Accessology, Inc., a national consulting firm specializing in accessibility compliance will host “Unlocking the Mysteries of Access” training seminar on April 19 from 8:30am-5:30pm at the Gateway Center, University of North Texas.

(PRWEB) March 31, 2005 -- The seminar provides an in depth knowledge of state and federal accessibility standards for commercial properties and the differences between complying with state standards and federal law. The seminar will also address upcoming changes to federal and state standards, as well as how to protect yourself and your company from access related complaints and legal action.

The seminar will provide 8 hours of continuing education credits. The class is technical in nature but provides practical applications and should answer any questions regarding accessibility for commercial properties. Both new construction and existing facilities will be covered making this appropriate for members of the design community, faculty managers, building owners and others who have an interest in access requirements.

Since 1991, Accessology Inc. has been a national leader in providing accessibility consulting services and is the largest consulting firm dedicated solely to access issues. It is a company that believes barrier removal is more than a few well placed ramps.

In 1995, Accessology Inc. expanded services to include architectural plan reviews and final inspections. Working closely with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations has allowed this company to complete the review and inspection of construction documents for compliance with the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS). After the allotted time frame, they will then complete the final inspection to ensure the building is in compliance with the TAS. They are authorized by the TDLR to provide architectural plan reviews and final inspections of completed construction projects.

“We deal with all accessibility laws, state and federal and stay on top of new legislation as it is being written,” said Kristi Thomas, President and CEO. “We pride ourselves in knowing how to guide our clients whether they are building a new building or bringing an existing one into compliance. We stay on top of all access issues, in all 50 states, so we can bring the best and most current information to our clients.”

The registration fee is $195.00 per attendee and includes the 2004 revised ADA-ABA Guidelines (compact), 8 hours HSW, certificate of attendance and a copy of the presentation.
