Benicia Vallejo Humane Society Plans “Barkitecture II for Kitties Too, Competition and Auction” April 1, 2005

The Benicia Vallejo Humane Society hosts “Barkitecture II for Kitties Too,” a gala event, auction and competition where local contractors, architects, and designers compete to create unique, custom-designed doghouses and cat furniture. Along with the competition, the event includes dinner, live music, a premium raffle, live and silent auctions and a live-auction of the designer doghouses and cat furniture. Barkitecture II will be held Friday, April 1, 2005 6:30p.m-10:30p.m at the USA World Classic Car Museum 1525 Sonoma Blvd, Vallejo.

Vallejo, CA (PRWEB) March 21, 2005 -- The Benicia Vallejo Humane Society hosts “Barkitecture II for Kitties Too,” a gala event, auction and competition where local contractors, architects, and designers compete to create unique, custom-designed doghouses and cat furniture. Along with the competition, the event includes dinner, live music, a premium raffle, live and silent auctions and a live-auction of the designer doghouses and cat furniture. Barkitecture II will be held Friday, April 1, 2005 6:30p.m-10:30p.m at the USA World Classic Car Museum 1525 Sonoma Blvd, Vallejo.

The second annual event of its kind in the Benicia Vallejo community, Barkitecture II’s goal is to raise much needed operational funds to care for the animals and for outreach to build awareness of the plight of the many homeless dogs and cats available for adoption at the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society. Auction items includes a weekend in Sea Ranch, pet portraits, a day at the NASCAR races, golf getaways, gifts, jewelry, gourmet foods and gift baskets of all shapes and sizes. All proceeds from the event go directly to help the animals.

“The energy is really exciting this year; people are talking all over town,” said Carol Zensuis. Barkitecture II Gala Auction Tickets are $40 for BV Humane Members and $50 for the General Public, Tables of 8 are also available BV Humane Members, $350 with Table Sponsor listing in the Program and $400 for the General Public with a Table Sponsor Listing in the Program. Tickets are available at the BV Humane Society, the Vallejo and Benicia Chambers of Commerce and the Vallejo Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

In addition to the gala, Friday, March 25, 2005 5:30-8:00 the BV Humane Society hosts the People’s Choice Voting and Preview at Vallejo Museum 734 Marin Street, Vallejo. This event will offer the first view of the designer domiciles and people can vote for their favorites. Tickets for the “People’s Choice Voting” and Preview Party are $5 for BV Humane Members and $10 for the General Public.

Awards will be given for People’s Bark Choice, People’s Purr Choice, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention in both Bark and Purr, Best in Show. All entries will be featured in local media and the Benicia Vallejo Humane Society website at www.bvhumane.org. Premium Raffle, Tickets $10.00 each or 7 for $50.00(need not be present to win).
