Bob Garrity and Zach McWilliams Obtain Certified Lead Carpenter Designation
The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) offers a number of industry specific certification programs. The programs are designed to form a nationally recognized standard measure of quality and professionalism in the remodeling industry. The NARI certification programs are offered to those interested in becoming a Certified Remodeler (CR), a Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC), and/or a Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR). The programs consist of a study group that meets weekly for 12 to 14 weeks and ends with the 6 to 8 hour certification exam
Newtown Square, PA (PRWEB) March 17, 2005 -- Bob Garrity and Zach McWilliams of Benoit & Czarnecki Design/Construction, LLC earn the title of Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC). Benoit & Czarnecki, LLC is a member of the DelChester Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Bob and Zach received the CLC classification after successfully completing the intensive NARI study program that ended with a full day examination. The NARI CLC program is designed to raise the bar in the remodeling industry and more specifically in the area of job management and production.
“All too often any guy with a pick-up truck and some tools claims to be a general contractor, lead carpenter, or professional remodeler. He may even know how to frame a house, hang drywall, and install cabinets, but the real work of any remodeling project is in the management. The Lead Carpenter must not only know how to build, but must know all about the various trades involved, know who to get, when to get them, and how to ensure the work is done correctly and in a timely fashion. The Lead must order all materials, write up contracts, price work, and be the central cog of the entire job,” said Jim Benoit, CR Construction Manager. “ I am pleased with Bob and Zach for their completion of the course and their dedication to the company, their craftsmanship, and the industry as a whole.”
The NARI CLC program lasts for 15 weeks, consisting of an intensive study program covering all aspects of the project management and construction. The participants are tested on their knowledge of the business of remodeling, building codes and plans, all associated trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, framing, etc), all areas of proper design/layout, project management, and communication and people skills. The grueling course work ends with a six-hour cumulative final examination.
“We are happy Bob and Zach were not only willing to undergo the difficult certification, but that they also scored the highest in their class, “ said John Czarnecki, CKBR Operations Manager. “They were able prove their knowledge of the industry as well as take away a great deal of information, which they are able to share. We hope this inspires some of our staff members to pursue certification and continue their education.”
In addition, to the CLC program, NARI has a Certified Remodeler (CR) program, Certified Remodeler Specialist (CRS) program, Certified Remodeler Associate (CRA) program, Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR) program, and Certified Remodeling Carpenter (CRC) program.
