Retaining Wall System from Tensar/Forticrete Awarded BBA Certificate for Roads and Bridges

The Tensar/Forticrete Keystone retaining wall system has been awarded a BBA certificate for its use in railway and road bridge walls.

(PRWEB) March 17, 2005 -- The Keystone modular block http://www.tensar.co.uk[Retaining Wall System] jointly developed by Forticrete Ltd and Tensar International has been awarded British Board of Agrèment Certificate No. 04/R137 for use in railway and road bridge walls. The certification is an internationally acknowledged approval standard, and enables specifiers to select the Keystone system with even more confidence in its performance.

The Keystone system combines well proven precast facing units made under license in the UK by Forticrete Ltd, and Tensar’s market leading soil structure reinforcement RE geogrids.

The modular block facing units have been adapted for Tensar’s unique polymer connection, which enables much higher design strengths to be utilised compared with friction connection techniques. This allows aesthetically pleasing and economical projects to be achieved while ensuring complete security and reliability.

Different facing unit styles and colours are available to suit the project requirements and meet local environmental needs.

A typical major project taking advantage of the system is the New Tredegar Regeneration Scheme in South Wales presently under construction for Caerphilly County Borough Council by Sir Alfred McAlpine Construction Ltd.

Tensar International is a worldwide leader in the provision and manufacturer of best value solutions for soil reinforcement and ground stabilisation.
