CTL|Thompson Chosen to Work on Multi-Family Apartments

CTL|Thompson (CTL|T) has been selected to provide geotechnical and design investigations for Talavera, Onion Creek and Vaught Road apartments, and the Texan Tower.

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) July 28, 2005 -- CTL|Thompson (CTL|T) has been selected to provide geotechnical and design investigations for Talavera, Onion Creek and Vaught Road apartments, and the Texan Tower.

Talavera, Onion Creek and Vaught Road apartments are being built by Trammell Crow Residential, the first of which broke ground in early July.

CTL|T addressed a variety of conditions at these sites ranging from existing deep fill compression and expansive soil problems to weathered rock exposed on slopes.

Based on the soils encountered and the anticipated structural loads, CTL|T recommended alternatives including removal and recompaction of deep fill, removal of expansive soils and replacement with low swelling material, stabilization using lime and moisture to reduce the risk of movement of foundations, and over excavation and benching of slopes.

The Texan Tower is a seven-story multi-family high rise with a two-story underground garage located at 608 W. 24th Street. The design team includes Ely Properties, Sterling Engineers and Chiles Architects. CTL|T addressed expansive soil problems and recommended deep piers for the foundation.

Over the past 34 years, CTL|Thompson has grown its regional expertise in geotechnical, materials and environmental engineering and testing. The firm has nine regional offices located in Austin and Dallas, Texas; and Colorado Springs, Crested Butte, Denver, Fort Collins, Glenwood Springs, and Pueblo, Colorado.
