Small Businesses in Need of More Affordable Merchant Accounts, Costs to Accept Credit Cards Too High
Several small businesses are searching for options when it comes to accepting credit cards. Most merchant accounts are too costly for a smaller business to justify the cost of having one.
(PRWEB) October 8, 2005 -- Erin is the director of education at the Wisconsin Institute of Permanent Cosmetics, which until recently was unable to find a cost-effective merchant account to accept credit cards from clients and students.
“Business phone lines are very expensive and being a small business I don't want to pay for a business line just to use credit card service”, says Erin, “and all my business calls I take on my cell phone”.
This is a real problem for a lot of businesses that truly need a merchant service, but can’t justify the costs of the account itself, along with the additional and indirect costs that often come with it. Many services require a second line, a terminal rental, and so on.
This sort of problem especially relates to small construction businesses, photographers and similarly small, mobile business types.
Erin, however, has found a unique solution to her merchant account dilemma. It’s called “Accept-by-Phone”, and it’s a unique merchant service that provides a sort of “loophole” in the merchant industry for companies like Erin’s.
“I am thrilled with accept-by-phone… The best attribute about this service is it gives me the ability to accept credit cards without having a phone line for a credit card machine”, Erin says. Now she can use either a regular phone line or her cell phone to process credit cards easily.
Other similar businesses have also found Accept-by-Phone to solve this problem, because of its strangely low rates and unique operating service. The account itself has no limits or transaction fees, which is unheard of in the merchant industry. Business owners only pay $5 a month and a discount rate.
“I don't need to lease a terminal and sign into an extensive contract”, says Bill, CEO of Coastal Travel Vacations Worldwide. He goes on, “Most importantly, [I can’t get over] the significantly low cost of operation and start up.”
In an industry that is generally known to draw profits from every possible angle, it is refreshing for many businesses to see this sort of service arise. Perhaps Accept-by-Phone will start a favorable trend within the merchant industry that is more favorable towards the “little guy”.
Small businesses interested in this service should go to http://www.accept-by-phone.com and sign up for an application, which only costs them if they are approved.
