(PRWEB) February 10, 2006 -- A local family owned manufacturing business has become the latest member of Cornwall County Council Trading Standard’s ‘Made in Cornwall’ scheme. Insulated glass units made by Cornwall Glass & Glazing at their state-of-the-art factory at St Austell now carry the coveted ‘Made in Cornwall’ logo.
“We are delighted that our core product is recognised under the Made in Cornwall scheme.” Said Mark Mitchell, managing director. “As a Cornish family company, we are intensely proud of our 25 plus years of doing business in the County and contributing to the local economy. Membership of the scheme reassures our customers that they are buying a quality product, made right here in Cornwall, rather than something shipped in from outside of the County.”
The 'Made in Cornwall' scheme was developed in 1991 in an attempt to identify genuine Cornish produce. Under the control of Trading Standards Service, the 'Made in Cornwall' logo was introduced for local producers to use in association with their genuine Cornish products. The range of products registered with the scheme continues to grow as more and more manufacturers join.
“The scheme has attracted over 1,000 large and small producers looking to sell good quality, locally made products.” Explains Linda Davies from Cornwall’s Trading Standards. “Not only do we verify members products are genuinely produced in Cornwall, but ensure they operate fair trading practices for the added peace of mind for their customers.”
