EasyLiving Home comes to NH

EasyLiving Home, a program that makes all new single family homes basically accessible, was unvieled on March 10 at the annual NH State Home Show. Honorary Chair, Congressman Jeb Bradley, and several other members of the EasyLiving Home of NH coalition were on hand to cut the ribbon.

Manchester, NH (PRWEB) March 15, 2006 -- EasyLiving Home of NH celebrated its program launch during the grand opening of the 2006 NH State Home Show on Friday evening. A plaque was presented to Honorary Chair, Congressman Jeb Bradley by Clyde Terry, CEO of Granite State Independent Living.

EasyLiving Home of NH is a voluntary certification program for developers who build new single family homes which meet the program’s criteria. This includes one no-step entrance, 32” doorways throughout the ground level and a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and entertainment space on the ground floor. An EasyLiving Home is easy to access and easy to use regardless of age or ability.

EasyLiving Home of NH is being run by a coalition of NH organizations and citizens including AARP of NH, Dianne Beaton of Second Wind Water Systems, the NH Developmental Disabilities Council, the Governor’s Commission on Disability, Granite State Independent Living, the Homebuilders and Remodelers Association of NH, Karle McKinster, AIA of Edwards and Kelcy Associates, Mary King, NH real estate licensee, New Hampshire Housing and Reggie Moreau, RJ Moreau Communities, LLC. The program is funded through a grant from the New Hampshire Developmental Disabilities Council and staffed by Granite State Independent Living.
