CII - SCHWING Stetter India tie-up for Skills Training
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s leading Industry Body and SCHWING Stetter India, a leading player in the Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Equipment Industry, announced the tie up between CII, City & Guild (UK) and SCHWING Stetter India Private Limited (SSIPL) to offer Certificate Courses for Ready Mix Concrete Equipment Operators in Chennai. City & Guilds (UK) would assess the operators and issue certification on successful completion of the course. The Certificate Course offers training on all aspects of operation of the RMC equipment, maintenance, safety and trouble shooting.
Chennai (PRWEB) April 5, 2006 -- Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s leading Industry Body and SCHWING Stetter India, a leading player in the Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Equipment Industry, announced the tie up between CII, City & Guild (UK) and SCHWING Stetter India Private Limited (SSIPL) to offer Certificate Courses for Ready Mix Concrete Equipment Operators in Chennai. City & Guilds (UK) would assess the operators and issue certification on successful completion of the course. The Certificate Course offers training on all aspects of operation of the RMC equipment, maintenance, safety and trouble shooting.
The “Concrete Pump Operator” and “Batching Plant Operator” certificate courses are part of the Skill Development Initiative (SDI) by CII Southern Region, to improve the employability of the economically backward population, especially youth. This initiative would also provide the industry in South India with skilled / trained manpower, to meet the industry’s ever growing need of skilled manpower. These courses would be ideal for fresh Polytechnic and ITI pass outs.
Speaking on the association with SSIPL, Mr. Parasuraman, Chairman CII - Southern Region, said, “CII works in partnership with the private sector and Government agencies to train manpower in skills development. CII is targeting to skill around 5000 people by the end of this year on various trades, and make them employable.” The program will include delivery of locally relevant and internationally benchmarked ‘practical skills’ training.
Mr. Anand Sundaresan, Managing Director, SSIPL., said, “We are thankful to CII and CITY & Guild (UK) for partnering with us in offering these courses. Being a major player in the Readymix Concrete Equipment industry, we strongly believe in enhancing the skill and knowledge of the people working on our equipments. This course will certainly ensure that the equipments are handled in the right way thereby decreasing the down time and increasing the equipment availability.”
Schwing Stetter India, incorporated in 1999 has already put in the market more than 500 Batching Plants and 1000 Concrete pumps and 3000 truck mixers besides various imported equipments from their group companies in Germany and Brazil. With these numbers expected to grow in a geometric proportion in the next 10 years, Schwing Stetter India has geared up by investing over Rs.3 crores for developing the infrastructure required to enhance the skillsets of its equipments operators.
SCHWING Stetter India would dedicate their integrated 13,000 Sq.ft. facility that comprises of two air conditioned lecture halls equipped with latest audio – visual aids, technical library and working models laboratory for the courses. The Service Centre for hands-on-training and Spare Parts Depot are also located in the same facility adjacent to SSIPL factory in Sipcot Industrial Park near Sriperumpudur. The training department of Schwing Stetter has two faculties with software and animation content development team.
The world class training facility of SCHWING Stetter received appreciation from many quarters. Schwing Stetter India recently also bagged “The India Manufacturing Excellence Award for the year 2005”, for the Best Customer Training Service offered from Forst & Sullivan, USA.
