Developer Constructs $4.5 Million in Waxhaw-area Road Improvements

Significant road improvements have been made around Millbridge, a new home community located in Waxhaw, North Carolina. Charlotte developer GS Companies, a privately held residential development company, has constructed over $3.3 Million in upgrades with another $1.2 Million currently in the design and permitting process.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) February 23, 2007 -- Tom Scott, principal/partner of GS Companies, a privately held residential development company based in Charlotte, announced the company has constructed over $3.3 Million in road improvements in Waxhaw, N.C. with another $1.2 Million currently in the design and permitting process.

The funds have been used for significant upgrades to Kensington Road and an extension of Kensington Road to NC16, including a bridge crossing. Both are public roads that surround the developer's Millbridge community.

The future construction will allow for improvements at the intersections of Gray Byrum Road and NC16, Gray Byrum Road and Waxhaw-Marvin Road, Waxhaw-Marvin Road and Kensington Road (to be signalized), along with upgrades to Waxhaw-Marvin Road at frontage to other Millbridge phases.

"These improvements will provide a benefit to the general public as well as enhance travelers' daily commutes to and from Waxhaw," said Scott. "We want the surrounding area for Millbridge residents to be as aesthetically appealing and as safe as possible."

Millbridge is a 2,243-home mixed-use community that will feature a picturesque covered bridge and working waterwheel at its main entrance on Kensington Road. GS Companies previously donated land adjacent to the community to the Town of Waxhaw for a 60-acre town park and 25 acres to Union County Public Schools for the Kensington Elementary School that is now open.
