Rolawn Topsoil Delivered by Barge Over the Thames
Rolawn, Europe's largest turf grower and leading topsoil supplier, recently undertook one of their more unusual and challenging customer requests by delivering their Blended Loam topsoil to Thames Ditton Island.
London, UK (PRWEB) February 22, 2007 -- Rolawn, Europe's largest turf grower and leading supplier recently undertook one of their more unusual and challenging customer requests by delivering their Blended Loam topsoil to Thames Ditton Island.
Due to a complete lack of road traffic and the only access being by a pedestrian suspension footbridge on the 350 yard island, a barge was used to deliver the tote bags across the Thames to the island, near Hampton Court.
The barge sailed across the Thames from the north bank, moored alongside the customers property and then lifted each bag by crane directly into the garden.
Philip Cuthbert, Rolawn's Commercial Director commented "this demonstrates Rolawn's commitment to customer service and our philosophy that where there's a will there's a way."
Rolawn is Europe's larger producer of cultivated Turf and is also recognised as Britain's leading supplier of high quality topsoil. Located in the Vale of York, Rolawn is an independent business whose reputation has been established for over 30 years. Rolawn also provide bark and lawn seed as well as lawn food and fertiliser.
