Construction of Buckeye Parkway Center Moving Ahead

Things are moving ahead for the construction of Buckeye Parkway Center, a 720,000-square foot regional power center at I-10 and Verrado Way in Buckeye.

Buckeye, AZ (PRWEB) April 9, 2007 - Things are moving ahead for the construction of Buckeye Parkway Center, a 720,000-square foot regional power center at I-10 and Verrado Way in Buckeye.

Kitchell Corporation, a construction company headquartered in Phoenix, has completed the installation of the 3/4-mile sewer in Yuma Road, as well as the complete installation of one mile of water and sewer lines in Airport Road. Mass grading of the Buckeye Parkway Center is 65% complete and a 1.5 mile portion of Airport Road from Roosevelt south to Yuma has been rough graded. The construction of buildings is scheduled to start in August.

"Kitchell has been doing a great job with the project and will continue to move forward on schedule to open in July, 2008," said Jeff Smith, developer of the project. "We have been very pleased with the support we have received from the Town of Buckeye in helping us complete the complicated off-site improvements and move forward with building plans for the center. The residents, civic leaders and members of the business community continue to tell us they are looking forward to the center's completion in July of 2008."

The project broke ground on Feb. 13th, with more than 150 people in attendance. A "Name the Center" contest was held in February and Buckeye resident Walt Morris' entry was deemed the winner. He received a $100 gift certificate for winning the contest.

The center is scheduled to open July 27, 2008. Although the specific stores cannot be identified at this time, Smith said retail uses planned for Buckeye Parkway Center include large discount stores for goods, groceries, apparel, home improvement and building supplies, as well as electronics, pet supplies, crafts and home accessories.
