Gallery Furniture Expands Use of Web Cameras With TrueSentry for Digital Video Surveillance

Gallery Furniture has been successfully using TrueLook webcam software for over seven years. The TrueLook software allows for Gallery Furniture customers to look around the store showroom via the Internet and shop 24 hours a day. The addition of TrueSentry allows for Gallery Furniture to use the already installed webcams for security and surveillance.

Winston Salem, NC (PRWEB) July 30, 2007 -- Gallery Furniture, a furniture superstore located in Houston, TX, has a showroom of over 100,000 square feet containing everything from recliners to brand name electronics. Gallery Furniture began using TrueLook IP network camera system over seven years ago so that customers could shop online as well as in the store. Recently, Gallery Furniture added more cameras and implemented the TrueSentry intelligent digital video surveillance system. The store has also increased the amount of cameras located throughout the showroom.

"TrueSentry was a necessary step to take as Gallery Furniture began to grow," explains George Branch, IT Lead at Gallery Furniture. In June 2006, televisions and electronics began to disappear from the store. Captured on video was an employee who was handing out televisions to questionable customers with out having those persons show proof of receipt. Gallery Furniture was able to capture many of these occurrences on video and turn over proof to the proper authorities, thanks to the digital recording that the TrueSentry software creates.

Besides security reasons, Gallery Furniture uses the cameras to help aid people in online shopping and split party shopping. From the Gallery Furniture website, users can view the over 30 webcams, located throughout the store, to locate the furniture that they are looking for. By zooming the camera in, users can find out the price, stock number of the item and then call into the store to place their order.

Another way to expedite the purchasing process, users can also use the patented LiveCARD feature. LiveCARD allows for users to send a snapshot from the webcam to any e-mail address. From there, recipients can simply click on the image they receive and will be directed to the same view of the camera where they can pan/tilt/zoom the camera in to get an up close look of the product for themselves. Decision-making can all be done from the comfort of one's home.

In 2006, Gallery Furniture had over 266,145 unique users view the webcams. This led to over nine million images served to the customers. Users are able to view the webcams 24 hours a day allowing for shopping any time the mood strikes. Management at Gallery Furniture can also monitor the cameras at any time remotely, without even coming into the store. This gives Gallery Furniture owners the capability to monitor the store activities and make sure customers are being assisted.

"With the TrueLook and TrueSentry software, we are able to view the cameras and constantly monitor the status of Gallery Furniture," said Branch. "TrueSentry has inevitably saved us thousands of dollars in merchandise and easily allows us to turn video over to proper authorities to help track down thefts. We've had people from all over the world view our webcams. A recent contest, our winner from England, successfully responded with the number of birds we have in our store. The winner has never stepped foot in the showroom. TrueLook and TrueSentry provide us with many uses to help increase our business and improve productivity."

Smooth Operator: Fu-Tung Cheng Launches New Concrete Finishing Tool

World-renowned designer and bestselling author introduces best-in-class professional polishing pads.

Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2007 -- Fu-Tung Cheng, award-winning residential designer and bestselling author of Concrete Countertops and Concrete at Home, has just announced the newest addition to his concrete countertop product line: CHENG Professional Polishing Pads. At 4 mm, this new pad boasts a 60% increase in polishing surface.

Cheng's company, Cheng Concrete Exchange (a division of Cheng Design Products), has partnered with Canadian-based Interstar Corporation in developing this extension to the CHENG portfolio of quality concrete design products. Interstar is a recognized innovator in the manufacturing of pigments, admixtures and fibers for the concrete industry.

In expanding the already extensive CHENG Concrete Countertop product line to include this professional-grade polishing tool, it will only help improve the performance and ease-of-use of all CHENG proprietary products.

"Yet again, we are leading the way by developing and offering cutting-edge, professional-quality products for the concrete industry," said Cheng. "Along with our partner, Interstar, we are introducing best-in-class products for both the professional and do-it-yourselfer. Our goal is to provide the best -- and the most complete -- set of tools for everyone."

MEASURABLE RESULTS
As part of the complex development process, Cheng and his team of product development professionals subjected the new pads to rigorous lab testing. The results were not surprising -- this next-generation polishing pad outperformed the industry standard at a remarkable rate. When compared to standard polishing pads in a three minute controlled polishing test, the 50 grit Professional Polishing Pad cut 81% faster and the 400 grit Professional Polishing Pad cut 271% faster.

IMPROVED PERFORMANCE
In addition to stellar test results demonstrated by this new product, Cheng's entire line of next-generation concrete products has been dramatically improved and re-branded under the CHENG Concrete Countertop Products line and the partnership with Interstar. This line provides the industry's first comprehensive, high-performance line of concrete countertop products that will yield consistent, professional results. Other marquee products in the portfolio include: CHENG Pro-Formula Mix, CHENG Slurry, CHENG Sealer, CHENG Wax, and CHENG Polish.

INSTRUCTION IS BEST
As part of his education process, Cheng always advises first-time users to read Concrete Countertops and review the Concrete Countertops DIY Instructional DVD before starting any concrete countertop project. Great concrete products combined with great concrete knowledge can yield fantastic, inspired results.

IT'S SHOWTIME
Cheng's newest products and training seminars will be featured at the Concrete Countertop Institute Conference, October 25-27, 2007 in Charlotte, NC. In addition to serving as a showplace for CHENG products and training seminars, Fu-Tung Cheng has been selected as this year's keynote speaker.

ABOUT CHENG CONCRETE EXCHANGE
Cheng Design Products, Inc. was launched in 1998 to bring Cheng's aesthetic embodied in concrete countertops and unique kitchen hoods to homeowners, designers and architects. In 2003, Cheng Concrete Exchange, a division of Cheng Design Products, was developed as a comprehensive online resource center for professionals, DIYs, designers, and homeowners interested in designing with concrete. Also in 2003, Cheng, who has been designing with concrete for over 25 years, began teaching workshops in Berkeley, CA, on the design and crafting of concrete countertops.

"Concrete allows for highly sculptural designs in countertops, something not really possible with two-dimensional materials like granite or stone," said Cheng. "But, there's a shortage of craftsmen able to design and build them. We hope to address this shortage with our training programs and full line of specialty products."

CHENG products are currently available at the Cheng Concrete Exchange online store and select concrete and building supply retailers throughout the U.S.

In addition, the website, www.concreteexchange.com, offers information about and imagery of Cheng's design projects as well as concrete countertop products and workshops. For information on Cheng Design Products, please call (510) 849-3272 or visit www.chengdesign.com.

Boat Owners Turn to Self-Storage Steel and Metal Buildings

With many cities and towns banning the storing of boats in driveways and on streets, a growing number of boat owners are looking to self-storage facilities to keep their boats safe, sound and out of the way.

Tulsa, Okla. (PRWEB) July 30, 2007 -- Whether it's in the ocean or on a lake, every summer millions of boating enthusiasts take to the water for as long as daylight is available. Unfortunately, with the number of recreational boats increasing, boat storage has become an issue.

Many cities and towns have passed ordinances saying that bulky vehicles like boats must be hidden behind a 7-foot fence so that they're not visible in driveways or streets. However, a mandate like that leaves boat owners in a lurch. And with more people looking into the purchase of boats, the problem of storage will only get worse.

Because of this, a growing number of boat owners are looking to self-storage steel and metal buildings to keep their boats safe, sound and out of the way.
"If your facility is on the way to the lake, you've got a great opportunity with boat storage," said Dean Brown, president of American Steel Buildings. "Boat owners can't store at home. Docks are convenient, but they're pricy and there's limited space. A steel or metal building for boat storage could be the best of both worlds."

According to Brown, boat storage isn't too different from regular self storage, and may even be easier in some cases. A nice boat can cost around $50,000 or more, so boat owners are going to be willing to pay well and on time for good storage and peace of mind.

"You can even offer little extras for the boat owners," Brown said. "Give them easy hook-up, where all they have to do is call ahead and you'll bring the boat out for them. Make sure you have security cameras in the facility and a guard on premises. That will help your customers feel like they're getting more than their money's worth."

A boat storage facility can also offer protection from the elements, which boat owners would be unable to get at home with just a tarp to protect their investment. Although some clients might hesitate to lose the chance at an easy-access spot at the docks, Brown suggests offering 24-hour access to your storage facility so they won't feel any inconvenience.

"Recreational boating is a big deal," said Brown. "And as long as it continues, people will need a place to store their boats when they're not using them. That's a niche we can fill."

Consumer Spending Behavior Favors Launch of New Cityblock Home Service in Arizona

Homeowners in the Phoenix Metropolitan area spend more on home maintenance than they do on personal care products and beauty treatments. According to a U.S. Census report on consumer spending habits, the average homeowner in Phoenix spends $984 a year on household operations. As a result, companies like Cityblock Home are launching new services for handyman and air conditioning repair to meet this consumer demand.

(PRWEB) July 30, 2007 -- Homeowners in the Phoenix Metropolitan area spend more on home maintenance than they do on personal care products and beauty treatments. According to a U.S. Census report on consumer spending habits, the average homeowner in Phoenix spends $984 a year on household operations. Included in these expenditures are bills for repairs done by contractors, handymen, or for the materials a homeowner buys for a 'do it yourself' project'. These home maintenance expenditures are almost 48% higher than the $666 that an average Phoenix area homeowner spends on personal care products, cosmetics, and trips to the barber and salon. As a result, companies like Cityblock Home are launching new services for handyman and air conditioning repair to meet this consumer demand.

"This spending pattern really reflects the priority that people place on their homes," said Craig Mathews, Marketing Director for Cityblock Home. "We specifically launched Cityblock Home to appeal to time stressed homeowners who want to enjoy their home, but don't have the time to maintain it themselves." Cityblock Home offers air conditioning, heating and handyman services to homeowners throughout the East Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Cityblock Home is a service extension of Cityblock, a commercial construction and building services company located in Tempe, Arizona. "We had commercial clients ask us for years about offering our air conditioning and repairmen for residential services," said Doug Deyo, Company President, "we are glad that we can now do that."

Cityblock Home anticipates that the hot Phoenix summers will keep their air conditioning technicians busy all summer, but that other services will keep people using their service year round. Mathews stated, "We have a number of services that people need all the time. In addition to our handyman services, we offer Realtors and home sellers a special service to get their properties ready for sale. We will also be promoting energy awareness, as well as helping people getting their homes ready for seasonal changes."

Classic Metal Roofs, LLC, serving Southern New England, offer their customers Energy Star rated, Metal Roofing systems with lifetime limited warranties. Architect Anthony Eckelberry Completes A Spanish Colonial Revival Home Remodeling

Anthony Eckelberry has completed a home remodeling that transforms the appearance of a Spanish Colonial Revival style home.

Los Angeles (PRWEB) July 29, 2007 -- Anthony Eckelberry announces that he has just completed a remodeling project that creatively expands a one-story residence to a two-story structure in the same style.

The owner of the property in West Los Angeles wanted to increase the size of his home to provide room for a growing family yet keep the qualities of the home that attracted him to the building in the first place.

Architect Anthony Eckelberry came up with a design that would harmonize with the look of Spanish Colonial Revival style homes in the area and yet provide more room. This was accomplished by leaving the original living room structure and rebuilding the remaining portion of the house in a two-story configuration.

Anthony explains: "By leaving a portion of the existing house I was maintaining a style to be matched in the new portions of the house and also showing a respect for the earlier craftsmen that built the home in the 1920's; this configuration also ties in with remaining one-story homes in the area. All new portions of the interior were designed with a modern sensibility influenced by the traditional exterior."

The homeowner remarked: "Anthony, you are a master! Great job!"

The owners now spend pleasant evenings under the wisteria vine that was preserved and re-trained over a new trellis.

The Bond Advertising and Marketing Group Launches Referral Marketing Services in Toronto

Client expansion means greater marketing opportunities for businesses throughout the greater Toronto Area.

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) July 29, 2007 -- The Bond Advertising and Marketing Group has expanded its client portfolio with the addition of a breakthrough lead generation program designed to help home improvement companies throughout Ontario. While continuing to specialize in promotional marketing for the sports, entertainment and hospitality sectors, Bond Advertising is now tapping into the multi-billion dollar home improvement industry, helping local companies maintain a more productive business while supporting future growth.

Despite its position as the fastest growing industry of the 21st century, the home improvement business has desperately sought new ways to secure customer leads in the wake of tighter restrictions on previous marketing methods. In response, Bond Advertising and Marketing is offering a program that secures quality leads for local dealers through its unique direct advertising approach.

As an established referral marketing leader, Bond Advertising and Marketing's alternative marketing approach has allowed local businesses, from the prestigious Kaneff Golf Properties to Canadian Tire Service Center, to increase traffic and customer loyalty. Now it's helping home improvement businesses grow and flourish at a time when restrictions such as the "Do Not Call" list have been hitting them the hardest.

"Our longtime expertise in creating foot traffic for some of the top golf courses, hotels and restaurants in the area has made it a seamless transition to generate leads for home improvement leaders," said Bond Advertising and Marketing CEO, Brad Rice. " In response to current challenges and changes impacting once effective telemarketing strategies, our program offers a way to get quality, cost-effective leads in a more professional and efficient way."

Bond Advertising and Marketing's field teams provide home improvement companies with the ability to outsource lead generation more cost-effectively. Now they can better target new and potential clients by utilizing the expertise of a business whose core competence is focused on bringing a client's product or service directly to the customer, face-to-face.

These dedicated field teams approach local homeowners with a simple offer of a free estimate on a variety of home improvement services, ranging from window installation to professional paint services. After securing interest, Bond Advertising and Marketing's Distributors connect the potential customer directly to their client's customer care representative to collect more information. The company's job is complete once they've secured a definitive date and time for the first appointment.

"We're making sure our home improvement partners receive a constant flow of the best leads out there, because we're able to qualify every lead face-to-face and offer a compelling service that homeowners already want," said Rice. "Meanwhile, we are very excited that we're able to provide another outlet for our team members to advance and grow within the company."

Whether distributing on behalf of popular area restaurants, car care brands or local sports teams,
The Bond Advertising and Marketing Group connects consumers with local businesses and activities they are already familiar with, but might not have frequented. This referral marketing approach generates new ways for businesses to bring in new and lapsed customers.

As an authorized distributor of referral marketing leader, Smart Circle International, Bond Advertising and Marketing builds upon a proven marketing approach that has helped national and international consumer brands -- from Pizza Hut to the New York Yankees -- significantly increase their business. The Smart Circle's referral marketing model provides results because it allows retail and venue-based businesses to help consumers save money on activities they enjoy by matching the right customers with the best offers in the form of Smart Circle Cards.

(PRWEB) July 28, 2007 -- SouthernPhoto.com, the Internet's leading supplier of surveyor's equipment, announces the publication of "Making Your Mark," an article which compares and reviews the marking tools used by surveyors such as chalk, spray paint and pencils.

Surveying is a pragmatic profession and employs the tools that best fit its needs. For making a precise measurement and feeding thousands of such measurements into a computer, surveyors use delicate machines that can cost thousands of dollars. For marking their spot, surveyors use chalk.

But different chalks mark better on different surfaces and sometimes chalk won't leave a mark at all so spray paint is required. Also, different colored chalks and paints are required to distinguish the significances of the marks. Naturally there's a wide variety of marking tools that surveyors need and http://www.SouthernPhoto.com?pr=072607 carries them all.

In "Making Your Mark," published on SouthernPhoto.com here -- http://www.southernphoto.com/articles/Leave_Your_Mark_Comparing_Surveyors_Marking_Tools.asp?pr=072607 -- these marking tools are reviewed and compared. This article is part of the new articles section of SouthernPhoto.com which promised to publish articles of interest to surveyors and anyone that follows the industry.

Giant Petroleum, Inc. Completes Three Natural Gas Wells

Giant Petroleum, Inc. has finished three natural gas wells in a developmental well-drilling program on its prospect acreage in Texas. The project is part of the company’s partnership with Hilltex Operating Company.

Irving, TX (PRWEB) July 27, 2007 -- Giant Petroleum, Inc., a company that purchases and drills oil and natural gas reserves, today announces two successful completions and a planned re-completion in its current well-drilling program.

Giant Petroleum partnered with Hilltex Operating Company to develop a large acreage position in the Shackelford and Throckmorton counties of Texas. Today marks the completion of the first three of 20 planned wells in the prospect acreage.

The Hilltex Operating/Giant Petroleum #136-1 was completed in the Mississippi Reef formation. The well was tested at more than 600 MCFG/Day and is currently producing commercial natural gas from a gas cap on top of oil-bearing strata.

The Hilltex Operating/Giant Petroleum #137-1 was also completed in the Mississippian Reef formation. The well was tested at 125 BOPD and 300 MCFG/Day and is currently producing both sweet crude and natural gas.

"This well will be a nice, long-term producer for both Hilltex Operating and Giant Petroleum, Inc. and all partners involved,” said Chris Plunkett, President of Irving, Texas-based Giant Petroleum, Inc.

In addition to the two completed well-drilling locations, the Hilltex Operating/Giant Petroleum Miller #1 was drilled to test both the Mississippian Reef formation and Caddo Limestone formation. The well had multiple shows and logged well throughout several pay zones in the well bore. Initially, the well drilling was completed into the Mississippian Reef formation and did not work.

"We are going to move forward with this well in some of the up-hole play,” said Wes Harris, Chief Operations Officer of Giant Petroleum, Inc.

About Giant Petroleum, Inc.

Real Estate Agents and Lending Professionals Earn Commissions and Advertising Dollars at Dogtor Paco's Lender's Corner -- New Online Lending Services Engine

Dogtor Paco's Lender's Corner is a powerful new on-demand mortgage calculator that provides lending professionals with full good faith estimate (GFE) level pricing including monthly payments and all closing costs for loans that meet the requirements of a property. Real estate agents can qualify clients for loans and be in control of their deals from beginning to end as Dogtor Paco provides a quick way to research and compare market pricing within seconds, price and identify a loan product, take an application so that their clients can get approved and processed for a loan easier and faster than ever before and finally, deliver a conditional letter of approval along with all state disclosures, ready for a client's signature, within an hour.

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) July 27, 2007 -- Dogtor Paco's Lender's Corner is a powerful on-demand mortgage calculator that provides lending professionals with full good faith estimate (GFE) level pricing including monthly payments and all closing costs for loans that meet the requirements of a property. Real estate agents can qualify clients for loans and be in control of their deals from beginning to end. Dogtor Paco provides a way to research and compare market pricing within seconds, price and identify a loan product, and take an application so that their clients can get approved and processed for a loan easier and faster than ever before. Finally, a conditional letter of approval will be delivered along with all state disclosures, ready for a client's signature.

There are primarily two ways to make money with Dogtor Paco. First, lending professionals will earn the commission from the loans closed using the Dogtor Paco engine. The company's Loan Organizer™ tells financial professionals how much money they will make by submitting a client's application electronically through the Dogtor Paco's engine where the loan will be completed quickly and frictionlessly. Second, agents and brokers can also earn what is known as Dogtor Paco Dollars, which can be spent to increase advertising placements on the Dogtor Paco website, generating more client leads for each advertiser.

To begin, users will go to www.dogtorpaco.com and scroll over to the field entitled, "What would you like to do?" They will go to the section for "Real Estate Professionals/Mortgage Brokers" to purchase a loan or refinance. While consumers can view the loans on Dogtor Paco's site, only Department of Real Estate (DRE) licensed professionals can complete the loan transactions and be compensated for the work. Rates are updated every twenty minutes. Next, users enter the purchase price of a property that their client, the borrower, is going to pay for a new home, and they view a comprehensive list of real loan offerings available.

Users are presented with multiple loan choices provided by local lenders so that they can choose the loan best suited to the client's situation. The entire application process is simple and fast. The borrower is happy to get a loan within minutes and asks to lock in the rate. Users are now ready to apply for the loan and should take a moment and print a copy of the table that includes the loan chosen for future reference.

Next users simply click the Apply option. At any time during the application process, users can get help by either viewing the video clip entitled, "How to fill out Dr Paco's loan application" or they can hit the Chat button to speak with Dogtor Paco's Assistant Banker. Within 30 minutes of submitting a client's loan, users will receive a complete state disclosure package, including a good faith estimate, 1003 and a conditional approval letter.

On residential transactions, Dogtor Paco can only pay a registered broker with the Department of Real Estate, so checks will be issued to the broker of record, directly from escrow, as per the directions supplied in the broker agreement that will have been completed prior to closing a loan.

The second way that Dogtor Paco will increase the income of lending professionals is that for every subscriber that an agent or lending professional refers to Dogtor Paco, they will receive $200 Dogtor Paco Dollars that can be spent to advertise on Dogtor Paco's website, which generates more client leads. When consumers look for a loan, they will find a Dogtor Paco powered website ranking highest in their individual marketing area, referring agents or brokers.

Dogtor Paco is initially geared towards California lending professionals, including loan officers, mortgage brokers and real estate agents, providing financial professionals with all the options for real estate financing. The company plans to expand Dogtor Paco services into Florida and then into the national marketplace in 2008.

About Dogtor Paco, Inc. (www.dogtorpaco.com)
Dogtor Paco, Inc. is a proprietary patent-pending online lending services engine where loan officers, mortgage brokers and real estate agents can facilitate the approval and processing of loans for customers faster. Dogtor Paco's powerful on-demand mortgage calculator provides good faith estimate (GFE) level quotes with full disclosure including monthly payments and all closing costs. Dogtor Paco uses instantaneous rates to calculate closing costs and monthly payments for a particular property. The Loan Organizer tells users how much they will make by submitting a client's application electronically through the Dogtor Paco's engine where the loan will be completed quickly and frictionlessly.

BioFit Kicks Off Product Line Redesign with Four New Seating Series

BioFit Engineered Products has introduced four new series of chairs as part of a focused redesign effort to offer customers a more contoured, tailored look, softer feel and improved long-term performance. Manufactured with a sewn seam, these chairs mark a stylistic departure, yet feature the same level of durability common to all BioFit products.

Bowling Green, OH (PRWEB) July 27, 2007 -- BioFit Engineered Products, an Ohio-based manufacturer and global supplier of ergonomic seating solutions, has introduced four new series of chairs as part of a focused redesign effort to offer customers a more contoured, tailored look, softer feel and improved long-term performance. Manufactured with a sewn seam, these chairs mark a stylistic departure, yet feature the same level of durability common to all BioFit products.

According to Ed Metzger, president of BioFit, incorporating the upgraded design is only part of the story behind the fresh new look and feel of the HL, FC, HC and FL series - the rest lies in the foam.

"Using seams allows us to minimize compression of pre-contoured foam seat and backrest cushioning during the manufacturing process," Metzger said. "This natural, unencumbered expansion of the foam helps the chairs remain substantially more comfortable over time."

HL, FC, HC and FL series chairs are suited for a variety of environments, including healthcare, education, industrial and office settings, as well as high-tech workplaces with static control requirements. A wide range of fabric upholstery options are also available. For more details, log on to www.biofit.com or call 1-800-597-0246.

Giant Petroleum Inc. Discovers New Source for Oil in West Texas

Giant Petroleum, Inc. hopes new field will help reduce reliance on foreign oil.

(PRWEB) July 26, 2007 — Giant Petroleum, Inc. announced the discovery of oil in a new field in the Marfa Basin of West Texas. The successful Giant-Lykes DPW #1C discovery well is located 35 miles south of Alpine, Texas.

"Due to the geologic success of the first well, we are planning to move forward and aggressively develop our relatively large acreage positions in Presidio and Brewster Counties," President of Giant Petroleum, Inc., Chris Plunkett said.

The confirmation of the new discovery came by electric logging which established the presence of abundant hydrocarbons within the target formation along with other unexpected, yet potentially productive horizons. A hydrocarbon, as its names suggests, is comprised of hydrogen and carbon and is easily found in crude oil.

The Giant-Lykes DPW #1C oil well is scheduled for completion in the upcoming weeks and is just one of many projects that Giant Petroleum, Inc. has planned in West Texas.

"Giant Petroleum is a small but growing company in a unique position to be a leader in this little-explored part of the country,” Chief Operations Officer, Giant Petroleum, Inc., Wes Harris, said. "We feel the timing is right and the technology is now there to exploit these virtually untapped reserves. This is absolutely necessary as we strive to decrease our dependence on foreign oil."

The Marfa Basin oil project took nearly three months with just as many attempts due to the drilling environment in West Texas. Once the drilling difficulties had been overcome, the well was logged and production casing (used to keep the hole from collapsing) was run.

"We anticipate this well to be very productive based on the e-log interpretations and examinations of well bore cuttings,” Plunkett said.

Crosswinds Communities Latest Builder to Offer PEARL Permanent Escape Ladder in All New Homes

California builder is one of first in the region to install permanent escape ladders as a standard feature in its Merced master planned community.

Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- PEARL Protected®, creators of the patented Permanent Escape And Rescue Ladder (PEARL®) for two and three-story homes, today announced that Crosswinds Communities is among the first builders in California's fast-growing Central Valley region to install PEARL as a standard feature in the master bedrooms of all its new homes located at Riverstone in Bellevue Ranch, a master planned community in Merced. Homeowners will also have the option to install additional ladders in other upstairs bedrooms. Crosswinds Communities currently showcases PEARL units in each of its three model homes which opened in mid-June.

Each new two-story home in Bellevue Ranch will include one PEARL ladder as a standard feature, with the option to install additional ladders based on the homeowner's preference. Crosswinds Communities is also offering retrofit installation for consumers whose homes are already under contract. The company, which specializes in creating master plan communities that promote quality of life, adds PEARL to its extensive list of standard product offerings that offer homeowners long-term value.

"We recognize that PEARL is a distinctive feature that creates tremendous value for our homeowners both today and in the future," said Dan Hahn, project manager for Crosswinds Communities. "For such a small investment, this permanent escape solution can offer unprecedented protection and peace of mind that cannot be measured in dollars and cents."

According to the National Fire Protection Association, there were approximately 381,000 home fires in 2005, resulting in 3,030 civilian deaths and more than 13,300 civilian injuries. Many of these casualties are the direct result of not being able to escape from upper-story bedrooms. Because PEARL can be permanently installed into the interior wall space beneath second and third-story windows, homebuilders like Crosswinds Communities are closing this deadly gap in residential fire safety by including an "always there" means of escape.

Located in the heart of the blossoming Central Valley region, Bellevue Ranch is an innovative, village-style neighborhood built around nature, learning and modern living. Homes are available in a variety of sizes and floor plans throughout this pedestrian-friendly community with tree-lined streets and scenic views. Additionally, developer Crosswinds Communities' master planned homes are complete with security packages as well as energy efficiency and interior air quality product innovations.

"As some housing markets grow soft, builders are more determined than ever to secure their market share with innovative products, smarter marketing and a better understanding of consumers' needs," said David Duley, co-founder and CEO of PEARL Protected. "Builders can accomplish all of these goals by investing in products like PEARL. You can't put a price tag on that kind of security."

Since PEARL's debut in October 2005, it has become one of the most recognized home safety products in the marketplace. PEARL has received the Home Safety Council's 2006 Product Innovation Award and has been featured on multiple episodes of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." PEARL has been also been showcased on NBC's "Today" and CBS's "The Early Show."

Available Now: Solar Innovations Environmental Control System Upgrades Decrease Impact on the Environment and the Bottom Line

Solar Innovations, a custom manufacturer of residential and commercial greenhouses, conservatories, sunrooms, folding glass walls and more, announces environmental control system upgrades available to the home gardener or professional horticulturalist thanks to continued technological advances.

Myerstown, PA (PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- Solar Innovations, a custom manufacturer of residential and commercial greenhouses, conservatories, sunrooms, folding glass walls and more, announces environmental control system upgrades available to the home gardener or professional horticulturalist thanks to continued technological advances.

Advances in computer technology have made owning and operating greenhouses easier than ever before. "Solar Innovations' environmental control options can aid the home gardener or professional horticulturalist by automatically adjusting temperature, humidity, and light intensity from within the greenhouse or from a remote location." An environmental control system will improve plant life within greenhouses by providing a constantly monitored atmosphere, producing a more uniform product.

Solar Innovations' greenhouse control systems can be automated according to the gardener's specifications. Greenhouse accessories, including fans, vents, misting and fogging systems, and heating or cooling systems, are automated in stages corresponding to the gardener's selection and plants' needs.

The first stage of implementation can be as simple as an on/off switch to control circulation fans which destratify the air and ridge vents to allow for the escape of hot air. An evaporative cooler can also be incorporated to draw cool moist air into the structure. By semi-automating a control system with a humidistat, a thermostat, or a timing device, the accessories will run only when necessary, lowering operating costs and saving energy. Fully automated systems have the option of being controlled by a sensaphone or remote programming system on a PLC or even through a cell phone, saving a substantial amount of time. These fully automated systems can be designed to maintain a specific set of criteria for constant plant comfort, taking into account the conditions outside the structure that may affect the plants' growing atmosphere.

In addition to common greenhouse accessories, Solar Innovations' environmental control systems can be designed to accommodate advanced features like evaporative coolers and foggers, drip systems, sensaphones, remote programming, photo and light sensors, and soil sensors. The horticulturalist's time can now be spent tending to plants rather than tinkering with their growing environment. Beyond the cost and time efficiency of the greenhouse control system, Mother Nature will benefit. Control systems can also reduce the need for chemicals to aid plant growth as the environment is more closely adjusted to create the ideal conditions and reduce energy costs and waste.

Solar Innovations' customized greenhouse accessories can be computer operated to improve the quality of plant life while providing benefits to the gardener. For more information on Solar Innovations' available control systems, please contact Solar at 717-933-4843 or 800-618-0669.

US Navy Begins Use of Industrial Nanotech Patented Product for Lead Abatement

Industrial Nanotech, Inc., an emerging global leader in nanotechnology, announced today the use of the Company's nanotechnology based coating on US Navy buildings for lead abatement. Nansulate LDX is the Company's patented innovative lead encapsulation coating and is being applied at a Pacific US Navy facility by a military contractor for encapsulation of the existing lead-based paint.

Naples, Fla. (PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- Industrial Nanotech, Inc. (Pink Sheets: INTK - News), an emerging global leader in nanotechnology, announced today the use of the Company's nanotechnology based coating on US Navy buildings for lead abatement. Nansulate LDX is the Company's patented innovative lead encapsulation coating and is being applied at a Pacific US Navy facility by a military contractor for encapsulation of the existing lead-based paint.

"This is a relatively small initial order, but it is a very significant breakthrough in our ongoing efforts to gain market share for Nansulate LDX throughout US Government facilities worldwide. The performance capabilities of our new environmentally safe, water based, lead abatement coating offers a new technology in lead abatement that can be applied to any substrate, forming a barrier coat to seal highly toxic lead paints," explained Francesca Crolley VP of Operations for Industrial Nanotech. "In addition to superior performance compared to traditional lead encasement coatings, Nansulate LDX offers the additional benefits which are the standard of Nansulate product line; the combination of thermal insulation, protection against corrosion, and the prevention of mold growth without the use of toxic moldicides. The ease of application, the performance criteria, and surface tolerance make Nansulate LDX a premier lead abatement coating."

Other facilities have recently utilized Nansulate LDX for superior lead encapsulation. The application of Nansulate LDX to a commercial office project by Southern Environmental Services in Marietta, Georgia, was successfully completed. The 30,000 square-foot building was previously contaminated with lead. The product also offers an eco-friendly alternative for environmental remediation.

The dangers of lead-based paint have become the object of multiple state and federal mandatory health regulations. Approximately 75% of homes built prior to 1978 contain lead-based paint. According to a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimate, lead abatement costs for residential units nationwide are approximately $570 billion, with another $500 billion estimated for the cleanup of commercial facilities. Within the past fifteen years, encapsulation as an abatement technique has surfaced and has become a cost-effective alternative solution, typically costing between 50 to 80% less than the cost of lead paint removal and replacement.

About Nansulate(R)
Nansulate(R) is the Company's patented product line of specialty coatings containing a nanotechnology based material and which are well-documented to provide the combined performance qualities of thermal insulation, corrosion prevention, and resistance to mold growth in an environmentally safe, water-based, coating formulation. Perkins+Will, a leading national sustainable design firm specializing in architecture, interiors, branded environments, and planning + strategies in a variety of markets, announced that it has acquired Minneapolis-based Rozeboom Miller Architects (RMA), a regional architecture and design firm recognized most notably for its innovative design of K–12 facilities.

Minneapolis (PRWEB) July 25, 2007 -- Perkins+Will, a leading national sustainable design firm specializing in architecture, interiors, branded environments, and planning + strategies in a variety of markets, announced that it has acquired Minneapolis-based Rozeboom Miller Architects (RMA), a regional architecture and design firm recognized most notably for its innovative design of K–12 facilities.

“Perkins+Will is known nationally for its presence in the K–12 area of practice, but we were lacking that expertise and depth here in our Minneapolis office. An acquisition was the quickest and most efficient way for us to develop a credible K–12 practice that would allow us to compete on a national level in that market,” said Chuck Knight, managing principal with Perkins+Will. “With a reputation for being an undisputed leader in K–12 design work here in Minneapolis and throughout the Upper Midwest, RMA was the perfect firm for us to turn to.”

“RMA has a solid foundation and a national reputation in the area of K–12 design, and we’re excited to integrate our practice with Perkins+Will and help the firm excel in that area,” said Ted Rozeboom, principal with RMA. “I feel strongly that the combination of Perkins+Will’s expertise in higher education design and RMA’s expertise in K–12 design will result in new creative thinking that will truly benefit education as a whole.”

Specifically, Rozeboom expects the acquisition to help position Perkins+Will as an innovator and leader in the area of 11–14 education, a growing market within the education sector.

Steve Miller, also a principal with RMA, agreed. “As two firms, Perkins+Will and RMA each had tremendous impact on the design of educational facilities as well on the design of healthcare, corporate and civic facilities,” he said. “But there is no doubt that by working together as one team we can impact these markets in ways we never dreamed possible.”

Both Perkins+Will and RMA are thriving and successful design firms, which is one of the reasons the firms were attracted to each other. The acquisition allows for faster, more synergistic growth that benefits employees and clients at both firms by providing project and talent diversity, fresh thinking, and the ability to leverage each other’s past success.

Doe Run Peru Begins Construction of Sulfuric Acid Plant for La Oroya Lead Circuit

Construction begins on second of three acid plants, set for 2008 completion; the upgrade of the first plant was completed, as scheduled, last December

La Oroya, Peru (PRWEB) July 25, 2007 -- Doe Run Peru has begun construction of a lead circuit sulfuric acid plant that will allow for the continued reduction of emissions of sulfur dioxide from the La Oroya smelter chimney, part of the company's continued commitment to improve air quality in La Oroya and meet its commitments with the Peruvian government and the local community.

The plant is the second of three related sulfuric acid projects (the first for the zinc circuit, has already been completed; the second for the lead circuit; and the third for the copper circuit), which comprise the last of nine projects undertaken under Doe Run Peru’s environmental operating agreement with the government (known by its Spanish initials, PAMA).

“This project carries an investment of more than $29 million. Its operation will involve the completion of a series of complementary projects we are carrying out concurrently,” said Juan Carlos Huyhua, president and general manager of Doe Run Peru. Those projects include completing updates to the effluents treatment plan, the electric substation that will power the acid plant,
