Buying in Spain Is Now A Safer Option

Horror stories about the potential pitfalls and dangers of buying in Spain could soon be a thing of the past thanks to the launch of a new scheme to help protect purchasers.

London, UK (PRWEB) April 5, 2008 -- The Safe Buying Experience (SBE) has been launched in partnership with leading developers including major UK owned house builder Taylor Woodrow de España, to provide both a safe and secure process for buying properties in Spain and a one-stop shop offering a range of independent professional services.

Susan Marson, CEO at SBE, said: "The well publicised problems and issues associated with buying a home in Spain have led to a lack of confidence in the Spanish property market. The aim of the Safe Buying Experience is to re-establish that confidence and ensure the whole buying process is secure and legally above board.

"Purchasers can be assured that any property they are interested in buying, which has been accredited by the SBE, has the necessary licences and planning consents in place, that the
purchase contract has been checked and any abusive clauses removed, and that all the necessary legal documents have been gathered ready to send on to the purchaser's lawyer, resulting in a quicker and cheaper conveyancing process.

"It will not be possible for developers or recommended partners to buy their way on to our web-site and while our customers will be recommended the services of professional advisors, IFA's and property management companies, all of whom have been subject to due diligence checks by SBE, there is absolutely no obligation on the customer to use any of the services offered. The result is a win-win situation for the potential buyer."

New Industry…

House hunters can find out which Spanish developments have been accredited by the SBE by visiting www.safebuyingabroad.com which launches in mid-April. Initially accredited developments will only be offered on new homes in Spain, but other jurisdictions will be added later on this year.

Nick Freeston, Head of UK Operations for Taylor Woodrow de España, added: "We are delighted to support this initiative and welcome any opportunity to reassure purchasers that Spain is still a safe place to buy.

"Taylor Woodrow de España has several new home developments throughout Spain that are in the process of being accredited by the SBE and, having been building in Spain for 50 years, we pride ourselves on our experience and the high levels of service we provide throughout the whole home-buying process.

"Buying abroad is a huge investment and no one wants to risk losing their hard earned savings by purchasing a home that doesn't have the correct planning licence in place. This new and independent scheme will ensure that the investment which house hunters make in a property abroad is a sound one."
