Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Thermal Control

(PRWEB) March 3, 2005 -- RFT Systems (Aerospace) Limited (RFT) are pleased to announce that they have completed their privately funded study into thermal control systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s).
The results of the 11 month long study have provided RFT with unrivalled insight into the thermal conditioning requirements, and technologies available, for this type of vehicle.
Utilising industry standard thermal modelling techniques, RFT have created a simulation system that can replicate a UAV, taking into account the vehicle structure, internal payload and external thermal loads.
Tom Benzie, Engineering Director, said “We have created a series of dynamic thermal models that can predict the thermal loading on a UAV throughout all phases of flight, in any of the worlds climatic regions. If we have the system configuration and the flight profile to be flown we can accurately predict temperatures within the UAV at any point on that profile. By knowing the required operating temperatures for the payload we can then implement thermal control philosophies which will provide optimum performance whilst reducing cost and overall system weight”.
RFT Systems (Aerospace) Limited is an Engineering Consultancy specialising in creating engineering solutions for the conditioning of both airframes and avionics.
