Carbon by Design to Acquire 10,000 sqft Lab and Aerospace R&D Facility
Carbon by Design announced the finalization of an agreement to provide the company with an additional 10,000sqft facility to accommodate its expanding list of aerospace and defense contracts.
(PRWEB) September 30, 2005 -- The new facility located in an upscale technology park in Oceanside, CA is the former home of a large semiconductor manufacture whose previous improvements to the facility include two class 10,000 clean rooms, two class 100 clean rooms, and over a dozen labs with significant communication and networking infrastructure. The new facility will be the eventual home for Carbon by Design’s fully automated cutting and finishing operations, while still allowing ample room for manufacturing and process development.
Director of Engineering, Dominick Consalvi said; “This new facility is about growth; growth of our aerospace capabilities, growth for our inventory capacity and growth for our manufacturing disciplines. Our sensitive customers now will have labs dedicated for single project use, and higher security through out the facility. We have continually proven our ability to turn projects from print to tool in 5 days and deliver a sample with in 10 days. This new facility will allow us to further improve the time tables and allow for dedicated space to work along side with the engineering staff of our customers.”
Carbon by Design plans to fully occupy the facility by the end of Quarter 4, 2005. Further improvements to the facility will include dedicated engineering and quality assurance labs as well as walk in refrigeration and curing ovens. Planned equipment purchases for the Oceanside facility include a CNC material cutting station, CNC machining center, and laser guided material ply placement technology.
