Mushroom Clouds: Coming to a Town Near You?
Loose nukes and Star Gate 9/11. Warp drives and wormholes. Vacuum reaction weapons. Skinwalkers and more. Starstream Research examines how the U.S. Government intends to leap beyond science fiction on a quest for the ultimate weapons. A preview of a multipart feature.
(PRWEB) January 22, 2006 -- Starstream Research uncovers new evidence that America's DIA psychic intelligence agents viewed information warning of the rise of Usama bin Ladin and the devastating attacks of September 11, 2001.
Thirty four years and millions of dollars later, CIA documents reveal the amazing success and failures of Star Gate, the formerly top secret intelligence agency programs used to "remote view" information that couldn't be accessed by any normal means of collection. Among the latest finds, a 1987 CIA released DIA document that identifies "Project 911," and drawings that strongly resemble Usama bin Ladin before and after the 9/11 attacks. Readers can view some of the original declassified CIA and DIA documents and drawings at the Starstream Research web site:
www.starstreamresearch.com
Psychic war on terror
According to British author and filmmaker Jon Ronson, following the 9/11 attacks, psychic Uri Geller was reactivated into the ranks of intelligence agency psychic spy. Ronson claims that Uri Geller was reticent to speak of his work with the American CIA, but broke down and revealed one interesting tidbit of information. Ronson claims that Uri told him that the name of the man who reactivated his mental powers for intelligence was called Ron. Ronson also writes that America's DIA trained psychic intelligence sources are viewing mushroom clouds over numerous cities in the homeland. Taken in tandem with the constant internet rumors of loose nukes, the psychic spies may have been secretly reactivated.
Weird Science
One unnamed high level source has confirmed that paranormal data was discussed by members of an elite government committee. The source confirmed that the strange events investigated by Las Vegas businessman Bob Bigelow's National Institute of Discovery Sciences (NIDS) have been the topic of discussion between members at DIA sponsored meetings on the threats of emerging technologies.
Dr. Eric Davis, author of a highly controversial report on teleportation commissioned by the U.S. Air Force, has also been very forthcoming answering questions about observations of strange creatures and other anomalous phenomena made by NIDS personnel at Bigelow's Skinwalker Ranch. The Skinwalker is a shape shifting being said to haunt this remote part of Utah near Salt Lake City. Strange creatures, strange objects, floating black triangles, animal mutilations, disintegrated dogs, telepathic messages - a smorgasbord of every strange and imaginable terror has been served to those unfortunates spending any period of time at the ranch, as reported in "Hunt for the Skinwalker" by former NIDS staff scientist Colm A. Kelleher, and veteran UFO reporter George Knapp. In the Air Force report Davis examines potential scientific explanations for the weird phenomena, including spacetime wormholes, teleportation, and manipulation of the quantum vacuum.
Vacuum reaction weapons
According to Stanford Professor Leonard Susskind, the laws of physics emerge from a vast infinite cosmic landscape of the quantum vacuum. At least one Russian physicist has been writing about altering the laws of physics since the early 1990's. Given that the laws of physics are encoded in the cosmic landscape, they appear to be safely protected from human tampering. On the other hand, any experiment that accidentally ruptures the wall of our universe might create an unstoppable vacuum reaction, spreading out at the speed of light. It is well known that such a vacuum reaction would not only destroy the entire earth, the sun, and all of the stars in our galaxy, it would eventually destroy the entire observable universe.
The primary conceptual basis for the Space Time Threat Assessment Reports comes from the reports of anomalous information appearing within human perception. Copies of some of original CIA STAR GATE documents, including "Project 911" and predictions of terror attacks using airplanes can been seen at the Starstream Research website.

Time for a Triple Play!
Southwest Airlines Will Offer Triple Credit for Travel Between Love Field and Missouri Destinations
Dallas (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) January 19, 2005 00 Over the next three months, Southwest Airlines' (NYSE: LUV) Rapid Rewards Members who book travel on southwest.com or SWAbiz.com between Dallas Love Field and St. Louis or Kansas City will receive triple credit in the carrier's popular frequent flier program.
"To celebrate our new nonstop service between Love Field and our two Missouri destinations, we felt a triple play was in order -- three cities, triple credit, for three months," said Debra Benton, Southwest's Director of Loyalty Marketing. "We know that our Rapid Rewards Members are delighted that Missouri is now excluded from the constraints of the Wright Amendment, and they will enjoy flying nonstop between Dallas and St. Louis or Kansas City. And, our low $79* (see *Fare Rules) one-way fare is the icing on the cake!"
To book these flights, go to: http://www.southwest.com/jp/luvhome.shtml?src=PR_triplecredit011906
President George W. Bush recently signed a transportation appropriations bill containing language that exempts Missouri from federal restrictions placed on Dallas Love Field airport. This exemption made it possible for Southwest Airlines, the signature carrier at Love Field, to initiate new nonstop jet service in December from Dallas to its Missouri operations in Kansas City and St. Louis with four daily nonstop flights to each city.
Beginning today, Southwest will offer Members of its Rapid Rewards frequent flyer program three credits for each one-way flight booked between Dallas and St. Louis or Kansas City on southwest.com or SWAbiz.com and flown by April 30, 2006. Since it normally only takes 16 credits in 24 months to receive an Award on Southwest Airlines, with this deal you could be flying free in as few as three roundtrips!
In addition, Southwest's Preferred Partner, Alamo Rent A Car, is offering triple credit to sweeten the deal. Members who rent with Alamo will receive triple Rapid Rewards credit (1.5 credits vs. the standard 0.5 credits per rental) for any vehicle rental of two or more days in Dallas, Kansas City, or St. Louis from now through April 30, 2006. All details on this deal can be found at southwest.com.
For seven straight years in a row, Southwest Airlines was honored with first place for Best Award Redemption at InsideFlyer magazine's 17th annual Freddie. The airline has won this honor each of the seven years that the magazine has awarded it. Along with the Best Award Redemption, Southwest received first place awards for Best Customer Service and Best Bonus Promotion.
*Fare Rules
Tickets must be purchased seven days before departure. Fares are available one-way and are combinable with all other fares. When combining fares, all ticketing restrictions apply. Seats are limited and will not be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times and holiday periods. Fares do not include a federal segment tax of $3.30 per takeoff and landing. Fares do not include airport-assessed passenger facility charges (PFC) of up to $9 one-way and U.S. government-imposed September 11th Security Fees of up to $5 one-way. Fares are subject to change until ticketed. Tickets are nonrefundable but may be applied toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest Airlines. Fares are valid on Southwest-operated published, scheduled service only and are not available through the Group Desk. Any change in itinerary may result in an increase in fare.

Enterprise Logix, LLC Announces Introduction of Logix/Great Plains Interface
Enterprise Logix, LLC has implemented what is believed to be the world’s first real-time, seamless interface between a full featured ERP application and Microsoft Great Plains Accounting.
Melbourne, FL (PRWEB) January 18, 2006 -- Enterprise Logix, LLC announces introduction of Logix/Great Plains interface.
Enterprise Logix, LLC has implemented what is believed to be the world’s first real-time, seamless interface between a full featured ERP application and Microsoft Great Plains Accounting. The solution has been in use for six months at GlobeCast NA headquarters in Miami, FL.
The Logix/Great Plains interface provides seamless transaction processing between all supply chain and logistics transactions within Logix and the sales, purchasing, and general ledger modules within Great Plains.
*The Challenge*
GlobeCast NA provides scheduled broadcast services to corporate customers who need to push video communications to geographically dispersed employees and agents. They also provide the installation and maintenance of remote receiving hardware and provide event broadcasts via satellite.
GlobeCast faced the challenges of tracking inventory, in-house and in the field, dispatching third-party field service technicians and tracking their activities, scheduling and performing multiple broadcasts simultaneously, and at the end of the process, managing vendor invoices and invoicing their own customers. These challenges were compounded by their use of multiple databases of information that were not linked, resulting in significant manual and redundant transaction processing.
*The Solution*
GlobeCast turned to Enterprise Logix to implement the Logix ERP solution. GlobeCast also contracted with a Great Plains VAR (Value Added Reseller) to implement Great Plains Accounting.
The Logix implementation went live March 15, 2005, meeting the promised implementation schedule. Because of the exemplary performance in the implementation of Logix, Enterprise Logix was subsequently selected over the Great Plains VAR to develop and implement the interface between Logix and Great Plains.
The Logix/Great Plains interface automatically transfers all sales order, purchase order, and inventory transactions from Logix to Great Plains. Customer invoices, credit memos, purchase vouchers, and journal entries recording all purchase variances and inventory transactions are automatically created in Great Plains for review prior to posting.
From start to finish, the interface was designed, developed, tested, and implemented in less than 90 days.
Tom Reiss, Senior Vice President of GlobeCast NA, had this to say about Enterprise Logix’ performance -
“Please allow me to extend a heartfelt appreciation for implementing Enterprise Logix’ systems at GlobeCast. Your enthusiasm and ability to motivate people has resulted in a significant increase in our productivity and our customers’ satisfaction. We want you to know that we are very pleased with the quality of service your company provides and we sincerely appreciate your responsiveness and the way you conduct business. We look forward to doing business with you for years to come.”

As USERRA Deadline Hits, HR.BLR.com Poll Finds Majority of Employers Not Ready for New Military Employment Rights
The first comprehensive regulations ever issued describing the employment and reemployment rights of military service members under federal law become effective for all employers today. A HR.BLR.com poll finds that almost half of employers are unprepared.
Old Saybrook, CT. (PRWEB) January 18, 2006 -- Only one-third of employers are fully prepared for important new regulations that become effective this week governing the employment and reemployment rights of military service members, according to a poll at HR.BLR.com.
Final regulations under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994, as amended (USERRA) were issued by the Department of Labor (DOL) in December of 2005. These are the first comprehensive regulations ever issued describing the employment and reemployment rights of military service members under federal law. The final regulations become effective for all employers on January 18, 2006.
Asked “How prepared are you for the new USERRA regs that become effective January 18?” just 33 percent of HR.BLR.com visitors responded that they were “Completely prepared” for the regulations. Another 24 percent responded that they were “Somewhat prepared.”
Meanwhile, over a quarter (26 percent) of respondents said that they didn’t know whether they were prepared and 17 percent said they were “Not at all prepared” for the regulations.
The early January poll on the Business & Legal Reports (BLR) website drew responses from 324 human resource professionals.
Almost half are unsure – or unprepared – for important new military reemployment rights changes.
“Nearly half of respondents confessed to either not knowing whether they were prepared or being flat out unprepared,” said Chris Ceplenski, HR.BLR.com editor. “With the deadline now here, these results indicate many employers have their work cut out for them to ensure their policies and practices regarding employees serving in the military are in compliance.”
USERRA Resource Center
To help employers understand USERRA’s legal requirements, BLR offers a USERRA Resources Center. The Center includes the text of the regulations, a downloadable “USERRA Rights Notification” poster (issued in conjunction with the new regs) as well as news articles, white papers, and sample policies. Visit BLR’s USERRA Resources Center at http://hr.blr.com/collection.cfm/collection/9/source/PRS/effort/812

Read the Fine Print When Choosing a Rewards Credit Card
Like getting cash back, frequent flyer miles, or other rewards when you use your credit card? If so, check the fine print on card offers to make sure that what you think you're getting is what you actually get. Here are seven tips to keep in mind when searching for a credit card that pays you back, according to industry Web site IndexCreditCards.com.
CLEVELAND (PRWEB) January 18, 2006 -- Like getting cash back, frequent flyer miles, or other rewards when you use your credit card? If so, check the fine print on card offers to make sure that what you think you're getting is what you actually get. Here are seven tips to keep in mind when searching for a credit card that pays you back, according to industry Web site IndexCreditCards.com (http://www.indexcreditcards.com):
1. If you carry a balance on your credit card, do not get a rewards credit card. First things first. Most rewards credit cards have higher interest rates than non-rewards cards. If you carry a balance on your cards, it is almost impossible to earn more from rewards than you will pay out in extra interest charges. However, if you pay off your cards in full each month, read on.
2. Beware the words “up to”. When searching for cards that pay cash rebates, look for offers that promise a “full” percentage rebate, such as a “full 1% rebate.” If a card says you can earn “up to” a certain percentage, that usually means you’ll earn much less until your yearly purchases reach very high levels.
3. Don’t just look at points offered -- check the cost of rewards, too. Most consumers looking for a rewards card look at how many points or miles they can earn. But what are those points getting you? In most rewards programs, a point earned equals a penny in actual spending power. In other words, 5,000 rewards points equals about $50. So, if your credit card’s program is charging you 10,000 points to get a $50 gift card, start looking for a better offer. Similarly, most airline rewards cards give free flights when you reach 25,000 points. If your card requires more, you’re not getting the best deal.
4. If you don’t charge much, choose a card that offers quick rewards. An airline rewards card can be great if you charge a lot to your card, but if you don’t, it could be years before you qualify for a free flight. If you don’t purchase with credit cards very often, look for a card that offers rewards at low point levels. Many cards offer rewards with as few as 1,000 points -- retail gift cards, small electronics and appliances, jewelry and more can be yours without having to hoard points for years.
5. Use gas rebate credit cards only at “true” gas stations. Given recent gas prices, gas rebate cards are very popular. They’re generous, too, giving as much as a full 5% back on gas purchases. But watch out: most gas credit cards give the big rebates on purchases at traditional gas stations only. If you make your gas purchases at wholesale clubs, supermarkets, or other locations that don’t fit the card’s guidelines, your reward becomes a whole lot smaller.
6. Avoid annual fees, unless... In most cases, paying an annual fee for a rewards credit card defeats the purpose of the card. If you have to pay $40 per year for the card, you aren’t actually earning anything until you’ve charged over $4,000 to the card. However, if a card offers you an extra incentive to pay a fee, such as double airline miles on purchases, it could be worth the cost, especially if you pile up big charges on your card.
7. Check for earnings caps and point expirations. In most instances, there is a limit to how much you can earn with a rewards credit card. Make sure you know what that limit is, especially if you put a lot of charges on your card. For example, it’s great to get 5% back on gas purchases, but if your card stops paying when you hit $300, anything you charge over $6,000 per year would earn nothing. Also, be sure to understand if your points will expire at some point in the future – you don’t want to rack up points only to see them disappear unused.
“Do it right and you can earn significant rewards without paying your credit card company a cent,” says Justin McHenry, Research Director of IndexCreditCards.com. “But if you have trouble making your credit card payments, focus on getting the lowest interest rate and don’t let rewards entice you.”
About IndexCreditCards.com
IndexCreditCards.com offers credit card news, research, and perhaps the most comprehensive index of credit cards available on the Internet today, with a master listing of over 700 credit cards as well as categorized lists based on interest rates, reward programs, business credit cards, student credit cards and credit cards for those with poor credit histories.

Recent Data Security Breaches Highlight the Need for Data Encryption Encryption Fights Threat of Identity Theft and Protects Brand Value
During the last three weeks, Peoples Bank, Atlantis Hotel & Casino and Marriott announced breaches affecting more than 345,000 consumers. When thieves steal information from corporations, they also steal valuable company assets: business intelligence, brand equity and self-determination over IT investments. Encryption protects data and guards brand equity, and the Encryption Anywhere platform from GuardianEdge provides an enterprise framework for flexible, scalable to encrypting and managing access to data on enterprise PCs, PDAs, smart phones and removable storage devices.
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) January 17, 2006 -- What do Peoples Bank, Atlantis Hotel & Casino in the Bahamas and Marriott have in common? Each organization was recently the subject of negative publicity concerning data security breaches that affected nearly 345,000 consumers, increasing concerns about identity theft and potentially harming each company’s reputation.
During the last three weeks, Peoples Bank warned of a security breach affecting approximately 90,000 customers, Atlantis announced a breach of about 55,000 guest records and Marriott announced a breach affecting more than 200,000 customers.
“When thieves steal information from corporations, they rob enterprises of valuable assets: business intelligence, brand equity and self-determination over IT investments,” says Alan Fudge, CEO of GuardianEdge Technologies, a market leader in reducing the cost and complexity of network and data security for large enterprises. “These assets have a quantifiable monetary value and are vital for sustaining a competitive advantage.”
Encryption is the fundamental enabling technology for protecting data and guarding brand equity, according to Fudge. “Encryption gives an organization the power to stay ahead of criminals, competitors and regulators, transforming the ball-and-chain of data security into a driving strategic advantage.”
Historically, encryption has been used as a point solution, installed on specific systems and for a limited number of individuals. Today, however, encryption is required at every level of the enterprise. The stumbling block for most companies has been to find a scalable, manageable technology that encrypts data everywhere: in email and on hard drives, removable storage devices, and PDAs.
The Encryption Anywhere™ data protection platform from GuardianEdge eliminates this barrier.
The Encryption Anywhere platform provides a flexible, scalable approach to encrypting and managing access to data on enterprise PCs, PDAs, smart phones and removable storage devices, and it employs a single management tool that plugs directly into Microsoft® Active Directory.
“Encryption Anywhere allows an enterprise to use encryption pervasively without the need to invest in additional management tools, network infrastructure or professional certifications. The results are strong protection of business data, enhanced value of the organization’s reputation, and greater control over the enterprise’s IT investment,” says Fudge.

Enterprise Logix Introduces Revolutionary Pricing Structure for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software
One of the more frustrating experiences customers encounter when reviewing ERP software for purchase is getting to a quick, easy-to-understand, bottom-line price. “At Enterprise Logix, we asked ourselves ‘Why?’ Why can’t ERP software be priced in a simple, easy-to-determine format that anyone can understand and calculate in a matter of seconds?”
Melbourne, FL (PRWEB) January 16, 2006 -- One of the more frustrating experiences customers encounter when reviewing ERP software for purchase is getting to a quick, easy-to-understand, bottom-line price. For decades, ERP software pricing has been as difficult to decode as deciphering messages encrypted by the CIA.
Frank Hamelly, Director of Sales and Marketing, says, “At Enterprise Logix, we asked ourselves ‘Why?’ Why can’t ERP software be priced in a simple, easy-to-determine format that anyone can understand and calculate in a matter of seconds?”
The answer was – It can. And Enterprise Logix has done just that.
Why did Enterprise Logix do it? Very simply – they decided it was the fair and equitable way to price their products. After years spent on the other side of the negotiating table with ERP providers, Enterprise Logix’ principals decided to do business differently - to the benefit of their customers.
Pricing Mystified
There are several elements that make up the typical ERP system quote –
- The software license fee
- The per-module license fee
- The per-module per-seat license fee
- The per-user license fee
- 3rd party add-on license fee(s)
- The annual maintenance fee
- 3rd party add-on annual maintenance fee(s)
- Technical support fee
- 3rd party add-on technical support fee(s)
- Etc, etc . . .
You get the picture. Pricing can be a challenge even for the provider because a substantial amount of information about the customer’s operation is needed to really understand what modules and 3rd party add-on software they should quote. Getting an accurate quote before extensive discussion with the vendor or Value Added Reseller (VAR) is quite difficult. And dealing with a VAR complicates matters even further because it adds another layer of complexity in the negotiation process.
In many cases the customer is sold more application than necessary because defining the true functional requirements is difficult prior to the Business Process Review stage, which comes after the software purchase. Is it any wonder many ERP systems are never fully implemented or utilized and that customers find the whole experience less than gratifying? Does the customer ever get credit back for unused/unneeded modules?
Pricing Simplified
Enterprise Logix has simplified the pricing issue by offering:
- Flat-rate software pricing. No per-module pricing, no per-seat fees. ALL functionality provided for unlimited users at one low price. No surprises.
- Flat-rate annual maintenance pricing, unlimited technical support for one low price. Again, no surprises.
- Comprehensive functionality with no 3rd party add-ons necessary.
- No dealing with Value Added Resellers.
Let’s hit each of these points in more detail.
Flat-rate software pricing with no per-module or user fees eliminates the need for precise functional requirements definition prior to getting a price quote. That’s because the customer doesn’t have to pick and choose functionality. ALL functionality is included in Logix’ price, as is access for unlimited users. A customer can purchase the entire Logix ERP solution and grow into it as needed, with no penalty, ever. The vast majority of ERP providers charge additional license fees for more functionality and additional users.
Enterprise Logix makes pricing simple and straightforward. They even publish Logix’ pricing on their website www.enterpriselogix.com/pricing.aspx.
Flat-rate annual maintenance pricing with unlimited technical support. Most providers charge annual maintenance fees as a percentage of their LIST price for license fees. Even if a discount is negotiated for the license fees, annual maintenance is still based on the list price. Varying levels of technical support are typically available with pricing based on the level of support chosen.
Logix’ annual maintenance includes unlimited technical support. Simple. No surprises. No penalties for getting the help you need, when you need it.
No need for 3rd party add-on software. Logix includes all the functionality a typical small to medium-size business needs - from A to Z - and all the acronyms in between. PLM, ECO, CRM, SCM, MRP, CRP, SFC, RMA, SPC, QC/QA, BI, and so on. Even barcoding is included.
No dealing with VARs. Enterprise Logix sells only direct to customers. Their customers deal with people who know the software inside and out and have decades of experience in manufacturing and distribution. The added value that accrues from a deep understanding of a customer’s needs and real world experience just cannot be duplicated by most VARs. Also, dealing directly with the provider means customers get answers to their technical questions quickly, in 99% of the cases the same day.
Enterprise Logix’ desire is to truly revolutionize the way the ERP market prices their products and services and to take the mystery out of how those prices are calculated.

Mecmesin Moves Up a Weight Division
Mecmesin announces the launch of the MultiTest-i range of twin-column universal testing machines. Controlled by new generation Emperor software, the machines have been specifically designed for quality control testing in manufacturing industry.
Horsham, West Sussex, UK, (PRWEB) January 16, 2006 -- Mecmesin has launched two new computer-controlled, compressive and tensile testing machines for quality control testing in manufacturing industry. In quality control laboratories throughout the world Mecmesin single-column motorised test stands have already established themselves as the basis of cost-effective systems for assessing quality by measuring the response of samples to applied loads.
The introduction of the twin-column MultiTest 10-i and MultiTest 25-i materials testing machines now enables quality professionals to specify affordable, high performance Mecmesin equipment for testing significantly larger specimens to loads of up to 25,000 newtons. The new systems are controlled by Mecmesin’s, recently-enhanced and upgraded, ‘Emperor’ software which has been specifically designed for developing sophisticated procedures and analyses for testing manufactured products, components and materials, in tension or compression.
Both machines are driven by twin, pre-loaded, synchronised ballscrews. Each test frame has been designed to deliver unparalleled stiffness – often vital in high load, low elongation testing applications.
The increased load capacity and a 400mm gap between the columns allows much larger samples to be accommodated. To take full advantage of this increased capacity Mecmesin is also launching a new range of grips and fixtures necessary for such applications.

Generations of Family Photographs - Once Stacked In Shoe Boxes - Are Now Digitally Archived and Reprinted in Minutes
ShoeboxReprints.com safely scans 700 pictures in five minutes and is powered by Kodak's high-speed commercial scanners.
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) January 13, 2006 -- Families should not worry if they cannot mail roses and candy to troops serving our nation over Valentine’s Day. Instead, they can easily use ShoeboxReprints.com to safely preserve and share all their photo memories.
If Mitch Goldstone’s plan works, thousands of individual family photos - spanning generations and currently packed away in shoe boxes - will touch off an emotional Valentine’s Day next month for everyone, especially troops abroad serving our nation.
30minphotos.com, the California-based retail and online boutique photo service, founded in 1990 by Mitch Goldstone and Carl Berman, have launched a new division called: ShoeboxReprints.com. They use Kodak high-speed commercial scanners to instantly archive and preserve any size, double-sided picture - from wallets to 11x17 enlargements onto digital CDs . Easy ordering of Kodak-quality reprints, enlargements, contact sheets, online upload sharing and fulfillment are also available.
By safely preserving generations of family photos, ShoeboxReprints.com is the first to design this new business model for archiving large quantities of photographs. The cost is just $49.95 to scan up to 1,000 photos onto digital CDs in minutes and with same day mail order fulfillment. Military families receive free return delivery.
The Eastman Kodak Company's high-speed imaging scanner hardware and Kodak Image Capture Software technology is the engine behind this breakthrough commercial method to safely scan 700 photos (wallets - 11x17 enlargements) in 5-minutes. Goldstone said "This Kodak imaging technology compliments the keynote address at the recent Consumer Electronics Show by Kodak CEO Antonio Perez. Mr. Perez explained that 'consumers want the power to use their images to connect, create, preserve, entertain and inform. To that end, Kodak is committed to reinventing the digital imaging experience by pretty much changing everything that defines photography today and bringing ease-of-use to the next level.'"
Local retail customers receive their completed order in minutes; all mail order transactions are fulfilled the same business day.
Goldstone, a longtime leader in the photo imaging industry has a history of support for important local and national causes. After "9/11" he founded http://www.epiccusa.com where 5,000 people traveled to The Big Apple to support the airlines and New York City on Veteran’s Day, 2001. As an extension of his company’s involvement and dedication to military families, he co-founded "Operation Photo" last year to donate used-digital cameras to military families by partnering with the San Diego-based non-profit Operation Homefront which aids families of deployed soldiers and reservists.
"Now, we want to build upon that successful grassroots initiative," explained Goldstone, "especially because that campaign was so successful and garnered national media coverage, including a live interview on Fox Network News. This new program, while still involving pictures, is something that everyone can enjoy. After all, who doesn’t have generations of family photos stored away in shoe boxes just waiting to be revisited, reprinted and shared?"
ShoeboxReprints.com designed a special pre-Valentine’s Day program for all military families to include free U.S. Priority Mail return shipping to help defer costs for military families. Goldstone and Berman’s plan this time is to again help soften the effects of deployment by having family’s turn all their photo memories into digital files to electronically share with their loved ones stationed overseas who are protecting our country.
Imagine this Valentine’s Day, as service members open their email to view hundreds and even thousands of photos, representing generations of their favorite memories; each one reminding them why their mission to protect our nation is so imperative. ShoeboxReprints.com also provides 100% Kodak-quality photographic reprint and enlargement services for preserving and sending pictures, rather than just electronic images.
For complete information, order form and instructions on mailing your photos for same-day scanning onto high resolution (300 dpi, 1.5 - 2 MB files) visit: http://www.ShoeboxReprints.com. To receive free return delivery through May 30, 2006, on the downloadable order form, military families must indicate their affiliation and write the word "MILITARY" on the order form.
30 Minute Photos Etc., founded in 1990, is regularly featured by the national media. The company's president will address the International Photo Marketing Association's national convention in February to profile this new Kodak scanning technology. The company is also class representative and lead plaintiff in the multi-billion dollar antitrust litigation against Visa, MasterCard, Bank of America, Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, Wachovia, Wells Fargo and other major banks for alleged credit card merchant interchange price-fixing. More info available at: "The Credit Card Interchange Report - WayTooHigh.com" which Berman and Goldstone co-edit. Website: http://www.WayTooHigh.com.

HomelandDefenseStocks.com – Protecting Critical Infrastructure through Biometrics
HomelandDefenseStocks.com and www.BorderandPortSecurity.com, global investor and industry news portals for the homeland defense and security sector, provide an overview entitled “Protecting Critical Infrastructure through Biometrics”, discussing the utilization of biometric identification for the protection of critical infrastructure through screening and access control of key assets, borders and ports.
POINT ROBERTS, WA (PRWEB) January 12, 2006 -- www.HomelandDefenseStocks.com and www.BorderandPortSecurity.com, global investor and industry news portals for the homeland defense and security sector, provide an overview entitled “Protecting Critical Infrastructure through Biometrics,” discussing the utilization of biometric identification for the protection of critical infrastructure through screening and access control of key assets, borders and ports. Perspectives on key challenges, innovations and market direction are revealed by Sense Holdings, Inc., Motorola Inc., Identix, Inc., and Technest Holdings Inc. with insights provided by Brian Ruttenbur, Equity Research Analyst, for Homeland Security Technology with Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc.
“The main vulnerabilities of our critical infrastructure are the widespread use of inadequate personal identification systems and the pronounced absence of appropriate low-cost equipment for the detection of dangerous substances,” describes Dore Perler, CEO of Sense Holdings Inc. (OTCBB: SEHO).
Motorola’s (NYSE: MOT) Robert L. Horton, Director Strategic Product Marketing, Biometrics Business Unit explains, “Balancing these conflicting goals of economics and security demands a screening process that nets the bad guys while letting legitimate visitors through with minimal delay and inconvenience. This is where biometric technology comes in.”
Robert Tarini, Chairman and CEO of Technest Holdings (OTCBB:TCNH), sees an advantage to the development of biometric systems such as facial recognition that do not require an active effort on the part of the entrant as is the case with fingerprint systems, iris scanners, and palm readers.
The awareness of the need for effective access control continues to grow according to Frances Zelazny, Director of Marketing for Identix, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDNX) who states, “In the last year there has been a surge in the demand for fingerprinting services. This increase is directly tied to the fact that more and more people understand that granting someone a job such as a teacher, bus driver, federal employees etc. are going to require background checks to establish trust and identity before you let someone into your facility.”
Overview Excerpt: Protecting Critical Infrastructure through Biometrics

January 2006
Biometrics, an authentication technology that measures unique human characteristics as a way to confirm an individual’s identity, has been around for some time now; however since 9/11 this industry has received significant attention as a valuable addition to homeland security solutions. Biometric technology encompasses a range of identification measures such as fingerprints, palm readers, facial recognition, and retina scans as they work to minimize security risks in the protection of critical infrastructure and the screening of access through borders and ports.
Brian Ruttenbur, Equity Analyst, Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc. explains, “The United States Government continues to push the use of biometrics for border and port security, and this has been a very good thing for the biometrics industry.”

Customer Stories Drive Sales and Reduce Marketing Costs
Whether your company’s business objective is to drive sales, solidify brand awareness, attract buyers, position for a possible IPO or a combination of the above, customer stories power the kind of public relations momentum needed to support these goals.
(PRWEB) January 11, 2006 -- Whether your company’s business objective is to drive sales, solidify brand awareness, attract buyers, position for a possible IPO or a combination of the above, customer stories power the kind of public relations momentum needed to support these goals. For best results we like to generate an average of one customer story a month for our clients, and then reuse the material to leverage their PR investment through multiple placements of the same content.
To reduce marketing costs, a single customer story can be Search Engine Optimized then distributed on the news wires and RSS news feeds to contribute to a link building campaign; pitched to editors; posted on the company’s website; printed for in-house magazines; reprinted as leave-behind collateral for the sales team; and used in new product launches or in permission-based analyst presentations at top conferences. As long as they are combined with the right messaging, written as a solution – not an ad, and issued consistently, customer stories are a proven, simple and highly cost-effective way to generates sales leads and solidify a company’s brand.
Here are four privately held technology companies that have used Softscribe’s CustomerYieldSM customer story campaign to help:
• Grow successfully from a legacy company to a digital age rebranding to an acquisition;
• Accelerate growth from a product start-up mode to a $30 million acquisition;
• Generate a 30% increase in website hits through mining 100% customer loyalty maintained over three decades;
• Drive 24% growth increase for a second generation privately held company.
Vantis Corporation: From Legacy Company to Digital Age Rebranding to Acquisition
“Four years ago our strength as a company was our satisfied clients and our successes, but we were the best kept secret in the hotel industry. Implementing a systematic customer success story campaign, along with our other sales efforts, helped double the size of the business in two years,” said Kelly Blake, formerly president of Calgary-based Vantis International Corporation, previously VIP International Corporation, which launched a rebranding in October 2004. “We can tell everyone how good we are all day long, but it will never get traction until your clients tell the industry.” Blake noted that Vantis repurposed its customer stories in emails to industry influencers and by posting them on the Vantis website.
Vantis was acquired by TravelCLICK in October 2005.
Computas NA: From ‘Startup’ to Being Acquired for $30 Million
“We had been selling into the US government market for about 18 months when we brought Softscribe Inc. on board as a force multiplier. Their messaging and especially the customer stories have helped more than double our sales,” said Bill Wright, formerly president and CEO of Computas, NA and currently CTO of Troux Technologies. CollabWorx Receives US Army Contract to Integrate and Provide XMPP Interoperability between its Secure IM and its Secure Real-Time Collaboration Platform and Jabber IM and Groove Virtual Office
The contract granted to CollabWorx will provide for the 1st time a seamlessly integrated, secure, interoperable multi-vendor environment covering essentially all aspects of on-line collaboration: instant messaging from Jabber, real-time multi-user audio, video, and rich data collaboration from CollabWorx, and workplace-based collaboration and file exchange from Groove Networks, with the IETF-approved XMPP protocol and collaborative web services concept from CollabWorx providing critical integrative mechanism.
Syracuse, NY (PRWEB) December 31, 2005 -- CollabWorx announces that it received a contract whereby the Army Training Support Center (ATSC) has funded the US Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) to test and conduct an integration project between CollabWorx Secure Real-Time Collaboration (SRTC) Platform, Groove Virtual Office (GVO) and Jabber instant messaging product based on the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP). Project scope includes the development of an interoperable multi-vendor online collaboration framework and is slated for delivery in April 2006.
Currently at FORSCOM, two or more operational users simultaneously participate in the mission planning process without the need to be co-located linking Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) around the world. FORSCOM (Fort McPherson, GA)continues to pursue operational integration of JITC certified interoperable collaborative tools to support the Defense Collaboration Tool Suite (DCTS). FORSCOM provides an advanced interoperability testbed for collaboration products from many vendors. In spite of an intense effort by Department of Defense spearheaded by CIWG (Collaboration Interoperability Working Group), interoperable collaboration remains elusive, mostly due to lack of necessary standard protocols. The CollabWorx contract will provide for the 1st time a seamlessly integrated, secure, interoperable multi-vendor environment covering essentially all aspects of on-line collaboration including instant messaging from Jabber, real-time multi-user audio, video, and rich data collaboration from CollabWorx, and workplace-based collaboration and file exchange from Groove Networks, with the IETF-approved XMPP protocol and the collaborative web services concept from CollabWorx providing the critical integrative mechanism.
CollabWorx SRTC 3.0 is the only Audio/Videoconferencing solution to successfully pass the rigors of the DoD Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) and receive full Authority to Operate (ATO). Collabworx previously received full ATO on the U. S. Army Training Schools (ATSC) network in Ft. Eustis, VA within US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) on August 01, 2005. Also on that date, CollabWorx received a Certificate of Networthiness to run on the US Army's NETCOM networks. Building on this prior achievement, the process to secure approval for an Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) took only a few days and the SRTC software has been installed at FORSCOM Command and Control System (FCCS) inside the domain firewall at Ft. McPherson, GA. CollabWorx expects that its ATO will be extended to the entire integrated platform, thereby providing the US Army with a complete, secure, fully accredited on-line collaboration tool.
SRTC 3.0 strengths include: complete synchronous multipoint collaboration toolset using our patented event-based logic for data sharing; Single Sign On to integrated asynchronous resources; one-click escalation from Instant Messaging to multi-user audio/video and data conferencing; fully transparent end-to-end security eliminating need for Virtual Private Networks; excellent scalability due to the absence of server-based encryption/decryption; automated firewall traversal; superior multipoint video using a fraction of the bandwidth required by competitors’ solutions; extensibility allowing added sharing of complex data such as maps, imagery, media viewers, and 2D/3D models; as well as outstanding capability of the software to be embedded in portals, Learning and Content Management Systems and other web applications.
Founded in 2000, CollabWorx is a developer of cutting-edge enterprise-class real-time collaboration solutions. With HQ in Syracuse, NY, it sells licenses and professional services under GSA Schedule Contract GS-35F-0743R. Its products are available as hosted services, subscriptions, or perpetual licenses. They are also licensed to OEMs and ASPs, where they either embed into their applications or are provided as a standalone application. CollabWorx provides licenses, reseller agreements, consulting services, and software integration services to independent software vendors, ASPs, and system integrators. The Company’s customers include Computer Associates, Sprint, SAIC, CSC, Omega Training, GIST, H-P, C2TI, Raytheon, PEC and Metronet, as well as end-users such as NASA, US Army, and universities.

Galileo GIOVE-A Successful Launch with Marotta Propulsion Systems On-Board
Marotta UK, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has designed, developed and qualified equipment for the cold gas propulsion systems on board the Galileo GIOVE-A, part of Europe’s Galileo navigation program, successfully launched by Surrey Satellite Technology, Ltd. (SSTL).
Cheltenham, England (PRWEB) January 7, 2006 - Marotta UK, Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has designed, developed and qualified equipment for the cold gas propulsion systems on board the Galileo GIOVE-A, part of Europe’s Galileo navigation program, successfully launched by Surrey Satellite Technology, Ltd. (SSTL).
The launch of the Galileo GIOVE, the first in a constellation of 30 satellites, marks Europe’s maiden entry into civilian-owned global positioning systems. The complete Galileo constellation (27 operational and 3 active spares) will deliver real-time positioning accuracy down to one meter. By placing the satellites in orbit at a greater inclination to the equatorial plane than current global positioning systems, Galileo will achieve better coverage at high altitudes, which makes it suitable for use over northern Europe, an area presently not well covered by GPS.
With a lead time of only four months, Marotta worked in close collaboration with SSTL to improve performance of and re-qualify its heritage DMC flight-qualified hardware, and contributed to the success of the platform build program with on-time delivery of propulsion system equipment series redundant, specialty valves controlling the flow of gas to the thrusters, as well as high-performance valves for propellant loading during launch preparation.
“The Galileo GIOVE-A launch marks the beginning of a landmark program for the European community,” said Michael Leahan, Vice President and Chief Sales Officer of Marotta Controls, parent company of Marotta UK. “We are proud to contribute our heritage propulsion technologies to this long awaited and exciting program.”
