Advanced Polymer Alloys Names Zwick New Products Program Manager
Paul Zwick will lead development projects for non-halogenated elastomer products
WILMINGTON, Del. (PRWEB) September 28, 2005 -- Advanced Polymer Alloys (APA), a division of Ferro Corporation (NYSE: FOE) and the world’s leading supplier of Melt-Processible Elastomers™ (MPEs), today announced the hiring of industry veteran Paul Zwick as new products program manager.
Zwick, with 15-years experience in the thermoplastics industry, is responsible for developing APA’s new non-halogenated elastomer products based on styrenic block copolymers, olefin elastomers, and engineering elastomers. He is also responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for those materials. Among the existing products he will be responsible for is DuraGrip® TPE, a versatile material that enhances consumer and light industrial products through its elastomeric properties and features, including, when needed, a soft-touch feel. APA recently announced the availability of three new grades of DuraGrip TPE.
“Paul Zwick is a recognized expert in the thermoplastics industry,” said Jeff Senich, APA’s business development manager. “His knowledge will help APA expand its material solutions by developing and promoting new products that meet specific market needs,”
Before joining APA, Zwick worked for several large companies in the industry, including
MA Hanna (Cleveland and Atlanta), now PolyOne, A. Schulman (Akron, Ohio), GLS Corporation (Atlanta), and Dow Chemical (Houston). He held manager positions in multiple departments while at those companies, including product development, technical service and application development, product and project management, and sales and marketing. In the late 1990s, he managed his own consulting company of which APA was also a client.
Zwick’s background includes extensive experience in developing styrenic block copolymer compounds, engineering elastomer compounds, and TPVs. Areas of specialization include overmolding compounds, ultra-soft elastomers, flame retardant elastomers, and elastomer alloys.
