Bureau of Reclamation Implements Cyco AutoManager Meridian at Grand Coulee Dam

The Grand Coulee Dam in Washington is one of North America's largest infrastructure projects. Cyco Software announced today that the Bureau of Reclamation, in the U.S. Department of the Interior, has successfully implemented Cyco AutoManager Meridian to manage the engineering data and design documentation at its hydro-power facility at Grand Coulee Dam. A full case story about the implementation can be downloaded at http://www.data-core.com/case-studies.htm

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 24, 2022 -- Cyco Software, a leading provider of Engineering Data Management (EDM) solutions, announced today that the Bureau of Reclamation, in the U.S. Department of the Interior, has successfully implemented Cyco AutoManager Meridian to manage the engineering data and design documentation at its hydro-power facility at Washington's Grand Coulee Dam.

The Bureau of Reclamation is the largest wholesale water supplier and the second largest producer of hydro-electric power in the United States. The Grand Coulee Dam in Washington is one of the Bureau of Reclamation's largest infrastructure projects. Located on the main stem of the Columbia River about 90 miles west of Spokane, Washington, the barricade is 5,223 feet long, 550 feet high and contains 11,975,500 cubic yards of concrete.

To keep this enormous amount of concrete, powerlines, hydro systems, pumps and circuit breakers in top shape, the dam's engineering and maintenance groups are in charge of conducting continuous maintenance on the dam and its related power infrastructure. More than 300 people from different disciplines are involved, including engineering, maintenance and administration.

The CAD and Engineering department at the Grand Coulee Dam has successfully implemented Cyco AutoManager Meridian to keep more than 200,000 drawings that outline the dam under tight control. Clark Perman, CAD Manager, explains how Cyco AutoManager Meridian is saving the engineers time. "Right now, we have 45,000 records in Cyco AutoManager Meridian. We have about 10,000 CAD drawings in there and the rest are scanned images," he says. "It is much nicer to have the system do the searching for you than to go through a bunch of cards."

"Cyco AutoManager Meridian allows us to have up to date drawings at our fingertips no matter where we are on the project," he says.

DataCore Technology, an EDM consultant that specializes in the asset management needs of utilities around the country, helped the Bureau of Reclamation roll out and implement Cyco AutoManager Meridian. "DataCore has been terrific in helping to implement the system and supporting us along the way," says Perman. "The fact they're located remotely has never made any difference to the quality of their support. They've been timely, thorough and available."

Besides Cyco AutoManager Meridian's versatile searching tools, Perman is very satisfied with the product's workflow and Work Area features that facilitate communications between different disciplines. Work Areas are pre-defined stages in a workflow with a unique set of revision, security and editing settings.

"We have set up workflow in such a way that when an engineer checks out a drawing and locks it in his [Work Area he can make red and green changes to that drawing. What the electrician needs to take out is added in green and what needs to be added is in red," explains Perman.

Other features Perman likes are Cyco AutoManager Meridian's convenient file structure that allows people to easily create a drawing hierarchy to categorize drawings. He also mentions the title block-database synchronization as a great time-saver for his department. "I like how easy it is to change the items on the index cards and linking the title block information to the drawings. The synchronization is very nice."

Perman concludes that Cyco AutoManager Meridian has made a significant impact on the engineering's department daily operations. "Before we had data management, people had to come to our office to get the drawings. Taking into account that our project spreads 15 miles across, you can imagine how much time was wasted and how much we're saving now."

Visit http://www.data-core.com/case-studies.htm to download a case story about the implementation of Cyco AutoManager Meridian at Grand Coulee Dam.

Electrically Conductive Materials for Pad Printing Now Available from Creative Materials Inc

Applications include medical device and electronics manufacturing.

Tyngsboro, MA (PRWEB) February 24, 2022 -- Creative Materials Inc., a leading manufacturer of electrically conductive inks, coatings and adhesives, has announced the availability of new electrically conductive materials for use in pad printing applications. Pad printing is an innovative printing technology that makes it possible to print on curved, uneven or recessed surfaces, while producing a high quality ink transfer.

Asked why pad printing was better, Silvio Morano, President of Creative Materials explained, “Pad printing has been around for a long time, and was used primarily for decorative purposes; for instance, logos on bottle caps or labels on golf balls. This flexible printing process allows you to go around corners, into concave surfaces, or to print on convex surfaces.”

“With our products, you can now put an electrical circuit on many 3-D objects, not just circuit boards,” said Morano. “With pad printing, our customers can print finer lines at closer tolerances and with closer gaps between the lines. We’ve been able to do 4 mil (0.1 mm) lines with 4 mil (0.1 mm) spaces. So if somebody is developing a unique electronic device, perhaps something very compact, they are no longer limited by the need to have flat circuit board. They could print a circuit on a tube or a curved surface that fits more compactly into their device.”

Creative Materials makes a wide variety of electrically conductive inks for multiple applications. Some can be pad printed. Some inks are available in multiple formats for screen printing, pad printing, syringe dispensing, stenciling, or rotogravure printing (flexography).

“The thing that separates us from our competitors and makes us different is our customer service and our custom formulations. We have the unique ability to tailor our materials to meet the specific needs of the customer and we are able to provide technical support for a new application,” said Morano. “We have a broad base of existing materials that cover multiple applications and manufacturing techniques.”

About Creative Materials, Inc.
Creative Materials, Inc. develops and markets specialty chemical products to customers world-wide. Founded in 1986, Creative Materials has its headquarters and production facilities in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. Using Load-Helper™ Will Reduce this Road Debris

Spilled Lumber and Pipes are in the 40% Category of AAA’s Study on Road Debris. Using Load-Helper™ Will Reduce this Dramatically
Road Debris is the cause for many Accidents or Fatalities. For most of them, they could have been prevented if extra precautions were taken while securing a load. For every state there is a law that states a load must be secure. These laws are not being enforced because there is no product to help enforce them, Now There Is.

Corona, CA (PRWEB) February 23, 2022 -- You’re driving down the roadway and a truck hauling lumber, pipes and a ladder gets in front of you and if their load looks unsafe, your first thought is, “I have to get in front of him”. Why, because he might lose his load. If you’re driving behind a truck with the same load, but it is contained in a manner that will prevent it from slipping out, you will feel 100% safer.

www.load-helper.com features a unique Safety Product designed to prevent materials from slipping forward or backward. This will reduce the amount of construction-related road debris found on the roadways.

Load-Helper™ secures a load in a manner that was never thought possible. It is very simple to use. Securing a load just got easier.

In our research, every state spends millions of dollars a year on clearing Road Debris from the highways. AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety stated in a June 2004 study, “it can be estimated that Vehicle-Related Road Debris causes over 25,000 crashes per year and claims 81 to 90 lives per year”. Road Debris is an escalating problem for contractors, as they are spending money to repair or replace vehicles and materials that have been damaged due to a fallen load. If motorists strike road debris on the roadways, they are liable, unless they can identify the violator.

AAA Foundation President, Peter Kissinger stated in the Detroit Free Press on June 17, 2004, "Many of the crashes can be prevented if truckers and motorists secure their loads properly and report debris that they encounter on the road."

The Construction and Contractor Industries have changed dramatically throughout the years with better vehicles and better tie down materials, but the method of tying down materials has relatively stayed the same. There are various types of tiedowns, including straps, buckles, ratchets and many more. All these products will tighten your load, but what do you do if your load begins moving forward or backward? What is going to keep your materials from falling onto the roadways?

Each Load-Helper™ Cargo Enclosure comes with a Cargo Extension (for those extra long loads) and a pouch with a Red Warning Flag. They are available in Small, Medium and Large sizes making it suitable for all your loads. Load-Helper LLC has a patent pending on all of its Safety Products.

Future products include unique tiedowns for ladders, plywood and drywall.

Load-Helper LLC was founded on October 18, 2004. We pride ourselves in creating Safety Products that will improve the method of transporting materials. “Keep It Tite, Keep It Rite, Keep It Safe”

Thank you for all your feedback. Media appointments are being taken. To schedule an interview please contact:

Showcall Inc. Provides all Technical Elements for Presidential Inaugural Event

“A Celebration of Freedom Concert” on the Ellipse
Lighting, audio reinforcement, video and technical production management was provided for the Opening Ceremonies of the 2005 Presidential Inaugural by Showcall Inc., a Maryland based technical event production company.

(PRWEB) February 21, 2022 -- “No night is too cold to celebrate freedom” - a quote from President Bush as he stood on an uncovered stage in single digit temperatures to address thousands of attendees at the Celebration of Freedom Concert on the Ellipse in Washington DC

Lighting, audio reinforcement, video and technical production management was provided for this event by Showcall Inc., a Maryland based technical event production company.

“The Showcall team delivered a flawless event to us despite the crew and equipment having to brave heavy rain, sub-zero temperatures, biting wind and three inches of snow during the load in process on the Ellipse. These guys are just incredible” Said Jason Recher, a Managing Director of Events for the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

The event was designed to accommodate 65,000 attendees and included three LED video walls, a Martin Line array for the main and delay audio system as well as dozens of intelligent light fixtures. The stage, measuring 60’x100,’ was illuminated by BSL Productions using 28 Vari-Lite 3000 fixtures and 14 Vari-Lite 2000 fixtures, 70 ETC lekos and 30 Arri Fresnels.

Entertainment for the event included Ryan Seacrest as the host, and performances by Kenny Chesney, Adrea Bocelli and Yolanda Adams.

With the stage positioned to frame The White House as the backdrop for the event, planners did not want to obstruct the view with horizontal truss structures or a roof, elements that are usually standard for an outdoor event of this nature. Jim LaBarre of BSL Productions, Lighting Designer for the event, had the challenge of designing a lighting system to provide the even coverage and the footcandles necessary for a broadcast event of this nature using side trusses and a single downstage position 100’ from the downstage edge.

“It is an honor to be involved with a Presidential Inaugural, especially an event of this size and scope. It is a true testament to the crew, who kept all of the equipment running perfectly, not a single piece of gear failed during the show, in spite of being subjected to rain, wind, snow and freezing temperatures for over a week.” Said Blayne Candy, Technical Director for the event and Co-owner with Ajay Patil of Showcall Inc. and BSL Productions.

Showcall Inc. is a Maryland based technical event production company which specializes in Lighting, Audio Reinforcement, Video and Production Management for Corporate, Concert, Political and Fundraising events Nationally and Internationally.

A journalist from Radio-Canada did a video report revealing that that the installations of Hydro-Quebec on the Manicouagan river and to the James bay are very badly protected and basically gives a welcome message to terrorists to these installations. No cameras, no warning system have been found the site.

The journalist Christian Latreille and the cameraman Bernard Huard succeeded in penetrating, without being worried, in the heart of the power stations of Manic-5 and LG-2, which feed in electricity 1,5 million Inhabitant of Quebec.

The report shows that the gates of the power stations are not locked, that it is no agent of security there, that there are neither cameras of monitoring nor warning systems. In the video report we can even see the journalist Christian Latreille and the cameraman Bernard Huard approaching to the control panels without meeting, seeing or being interrupted by anybody.

To watch the video (with Windows Media Player) go to:

WeatherWise’s Risk Management is a formal structure to provide utilities offering fixed bill products with advanced risk management technology, and even more importantly, a guarantee of program performance. Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) February 16, 2022 -- WeatherWise USA announces the addition of Risk Management to its portfolio of products. WeatherWise is best known for its support of energy companies offering fixed bill products to their consumers. They provide the analysis critical to successful electric or gas fixed bill implementation by factoring in variability in usage patterns, weather, and energy prices. This results in reduced risks and operating costs to the energy companies and to their consumers. WeatherWise utilizes its proprietary computer models and expert analysis to provide appropriate fixed bill quotes for each individual consumer.

WeatherWise’s Risk Management is a formal structure to provide utilities offering fixed bill products with advanced risk management technology, and even more importantly, a guarantee of program performance. "We are confident of our capabilities in electric and gas fixed bill programs and are certain of our ability to manage all the underlying risks," states Rand Warsaw, CEO of WeatherWise USA. "So much so that we are willing to back our product by putting our own money at risk."

WeatherWise is no stranger to risk. Their entire business is built around energy risk management and financial engineering. “In any fixed bill program there are risks to the company offering the product, such as market penetration levels, energy purchasing, pricing, consumer behavior, and model issues that include temperature bias or selection bias, and numerous weather-hedging concerns," explains Severn Wright, Manager of Financial Engineering. "WeatherWise actively manages those risks and we work with our customers to control their specific risk factors.”

Board member Barry Fingerhut, of Wheatley Partners, sees the addition of Risk Management to the fixed bill product line as changing the entire competitive landscape. "Companies in the fixed bill support marketplace compete on the capabilities of their modeling technology," Fingerhut contends. "WeatherWise has proven the superior capability of their models. By adding Risk Management to their fixed bill support services, they've created a sustainable advantage. If I were an energy company offering a fixed bill program to my customers, I would want support from someone who is willling to back their work with their own money.”

TechNote Time Watch Company Announces the "Marriage" of AC and DC Ohm's Law

To complement its successful Ohm's law wristwatch line, TechNote Time Watch Company announces their newest timepiece for the Spring 2005 season.

(PRWEB) February 12, 2022 -- To complement its successful Ohm's law wristwatch line, TechNote Time Watch Company announces their newest timepiece for the Spring 2005 season.

There were two challenges TechNote Time wanted to meet with their newest product offering. Their first challenge was to satisfy the demand for a timepiece which incorporated both the AC and the DC Ohm's law formulas into one product. The second was to have a watch that electrical trade workers would not have to remove before working on live electrical circuits. TechNote Time's newest timepiece, the HangTime ACDC clip-on watch, is their solution to both challenges, and should be a big hit with electricians.

TechNote Time's branded product, the HangTime ACDC clip-on watch, lets electrical and electronics professionals clip the watch to their belt loop, truck mirror, toolbox or other convenient location that would allow them to refer to their Ohm's law formulas easily.

According to Jim Dorsey, the company's product design engineer, "Due to its rugged and heavy steel construction, its field durability is clearly obvious." Jim adds that, "In addition to being a handy 'tool' for any tradesman using Ohm's law formulas for both AC and DC applications, it is also an excellent training aid for those preparing for professional examinations."

The HangTime ACDC features DC Ohm's law and power formulas etched onto the flip down cover, and AC Ohm's law, power formulas and a resistor band color chart on the watch face itself. The new model is complemented with a silver finish and leather detail. The HangTime ACDC also features a Seiko movement, sweep-seconds hand and lifetime warranty. The MSRP for this product is $60.00.

TechNote Time Watch Company (www.technotetime.com), located in Ocala, Florida USA designs, produces, and markets specialty Ohm's law watches and clocks geared towards tradesmen in the electrical and electronics fields. New Grounding Coupling Prevents Shaft Current from Damaging AC Motor Bearings

Aegis™ Shaft Grounding Coupling prevents electrical damage to bearings of AC motors by safely passing harmful shaft current to ground. The cleanroom-quality bearing isolation with dust-proof seal also protects against water spray.

MECHANIC FALLS, ME (PRWEB) February 2, 2022 -- The revolutionary new Aegis™ Shaft Grounding Coupling (SGC) from Electro Static Technology prevents electrical damage to bearings of AC motors by safely passing harmful shaft current to ground. Extremely effective yet low-cost, the Aegis coupling provides an ultra-low impedance path from shaft to frame, allowing current induced by variable frequency drives (VFDs) to pass to ground without damaging motor bearings or the bearing race.

When variable frequency drives are used with AC motors, current is induced along the motor shaft. When it overcomes the resistance of the grease, this current discharges through the motor bearings causing frosting, pitting, fluting, and fusion craters which can lead to premature motor failure. With its patent-pending Electron Transport Technology™, the Aegis coupling solves this problem by providing a “virtual short” between the shaft and motor frame that keeps shaft current and voltage from building up in the first place. Easily installed and maintenance free, the Aegis coupling is a reliable, low-cost alternative to less effective mitigation schemes such as brushes.

In addition to eliminating damaging shaft current, the Aegis SGC provides cleanroom-quality bearing isolation with a dustproof seal that also protects against water spray. Developed initially for 5 to 15 HP NEMA motors (the largest installed base of motor/drive applications), the Aegis SGC is ideal for HVAC, cleanroom, petrochemical, manufacturing, transportation, and other applications where VFDs are used. Additional sizes will be available in the immediate future.

Electro Static Technology is a global leader in the elimination and/or mitigation of induced electrical charges. Other products include FLX-P™ flexible peel-and-stick passive static eliminators for printers, copiers, and other imaging devices. Electro Static Technology is a division of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), a $10 billion multinational conglomerate operating in 44 countries.

Fuji Novel Batteries Actively Seeks Additional Retail Partners

Internationally-Known Battery Manufacturer Announces New Emphasis on Markets in the Americas
Fuji Novel Batteries, one of the largest manufacturers of batteries for portable electronics and digital cameras worldwide, announces a new emphasis on markets throughout the Americas, with an overall goal of significantly boosting its retail presence for the Fuji Novel line of high-performance line of Super Alkaline, Lithium Photo, Lithium Coin Cell and Button Cell, as well as Super Heavy Duty batteries. As a part of this effort, Fuji Novel is actively seeking new and additional retail partners to take on the Fuji Novel-branded line.

(PRWEB) February 1, 2022 -- Fuji Novel Batteries, one of the largest manufacturers of batteries for portable electronics and digital cameras worldwide, announces a new emphasis on markets throughout the Americas, with an overall goal of significantly boosting its retail presence for the Fuji Novel line of high-performance line of Super Alkaline, Lithium Photo, Lithium Coin Cell and Button Cell, as well as Super Heavy Duty batteries. As a part of this effort, Fuji Novel is actively seeking new and additional retail partners to take on the Fuji Novel-branded line.

“Fuji Novel batteries are known throughout the world for their superior performance characteristics,” notes Russ Bongiorno, Vice President of Marketing at Fuji Novel Batteries. “Until recently our retail penetration in the United States and throughout the Americas has been somewhat limited. However, we are committed to change that fact by introducing retailers to the benefits of stocking the Fuji Novel line.”

One of the benefits that Bongiorno plans to educate retailers about is the opportunity to make significantly higher profit margins versus the two nationally advertised battery brands. “Once retailers see that they can place Fuji Novel batteries either side-by-side, or within proximity of one of the leading national brands, and that a significant number customers will choose Fuji Novel, they are sure to stock a number of our SKUs,” said Bongiorno.

Bongiorno further explains, “As consumers’ brand loyalties migrate from product loyalty to destination loyalty, retailers large and small are commanding stronger and stronger customer loyalty. With this migration comes an increased consumer willingness to choose among several different brands – creating significant inroads for retailers who offer a choice in well-positioned name brands such as Fuji Novel – brands that can earn them additional profits.”

In addition to the opportunity to make additional profits and higher margins, Fuji Novel will also provide retailers who take on the line with a variety of merchandising opportunities and promotional incentives, including advertising and public relations money and support. “We have a reputation for tailoring just the right promotional incentives to suit the particular market segment in which the retailer operates,” notes Bongiorno.

Worldwide demand for the batteries that power so many of the devices that we seem to take for granted – from personal digital assistants to digital cameras to CD players – is seemingly endless. In fact, industry analysts put North American demand for disposable Alkaline batteries at almost $4 billion annually. As this hotly-contested category continues to heat up, retailers have a tremendous opportunity to choose suppliers that can help them to boost profits and build margins.

“In the highly competitive, device driven battery business, it makes sense for retailers to carry a second – or even a third – branded line, in addition to one of the national leaders, which can be a lower cost, higher margin alternative,” says Bongiorno.

All Fuji Novel Alkaline batteries offer superior performance characteristics. Today's portable consumer electronic products like digital cameras and MP3 players are more sophisticated and require more power. As today's high-tech handheld electronics incorporate higher-speed digital processing, their hunger for battery power grows dramatically. Therefore the demands on portable power sources, especially Alkaline batteries, are skyrocketing.

State-of-the-art techniques and materials enable Fuji Novel to produce batteries of the highest quality and longest life to meet the needs of today’s consumer electronic devices. Through the use of an innovative technology that incorporates an advanced cathode material with more electrolytes in its Alkaline batteries, Fuji Novel ushered in a new era of high performance portable power. In fact, recent independent tests conducted by the ACTS Testing Laboratory, showed that Fuji Novel AA batteries either matched or outlasted more recognized battery brands.

Fuji Novel meets the highest manufacturing standards, ensuring superior product performance worldwide. All Fuji Novel batteries undergo rigorous quality control tests that ensure exceptional operation and superior consistency, providing outstanding value for consumers every hour of every day in a myriad of portable power uses all over the world.

For over 50 years, Fuji Novel Batteries has been recognized as a market leader and innovator in the hyper-competitive battery industry. Fuji Novel pioneered the launch of Carbon Zinc battery technology in 1950, and was first to develop and market a line of Manganese batteries, launching the product line in 1969. An environmentally-conscious company, Fuji Novel was the first battery manufacturer to produce 100% Mercury Free Formula and Cadmium-free batteries. Fuji Novel manufacturers and markets batteries under its own internationally-recognized brand, and is the leading manufacturer of private-label batteries worldwide.

Fuji Novel batteries are available in a wide variety of SKUs, and include a full range of lithium, Alkaline and Super Heavy Duty dry cells.
