KUA Crews Head to South Florida
Kissimmee Utility Authority sent repair crews to Fort Pierce, Fla. on Oct. 25 to assist with power restoration in areas devastated by Hurricane Wilma.
Kissimmee, FL (PRWEB) October 27, 2005 -- Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) sent repair crews to south Florida on Oct. 25 to assist with power restoration in areas devastated by Hurricane Wilma.
As part of its mutual-aid agreement with utilities throughout the state, KUA sent 10 linemen, six vehicles and several thousand pounds of supplies to assist Fort Pierce Utilities Authority (FPUA) with the restoration of power.
The hurricane left 94 percent of FPUA's 25,000 customers without electric service.
KUA completed power restoration to 4,124 of its own customers in Kissimmee on Oct. 24.
Founded in 1901, KUA (www.kua.com) is Florida's sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
