The brand-new CN-MPOLED player is the latest addition to the recently introduced Canyon Premium series, and has been specifically designed to address the needs of the demanding music lovers preferring mobile devices that offer higher quality and reliability.

CN-MPOLED reproduces MP3/WMA files with VBR support (32 Kbps – 320 Kbps). VBR (Variable Bit Rate) files are becoming increasingly popular, as they yield a lower bitrate for a given sound quality. A lot of music files that are downloaded from the internet are now encoded using VBR. At present the decoders that do not support them are considered sub-standard and out-of-date.

The brand-new digital music player includes MP3 player, voice recorder, Flash memory storage (512MB or 1GB), and FM radio with 30 presets and region selection. The device offers a comfortable hand grip, while its large buttons provide easy access to music files and all available features. At the touch of a button, users can customize the sound with six equalizer presets (User/Jazz/Classic/Rock/Pop/Normal) or switch on SRS sound effect.

The new device features a state-of-the-art two-color OLED display (128x64). OLED stands for organic light-emitting diode which is a recent technology allowing the production of super-thin displays of stunning quality which do not require any power-consuming backlight. These displays use specially designed carbon-based molecules that emit light when electric current passes through them.

The high-contrast yellow and blue OLED display built into the Canyon’s player will surely make a difference for those users who want to complement the enjoyable music with eye-pleasing display information. Another pleasant fact is that the display supports long file names and multiple languages.

Users can quickly download MP3 or WMA files from their computers. The unit is fully plug-and-play compatible with computers running Microsoft Windows 98 or later. In addition to the USB cable, its accessories include earphones, software disk, battery, quick guide, necklace, carrying case and line-in cable. Apart from being used as an MP3 player, this device can obviously be used as a high-capacity USB drive. The player measures 42x80x23mm and weighs just 35g (without battery). It runs on 2 AAA alkaline batteries supporting over 20 hours of continuous play.
