Founded by Ray Stevens in 1960, as a communications company, Selectron’s first product was the first commercial telephone-answering machine. The product, called AnsaPhone, was a mechanical product that lifted the handset up and positioned it over an answering machine, which would then play a recorded greeting and record a message.
In 1978, Selectron installed its first security system for First National Bank of Oregon (First Interstate Bank). The system was the first proximity card access control system installed in the State of Oregon using new technology from Schlage Electronics. Since 1978, Selectron has grown to be the largest system integration company in the region. In 2003 and 2004, Selectron was recognized in Security Dealer Magazine as one of the nation’s Top 100 Integrators.
