Cal-Chip High Voltage MLCC Caps Now Available in Voltages from 250 V to 10 kV

Cal-Chip Electronics, Inc., announced the expansion of the CHV Series of high voltage multilayer ceramic chip (MLCC) capacitors to include those with voltages of up to 10 kV.

Ivyland, PA (PRWEB) April 27, 2005 -- Cal-Chip Electronics, Inc., a premier manufacturer of quality surface mount passive components, announced the expansion of the CHV Series of high voltage multilayer ceramic chip (MLCC) capacitors to include those with voltages of up to 10 kV. Featuring chips in 8 EIA sizes ranging from 0603 to 8060 and in COG (NPO), X7R, and Y5V/Z5U dielectric, the CHV Series boasts low ESR, excellent frequency response, and excellent mechanical strength. Notably, they moreover feature excellent volumetric efficiency and stability of capacitance with temperature due to their unique construction process.

Commonly specified for surge suppression and temperature compensation in high voltage applications where PC board space is limited, these new capacitors are an ideal choice for wireless and portable products including notebook computers, cellular phones, PDAs, camcorders, VCRs, telecommunications and test equipment.

These MLCC caps are provided in voltages within the ranges of 250 V to 10 kV, and in capacitances ranging from 1.0 pF to 1.2 uF. Chips further possess an operating temperature of ¡V55o C to +125o C, with Temperature Coefficient of Capacitance (TCC) of +/-15%/oC for X7R dielectric, 0 +/- 30 ppm/oC for COG dielectric, and +22 to ¡V56%/C„a for Y5V and Z5U dielectric. Additional specifications may be downloaded from http://www.calchip.com/pdf/CHVseries_2004.pdf.

Cal-Chip¡¦s CHV Series of MLCC capacitors are available in tape and reel packaging. Depending on specifications, prices range from $0.01 to $10.00 each in production quantities. Delivery is from stock to 10 weeks.
