CanAlaska Identifies Multiple Uranium Zones North East Athabasca Project, Saskatchewan

Canalaksa Ventures has defined fourteen anomalous zones.

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) August 30, 2005 -- CanAlaska Ventures Ltd. (TSX.V-CVV: OTCBB-CVVLF) www.canalaska.com, Toll Free 1.800.667.1870, is pleased to report the first quantitative results from uranium exploration and sampling at the Company's North East Athabasca Project. This large project consists of 490,340 acres (1984 km2) and straddles the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border. Athabasca sandstone outliers to the west and south (Reilly Basin) indicate the strong possibility that this area was once covered by Athabasca sandstone. The North East Project exploration licenses cover the northern extension of the Wollaston Belt, which underlies all of the major uranium mines in the eastern Athabasca Basin.

This summer the Company has carried out detailed lake sediment sampling over the entire license area, and is awaiting results on the majority of the 1,900 individual lake samples. Previous exploration work in the North East Project area in the late 1970s identified uranium boulder trains and uranium-rich lake sediments. CanAlaska's current program of surface follow-up and prospecting with a field staff of 15 geologists and prospectors has led to the discovery of new areas of mineralised boulders and outcrops.

Canalaska Ventures has defined fourteen anomalous zones. Of these, seven have had previous exploration, and seven are either new zones or significant additions to previous work. The geochemical results obtained from the early part of this year's survey of six of the zones are tabulated below. An extensive boulderfield in the Hook Lake Zone has uranium values from 0.2% to 3.65% U3O8 (4lb – 73 lb / ton U3O8), and is located south of mineralised outcropping zones of pelitic gneiss which have returned preliminary values from 0.31% to 0.81% U3O8 (6.2 – 16.2 lb / ton U3O8). Significant molybdenum mineralisation is associated with most samples, along with occasional higher gold values. These priority areas are now receiving detailed follow-up exploration by the Company's field crews to establish drill testing priorities.See

About the Athabasca Basin

The Athabasca Basin hosts a number of major uranium deposits including Cigar Lake and McArthur River, two of the largest and highest grade uranium deposits in the world. Production from the Athabasca Basin accounts for over 30% of the world's supply of uranium. For the past two decades, uranium exploration within the Athabasca Basin has been at a relatively low level and it is evident that the potential for the discovery of other deposits remains high. Peter Dasler, President of CanAlaska, has noted that “before commencing our staking program, CanAlaska carried out a comprehensive analysis of existing geological and geophysical data, and the Company has identified and acquired properties that are well located and have considerable potential. The results of our initial airborne surveys have produced targets which support this potential.” 83

The Company and its shareholders are positioned for what CanAlaska believes will be the largest expansion in uranium exploration since the 1970s. Harry Barr, Chairman of CanAlaska has stated, “CanAlaska holds one of the largest uranium exploration portfolios in the Athabasca Basin and is actively exploring its properties”.

About CanAlaska Ventures Ltd.

CanAlaska is a mineral exploration company concentrating on exploration for uranium in the Athabasca Basin of Saskatchewan, Canada, where the Company has recently assembled a large land package (over 1,650,000 acres).

Sensory Introduces New Speech Recognition MicroController

Low-Cost RSC-464 Enables a New Class of Applications

Santa Clara, Calif. (PRWEB) August 30, 2005 -- Sensory, Inc., the world leader in embedded speech technologies, today released the RSC-464 integrated circuit as the latest member of the RSC-4x family.

It joins the RSC-4128, one of the most widely deployed speech recognition ICs, in providing speech recognition, synthesis and system control on a single chip.

By balancing features required for everyday electronic devices with the costs required to meet customer expectations for those products, the RSC-464 opens up a new market for speech recognition control. The RSC-464 also comes to market supported by a powerful suite of easy-to-use tools. “The RSC-464 is an invitation to every manufacturer of electronics products to add speech to their human interface”, notes Todd Mozer, Sensory's CEO. “If an electronic product has a user interface, it can have a speech user interface added for very little incremental cost, and the RSC-464 makes this practical.”

RSC-464 Supplies General Control with Speech I/O

Sensory's RSC-464 integrated circuit allows manufacturers to replace existing 8-bit microcontrollers with a voice-enabled solution, which is becoming increasingly more popular as recognition technologies become more accurate and pricing drops. The RSC-464 is a powerful general-purpose microcontroller inside a speech recognition system-on-chip that includes 16-bit ADC, DAC, digital filter unit, math unit, 4K RAM, 64K ROM, output amplification, timers, comparators and more. Sensory's aggressive pricing also invites its use as a slave for speech recognition, voice biometrics, and speech and music playback. The slave approach makes it easy to add to existing product designs with minimal changes to the primary controller software. The RSC- 464 IC sells for under $1.10 in large volumes, making it a strong option for use as a replacement for an existing microcontroller or as a slave.

RSC-464 Implements New FluentChipTM 2.0 Technologies

A variety of technologies in Sensory's world-class FluentChip firmware library run on the RSC-464, including speaker independent (SI) recognition, speaker dependent (SD) recognition, speaker verification (voice password) biometrics, voice record, speech compression/playback and MIDI-like music synthesis. Just released, FluentChip 2.0 offers new options for combining SI and SD in a single command set, allowing for personalization that was never before possible. Also available is a new technology that allows the RSC-464 to control mouth movements of animated dolls so the movements appear naturally in time with speech. Together, it is now possible to create a product that “understands” speech out of the box, can be trained to recognize a particular person's voice, and also generates movements that makes the product appear to be more natural and lifelike.

Development Tools Enable Rapid International Vocabulary Development

Sensory's Quick T2SITM(Text to Speaker Independent) Toolkit complements the RSC-464 as it allows for rapid creation of speaker independent command sets by simply typing in the desired recognition vocabulary as text. The recognition set of words or phrases can then be downloaded onto the included RSC-4x Demo/Evaluation Board for quick prototype creation and testing. This process yields a proven recognition set in a matter of minutes. Using state-of-the-art Hidden Markov Modeling combined with advanced neural networks, the need for user training is eliminated. These recognition technologies are derived from a database of sampled speech and are based on the rules of phonology – the environment in which sounds occur in languages. This process significantly accelerates adding new languages to Sensory's speaker independent technologies. This unique approach is now available in U.S. English, German, Italian, Latin American Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin Chinese, with UK English and French available later this year. Compressed speech is now available in any language as well, so products can truly “talk and hear” around the world.

Additional tools include Quick Synthesis, which allows fast development of speech output files by recording and compressing a file with the touch of a button, and also supports easy scoring of MIDI-like music. A fully-integrated IDE for software development is provided by Phyton, Inc., including assembler, linker, debugger and file management, as well as an optional C compiler to accelerate coding.

PhatWare Announces CalliGrapher 8.0 with Support for Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0

Support for Windows Mobile 5.0 and New Data Input Method are top features for award-winning handwriting recognition software.

Mountain View, Calif. (PRWEB via MobilityNewswire) August 29, 2005 -- PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, announces the immediate availability of CalliGrapher 8.0. Most notable new features of the award-winning handwriting recognition software include support for Windows Mobile 5.0, a new soft input panel called Write Pad and the Statistical Analyzer.

CalliGrapher, one of the most popular Pocket PC handwriting recognition applications on the market, analyzes pen strokes written in any application window or in the designated Write Pad area, then converts those pen strokes into text and sends the recognized text to the target application. Employing advanced fuzzy logic and neural net techniques, CalliGrapher recognizes arbitrary alphanumeric strings as well as words contained in its integrated dictionary.

CalliGrapher 8.0 supports the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 software platform. In addition to the classic CalliGrapher "Write Anywhere" input method, which allows users to enter handwritten information anywhere on the screen, CalliGrapher 8.0 introduces a new soft input panel called Write Pad. Write Pad is a specified area at the bottom of the screen where users can enter handwritten information that is instantly recognized and converted to the digital text. The text can be easily sent to the desired application.

"We developed CalliGrapher 8.0 to enhance Pocket PC computing through a unique handwriting recognition application," said PhatWare President Stan Miasnikov. "We believe we have accomplished this with Write Pad and the Statistical Analyzer; and our Beta testers agree."

CalliGrapher 8.0 includes a new Statistical Analyzer feature that improves overall handwriting recognition quality by addressing common recognition errors. The analyzer learns the user's writing habits by accumulating information about the words the user writes over a period of time. Mining People's Minds to Stimulate New Product Development in the Wine Country

A California new product development company is mining the minds of retirees and housewives and using the uncovered frustrations and annoyances of everyday life to stimulate a flow of new products and share the revenue with everyone involved. Their goal is to increase society's capacity for creation.

(PRWEB) August 29, 2005 -- An innovative new product development venture in California's wine country is looking for pioneering, collaborative, abstract thinkers to turn their knowledge and experience into money through a dynamic new product development process based on a new paradigm of inventing.

Are you a CEO, CFO, VP of marketing, new product development, licensing, skilled in joint ventures, alliances, manufacturing, or a single mom with a creative streak? Do you live in the future and think about what might be, rather than just what currently exists?

Do you have a broad overview of markets and what they need? Or do you have experience in a field where you know there are tremendous opportunities for change and improvement and loads of problems to solve that have been ignored for years?

Now you have someone who will listen to you.

Edison Innovations LLC, a Sonoma county venture, seeks to enlist experienced executives, whether retired or employed and other experienced workers for the development and testing of a new patent-pending Needs-to-Market™ process expected to produce a flow of new products for a broad range of industries and markets.

"We recognize the vast experience of retired and underemployed individuals and their underutilized intellectual assets, including their knowledge and experience. This is an opportunity for individuals to put their experience to work and increase the capacity for creation in society," said Larry MacDonald, CEO of Edison. Edison's process is designed to monetize life experience (i.e. turn knowledge and experience into money).

MacDonald believes the process will also help provide creative solutions to pressing social problems, as well.

Using Internet-enabled collaborative tools, Edison will assemble collaborative teams to discover opportunities, evaluate the business case, invent solutions, and spin-off or license new products into the marketplace.

Their collaborative model is intended to share future revenue from royalties or sales with all participants on the basis of the value of their contribution.

Edison Innovations is accepting resumes at this time from observant individuals who can notice and record life's little irritations and frustrations, as well as those experienced in new product development, licensing, finance, marketing or manufacturing who wish to be considered as future participants in our marketing/licensing, software development, finance, industrial design, legal and venture capital departments.

MacDonald says, "We are not looking for those looking for a pay check at this time; we are looking for those leaders, thinkers, creators, who are collaborative, have high integrity, and are interested in becoming an integral part of a new way of solving problems and creating wealth for themselves and all other participants in the process."

"This is a long-term process that will have plenty of room for everyone to make a contribution. It will be fun and exciting and challenging, and you will make a difference," said MacDonald.

If you are one of the few people in the world who can't resist creative brainstorming and out of the box thinking, send your resume and cover letter explaining your interests to be considered for a part in the early stages of this exciting opportunity to Edison Innovations LLC, Box 357, Kenwood, CA 95452.

The company will employ an Internet-based platform enabling people from all over the country, and ultimately from around the world to be involved. The stimulus for the company's process and name came from Thomas Edison's invention factory, which produced the greatest volume of patents of any inventor.

Sifos Technologies Introduces the Fastest PowerSync™ Analyzer, the RackPack PSA, Aimed at High Speed, High Port Count IEEE 802.3af Testing

Sifos Technologies releases the RackPack PowerSync™ Analyzer (PSA). The RackPack, a 48-port PSA, significantly reduces both the time and the cost of testing Power over Ethernet (PoE) for high port count applications such as System Test, Burn-In and Manufacturing. The RackPack can be expanded to test systems with the highest number of ports. As the port count of the system increases, the time required to test per port decreases, reducing the total cost of test.

Boston, Ma. (PRWEB) August 25, 2005 -- Sifos Technologies today announced the addition of the RackPack PSA to its PowerSync™ Analyzer family of IEEE 802.3af - Power over Ethernet (PoE) test solutions. The RackPack reduces the per-port cost of testing IEEE 802.3af compliant Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) where port counts are large (48 ports or more) and fast test speed is critical.

“RackPack is focused on applications where many PoE ports need to be tested, and testing speed and cost of testing are the most important parameters,” said David Lucia, Sifos Technologies President.

The RackPack enables fully automated measurements and analysis. Tcl/TK software scripts are optimized to fully take advantage of RackPack’s measurement resources.

“PSE manufacturers can expect average, per-port testing times on the order of 10 seconds or less per port tested given the capabilities of the RackPack,” said Peter Johnson, Sifos Technologies Technical Director.

Scripts written for any PSA can be directly used, with or without modification or editing, by the RackPack. This allows all engineers from different departments to leverage the work of others, saving significant time in the product development cycle.

The graphical user interface (GUI) software favored by R&D engineers and the PSE Conformance Test Suite (CTS) software, that are standard with the PSA 1200, are not included with the RackPack, but are available as options.

Fujitsu Joins-Up with TVonics to Bring First of Its Kind All-European Digital Terrestrial Set Top Box to Market

Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) has been working closely with UK digital set top box (STB) manufacturer, TVonics Limited, who is commencing mass production of its stylish, digital terrestrial set top box for the UK and European markets. This unique, European designed STB uses key components that have been either designed or manufactured within Europe. The TVonics designed product, which delivers fast, responsive performance at an affordable price, will be on sale from the end of September 2005.

Frankfurt, Germany, and Pencoed, Wales, UK, (PRWEB) August 25, 2005 -- Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) has been working closely with UK digital set top box (STB) manufacturer, TVonics Limited, who is commencing mass production of its stylish, digital terrestrial set top box for the UK and European markets. This unique, European designed STB uses key components that have been either designed or manufactured within Europe. The TVonics designed product, which delivers fast, responsive performance at an affordable price, will be on sale from the end of September 2005.

This new STB, manufactured in the UK by Sony for TVonics, is initially being rolled-out to serve the high-growth UK digital terrestrial market for Freeview services. Offering a distinctive styling and form factor, it offers end consumers a refreshing alternative to the traditional silver or grey rectangular boxes currently on sale.

Designed to minimise ecological impact through the use of lead-free components, a recyclable aluminium enclosure, and low power consumption, it will conform to the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) EU mandate for products sold from January 2006 onwards. It is expected to be in high demand by British consumers, eager to enjoy the popular range of digital television programmes available on Freeview.

TVonics selected FME’s ‘SmartMPEG’ MB86H25B decoder for use in the new STB, due to its low power consumption & system cost, which was made possible through its optimised silicon integration design techniques. The chip was designed at FME’s Multimedia Development Centre in Frankfurt, Germany, and requires just one SDRAM and a Flash memory, consuming less than 700mW in full operation.

This 3rd Generation SmartMPEG device has enjoyed excellent success around the world, with over 10 million unit deployments. The design win at TVonics spearheads its expansion into the buoyant European digital terrestrial television market.

FME’s SmartMPEG family allows many different applications to be executed - in this case an optimised DVB-T Adapter with interactivity - but it is also suited to automotive applications; Personal Video Recorder, Dual/Twin Receiver, Portable and semi-professional applications; as well as satellite receivers, when used in combination with Fujitsu's QPSK Silicon Tuner.

The two companies were able to combine their experience in order to reduce the STB product development time to just 6 months. This was partly due to the application software being based on the Cabot Aurora DVB Middleware reference port, carried out last year between FME & Cabot Communications.

Production of the circuit board, product assembly, test and packing is being carried out by Sony Manufacturing, Pencoed Technology Park, UK - a natural choice for TVonics which is based on-site within the Technium Digital@Sony, technology incubation centre, established by Sony and the Welsh Development Agency in 2004.

Paul Fellows, CEO of TVonics said, “The silicon chip technology and technical support provided by Fujitsu, together with the software technology of Cabot, has enabled TVonics to enter the market quickly with a product delivering superior performance at a very competitive price. This development has been an excellent example of how three European based design groups can work together to deliver class leading products to market quickly”.

He continued, “The excellent co-operation from Fujitsu has led to very close links being forged between the two companies resulting in the perfect design mix. The new box will be announced and featured on our Stand 215, Hall 5 at IBC 2005 in Amsterdam from 9th-13th September”.

Johannes Richter, Multimedia Business Unit Director at FME, added, “The experience and professionalism from TVonics perfectly matched our own when it came to the design of an elegant, unique product to bring to market in the UK and Europe. We are extremely happy to have been part of this design and look forward to a long relationship with TVonics”.

He added, “We were able to achieve this fastest turnaround time from design start to production start in just 6 months including Cabot’s Pan-European Aurora DVB middleware stack with MHEG-5 functionality, because of the skilled engineers at TVonics designing a right-first-time solution, and the availability of Middleware from Cabot”.

Darren Standing, Business Development Manager at Cabot Communications commented, “Since being selected by TVonics in February 2005 to support its development programme, we have worked closely with engineers at FME and TVonics to deliver for the first time, an Aurora DVB-T Middleware market deployment running on FME's SmartMPEG technology. TVonics has used the performance and flexibility of Aurora to rapidly integrate its own innovatively styled user interface, system software and device drivers to deliver a market leading DVB-T solution in record time”.

There are up to 80 million TVs and VCRs in the UK, and the British government wants all receiving equipment to be able to handle digital signals by 2012, when analogue broadcasting will be switched off. Throughout Europe, an estimated 600 million units will need to be converted or replaced with digitally-enabled equipment in the next 10 years.

Figures above are based on typical usage of 2.5 TVs or VCRs in all registered TV households.

Fuji Novel Batteries “Reverse Current Prevention" Protects Devices From Harm

Fuji Novel Batteries, one of the largest manufacturers of batteries for portable electronics and digital cameras worldwide, is pleased to offer a specially engineered “reverse current protection” feature in its Fuji Novel D-Size and C-Size alkaline batteries, now available at retailers across the nation.

(PRWEB) August 25, 2005 -- Fuji Novel Batteries, one of the largest manufacturers of batteries for portable electronics and digital cameras worldwide, is pleased to offer a specially engineered “reverse current protection” feature in its Fuji Novel D-Size and C-Size alkaline batteries, now available at retailers across the nation. This feature actually blocks the completion of negative-to-negative current in batteries that are connected in series, thereby virtually eliminating potential damage and premature discharge from reverse current in incorrectly installed batteries.

To prevent the possibility of two negative terminals from touching each other if they are improperly inserted, Fuji Novel LR20 (D size) and LR14 (C size) alkaline batteries have specially-designed resin protrusions on their negative face to ensure that negative-to-negative contact is incomplete, and therefore no current conduction can occur. This feature prevents both the inadvertent and the deliberate installation of batteries where both negative terminals can touch, which, at worst, can send a potentially harmful surge into the device.

“We are very pleased to once again lead the industry by providing this reverse current protection in our C and D-Size Alkaline batteries – the batteries most likely to be connected in series, and therefore, in greatest need of protection,” noted Russ Bongiorno, Vice President of Marketing at Fuji Novel Batteries. “Fuji Novel has been an innovator and a pioneer in the battery marketplace for decades. The reverse current protection innovation is just another example of the forward thinking that we bring to the industry.”

All Fuji Novel Alkaline batteries offer superior performance characteristics. Today's portable consumer electronic products like digital cameras and MP3 players are more sophisticated and require more power. As today's high-tech handheld electronics incorporate higher-speed digital processing, their hunger for battery power grows dramatically. Therefore the demands on portable power sources, especially Alkaline batteries, are skyrocketing.

State-of-the-art techniques and materials enable Fuji Novel to produce batteries of the highest quality and longest life to meet the needs of today's consumer electronic devices. Through the use of an innovative technology that incorporates an advanced cathode material with more electrolytes in its Alkaline batteries, Fuji Novel ushered in a new era of high performance portable power. In fact, recent independent tests conducted by the ACTS Testing Laboratory, showed that Fuji Novel AA batteries outlasted recognized battery brands.

Fuji Novel meets the highest manufacturing standards, ensuring superior product performance worldwide. All Fuji Novel batteries undergo rigorous quality control tests that ensure exceptional operation and superior consistency, providing outstanding value for consumers every hour of every day in a myriad of portable power uses all over the world.

For over 50 years, Fuji Novel Batteries has been recognized as a market leader and innovator in the hyper-competitive battery industry. Fuji Novel pioneered the launch of Carbon Zinc battery technology in 1950, and was first to develop and market a line of Manganese batteries, launching the product line in 1969. An environmentally-conscious company, Fuji Novel was the first battery manufacturer to produce 100% Mercury Free Formula and Cadmium-free batteries. Fuji Novel manufacturers and markets batteries under its own internationally-recognized brand, and is the leading manufacturer of private-label batteries worldwide.

How Do You Make Your AVR Programmer Four Times Faster?

Standard AVR In System Programming has used the serial programming method. Now Kanda have introduced a JTAG programmer for AVR microcontrollers that is four times as fast but comes in a robust case for production, with a simple user interface.

(PRWEB) August 24, 2005 -- Up to now AVR microcontrollers have been programmed in a ZIF socket using parallel programming, or have been programmed in circuit using the In System Programming (ISP serial programming) protocol and interface. Now Atmel have provided a third interface using JTAG and Kanda have developed a programmer for it.

The main reason for Atmel adding a JTAG controller to the AVR microcontrollers was to improve In Circuit Emulation of the chips. Atmel and Kanda have exploited this feature very effectively, using the brilliant AVR Studio software as an interface. So now low cost emulators are freely available for AVR, unlike emulators for the PIC, and are very effective for code debugging. For example, look at http://www.kanda.com/products/Kanda/JTAGAVR.html.

Lots of developers are now happy using the JTAG protocol for debugging but tend to stick with the ISP interface for programming. This is because production engineers do not want AVR Studio and fragile ICE hardware on the production line, for obvious reasons. Therefore, Kanda have now introduced a robust JTAG programmer that gives all the benefits of JTAG for the production environment.

The major advantage of the JTAG programming interface over the serial programming interface is its speed. Typical serial programming speeds are about 4KBytes/second while JTAG can manage 16Kbytes/second. This translates to about 8 seconds to program a complete Atmega128.

The JTAG interface is only available on the newer ATmega devices with more than 40 pins, so older AVR devices, ATtiny and smaller ATmega chips, such as the Atmega8, are not supported. This is why Kanda have supplied an adapter and one piece of software for both JTAG and serial programming, so it is easy to swap between programming methods.

So, you can improve programming speeds by a factor of four for devices with a JTAG interface, yet retain the ability to program other AVR devices without any major changes to your setup -– same software, same programmer, different interface.

For more information, see
http://www.kanda.com/products/Kanda/AVRUSB-JTAG.html

About Kanda:
Kanda manufacture and supply a wide range of embedded system tools. We are specialists in In System Programming, low cost emulators and training systems for a wide range of microcontrollers, PLDs and memory devices, including PIC, AVR, ST7 and COP8. Speedline Technologies Reports Highest Bookings Since 2000; Backlog Up 68% Over Previous Quarter -- New Product Introductions and Process Expertise Support Surge

Speedline Technologies, Inc., today reported that its bookings during the second quarter of 2005 rose 44% over the first quarter and in July reached their highest level since 2000. At the end of July, the backlog had climbed 68% versus the end of the first quarter.

FRANKLIN, MA (PRWEB) August 24, 2005 -- Speedline Technologies, Inc., today reported that its bookings during the second quarter of 2005 rose 44% over the first quarter and in July reached their highest level since 2000. At the end of July, the backlog had climbed 68% versus the end of the first quarter.

“We’ve witnessed a major upturn in business since April as large customers increased capital equipment spending to respond to growth in the consumer electronics and automotive industries,” said Pierre de Villemejane, president and chief executive officer (CEO), Speedline Technologies. “The market has enthusiastically responded to the introductions of our new MPM AccelaTM printer and Camalot XyflexPro® + dispenser with strong order rates.”

In addition, de Villemejane said the trend toward lead-free manufacturing drove healthy global demand for new capital equipment. “Our process expertise in lead-free technology helped support higher bookings for our wave soldering and reflow oven products,” he said.

On a geographic basis, Speedline’s CEO said European bookings surged at the end of the second quarter, after a slow first half. Hungary, Turkey, and Russia remain bright spots as investment continues in those countries’ electronics manufacturing sectors. Germany also showed continuing strength.

“The Americas have been strong since the first quarter, with Brazil making a major rebound and Mexico improving,” he said. “Asia was sluggish in the first quarter, but bookings were strong throughout the second quarter with China leading the way.”

Speedline’s CEO credited the market’s strong acceptance of the Accela printer and XyflexPro+ dispenser to the company’s leadership in process and applications knowledge.

“The Accela printer already has been accepted on Approved Vendor Lists at many worldwide OEMs and contract manufacturers,” de Villemejane said. “We shipped the first Accela systems in the second quarter and are booking new orders at significant levels. We’re also seeing brisk initial order rates for the XyflexPro+ dispenser. These two products will have a substantial impact on results through the remainder of the year,” he said.

De Villemejane reported that Electrovert wave soldering sales were bolstered by winning major competitive evaluations. “We secured preferred supplier status for these products at many of the top global electronic manufacturing services (EMS) providers,” he said.

The company said sales also were strengthened by the results of a marketing agreement with Tamura FA that introduced Speedline’s popular AccuFlexTM printer into the Japanese market.

Speedline’s CEO predicted Speedline’s strong performance will continue through the end of the year. “We will see seasonal strength in the third quarter when bookings tend to peak,” he said. “But with the lead-free manufacturing trend expanding, and our exciting stream of new products entering the market, we anticipate robust performance through the end of the year.”
