Most Popular IR Thermometer Brand

www.TempSensor.net - Everyone with Internet access can vote for their favorite IR Thermometer brand in the user poll at the Temperature Sensor Community Website, http://www.TempSensor.net There's no cost, no obligation only a chance to indicate your preference along with other IR users to see who come out on top by the end of March, 2005

Southampton, PA (PRWEB) February 26, 2022 -- www.TempSensor.net - Everyone with Internet access can vote for their favorite Infrared (IR) Thermometer brand in the present user poll at the Temperature Sensor Community Website, http://www.TempSensor.net. There's no cost, no obligation only a chance to indicate your preference along with other IR users to see who come out on top by the end of March, 2005

There are eight major choices, chosen from the world's most popular non-contact IR thermometer makers and one open-ended one. Already a trend is stating to appear with Ircon/China leading the pack. Most users never heard of them. Perhaps only serious users are visiting this unique web location to stay up with current news of temperature sensors.

Each vote is automatically tallied and each person is allowed only one vote per day. Current results are seen after each vote is made. Can you cheat? Can each manufacturer cheat? Sure they can, but then everyone has the same opportunity to bias the results as the others. So the results are expected to reflect an idea of the popularity of the brand and not necessarily the market standings of each brand name.

It's not very scientific as a result, but should be interesting in any event. Have a look and don't take it too seriously. Life is too short.

The "My Favorite IR Thermometer" Poll list of brands includes: Exergen, Ircon/Chino (The leader as of February 22ed), Land/Minolta, Mikron/Impac, Omega/Vanzetti, Raytek/Fluke, Williamson, Corp, ZYTemp or Other. It makes no distinction between handheld, low cost, high cost or online devices. It just lists the brands.

The results of the poll will be tallied until the end of March and a summary will be published on the website along with a news release for the media. There have been other polls, but none quite as name-specific and open as this one.

About www.TempSensor.Net
http://www.TempSensor.net is the "commercial" side of the Temperatures.com, Inc. company. It is dubbed "The Temperature Community" website because it is about the business side of temperature sensors. It features News, Vendor listings, Reviews of products and services and a few special items to help people find and use temperature sensors in a competent manner.

It is a unique commercial presence, because it charges nothing for vendors and users alike to post their news, PR info, new product releases and even to be listed in their comprehensive, searchable tables of web links. It is fully supported by advertising from members of the community and run independently of any and all sensor makers or distributors. The site was created and developed by an Industrial Physicist with unique hands-on technical, marketing and management experience who has been active in the technical sensor community for more than 30 years. The alter ego to this website is the original and the most popular temperature sensor website on the Internet, "About Temperature Sensors"(http://www.temperatures.com), that has been organizing indices and information About Temperature Sensors on the Web since 1997.

Electrically Conductive Materials for Pad Printing Now Available from Creative Materials Inc

Applications include medical device and electronics manufacturing.

Tyngsboro, MA (PRWEB) February 24, 2022 -- Creative Materials Inc., a leading manufacturer of electrically conductive inks, coatings and adhesives, has announced the availability of new electrically conductive materials for use in pad printing applications. Pad printing is an innovative printing technology that makes it possible to print on curved, uneven or recessed surfaces, while producing a high quality ink transfer.

Asked why pad printing was better, Silvio Morano, President of Creative Materials explained, “Pad printing has been around for a long time, and was used primarily for decorative purposes; for instance, logos on bottle caps or labels on golf balls. This flexible printing process allows you to go around corners, into concave surfaces, or to print on convex surfaces.”

“With our products, you can now put an electrical circuit on many 3-D objects, not just circuit boards,” said Morano. “With pad printing, our customers can print finer lines at closer tolerances and with closer gaps between the lines. We’ve been able to do 4 mil (0.1 mm) lines with 4 mil (0.1 mm) spaces. So if somebody is developing a unique electronic device, perhaps something very compact, they are no longer limited by the need to have flat circuit board. They could print a circuit on a tube or a curved surface that fits more compactly into their device.”

Creative Materials makes a wide variety of electrically conductive inks for multiple applications. Some can be pad printed. Some inks are available in multiple formats for screen printing, pad printing, syringe dispensing, stenciling, or rotogravure printing (flexography).

“The thing that separates us from our competitors and makes us different is our customer service and our custom formulations. We have the unique ability to tailor our materials to meet the specific needs of the customer and we are able to provide technical support for a new application,” said Morano. “We have a broad base of existing materials that cover multiple applications and manufacturing techniques.”

About Creative Materials, Inc.
Creative Materials, Inc. develops and markets specialty chemical products to customers world-wide. Founded in 1986, Creative Materials has its headquarters and production facilities in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. Speedline Technologies Introduces Next Generation Technology in its New MPM Accela Stencil Printer

Debut Causes Paradigm Shift in Industry
Speedline Technologies today officially introduced the new MPM Accela™ stencil printer from Speedline Technologies – creating a new standard in the way electronics manufacturers measure printer performance. The new printer – loaded with innovations backed by two new U.S. patent awards and nine additional patents-pending – is literally unlike anything else in the industry.

FRANKLIN, MA (PRWEB) February 23, 2022 -- Speedline Technologies today officially introduced the new MPM Accela™ stencil printer from Speedline Technologies – creating a new standard in the way electronics manufacturers measure printer performance. The new printer – loaded with innovations backed by two new U.S. patent awards and nine additional patents-pending – is literally unlike anything else in the industry.

“The new MPM Accela stencil printer is the industry’s truly next generation printer – introducing dramatic innovations in parallel processing technology and producing the most boards per hour of any industry printer – delivering raw throughput gains of more than 20% over the closest competitor,” said Pierre de Villemejane, president, Speedline Technologies.

“The Accela’s debut renders traditional cycle time claims obsolete and shifts the focus, once and for all, to the measurements that high-end electronics manufacturers are really interested in – throughput and yield,” said de Villemejane. “With superior accuracy and repeatability and increased throughput, the Accela will enable manufacturers to concentrate on the quality, number, and cost of good boards produced per hour.”

“Cycle time metrics as a method to compare printers simply doesn’t tell the whole story,” he explained. “Cycle time doesn’t predict how fast the manufacturing line will really run or the final quality of the printing process. By comparing throughput rates – which includes all the steps required to turn a bare PCB into a high quality finished board - manufacturers will have a more accurate idea of how their manufacturing line will actually perform.”

Certified Specs
The new Accela printer has the best accuracy and repeatability specifications of any printer on the market – and has been verified by CeTaQ, the world’s foremost capability measurement specialists for SMT equipment. CeTaQ’s independent certification verifies that the Accela printer will meet ±12.5 microns at 6 Sigma for alignment and ±25 microns at 6 Sigma for printing performance.

Ready for Lead-free
With the transition to lead-free materials, printing accuracy and repeatability becomes even more important. “Lead-free materials don’t spread during the reflow process as much as tin/lead materials. This factor makes it even more imperative that the printing process is as accurate as possible,” said de Villmejane. “We have identified all of the variables that impact the lead-free printing process through extensive laboratory testing. Because of its improved accuracy and repeatability, the Accela printer is the perfect solution for any manufacturer preparing for the lead-free transition.”

Ground-up Innovation
“The Accela printer is a clear, quantum leap forward for the industry, designed and developed from extensive and resounding manufacturer input – gleaned through our unsurpassed experience with an installed base of 13,000 printers worldwide – that cost per board, not cycle time, was their most important production measurement,” said de Villemejane.

The Accela printer optimizes production by delivering greater yield potential – due to tighter repeatability and accuracy specifications and a highly flexible platform for fast changeovers, along with superior inspection capabilities in terms of speed and accuracy. In its debut, the Accela printer:

· Introduces a host of innovative technological advances in parallel processing technology to increase throughput by more than 20%
o Axes can move at the same time without electrical or mechanical limitations
o Alignment, wiping, dispensing, transport and inspection can occur simultaneously to minimize wait time and to increase throughput
o Stationary stencil cleaner designed for easy access and simple changeover

· Optimizes board handling for the industry’s fastest cycle time: less than 6 seconds
·Provides a consistent line pulse rate for improved line optimization
· Offers 3mm and 5mm edge clearance changeover without additional parts and an adjustable stencil shelf for maximum flexibility
· Is designed from the ground up – mechanically, electrically and software – to maximize the parallel processing capabilities provided by the CANopen control architecture for truly impressive throughput rates
· Uses Benchmark™ software for improved operator interface and easy networking and provides a common interface across multiple Speedline platforms
· Dramatically reduces setup, changeover and consumable downtime (20 minutes to 5 minutes), and features tool-free hardware interfaces
· Expands inspection capabilities, including contrast-based 2D, texture-based BridgeVision™ and StencilVision™ for the fastest quantitative printer-based inspection in the industry
· Increases the application range including higher density, more complex boards including lead-free manufacturing requirements

Specifications for the Accela printer are:
o Board size: 50mm X 50mm – 500mm X 500mm
o Board thickness: 0.15mm – 12.7mm
o Underside component clearance: 25mm
o Board weight: 7kg
o Board edge clearance: 3mm or 5mm
o Various board support options including Gel-Flex™ conformal support system, magnetic pins and dedicated workholders
o Alignment: ±12.5 microns at 6 Sigma
o Print performance: ±25 microns at 6 Sigma

Speedline Technologies officially introduced the new Accela printer at the APEX 2005 Expo, held February 22-24, 2005, in Anaheim, Calif.

GCT Announces Availability of New Website

Gravity Control Technologies (GCT) today announced the availability of their new website showcasing "life like" renderings of the company's unmanned prototype.

(PRWEB) February 21, 2022 -- Gravity Control Technologies (GCT) today announced the availability of their new website showcasing "life like" renderings of the company's unmanned prototype. The craft is aimed at testing and introducing revolutionary new propulsion technology based on the control of gravity for flight. When developments bear fruit GCT believes their craft will usher in a new era of everyday space tourism flights on craft capable of carrying a thousand passengers or more on eight hour space excursions.

The images were created by Mr. Charles Machin, an extremely talented and enthusiastic CGI artist from England under the supervision of Mr. Viktor Rozsnyay, Founder and CEO of GCT. "It is a great pleasure to have such talented people as Charles assisting us in our efforts. The images he created bring to life the technology we have envisioned. People can now really see what it is we have been talking about and pursuing for the last fifteen years. Charles is an outstanding computer artist. I am grateful for his contribution." commented Mr. Rozsnyay.

Under development for the last fifteen year, GCT technology is hoping to revolutionize flight. With the availability of gravity control a new era of terrestrial and space transportation could begin. But much work is still ahead before the technology can be flight tested. "We are the first ones to admit that we may be wrong in our assumptions on how this technology can function. I have been working on this for over fifteen years. Have been fortunate enough to raise some initial investment to test the hypothesis. We saw some interesting lab data, compelling us to continue work. If there is even a microscopic chance that it can work someone needs to investigate it. If not us, than who? If not now, when? If works, everyone will benefit and hopefully get a chance of seeing our planet from orbit, to gain a larger perspective on life. If it doesn't work, everything will go on as usual. But we must try it simple because of the sheer implications of the thing." commented Mr. Rozsnyay.

For more information, and to view images of the company's aerospace vision based on craft capable of controlling gravity for flight visit the official GCT website at http://www.gctspace.com

“Although we do not yet have a patent, federal statute, 35 U.S.C. Section 154, provides us with certain rights now, including issuing cease and desist letters. If the issued patent is substantially identical to our patent application, we will have the right to obtain a reasonable royalty from anyone who makes, uses, offers for sale or sells an invention as claimed in our application, with actual knowledge of our published patent application,” stated Kevin Mickelson, Vice President of Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. “We are very serious about protecting our intellectual property rights and our legal team will aggressively pursue any person or company whom we believe is violating our intellectual property rights,” added Mr. Mickelson.

Concrete Washout Systems strongly encourages any company or persons who may have a similar product in development or in operation to contact them immediately. Concrete Washout Systems would rather explore and develop licensed partnerships instead of pursuing legal actions against companies and believe this partnership is a win-win scenario for all parties involved.

“Joe Knobloch developed a product that was substantially similar to ours and we immediately notified him of our product and system when we discovered his. Mr. Knobloch has acknowledged that his product was a close copy, read our patent application and decided it would be advantageous for him to pursue a licensed partnership after we offered him one. We are very pleased to have a person and businessman of Mr. Knobloch’s character, integrity and savvy as a partner and believe he will be a great addition and asset to our business,” noted Mr. Mickelson.

“Knoble Construction is excited about entering into a licensing partnership with Concrete Washout Systems, Inc.; a company that has successfully developed an environmentally safe concrete washout box and waste water removal treatment and recycling operation,” stated Joe Knobloch, President of Knoble Construction, Inc. “We will be marketing the concrete washout systems box and related services initially on our own jobsites within Southern California, but will expand to outside jobs as demand increases in an effort to foster recycling and waste diversion efforts within the building industry,” added Mr. Knobloch.

The patent pending Concrete Washout Systems™ container is a portable, self-contained and watertight bin that controls, captures and contains concrete washout material and wastewater. It allows trade personnel to easily washout concrete trucks, pumps and equipment on site and facilitates easy off site recycling of the same concrete materials and wastewater, while protecting the storm drain system from potential illegal discharges. The off site recycling component creates an even more environmentally sound application. This system replaces other outdated washout BMP’s, which are costly, unsightly and damaging to the environment since their containment value diminishes, due to inherently faulty material, over use and lack of maintenance.

About Concrete Washout Systems, Inc.
Concrete Washout Systems is a risk management specialist and industry pioneer in concrete washout and wastewater removal, treatment and recycling. The patent-pending Concrete Washout Systems provides a cost effective, environmentally friendly and compliance alternative for homebuilders, contractors, ready mix and pump operators and environmental engineering firms. Touchscreens Displace Keypads on Industrial Electronic Operator Interface Terminals

Touchscreens provide an easy-to-use graphic interface for data or command inputs and occupy less space than a keyboard. The incorporation of a small keypad or shortcut keys with a touchscreen increases the usability of the operator interface terminal, and vendors are introducing such products. Overall, however, it is seen that the share of shipments with keypads is expected to decrease.

Natick, MA (PRWEB) February 19, 2022 -- A market report by Venture Development Corporation, "The North American Markets for Industrial Electronic Monitors and Operator Interface Terminals - Fifth Edition," finds a continuing shift toward greater use of touchscreens instead of keypads as input devices for operator interface terminals.

Current and Forecast Shipment Shares of Industrial Electronic Operator Interface Terminals With Keypads, Touchscreens, and Both to North American Markets (Percent of Dollar Volumes)

Current Market

Touchscreens: 53.8%
Keypads: 29.8%
Both: 16.4%

Expected 2006 Market
Touchscreens: 56.3%
Keypads: 26.2%
Both: 17.5%

Touchscreens provide an easy-to-use graphic interface for data or command inputs and occupy less space than a keyboard. The incorporation of a small keypad or shortcut keys with a touchscreen increases the usability of the operator interface terminal, and vendors are introducing such products. Overall, however, it is seen that the share of shipments with keypads is expected to decrease.

As was the case in VDC's prior study (4th edition, 2000), resistive technology accounts for the vast majority of touchscreen shipments. This is due to the cost-effectiveness and reliability of the technology. Capacitive touchscreens have gained some market share since 2000 and many suppliers offer both resistive and capacitive technologies. Capacitive touchscreens are highly durable, but are more expensive than resistive touchscreens and cannot be used with gloves. Other technologies, such as near-field imaging, infrared, surface acoustic wave and guided acoustic wave are used in some terminals, but are generally less capable of surviving harsh environments, or are too costly.

North America Catching Up to Europe in Machine Automatic Safeguarding Implementation

Europe's machine safeguarding standards are more universally adopted than in other regions. Consequently, much of the initial wave of adoption has passed, and the expected growth rate is more in line with growth in European manufacturing. Because of the prior adoption, however, the learning curve of users and vendors in Europe is less steep than in North America, leading to less resources being needed for education.

Natick, MA (PRWEB) February 19, 2022 -- A new market study by Venture Development Corporation (VDC) finds the North American market for machine automatic safeguarding products to be gaining ground on Europe.

Current and Forecast Shipments for Machine Safeguarding Products (U.S. Dollars in Millions)

Europe (Compound Annual Growth Rate: 7.4%)
2004: $751.6
2005: $806.5
2006: $862.2
2007: $931.8

North America (Compound Annual Growth Rate: 12.5%)
2004: $250.2
2005: $281.2
2006: $315.9
2007: $356.0

Factors contributing to these expected market growth rates include:

- Cost savings due to efficiency gains - The implementation of machine automatic safeguarding allows users to operate efficient high-speed machinery and equipment without fear of personal injury or equipment damage.

- Prior adoption - Europe's machine safeguarding standards are more universally adopted than in other regions. Consequently, much of the initial wave of adoption has passed, and the expected growth rate is more in line with growth in European manufacturing. Because of the prior adoption, however, the learning curve of users and vendors in Europe is less steep than in North America, leading to less resources being needed for education.

- Safety buses and networking - The creation of safety networks and buses based on existing open buses and networks allows users to control and monitor their safety devices over a distributed I/O network. This reduces cost and improves performance over hard-wired devices. More complexity and diagnostics will be used to provide safer, more functional machinery.

- Safety standards and requirements - New standards are being created in the European Union and North America, as well as a convergence in the requirements between these two regions.

One factor tempering growth prospects is the ongoing shifting of manufacturing operations outside of Europe and North America. There is often less concern about machine safeguarding of equipment bought for use in other regions of the world.

Battery Doctors Develops Environmentally-Friendly Method of Reusing Batteries

Battery Doctors, a division of ProTec International, is working around the globe to keep batteries out of our landfills and waterways by selling the business of reconditioning batteries with environmentally safe products. Through the sale of the Battery Doctors business, ProTec International’s contribution to the environment increases with each year.

(PRWEB) February 18, 2022 -- Protec International and their global division, Battery Doctors, have worked to institute over 400 battery reconditioning divisions worldwide to keep batteries out of our landfills, water systems, and other areas at risk for contamination. Although batteries are known for their toxic materials, Battery Doctors has developed a successful and environmentally safe method to recondition batteries for reuse.

Batteries, especially large, commercial, lead-based batteries, allow lead, other toxic heavy metals, and acid to pollute the environment once they are discarded. These harmful materials are dangerous for people, animals, and the environment in general. Since most of the Battery Doctor business involves lead-based batteries, which are among the most hazardous, environmental concern is paramount.

Everyone needs batteries—a plus for Battery Doctors owners. Since they are always needed, the business is practically unscathed by a slow economy. This business pervades nearly every aspect of commerce, which provides for a huge market that includes everything from automobiles to farming, construction, medicine, boating and industry, just to mention a few.

“The market for battery reconditioning is huge. Batteries are needed in nearly every business and industry, the demand is high. Businesses throw away batteries that can be reconditioned everyday.

Battery waste is one of the most destructive hazards to our environment. Battery Doctors has developed environmentally safe products to put into batteries making them functional again. The longer batteries last, fewer new batteries are manufactured and fewer end up in our landfills,” says Marc S. Keith, Director of Product Development for Battery Doctors.

If you would like to learn how you can contribute to saving the environment and gain profits by starting your own successful division of Battery Doctors, visit www.batterydoctors.com or call 1-800-357-4003 for free information and advice.

Battery Doctors does not simply recharge or rebuild batteries. As a Battery Doctor you would not even have to take apart the battery for it to be reconditioned. Batteries run out of energy primarily because of sulphation buildup on the battery plates, but Battery Doctors has a way to rid the plates of this buildup. A small amount of a chemical called ProBat™, only available through Battery Doctors, is poured into the batteries. ProBat is an environmentally safe, non-acidic, non-hazardous product. The battery is then charged, prepped, and ready to work again. Each battery that is saved is one less, lead-acid battery polluting our environment.

Anyone can start their own environmentally-friendly business of reconditioning batteries. Since the chemicals used by Battery Doctors divisions are exclusive to Battery Doctors and are not sold in stores, there is almost no competition, and that is one of the reasons why the battery reconditioning business is so successful. With hundreds of divisions worldwide, the system is proven and ideal for entrepreneurs or even those looking to make extra cash.

Discarded batteries can be found or picked up from almost anywhere. Common places are auto dealers, repair facilities, junk yards, lube and oil stores, truck stops, industrial buildings, etc. Many people share the same concern for our environment and are happy to give their discarded batteries to a Battery Doctor. And with the Battery Doctors process, they can be reconditioned and resold for high profits. This allows active recycling of batteries that would otherwise be discarded and harm the environment by polluting soil, water, or even directly affecting humans or animals.

About Battery Doctors
Since 1988 Battery Doctors and ProTec International have been developing environmentally safe products for commercial needs. They now serve more than forty countries and can be found on every continent, licensing and marketing the high-demand business of battery reconditioning. ProTec International is a member of the World Trade Center and has been awarded many grants and honors from U.S. Governmental Agencies, and with each year their contribution to the environment grows through their Battery Doctors Divisions.

Comtech Launch PSTN and GSM/GPRS Routers for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Telemetry Applications

Adapt Ethernet machines to communicate over PSTN or GSM/GPRS public networks. Create your own standalone network for easy remote access. Free equipment from the restrictions imposed by the end customers wired LAN network.

(PRWEB) February 13, 2022 -- Comtech Holdings Ltd (www.comtechM2M.com), the leading Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Solution Provider, today announce the release of the µWEBox eRouter family with two products which enable Ethernet-based machines to communicate over public Wide Area Networks (WAN)

1. The µWEBox eRouter GSM/GPRS Router connects Ethernet devices over wireless GSM/GPRS
2. The µWEBox eRouter PSTN Router connects Ethernet devices over the PSTN network.

Companies often find it difficult to remotely access a machine deployed at an end-customers site via their Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN). They are prevented by firewalls that isolate public and private networks and often by the end-customers I.T. department who prevent "alien" machines utilising their network. Furthermore, there are many cases where the machine is located in geographical isolated or mobile locations, where no Local Area Network exists.

The µWEBox eRouters overcome these problems by creating a standalone network with its own Wide Area Network (WAN) access point to the public PSTN, GSM, GPRS networks and/or the Internet. The Ethernet port of the remote equipment is adapted by the router for WAN connectivity, which supports "Dial-in", "Dial-out" and "Always Connected" modes of operation. Each µWEBox eRouter provides PPP encapsulation of TCP/IP data and supports Network Address Translation (NAT), IP forwarding, DHCP server, DNS, UDP, PING and ARP protocols. The µWEBox eRouters are housed in a rugged aluminium enclosure and can be operated within a wide 8 to 40 volt power supply range. Available NOW.

Applications
* Stand-alone network - where equipment can be remotely accessed without needing to use the end customers LAN e.g. security surveillance camera's, access control, electronics displays, HVAC etc. Examples extend to PC's located within the end customer site, which are running applications e.g. for Postal and Courier service companies.

* Remote Isolated equipment - where there is no LAN infrastructure e.g. passenger information systems, traffics systems, security surveillance and industrial automation etc.

* Leased Equipment - where equipment is regularly re-located e.g. generators, chillers, compressors, industrial plant hire, heating equipment, etc.

* Network Back-up - where a secondary remote access route is required if the there is a failure through the customers LAN e.g. Building automation systems, Epos systems, CHP systems, generators, UPS etc.

* Mobile Equipment - where it is not possible to create a wired WAN connection e.g. transportation such as rail and taxi's where PC's, cameras, HVAC, EPOS systems and other assets can be networked to the outside world.

"Our PSTN, GSM and GPRS Routers reduce the barrier to sales of ethernet-based equipment, by providing remote access to them where ever they are located; reducing the dependancy on the end-customers network", said Steve Whitehead, Technical Director, Comtech Holdings Ltd. "Not only are the installation and maintenance costs reduced, but new business opportunities can be created by gaining remote access to the important information within the machine where previously this was not possible. As an example, charging for leased equipment may be increased dependant on how and when it is operated, especially if these fall outside permitted limits ".

Development Tools - This launch is complemented with the release of a development Starter Kit to simplify evaluation and aid design integration.

Customisation - Comtech offer design customisations for µWEBox eRouter PSTN and GSM/GPRS routers, by incorporating customer and market specific application needs.

(NASDAQ: PFSW) has leased an additional 167,000 square feet at the new Airways Distribution Center in Southaven, Miss., to handle fulfillment of spare parts for an undisclosed consumer electronics manufacturer under a three-year expansion of an existing contract. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

PFSweb, a global provider of integrated business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions, said the agreement with the company – a client since 1999 – is effective in February, with shipments planned to start in April.

The new lease brings to 602,000 square feet of total space that PFSweb will be operating at the industrial park created by Industrial Development Inc. (IDI) of Atlanta, Ga. Operations to support a large, three-year contract with another Fortune 500 consumer products client began in early January in the adjacent portion of the building. (See Jan. 10, 2005 announcement.).

“Services will include product fulfillment activities, including inventory management, integrated reverse logistics and transportation management,” said Mark Layton, senior partner and chief executive officer of PFSweb. “We will handle about 30,000 SKUs, initially fulfilling about 4,000 business-to-business shipments a month to the company’s dealers and parts distributors. The capital expenditures for this expansion are currently estimated to be approximately $1M.”

“This agreement marks our second major services parts client,” Layton added. “Last year we began operating the Raytheon Aircraft Parts Inventory & Distribution (RAPID) facility in Grapevine, Texas, handling more than 60,000 different parts onsite for its customers in the Americas. We also handle Raytheon Aircraft’s European customers from our Liège, Belgium, center.”

“Throughput capability for this client will be enhanced by deployment of a Siemens PickDirector RF Cart System,” said Scott Talley, Partner and Vice President-Worldwide Distribution at PFSweb. “This wireless, computer-activated, light-directed item selection system will increase accuracy and speed while reducing operating costs. Automated pick carts are highly adaptable to changing business requirements.

“From an operations standpoint, our long-term relationship with this brand-name company minimized the cost of this modification to its current supply chain process,” Talley noted. “By outsourcing to PFSweb, this client is expected to enjoy improved order accuracy, enhanced customer satisfaction, faster order fulfillment, flexible warehouse capacity and reduced inventory, direct costs and overhead.”

Known as the “brand behind the brand,” PFSweb provides seamless, transparent, “best-in-class” supply-chain efficiencies and management for its Fortune 500 and Global 1000 clients. PFSweb currently warehouses, manages and fulfills more than $1 billion annually in merchandise and transactions from its distribution facilities in Memphis, Toronto, Canada, and Liège, Belgium.

Okino’s PolyTrans Provides SolidWorks 2005 CAD Data Import Into the Newest Releases of Maya v6.5, 3ds max v7, Lightwave v8, XSI v4 & Others

Okino’s Industry Standard PolyTrans Provides Robust Support for Importing SolidWorks 2005 (and all other major CAD file formats) into the newest DCC/Animation Package Releases

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) February 5, 2022 -- In timing with the SolidWorks World 2005 International User Conference & Exposition, Okino Computer Graphics announced today that its popular SolidWorks CAD conversion pipeline is now compatible with all newly released versions of Maya v6.5, 3ds max v7, Lightwave v8, XSI v9 and others. This conversion pipeline, an industry staple for the last 6 years, allows native SolidWorks BREP CAD assembly and part files (disk based, or from a live running copy of SolidWorks) to be converted to all major animation packages, 3d downstream file formats and VisSim programs. Okino is one of the longest standing SolidWorks solution partner developers, providing excellent and well refined 3D data translation solutions for SolidWorks users and users of SolidWorks data.

Okino's NuGraf and PolyTrans software can import geometry, hierarchy and materials (assembly data) from native disk-based SolidWorks files or from a running copy of SolidWorks, and subsequently provide high-end rendering, viewing and scene composition of the data, or have the data optimized and then re-exported to all major 3D file formats and animation packages .

“Our SolidWorks 3D data conversion system is by far our most popular and most requested CAD conversion pipeline software,” said Robert Lansdale, president and CEO of Okino Computer Graphics, Inc. “We have dedicated a great deal of effort into making our SolidWorks 3D import conversion, repurposing and rendering pipeline the best in the industry over the last seven years. We have seen demand grow quickly, demonstrating that SolidWorks is the dominant solid modeler for its price range and market. Our pipeline solution allows complete SolidWorks parts and assemblies, with all their nuances, to be converted cleanly and professionally to all other major 3D file formats, animation packages and visual simulation programs. In addition, our software implicitly provides support for photo-realistic rendering and scene composition, 3D data and hierarchy optimization and terrific built-in polygon reduction for handling those truly huge scenes that other downstream applications can’t handle without reduction. Our solution is particularly popular for importing SolidWorks assemblies into the 3ds max, Maya, Lightwave, XSI and Cinema-4D animation programs. We also have kept affordable prices for all of our CAD solutions, including free support and maintenance.”

“SolidWorks is the standard for 3D mechanical design software,” said Brian Houle, Partner Program manager for SolidWorks Corporation. “Combining it with Okino’s product line gives engineers the tools they need to do their jobs faster and better by allowing SolidWorks 3D data to be re-purposed for additional downstream uses and applications. Engineers and designers can now re-purpose 3D data to suit their enterprise, including animation and rendering departments, documentation teams, product manual creation staff, and external third party services who want to use SolidWorks data in other 3D software applications that may not understand or accept SolidWorks data directly.”

Okino Computer Graphics Receives the Honor of the "Front Line” Industry Award for its 'Next Generation' PolyTrans v4

Having defined the industry standard for 3D data translation over the last decade and a half, Okino's PolyTrans receives industry recognition with a "Front Line Award" in the '3D Tools' category.

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) February 5, 2022 -- Okino Computer Graphics, a leading provider of 3D data translation technologies and solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as a recipient of the 2004 "Front Line Award" in the 3D Tools category. The category winners were chosen by a panel of 22 judges. Fifty-seven finalists were selected from hundreds of nominees. Eleven winning products were selected across the various category divisions. The other runner-up finalists for the 3D tools category were: Form/Z 4.1 (Auto.Des.Sys), FZ Composer 1.5 (nVidia), gameSpace (Caligari), Impersonator 1.1 (OC3 Entertainment), Lightwave 3D 8.0 (Newtek), Maya 6 (Alias), Painter IX (Corel), PowerSolids 2 (nPowerSoftware), Softimage XSI 4 (Avid) and SpeedTreeRT (IDV Inc). All preceding branded names, product names, or trademarks belong to their respective holders.

As quoted from the January 2005 issue of Game Developer magazine, relating to the award selections:

"As an Art Director I can't count how many times I've heard: 'Can I use software X instead of software Y to do that? I'm so much faster with X.' I'm a big softie, so my answer is always, 'Yes, as long as you can get it into software Y clean and fast.' Of course, that's not always as easy as it sounds. Usually this process is so difficult that after all the translations are done there's no real-time savings. If you count any modifications that happen after the fact, the time lost just isn't worth it. Okino's PolyTrans makes the whole 3D data translation process that much easier. PolyTrans comes with integrated 3DS MAX and Maya plug-ins so you never have to leave your native software. This pipeline is very robust and can translate many types of data -- polygon models, materials, U/Vs, cameras, lights, object and skeleton hierarchies, mesh skinning, and animation. PolyTrans can translate data from many 3D animation and CAD packages, including 3DS MAX, Maya, Lightwave 3D, Mirai, Filmbox, Renderman, Softimage, trueSpace, Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, and many others. PolyTrans provides a functionality that I didn't even think existed at this level. And although it won't transfer everything for everybody, it's the very best importer/exporter you can get." -- Sergio Rosas, Ion Storm.

Some History & Perspective on the Award (By Robert Lansdale, CEO & Founder of Okino). I would first like to say that we are honored, as well as ecstatic, that PolyTrans was chosen as the 3D Tools Front Line Award category winner. For us, this was the “icing on the cake” to end off many years of focused and hard work delivering our next generation & re-architected PolyTrans & NuGraf v4 software family, as well as finally receiving the recognition for all the innovations we have introduced into the 3D data conversion market since the inception of our products 16 years ago.

If there was one single award I have personally wanted Okino to win amongst all others since 1997 it would have been this Front Line Award. Okino has long been the primary innovator and provider of 3D data translation software, pioneering the concept of universal, bidirectional and robust conversion of 3D asset data between all the main CAD, DCC and VisSim file formats and programs, well before other companies found it fashionable to join the game. PolyTrans was the first to provide bidirectional animation conversion amongst all 3D animation programs, the first to bring low cost CAD converters to the masses of DCC (digital content creation) users, the first to provide dedicated & native 3D converter systems for 3DS MAX & Maya (well before they became popular), the first to provide complete scene content conversions with “Load & Render” capabilities (since PolyTrans is/was based on our 16 years of 3D rendering development work), the first to provide accurate, working & guaranteed skinning + skeleton conversions (amongst 3DS MAX, Maya, XSI, Lightwave, DirectX, FBX, etc), the first to provide support for all major 3D file formats in their native forms, and the list goes on. Without doubt PolyTrans has affected the lives and work of thousands of people and companies in the 3D graphics world, reducing their workload considerably (no need to recreate 3D assets from scratch), allowing companies to keep fewer but more specialized 3D artists on staff (no need to retrain them for another 3D animation package if PolyTrans can do the job itself), creating bidirectional 3D pipelines where no such capability existed before in the 3D graphics marketplace, and by having myself and staff provide very personal and hands-on 24x7 tech support to our loyal customers for all these past years.

The Center showcased at ProMat 2005, January 10-13, at Chicago’s McCormick Place South.

At Brighton, Allred will focus on development of marketing strategies and programs for supply chains logistics and RFID clients. By combining her technology expertise with Brighton’s traditional and innovative digital marketing capabilities, Allred will also spearhead Brighton’s business development efforts within those market segments.

“Logistics is important to commerce, and RFID represents one of the greatest technology shifts of the 21st Century” said Roger Yount, president of Brighton. “As businesses fully comprehend the benefits of RFID, we will be in a dynamic market position to serve the numerous segments of this emerging market. Jane is one of the best in the field. We believe her addition solidifies our capabilities in this area and will enable us to create and implement step-change marketing programs for companies in the industry.”

RFID technology creates visibility of components and products throughout the supply chain, eliminating out-of-stock situations, theft, counterfeiting, spoilage, and excess inventory. Its adoption has been fueled by the initiatives of Wal-Mart, the Department of Defense, Proctor & Gamble, International Paper and others which have required some suppliers to be RFID compliant in 2005. It is viewed by many as the replacement for bar code technology.

Allred will remain in the Phoenix area, but spend significant time at client locations as well as Brighton’s St. Louis headquarters.

Packing Slips and Material Handling Automated by New Labeling Technology

Premier Print’s labeling technology makes parcel material handling easy with Auto Pack List, a patented system to automate packing slips and shipping labels while increasing shipment accuracy and workplace efficiency.

(PRWEB) February 1, 2022 -- Premier Print’s patented Auto Pack List vastly improves warehouse distribution with its automated packing slips and shipping label system. A case study on the system was recently discussed in the November 2004 Print Solutions Magazine.

The Auto Pack List is an industry breakthrough designed to dramatically increase profits while eliminating the manual bottleneck in traditional shipping methods. This innovative labeling system is ideal for high volume warehouse distribution as it can automatically print and apply packing slips and shipping labels on at least 20 variable height boxes per minute.

The Auto Pack List labeling technology improves shipping accuracy and efficiency and eliminates labor by automating manual tasks such as printing packing slips and placing them in plastic sleeves. It outperforms 10 manually operated manifesting stations, allowing labor to be distributed elsewhere.

“All I need is someone to throw a box on a conveyor,” said Bruce Raming, Inventor of the Auto Pack List and sales manager of Premier Print.

The labeling system is controlled by hardware and software that prints and applies a confidential packing list onto the box and then prints and applies a shipping label directly on top of the packing list in real time. The packing list remains confidential even though it is adhered to the outside of the box. The system then scans and verifies both the packing list and the shipping label to ensure they were affixed to the correct carton, utilizing true print and apply automation.

The shipping label has an outer-perimeter adhesive border around a non-adhesive center section that can be easily removed by pulling a die cut zipper. Once the shipping label is removed, the confidential packing slip is exposed. The packing slip is designed similarly to the shipping label and can be easily removed. Paper-only packing lists for record keeping purposes. Static Terms and Conditions can be pre-printed on the back of the shipping label and the packing slip.

The Auto Pack List labeling system intrigued a large, well-known multi-billion dollar computer manufacturer who worked with Raming’s system integrator through a six-month sales cycle. The integrator can combine the system with any end user’s existing software. After installing the system, the manufacturer was able to reassign eight employees per shift per conveyor line to other tasks. Pleased with the results, they immediately placed additional orders for more systems. Raming’s success with this major computer manufacturer has opened doors with similar large sized companies.

“Let me tell you how my life has changed,” Raming said. “Someone says to me they want to buy a million labels. That’s a small order.”

For more information on Auto Pack List packing slip labeling technology, including a six minute CD-ROM video presentation, samples, and ROI analysis, visit www.AutoPackList.com or contact Bruce Raming at 800-648-3677 extension 2713.
