LatchTool PowerCylinder™ Named a Top 100 Product of the Year by Design News Magazine

The LatchTool PowerCylinder™, a mechanical force amplifier that turns pounds into tons, was selected by Design News Magazine as one of the best 100 products of the year in its March 7th issue.

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) March 30, 2022 -- The LatchTool PowerCylinder™, a mechanical force amplifier that turns pounds into tons, was selected by Design News Magazine as one of the best 100 products of the year in its March 7th issue. Design News is a Reed Business Information publication serving design engineers. This group of engineers defines the $900 million plus U.S. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) market, a group that produces just about every new product that hits the market.

As an OEM component, engineers now have the ability with the PowerCylinder to add the features of hydraulic power to their product designs without the weight, size, complexity and cost of a hydraulic system.

LatchTool predicts their PowerCylinder will find use as a power boost for hand and power tools and the ability to add strength to prosthetic limbs and a variety of uses where conventional hydraulic power is just too heavy and expensive. The National Fluid Power Association has petitioned the National Science Foundation on behalf of its members to fund $18 million in research at select engineering colleges to develop compact and efficient fluid power technology.

LatchTool CEO Bob McPherson says "Clearly, the fluid power industry recognizes that its technology cannot satisfy the insatiable demand for smaller, simpler and less expensive components and products. There is a huge gap between the force and displacement fluid power can deliver and that delivered by electrically driven systems. But the electrical systems are catching up. The PowerCylinder spans this gap, effectively offering fluid power at the end of a wire. Here the company sees a plethora of applications such as automobile breaking, power steering, robotics, automation and aviation.

"A hundred years ago, the Wright Brothers took their first flight and look where we've ended up. The LatchTool PowerCylinder has just begun, but it won't take a hundred years to see how big an impact the PowerCylinder is about to make."

Industrial Equipment Users Discover Energy Efficient Direct Drive Air Compressors

Foregoing belts and gears, direct-drive air compressor systems yield electrical cost savings of up to 8%.

Michigan City, IN (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) March 30, 2022 -- As upper management achieves increased productivity from its headcount by mandating 40-hour-plus workweeks, today's facility managers now stand equally responsible for upping an organization's bottom line by seeking increased energy efficiency from plant equipment. In a case of "doing more with less," plant engineers are increasingly turning to direct-drive electric air compressor systems that extract greater power out of every single watt, raising the bar for efficiency in industrial equipment.

Recent innovations by manufacturers such as Sullivan- Palatek, a manufacturer of direct drive rotary screw air compressors, allow an array of manufacturing and processing plants to profit from greater energy savings in their electric motor-driven pressurized-air operations.

The efficiency benefits of these new-technology air compressor systems stem from two important design improvements. Primarily, the Sullivan-Palatek compressors utilize a direct-drive rotary screw, which eliminates unnecessary moving parts such as belts, gears and pulleys, reducing the parasitic losses attributed to belts (4-8% loss) and gears (3-5%). Secondly, these compressors employ larger rotors in the air-end assemblies that, in effect, offer a "higher displacement" so they turn slower while producing an equivalent amount of cubic feet per minute of air than smaller units.

"You get more air, at higher pressure, using less horsepower, with the newer direct-drive compressors," says Steve Van Loan, President at Sullivan-Palatek. "Other electric air compressors, particularly in the 5-100 hp range, are belt or gear driven. However, by omitting the unneeded gears and pulleys you can reduce drive-line friction and improve energy efficiency from 3-8%."

As an example, manufacturers requiring a specific amount of air flow for a given process can use a direct drive rotary screw air compressor that only requires 100 hp, as opposed to needing a belt or gear-driven system that might require 112 HP to produce the same amount of air. For a compressor running 24/7, the savings can amount to over $7000 annually, figured at the DOE national average of 8.6 cents per kWh.

Sullivan-Palatek manufactures industrial equipment such as electric and diesel driven high performance rotary screw air compressors.

Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. Rapid Expansion Moves Them into Central California

JWT Site Management will begin servicing builders and contractors in Fresno and Madera Counties of Central California.

Elk Grove, CA (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) March 30, 2022 -- Concrete Washout Systems, Inc., announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with JWT Site Management of Clovis, California, who will distribute and service Concrete Washout Systems (CWS) in the Central California counties of Madera, Fresno, Kings and Tulare.

JWT Site Management currently operates as a construction site management company providing a full compliment of erosion control and storm water pollution prevention services to contractors, builders and developers.

"JWT Site Management is eager to be the distributor for Concrete Washout Systems to contractors and developers in Central California. As the needs of contractors and developers grow, there is no question that the concrete washout bins will be a great addition in staying compliant with SWPPP," stated Bart Jones, owner of JWT Site Management. "With the positive feedback we have already received, we feel the demand for concrete washout bins will be overwhelming. In addition, we look forward to building a strong business relationship with Concrete Washout Systems," added Mr. Jones.

"We are excited to have JWT on board as a partner. Their existing business relationships, understanding and knowledge of the erosion control industry will help propel their transition into this new niche market," stated Kevin Mickelson, Vice President of Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. "The potential in their market is untapped and there has been tremendous interest developing due to state and regional stormwater and waste diversion regulations. JWT will be providing a much needed risk management solution and providing a value added service to compliment their current services," added Mr. Mickelson.

CWS is currently seeking licensed partners in numerous markets across the nation. Each partner will own and operate a Concrete Washout Systems business in their designated region, where they will be responsible for all aspects of the business.

The patent pending CWS is a portable, self-contained and watertight bin that controls, captures and contains concrete washout material and wastewater. It allows trade personnel to easily washout concrete trucks, pumps and equipment on site and facilitates easy off site recycling of the same concrete materials and wastewater, while protecting the storm drain system from potential illegal discharges. The off site recycling component creates an even more environmentally sound application as concrete material is diverted away from landfills and recycled. This system replaces other outdated washout BMP’s, which are costly, unsightly and damaging to the environment since their containment value diminishes, due to inherently faulty material, over use and lack of maintenance.

About Concrete Washout Systems, Inc.
Concrete Washout Systems is a risk management specialist and industry pioneer in concrete washout and wastewater removal, treatment and recycling. The patent-pending Concrete Washout Systems provides a cost effective, environmentally friendly and compliance alternative for homebuilders, contractors, ready mix and pump operators and environmental engineering firms. CEOs And Boards Are Locked In A Spiral Of Doom, Says Leadership Expert

Company boards are firing CEOs at record rates. Leadership expert, Brent Filson, says the real reasons are being overlooked. Those reasons have to do with the "spiral of doom".

(PRWEB) March 29, 2022 -- American CEOs are dropping like flies. Company boards, armed with new federal rules and stock exchange requirements coming in the wake of the corporate scandals of the past few years, are getting rid of underperforming CEOs at record rates.

Last month marked the fourth consecutive increase in monthly CEO replacements and the first time in four years that more than 100 CEOs left their jobs. This trend is all the more notable because it's happening during an improving economy and stock market.

However, leadership expert, Brent Filson, says the real reasons for the CEO bloodbath are being overlooked.

"Analysts pin the bloodbath on the CEOs," says Filson, "but it's not just the CEOs who are failing. Boards are failing too. Working with thousands of leaders worldwide for more than twenty years, I've learned that there is a ‘spiral of doom' at work in the relationship between many corporate boards and their CEOs. Most boards are clueless as to what leadership skills are needed for CEOs to succeed. So they hire clueless CEOs. Clueless boards hiring clueless CEOs -- it's the classic spiral of doom."

Filson says that the reason boards and CEOs misunderstand leadership is that recently there has been a tectonic shift in leadership skills CEOs need to succeed.

"In the 80s and 90s, the autocratic CEO reigned supreme. Many companies were like slow-moving ocean liners with autocratic captains giving orders to mates and mates giving orders to the crew. But today the combination of globalization and the entrance of new, differently manageable generations of workers into the workforce is creating the need for new kinds of leadership. Today, CEO leadership is no longer like piloting an ocean liner but like white water canoeing. It's leadership that calls for flattened organizations that can change direction rapidly and accurately, decentralized decision-making, motivated employees, and inspiring relationships. The era of the autocratic leader is over. Yet most boards know no other way of leadership but autocracy. I often think they wouldn't know the new leadership if it hit them in their collective face."

Filson provides a three step process for boards and CEOs to stop the spiral of doom.

"First, boards must be aware of the crucial differences between autocratic leadership and the new leadership. Autocratic leaders can be spotted a mile away. They're the chiefs with the ‘my-way-or-the-highway' leadership philosophy. They're long on order-giving and short on listening. They're great at micro-managing and poor at motivation. They're great at caring for the company's results and poor at promoting the welfare of the people who must achieve those results.

"Second, boards must avoid hiring autocrats and hire instead CEOs who are skilled in the new leadership. The new leaders ask a lot of questions. They consult with people rather than command them. They have a passion not only for achieving results but for promoting the well-being of the people who must achieve the results. They listen well. They have the courage to allow others to fail. They challenge people to be better than they think they can be. They are continually enhancing the leadership skills of others. And they recognize that rewards and punishments are the lowest forms of leadership.

"Selecting these leaders entails going to great pains in the interview process to have candidates talk about their leadership philosophy, ways they have manifested that philosophy, and ways they intend to manifest it as their CEO.

"And third, boards must continually monitor and evaluate the CEO on how he/she is carrying out such leadership. Such monitoring and evaluation should be as intensely scrutinized as the results of the company are scrutinized."

Phoenix Firm Launches Patent Research Tool

The new web based service allows researchers, attorneys, and corporations to download PDF versions of issued and published patents from The United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) March 28, 2022 -- Phoenix-based Crystal Logic, a leading developer of advanced web applications, announces the immediate availability of PatentFly. The new web based service allows researchers, attorneys, and corporations to download PDF versions of issued and published patents from The United States Patent and Trademark Office.

"We interviewed a number of patent attorneys and researchers and found that they were wasting a lot of time accessing and downloading patents," said LaSean Smith, Crystal Logic Principal and Co-Founder. "The patent download process currently available through the USPTO is very cumbersome and difficult to manage. You have to download patents a single page at a time, and the provided TIFF file format is not as familiar to customers as the common Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Imagine going through this process for a handful of 50-page patents. We simplified the process and now any available USPTO patent can be downloaded as a PDF. With advanced features such as download queuing, document templates, and document merging the PatentFly service will be a welcome addition to anyone tasked with compiling or archiving patents. Extensive development resources have been focused on the usability of the service. An online service can have tons of great features, but it won’t be successful if it's not easy to use. As a result of our focus, usability has become a stand out feature of PatentFly. In addition, we've also provided multiple pricing options that will accommodate various customer needs."

With the launch of PatentFly, Crystal Logic continues to hold a leadership position in the web application market delivering compelling web-based applications that focus on usability and market-driven needs. There are plans to extend the PatentFly platform to other services.

(PRWEB) March 25, 2022 -- Immersive Technologies announces the release of the Series 2B Advanced Equipment (AE) Simulator. The Series 2B builds on the highly successful industry leading Series 2 by providing Immersive Technologies’ new ES Nexus Technology and Occupant Comfort System (OCS) plus a new Semi-Transportable option.

Wayde Salfinger, Executive Director Simulation Development and Architecture at Immersive Technologies said “Our Series 2 AE Simulators are the established benchmark for simulation training in the Mining Industry with 60 units deployed around the world. The release of the Series 2B raises this standard through improved flexibility, occupant comfort levels and the introduction of ES Nexus Technology which puts the infrastructure in place for our next generation of Conversion Kits.”

ES Nexus Technology is the result of three years of research and development conducted by Immersive Technologies. This system now forms the backbone of the electronic to software communication system in our new Series 2B training simulator products.

With ES Nexus compliant Conversion Kits, each console is now an intelligent component that allows the integration of second generation devices which require high data communication rates such as audio and video that further extends the level of training skills transfer. ES Nexus Technology is designed for the extreme conditions typical in Mining related environments. This reliability further extends AE Simulator’s proven infield availability. ES Nexus Technology allows Immersive Technologies to further accelerate the development process and bring high quality, highly supportable products to the market in shorter timeframes.

The new OCS included in the AE Simulator Series 2B Transportable simulator further ensures the trainer and trainee receive a consistent and sufficient flow of filtered fresh air. This results in maximum trainee concentration levels within a highly comfortable learning environment.

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) March 23, 2022 -- EcoComposite LLC, a new force in the design and production of commercial fuel cell systems, today announced the successful test of its proprietary Becker Fuel Cell Plate technology by the prestigious Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis.

“Test results over a period of two days demonstrated that EcoComposite’s proprietary plate technology functioned appropriately and the performance was similar to that expected from graphite plates normally used in fuel cells," said Marshall Miller, Senior Development Engineer at the Institute. “Based upon these test results, there is every expectation that EcoComposite’s fuel cell plates will perform well in fuel cell systems and can be used as a much more economic alternative to standard graphite and other plate systems currently available.”

The neutral, third party tests were performed on prototype fuel cells built using the Becker plate technology in a standard configuration.

The Becker Fuel Cell Plate is named after its inventor, Mr. Rolf Becker, founder of EcoComposite. “This recent achievement opens the door for cost-effective fuel cell systems to be produced in both large and small quantities,” stated Becker. “EcoComposite will play a critical role in the advancement of the fuel cell industry and acceleration of acceptance of fuel cell technology by consumers and commercial industries.”

Winslow Geo Anchor “Bridges” Stream as Alternative to Concrete Piers New Application Enables Development of Prime Hillside Lots and Provides 50% Cost Savings

Pacific Housing Systems' Winslow Geo Anchor was used for the foundation of a 70-foot bridge (H20-44 loading) project in Walnut Creek, CA (about 25 miles east of SF) was used for the foundation of a 70-foot bridge (H20-44 loading). Pacific Housing Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of next generation foundation, floor and core solutions for residential homebuilders developing projects where marginal soil is prevalent. Its solutions enable developers to increase the speed, quality and quantity of new home deliveries and maximize their market share of new housing starts.

Pleasant Hill, CA (PRWEB) March 23, 2022 -- Pacific Housing Systems today announced the completion of its portion of a project in Walnut Creek, CA (about 25 miles east of SF), where its Winslow Geo Anchor was used for the foundation of a 70-foot bridge (H20-44 loading).

The span is now being built, and will cross a good size stream, enabling the development of two prime hillside lots that were previously restricted due to the simple inability of transporting materials from one side to the other. 14 anchors were used in the foundation - seven on each side - instead of 20 piers initially architected. The structure will easily meet the 37-ton load (enough to support a county fire engine) requirement, as "each" anchor has been tested at 50 tons capability.

Rick Kolby, principal of the group developing the project, Tice Valley Partners, said, “In addition to the nearly 50% we saved in materials and labor, the Winslow Geo Anchor had no impact on the stream itself. It was easily installed, is environmentally friendly and extremely structurally sound -- factors made the code and review process easy. In essence, we were able to provide a much better look and feel to the entire area, and that will be a huge benefit as the years go by and future households enjoy the residences.”

CompAmerica Announces Expansion of it's Client Centric Onsite Installation Maintenance Programs for Telephony, Local Network Infrastructure and Internet Technology

At lower rates and higher success factor than competitive businesses, whether used during movement from one location to another, or for day to day services, CompAmerica's new onsite presence program exceeds expectations.

(PRWEB) March 16, 2022 -- CompAmerica, a national white box PC manufacturer and reseller, has announced it is expanding it's high standard of reliability onsite installation maintenance programs for its customers. Customers wanting installation support, can now obtain contracts for planning and onsite work services for their premises. The unusual program covers all forms of technology equipment including PC LAN networks running under Microsoft Windows or Linux, Telephone PBX systems with or without interconnect to LANs, including Lucent, Nortel, Seimans, and many other brands, networking on premises and off, and internet services, including hosting, email and programming.

Also included in the new "Umbrella Services Program"(tm) are VOIP (voice over internet) support, as well all other computational and datacommunications facilities provisioning and assistance personnel.

"We are working with customers on a one-on-one basis to integrate CompAmerica PC, Laptop and Server Technology into and with a mixed/hybrid environment. That includes support for telephone Private Branch Exchange Systems from any manufacturer, and existing Messaging, Mail Server, and Internet networking. We are also providing maintenance, updates and service work on pre-owned elements of the customer's infrastructure, regardless of brand presence," stated a spokesperson.

"We're working problem solvers, fixing problems as we encounter them, working from the inevitably short time schedule and critical plans our customers require to assure profitable use of technology and extreme levels of reliability."

"We've found our high reliability, low cost approach works best. It allows us to apply resources to repairing, programming and enhancing existing Voice, Data and Video networking technology, while enhancing the Internet Presence usable by them for greater efficiencies!" she added.

The company indicated it's personnel are cross trained on 95% of all existing PBX and Telephone Switching Systems and Central Office Equipment, and on mediation of translation issues with the mainstream common carriers such as Sprint, AT&T;, Verizon, MCI, SBC and Qwest.

The company also indicated it is providing 100% uptime service and support for any and all brands of PC, Server, Printer, Scanner, LAN Equipment and communications gear. The company indicated that it felt this capability enhanced it's ability to cross integrate pre-existing and legacy environments with it's own PC and Telephony products.

It felt this will all it to bridge different technology segments... bringing it's enormous volume of knowledge about Windows and Unix/Linux based computation to bear at the heart of customer workforce locations where communications, messaging and computation technology was highly depended upon.

"We can make an enormous difference to our customers, because we take the time to reason out the proper solution and to work with Carriers and Vendors to resolve interoperability issues, solve geographical and facilities issues, and innovate solutions that can carry our customers forward in a way that, on their own, they are otherwise impeded. The savings in elimination of waste, unnecessary duplication of work and improvement of communications and application services computationally are enormous," stated the company president, Dr. Jack A. Shulman.

Adding: "There are too many 'Pitchers' out there using TV ads and promises of mythological service by phone. Every one of them is trying to land a strike in your company's backyard, by throwing you a box full of PCs or PBX's or Cable/DSL modems with only setup instructions and a phone number. They actually expect everything to fall convincingly together enough for you to keep on buying and to think you are gaining benefit when you are not really fully benefiting from what you have invested in. What it really boils down to is personnel function and corporate form and fit. What I mean by that is: if the Corporation's form is not fit and the personnel don't function, then you, Corporate Management, are going to strike out. And in these times it only takes a couple of strike outs to get you thrown out of the game."

CompAmerica indicated it was surprised at how many company executives did not realize that the game plan of major technology America was to seriously minimize the support cost by misleading it's customers into believing you just "Set it and forget it."

"Do that, and those top five PC and top five Phone companies will simply take your money and forget you..." added Shulman. "You need a customer centric partner to make your corporate dreams come true. And after all these years, my own vision is to make it possible for our clients to have those dreams come true, by having the skilled advice of a trusted partner who is simply on your side. That's all it's ever been about, skill and trust. I believe the party paying the bill deserves the principle benefit of the work performed or equipment sold, not the party being paid for same. And that makes CompAmerica quite unique: we believe our customers have enormous potential to achieve greater and greater successes. They simply need a partner they trust to help them smooth the rough edges that go along with modern technology, to work out the flukes that inevitably show up, and to alleviate the headaches of dealing with pre-conceived solutions that fit like a slightly rounded square peg into a slightly oblique square hole."

"We make it possible to succeed at application and communication, without having to be rocket scientists, even if the customer is a firm making rockets or staffed with scientists. Use your time more productively on company business, not trying to monkey around with computers and communications systems all day long trying to make them work out. We call that kind of perpetual need to tinker with your technology to make it work at all: 'monkey business' and it's not something you want to have to pay through the nose for. Technology should support you, not the other way around."

Interestingly, the company also noted that the top vendors did not seem particularly fearful of it's unusually customer centric approach. It indicated that most of the top companies relied so heavily on sub contractors, that the idea that there was one out their to help their customers "do the job right" seemed to most of them to sound "refreshingly different."

CompAmerica, a leader in PCs, Servers and Laptops for business and private users, is located in Cranford, NJ, and maintains a general website at http://www.compamerica.com

California Waste Recovery Will Be Servicing Builders and Contractors in Fast Growing California Counties; San Joaquin and Stanislaus

Elk Grove, CA (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) March 15, 2022 -- Concrete Washout Systems, Inc., announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with California Waste Recovery Systems (Calwaste) who will distribute and service Concrete Washout Systems (CWS) in San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties of California.

Calwaste, an established solid waste hauling company led by Dave Vaccarezza, an industry veteran in the waste hauling industry, will begin servicing the San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties in addition to their current operations. Calwaste was using a similar product to Concrete Washout Systems patent pending invention as they saw the demand and need developing, but realized the value added proposition of a strong partnership with the leading authority in the concrete washout and recycling marketplace.

“California Waste Recovery Systems welcomes the partnership of Concrete Washout Systems to our family of businesses. Together we are poised and ready to meet the challenges of the booming construction Industry in the Central Valley with this new and innovative product,” stated Dave Vaccarezza, Owner of California Waste Recovery Systems.

“We are very excited to have and industry veteran with Dave’s accomplishments and experience come aboard, realizing the value and opportunity in our business model,” stated Kevin Mickelson, Vice President of Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. “Calwaste has a proven and distinguished track record within the waste hauling industry and with its customer base we feel they are a great addition and asset to our business,” added Mr.

Hermetically Sealed Optical Window Technology by Tekna Seal and FloMet

Hermetically sealed optical window technology delivers revolutionary results - developed through a new combination of Metal Injection Molded materials coupled with superior glass to metal sealing process.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) March 10, 2022 -- http://www.teknaseal.com – Tekna Seal LLC, a custom manufacturer of glass to metal seals and ceramic to metal seals, and FloMet LLC today announce a new joint capability to make hermetically sealed optical windows using glass designed specifically for optical applications. The significance of this new process is that for the first time manufacturers of optical systems can now create hermetically sealed packages using the highest quality optical glass. The new process eliminates the compromise between the reliability of the seal or degrading the image quality due to thermal expansion mismatches between the bonded materials.

Tekna Seal’s oxide-free glass sealing process delivers improved optical windows that are used to protect cameras, photo detectors and imaging semiconductors such as CCD, CMOS and optical MEMS devices used in applications such as high definition television -HDTV. The helium leak rates of the hermetically sealed optical windows are well below current industry standards. Low leak rates are obtained using the Tekna Seal oxide-free process and provide the best protection available from contamination such as hydrocarbons or moisture thus extending the life of such optical window devices.

Until now, optical designers were faced with the choice between using substandard glass or tolerating stresses induced by the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) mismatch between the glasses and metals available. FloMet has leveraged its ability to create custom Metal Injection Molded (MIM) feedstocks designed with a specific CTE matching the glass selected for desired optical properties. This capability, in conjunction with Tekna Seal’s oxide-free glass sealing process, allows for a wider range of glass materials to be sealed as compared to conventional glass to metal sealing processes.

“While controlled expansion alloys have been commercially available for more than 100 years, the key benefits of using MIM controlled expansion alloys are that they can be tailored to accurate and repeatable CTE specs and made in smaller batch sizes unlike conventional wrought alloys. This allows us to be flexible and responsive to the development of new material combinations for optical windows,” said Arlan Clayton, president of Tekna Seal and FloMet.

The direct glass-to-MIM seals provided by Tekna Seal and FloMet have considerable cost advantages as well as significantly lower helium leak rates when compared to conventional hermetic sealing methods. The windows are optically configured after the sealing process which, in combination with CTE matched MIM alloys, provides the absolute lowest stress joint in a true hermetically sealed window.

New Solar-Powered Vehicle Barriers Provide Anti-terrorist Protection for Remote U.S. Government Dam

Intelligent Perimeter Systems’ retractable barriers go from invisible to fully upright in seconds and stop vehicles up to 30,000 pounds traveling at 50 miles per hour. The new technology allows high-security vehicle barriers to be installed to protect unmanned facilties and remote locations lacking electrical power.

Dublin, OH (PRWEB) March 7, 2022 -- Intelligent Perimeter Systems (IPS), a manufacturer of advanced counter-terrorist vehicle barrier and traffic control systems, today announced it has completed installation of an innovative perimeter security system at an undisclosed U.S. Bureau of Reclamation dam in the western U.S.

The Bureau of Reclamation awarded the security contract to IPS in July 2004. “The mission was to provide counter-terrorist protection in a remote location lacking access to electrical power,” said IPS CEO Ronald E. Scherer. “Our solar-powered Model 400 barriers, combined with a custom monitoring system that permits authorized personnel to monitor the status of the barriers in real-time, created an ideal perimeter security system for this unmanned location.”

Designed to stop a 30,000-pound vehicle traveling at 50 mph, the retractable steel posts (also called bollards) are installed underground in sets of three or four, with the top of each post flush with the roadway. At the push of a button, the swipe of an access card, or a signal from a radio controller or satellite, the 1,400-pound bollards spring upright, reaching their full height of 36 inches in 6 seconds or less. Each bollard has self-contained hydraulic pumps and integrated battery backup, increasing its tamper resistance. A fully redundant design with no single point of failure ensures that the system works even if one barrier fails.

“The ability to operate from solar power represents a distinct advance in vehicle barrier technology,” Scherer said. “From desert locations to mountainous areas, we are taking orders for anti-terrorist vehicle barriers in places that couldn’t be adequately protected prior to the introduction of our products.”

IPS has had a number of other major installations and orders over the past 6 months, allowing the company to expand its manufacturing facilities in Battle Creek, Michigan. IPS systems currently protect major utility, government and corporate facilities around the U.S.

About Intelligent Perimeter Systems
Headquartered in the Dublin, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus), Intelligent Perimeter Systems is an innovative developer and integrator of retractable traffic control and vehicle barrier systems. Its products allow government and private organizations to create a secure, protected environment for people and property. Developed through a Department of Defense anti-terrorism grant, the company’s high-security vehicle control systems create an impenetrable barrier that deploys in seconds and holds K12 anti-terrorist certification from the U.S. Department of State. Genesis Fueltech Completes 10,000 Hour Fuel Processor Test

Genesis Fueltech reports on long-term testing of the company’s methanol to pure (99.9999%) hydrogen fuel processor. This processor (or “reformer”) has operated for ten thousand (10,000) hours with greater than 99% availability. Testing also demonstrated the reformer’s ability to respond almost instantaneously to varying fuel demands from a fuel cell.

(PRWEB) March 4, 2022 -- Genesis Fueltech reports on long-term testing of the company’s methanol to pure (99.9999%) hydrogen fuel processor.

This processor (or “reformer”) has operated for ten thousand (10,000) hours with greater than 99% availability. The only problems encountered throughout the test were one clogged fuel line and one thermocouple that had to be replaced. Much of the testing was conducted supplying hydrogen to a 500 watt PEM fuel cell with power delivered through an inverter to an AC load bank

The reformer uses a proprietary higher temperature methanol catalyst developed by Genesis. The catalyst facilitates both the fuel conversion and “shift” reactions. The catalyst has shown no performance deterioration over the life of the test.

This earlier generation fuel processor achieved net peak efficiency of 79% and thermal efficiency of 83%. Testing also demonstrated the reformer’s ability to respond almost instantaneously to varying fuel demands from a fuel cell, for example, from a zero load to 80% load in less than three seconds.

The newest fuel processor developed by Genesis is the Model 20L. This processor has an effective operating range of zero to twenty liters of hydrogen per minute. The reformer automatically “load tracks”, that is, it is completely responsive to the hydrogen needs of a fuel cell system. It achieves a net operating efficiency in excess of 80%

The Model 20L is designed for rack mounting with dimensions of 19 inches by 8.5 inches by 17 inches. It weighs 50 pounds (23 kilograms) and is very quiet (less than 56 decibels at three feet). Parasitic power at full load is 36 watts.

Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, Genesis Fueltech is a world leader in compact, high efficiency alcohol to pure hydrogen processors for the fuel cell industry. For more information contact Phillip Piffer, CEO of Genesis Fueltech, Inc. at 509-534-5787

Inpro/Seal Expands Sealing System Product Line for Powder and Bulk Applications

Articulating Seal that Handles Shaft Misalignment to Keep Equipment Running Longer
Inpro/Seal has introduced their Articulating Air Mizer™-, PS a sealing system developed to positively seal equipment where dry particulates, powders and bulk solids are handled, processed, packaged and stored. Once installed, the system helps contain powders, abrasives, liquids and toxic vapors. In addition, it handles extreme shaft misalignment and deflection, common in these kinds of applications to provide a seal that traditional methods simply cannot attain. A unique design feature uses a solid wall of air that functions as a barrier for contamination and works to retain product where it should be - in the equipment. The highest levels of performance are assured by virtue of an inherent non-contact design feature that avoids direct egress of the particulate material.

Rock Island, IL (PRWEB) March 2, 2022 -- Building on the ongoing success of their ability to positively seal equipment in dry powder and bulk process applications, Inpro/Seal has introduced their Articulating Air Mizer™-, PS sealing system.

Two Sealing Solutions
With this system Inpro/Seal now offers two sealing solutions for the containment of powders, abrasives, liquids and toxic vapors: the Air Mizer™-PS and the Articulating Air Mizer™- PS, a sealing system with upgraded design features.

Both were developed for use on equipment where dry particulates, powders and bulk solids are handled, processed, packaged and stored. Examples include: screw conveyors, gate valves, feeders, mixers, blenders, gates, clinker grinders, bucket elevators, diverters, scales, bagging machines, dust collectors, discharges, classifiers, screens, extruders, separators, shredders, sifters, metal detectors, pulverizers, crushers, coolers, augers, transfer pumps, fillers and similar dry powder and bulk processing machinery.

Result Of Continuous R & D
The result of direct customer request, input and feedback, continuous R&D; and extensive field testing and trials, the Articulated Air Mizer-PS has all the features of the original Air Mizer™-PS and adds the ability to handle extreme shaft misalignment and deflection, common in these kinds of applications to provide a seal that traditional methods simply cannot attain.

Ineffective Sealing Methods
Before the advent of the Articulated Air Mizer-PS end users had to deal with sealing methods that did not last because of shaft runout. Mechanical seals work on a contact basis and are subject to excess wear on the seal faces as they make contact. Seal faces have been known to wear out in as little as 3,000 hours.

Fibrous packings are also subject to wear and short lifetimes from runout where packing in the stuffing boxes compress and create a leak path. Packing can soften to the point where powder can leak to the outside, causing environmental problems. Tightening may renew the seal, but only for a relatively short period of time.

Successful Product At Heart Of Air Miser Seal
To counter, Inpro/Seal took their bearing isolator, a compound labyrinth bearing protection device, that they invented (and patented) in 1977 and modified it for use with dry particulates, powders and bulk solids.

A major innovation includes a unique design feature that uses a solid wall of air that functions as a barrier for contamination and works to retain product where it should be - in the equipment. The highest levels of performance are assured by virtue of an inherent non-contact design feature that avoids direct egress of the particulate material.

Latest In Non-Contact Technology
According to David C. Orlowski, President of Inpro/Seal and the holder of some 40 related patents, “Realizing the importance of what production continuity and what lost product can mean to the bottom line, several years ago, we introduced our Air Mizer Sealing System. This system has proven to help end users boost equipment reliability, reduce costs, extend sealing efficiencies and increase bottom line results, without equipment modification.”

Orlowski continued, “As time went on, more and more end users came to us with the same need. Beside the other problems they were having with contact seals, shaft deflection, run-out and misalignment was also causing seal faces to wear out and equipment to break down on a too rapid basis. Angular misalignment and mounting conditions, in particular, were hard to deal with.”

Orlowski concluded, “To solve this problem, working closely with our customers, our R & D people developed the Articulating Air Mizer™-PS, a sealing system that uses the latest in non-contacting technology with an air purge that accepts radial and angular shaft runout up to ¼”. Shaft diameters from ½ in - 36 in. No other sealing mechanism can do this.”-

No Equipment Modification, Easy to Install
The Articulating Air Mizer™-PS, sealing system is custom-engineered to suit individual applications. It is easy to install as it conforms to existing clearances, boltholes and patterns for bearings and/or stuffing boxes. Split designs allow for installation directly on the shaft without removal.

More Benefits
Additional benefits include: lower maintenance costs, reduction in lost product, unscheduled downtime virtually eliminated and meet regulatory needs. As with all other Inpro/Seal products same day shipping is available.

SwiftCD Expands Ordering, Integration and Reporting Tools for Customers

To better serve its many large-scale corporate and institutional customers worldwide, SwiftCD® (www.SwiftCD.com) has unveiled an impressive new suite of integration capabilities, as well as a number of additional service enhancements to its patent-pending Build-to-Order technology.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 1, 2022 -- To better serve its many large-scale corporate and institutional customers worldwide, SwiftCD® has unveiled an impressive new suite of integration capabilities, as well as a number of additional service enhancements to its patent-pending Build-to-Order technology. SwiftCD (www.SwiftCD.com) is a branch of DigitalSwift Corporation, and is the leader in on-demand CD/DVD manufacturing and fulfillment. The company offers a full range of logistics, manufacturing, warehousing and fulfillment services.

Many of the new integration capabilities are part of SwiftCD's unique XML-based Web Services (SOAP), and greatly extend the support options and capabilities already available to commercial and institutional customers, while even further streamlining the flexibility and ease of SwiftCD's order transmission process.

"SwiftCD continues to grow at a rapid pace, and we're committed to taking our customers with us," comments Jason Foodman, Chief Executive Officer. "By expanding on our already robust order transmission and integration capabilities, we enable our vendors deliver more personalized, and just plain more products to their customers. We've also further enhanced our patent-pending build-to-order process allowing more customization by our clients."

New key capabilities include:
• Special Custom CD Contents, written "on the fly" -- Building on the existing patent-pending Build-To-Order technology SwiftCD offers, this exciting new option allows SwiftCD customers to send an HTML menu for each CD burned and shipped by SwiftCD, and to then customize the Contents Menu for 20-plus items on the CD in a few simple steps.

• Dynamic Logo URLs -- For our on-demand CD and DVD manufacturing customers, this enhancement means that up to three dynamic logo URLs can now be sent with each order. SwiftCD will then automatically download the logos and print them on the CD label in predefined locations.

• Return Address Flexibility and Automation -- Up to three return address lines may now be sent with each order. SwiftCD can then use this dynamic return address to print a customized return address label for each individual mailer, as well.

In addition, SwiftCD's patent-pending Build-To-Order technology has also been extended. These new features include:
•Custom Script Capability -- SwiftCD will initiate a custom script from the customer's remote server when an order is received. This script can, in turn, be used to assemble customized CD content for the order, such as a CD HTML menu which has been customized with the purchaser's name.

•Hyperlink Availability (for Build-a-CD Assembly) -- SwiftCD now has the capability to include custom hyperlinks inside the Build-a-CD assembly pages.

By adding these new features and extensions, SwiftCD continues to build upon its leadership position in the CD/DVD duplication, replication and logistics/fulfillment industry.
