ImageID Announces New Release of Visidot™ AIDC Product Suite, an “Alternative to RFID” for Manufacturers, Retailers

Visidot System Is Cost-Effective, Standards-Based Alternative to RFID for Multiple Asset Tracking - ImageID Ltd. today introduced a new version of its Visidot™ Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) system – an accurate and cost-effective solution for rapid multiple-asset AIDC and asset tracking.

Tel Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) May 26, 2021 -- ImageID Ltd. today introduced a new version of its Visidot™ Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) system – an accurate and cost-effective solution for rapid multiple-asset AIDC and asset tracking.

In the Visidot System (http://www.visidot.com), assets are uniquely labeled with standard 2D Data Matrix barcodes or with Visidot Colorcodes. As assets pass in front of the Visidot Reader, the reader captures hundreds of labels simultaneously and transmits the information to an image processing system, which decodes the data from each label. This asset data is exported to a data management system in XML or other standard format. Images can be stored in a separate Image Bank. An easy-to-use Site Management System controls the entire process.

The new Visidot release introduces the ability to detect and decode all variations of the Standard (ISO/IEC 16022) Data Matrix 2D barcode symbology with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Support for this standard symbology is added to the commercially proven Visidot Colorcode symbology.

“Today, the Visidot system delivers all the inherent benefits of traditional barcode technology, yet far surpasses it in terms of speed and efficiency of code capture – especially for tracking multiple assets,” said Roger Hecker, Product Marketing Manager for Visidot. “In addition, at accuracy levels of near-100% in actual installations, the Visidot solution is both more reliable and more cost-effective than RFID solutions.”

Industry-Proven
The Visidot system is field proven in key manufacturing and retail industry applications, including inbound and outbound shipment verification, management of reusable assets and identification of labels from long distances and in a large field of view.

- Tracking & Tracing Reusable Assets: IFCO Systems, a leading supplier of reusable plastic containers (RPC's) with more than 260 million rentals per year, was looking for a way to track each of its millions of RPC's throughout its network of over 40 RPC Service Centers and Storage depots all over Europe and North America. The Visidot solution is providing IFCO traceability of labeled crates, real-time views of inventory at depots, views of crate cycle times, accurate records of customer shipments/returns, and the foundation for improving customer request response time.

- Managing Bulky Assets in Manufacturing: Positioning bulky assets in automotive and aerospace manufacturing for traditional barcode scanning is often impractical or even impossible, as is RFID scanning involving metal assets or in metal-heavy environments.

The Ford Motor Company successfully installed a Visidot AIDC System at the Ford F150 plant in Dearborn to improve production speed and increase plant efficiency. The Ford plant, which produces Ford F150's, uses a fully automated Build Order system to produce its trucks. With multiple frame types to choose from, the company was looking for the most efficient way to expedite verification of the chassis type as it was being placed onto the production line. In December 2004, the company decided to install the Visidot system at the frame entrance to the plant to identify and verify the correct selection of the chassis type before it reached the conveyor belt inside. The newly installed Visidot reader captures a 2D Data Matrix label affixed to each chassis and confirms, in real-time with Ford’s production line controller, that the chassis is correct and can enter the assembly line. Since installation, the system accuracy has been perfect - 100%.

- Shipping Verification: In the retail supply chain field, the Visidot can help reduce costly charge-backs from retail customers by verifying all of the boxes in each outbound order and to use the stored image from each read as proof of shipment and condition.

The Visidot system components and features include:
- The Visidot Reader consists of a robust processing module and up to four image capture devices. The image capture devices scan assets in a large field of view, such as a full pallet load, and send digital images to the processor, running the Visidot Detect & Decode software. The Detect & Decode software, a set of sophisticated algorithms, detects all of the 2D Data Matrix barcodes or Visidot Colorcodes in the images and decodes them. The decoded data is transferred to the WMS, ERP, EDI or other system via standard data formats such as XML or RS-232. The entire reading process, from image capture to data export of hundreds of codes, takes only a few seconds. The highly accurate data provides real-time per-asset traceability, verification of outbound/inbound movements and updated inventory data.

- The Visidot Viewer, located at every reading point, provides a visual display of each read and its detections and enables immediate corrective action. For example, by automatically comparing the actual shipments with order data from WMS, OMS and EDI systems, the Viewer enables warehouse personnel to see, in real-time, which items are missing or not supposed to be on a pallet and add or remove items from the shipment.

- Visidot Image Bank Server stores the images and decoded data from all reads at a site and enables quick access for viewing past reads. Having a visual record of each read provides powerful evidence for proof of quantity and condition for every item in every shipment.

- Visidot Site Management System is a centralized management console that configures and monitors all Visidot Readers at a customer facility. With the ability to view recent reads from all readers, configure parameters and monitor performance, the Visidot Site Management System ensures fast corrective actions and optimal system performance.

“Through our commitment to global barcode standards such as the robust Data Matrix symbology, we are well poised for mainstream adoption of the Visidot solution throughout the supply chain,” said Rami Kopelman, VP Sales, Marketing and Business Development for Visidot. “Visidot's leadership in multiple-asset data capture is solidified – the ability to capture hundreds of standard codes in a single read, with proven near-100% accuracy, is unmatched by any barcode or RFID solution."

The latest version of ImageID’s Visidot™ Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) system is available immediately. For additional information, visit http://www.visidot.com.

Microstaq Mastering Electronic Controls for Fluid-Control Industry

Microstaq’s revolutionary MEMS valve technology holds great promise for the miniaturization of flow control systems across a number of automotive, biomedical, refrigeration, aeronautical and other flow control opportunities. The company’s silicon chip-based flow control technology leverages proven silicon wafer processing techniques to create a single-structure, ‘solid state’ valve capable of controlling a range of fluids in today’s high-pressure, high-flow rate control environments.

Bellingham, WA (PRWEB) May 25, 2021 –- Engineers at Microstaq are betting that the tiny, silicon chip they created to miniaturize and manage the refrigerant in a car’s air-conditioner holds promise for much broader applications in autos of the future. The micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology used in the patented microvalve also shows promise for biotechnology, drug research and development, satellite control and for medical uses.

“This could be the transistor of the fluid-control industry,” says company cofounder and president Steve Booth, referring to the electronics revolution that followed the invention of the transistor.

Microstaq has been successfully testing its micro-sized electro-mechanical valves for fluid control on automotive air conditioners for the past three years at its labs in Bellingham and anticipates production to get underway within two years. Knowing that a typical automobile has 50 valves that need to be opened and closed automatically and regulated closely, and having a number of top technical experts on staff, the company is favorably positioned to develop the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology for use in auto transmissions, braking systems and other automobile fluidic systems.

Microstaq’s microvalve technology could also be used for active cooling of complex, heat generating electronic systems such as modern microprocessors, he said. “Its portability, low cost, accuracy and small fluid volume requirements also make it ideal for analysis and mixing of pharmaceuticals,” he said.

Microstaq’s microvalve uses MEMS technology and due to its silicon material content its moving parts will not wear out. A tiny silicon wafer the size of a button controls the flow of liquids, mists and gases at high pressures, replacing a traditional valve in the air conditioning system that is larger than a spark plug. Its lighter weight and smaller size is expected to increase fuel economy and reduce power consumption in every car, truck and SUV that uses it.

Booth and Microstaq cofounder Jeff Chance believe that Microstaq’s tiny electronic chip has the potential to revolutionize automotive flow control designs and reduce auto emissions.

“Even a half-mile-per-gallon increase in fuel efficiency translates into saving hundreds of thousands of metric tons of auto emissions every year,” said Booth, also president of the company.

Microstaq’s proprietary, pressure-balanced valve design uses advanced silicon wafer processing technologies to fabricate a high-pressure, high flow capable microvalve as compared to membrane or orifice-type microvalve designs. The Microstaq valve is designed to operate in the harsh temperature and pressure environments typical to many automotive flow control systems.

“There is great potential for this microvalve to be on every car in the world,” said Chance, executive vice president and COO. “Down the road, this technology could be used for other systems such as for biotechnology, medical uses, drug research and development, satellite control, gas flow, even bicycle suspensions.”

Microstaq’s valve technology holds such great promise that the company received a $2 million federal grant in 2001 from the National Institute of Standards Technology’s Advanced Technology Program to develop its unique microvalve for a car’s air conditioner.

About Microstaq:
Microstaq (www.microstaq.com) is a privately held company founded in 2000 to bring MEMS technology to the flow control world of automotive systems. Microstaq designs, develops and manufactures high-performance MEMS silicon valve systems capable of operating in normal to extreme flow control environments. Cofounders Steve Booth and Jeff Chance were business development and sales managers in the automotive air-conditioning and engine cooling industry before founding the company to address flow control opportunities in the air-conditioning and refrigeration industries. Formerly known as Alumina Micro, the company moved to Bellingham in 2002.

Microstaq recognizes the benefits of business partnerships to efficiently market its valve technology and seeks partnerships that will successfully market its flow control technology into promising business sectors.

Global RFID Market to Top $2 Billion in 2005: Marketstrat

Global RFID services revenues are expected to touch $350 million in 2005, according to a new report titled, “RFID Products, Applications and Services Worldwide – A Market Strategy Report.”

Fremont, CA (PRWEB) May 24, 2021 -- RFID technology has been growing steadily in the past 3-4 years and is expected to grow rapidly in the 2006-2009 period, before stabilizing and settling on a steady growth path. The year 2004 was marked by excitement related to mandates, entry of new players, re-positioning of some companies as “RFID focused,” new product and service launches, technology advances, standards evolution, partnerships & alliances, mergers & acquisitions, and general market awareness.

Visit http://www.marketstrat.com/rfid_report.htm for details on the RFID report.

The worldwide market for RFID was $1.49 billion in 2004. RFID hardware components (Readers, Tags, and ICs) accounted for 72% of the market, followed by Services (19%) and Software (9%).

- Worldwide Reader revenues were $290 million and Tag revenues $645 million in 2004.
- Revenues for RFID Hardware (Tags, Readers, ICs) are expected to grow at a CAGR of 28%. Growth in the 2006-2009 period will be high, followed by market stabilization.
- Professional Services are expected to reach $850 million by the year 2010. This segment includes service revenues related to business consulting, pilots, full life cycle implementation, hardware engineering, systems integration, and data analysis.
- The Access Control applications segment is expected to account for $191 million in revenues in North America in 2005.
- In Europe, the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) vertical is expected to account for $126 million in RFID-related spending in 2005.
- The Asia-Pacific market for RFID software was $12.9 million in 2003, and is expected to grow to $339 million by the end of 2012. Asia-Pacific is behind North America and Europe in implementing supply chain management and execution systems and related software. As the demand for RFID increases, companies in Asia-Pacific (particularly Japan, Korea, China, India, and Australia) are expected to look toward implementing comprehensive SCM and SCE solutions with embedded RFID functionality.

The primary beneficiaries of the expected explosion in this market are producers of RFID tags, reader systems, related software, shipping labels, label printers, inks, and antennas. Close behind are leading companies providing software and services for the supply chain function and for the warehouse and transportation industries. Opportunities also abound for transportation and logistics providers – both to improve their own efficiency as well as customer efficiencies. Since RFID does not require line of sight, shipping companies can significantly reduce the time, space, and people needed for inventory handling.

Marketstrat’s latest research finds that the rapid growth rates predicted in 2004 (based on Wal-Mart compliance deadline of January 2005) did not come true. As companies get deeper into RFID planning and analyze potential business process changes, and with the introduction of Gen2 products, the nature and scope of projects will change, with a long-term roadmap. This is a good thing for the RFID ecosystem as a whole, and helps avoid future implosion from poorly planned and implemented solutions.

Despite the rapid growth projected, there are restraints/challenges such as data ownership and partner data integration; data security and privacy; implementation costs; integrating data across multiple facilities; managing large volumes of data; need for business process realignment and privacy issues.

Marketstrat’s two-volume report provides:
- Analysis of current and emerging applications, verticals, technology, evolving standards, competitive frameworks, success strategies, market drivers and restraints.
- Estimates/forecasts for the years 2003-2012 by Product Category (separately for Hardware, Software, and Services); by Application; and by Vertical, for each geographic region.

Conklin Systems Releases CS Online Version 2.1.0

Conklin Systems is pleased to announce the release of CS Online 2.1.0 for handhelds, a VT100 & Telnet emulator with extensive data logging and serial debugging features that make it ideal for industrial and engineering applications.

SAN JOSE, CA (PRWEB) May 25, 2021 -- PalmSource Mobile Summit & DevCon, May 24, 2021 - Conklin Systems is pleased to announce the release of CS Online 2.1.0, a VT100 & Telnet emulator with extensive data logging and serial debugging features that make it ideal for industrial and engineering applications.

Conklin Systems acquired the popular Mark/Space products Online, a terminal emulator package, and Fax, a send/receive Fax package for Palm Powered™ mobile devices and smartphones earlier this year. CS Online 2.1.0 is the first release from Conklin Systems. New features include a powerful line-input mode with command history and support for Palm Powered Symbol scanner units with host integration support.

Mark/Space had discontinued Fax in 2003, and more recently Online, to focus on their immensely successful The Missing Sync line of synchronization technology products for the Macintosh. However, there was still a great customer demand for Online and Fax. Rather than leave customers wanting, Mark/Space worked with Conklin Systems to make the two products available again.

Terence Conklin points out, "There are more devices with built-in serial communications now than ever before. Routers, telescopes, and even toys have serial interfaces that people need access too. Online has always been the best tool for not just emulation, but data analysis, and we'll be continuing that tradition."

“We believe both Fax and Online provide users of Palm Powered products with invaluable productivity solutions,” said Larry Berkin, director of developer marketing, PalmSource. “These applications are designed to solve common problems for many users who need to control existing serial-based electronics or just want a robust fax solution while on-the-go.”

Conklin Systems brings more than 25 years experience with terminal emulation and data communications, and is already planning new functionality for these popular products.

Getting the Lead Out - European Regulations Force Electronics Companies to Clean up, Impact Local Manufacturers and Distributors

Consumers will soon have the comfort of knowing that their next laptop, cell phone and microwave may be free of hazardous components. Meanwhile, electronic component manufacturers and distributors are scrambling to re-engineer their supply chains.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) May 24, 2021 -– Consumers will soon have the comfort of knowing that their next laptop, cell phone and microwave may be free of hazardous components. For that they can thank the European Union, for issuing the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive that takes effect in the summer of 2006.

The RoHS directive limits the amount of lead and other toxic substances that electronics manufacturers can use in their products. While the EU directive doesn't have the force of law in the United States, many U.S.-based electronics manufacturers are expected to adopt the EU standards for all of their products, not just those intended for sale in Europe.

Though this may come as good news for consumers, the EU directive has manufacturers and distributors scrambling to re-engineer their supply chains. As one of the top North American electronic component distributors, Allied Electronics must also manage the implications of the directive.

“While Allied does not manufacture or design products, many of the components we sell end up in products sold in the European Union,” says Lee Davidson, president of Allied Electronics. “Very soon, our customers will want to know if the products they spec into their designs are ‘RoHS compliant.’ It will be our job to make sure that they have easy access to this information.”

One potential dilemma that distributors like Allied can expect to come out of the RoHS directive is the various transition plans of their suppliers. For example, some manufacturers have introduced new lead-free designs to existing parts, while others plan to identify compliant products by package labeling.

“The challenges of transition are substantial. Distributors and manufacturers will have to work very closely to ensure the migration to RoHS complaint product is seamless to the customer,” says Davidson. “We have taken a stance that we will be an industry leader in providing the latest information on RoHS for both our customers and our suppliers. We want everyone to have the information they need so our customers can make the right decisions when buying products from us.”

At Allied, multi-functional project teams have been established to sort through the EU directives and to work with its 300+suppliers to come up with solutions, in hopes that this approach will minimize any disruption in the supply chain and to customers.

“Allied is committed to conducting business in an environmentally friendly manner,” says Davidson. “We fully support the objectives of the directives and are working hard to ensure we provide the most up-to-date and comprehensive information about compliance.”

New LED Driver and Sequencer Launched by Dialog Semiconductor to Enable Complete Programmability of 18 LEDs

New universal LED controller provides complete programmability of up to 18 LEDs for the control of lightshows, backlights and signal LEDs in cellular handsets, handheld games, and other portable devices requiring varying light sequences. The new DA9026 IC allows the control of sequences of LED patterns including combined RGB LEDs, with programmable variables such as pattern, repetition rate and intensity of each LED – this is done entirely within the device, removing the need for dedicated processing power.

Kirchheim/Teck, Germany (PRWEB) May 23, 2021 -- Dialog Semiconductor Plc (NASDAQ: DLGS, FWB: DLG) has launched a new universal LED controller which provides complete programmability of up to 18 LEDs for the control of lightshows, backlights and signal LEDs in cellular handsets, handheld games, and other portable devices requiring varying light sequences. The new DA9026 IC allows the control of sequences of LED patterns including combined RGB LEDs, with programmable variables such as pattern, repetition rate and intensity of each LED – this is done entirely within the device, removing the need for dedicated processing power.

The DA9026 universal LED controller especially addresses the growing complexity of LED management in applications such as clamshell handsets, lightshows, backlights (keypad and LCD) and signal LEDs. This is in response to a growing trend for the display or lights to flash in appropriate sequences to ringtones, music or different callers for example. In addition, for phones used in handsfree kits in the automotive environment, it allows manufacturers to control and customize the handset backlight to match color and level of illumination of the car’s dashboard display.

Dialog Semiconductor has addressed these needs with this universal LED driver and sequencer. Unlike other devices it can control up to 18 single color LEDs or six RGB LEDs – or any combination of single and RGB. It can also store and replay (from on-chip memory) 15 light sequences with programmable start and end points, without the need for external components and controlled using a simple 2-wire interface to upload sequence and command data. A comprehensive PC-based development tool allows handset manufacturers to create and program the control code required to generate these sequences.

Other key features include fading and dimming functionality without the need for baseband processor support, brightness correction for true RGB color, and an integrated step-up converter to generate the higher voltages required for high intensity blue, green and white LEDs. The 4-bit current control enables 4k color options per RGB channel, and the DA9026 is optimized for lithium battery supplies.

One of the most significant benefits of having everything contained in one chip and only requiring two-wire control is the ability to improve reliability in clamshell type cellular handsets – instead of requiring multiple control lines across the flip mechanism only two signals are required to control up to 18 LEDs. The DA9026 will typically preload sequence data in the device RAM on power-up, and then the only communication required subsequently will be to activate the required sequences.

Another important feature of the DA9026 is its high current capability, ideal for generating high brightness levels. It can supply 4.8V at up to a maximum of 420mA to provide a regulated power source for large display configurations of up to 18 LEDs, with consistent color generation capability for all the LEDs, even as the battery discharges. When the LED voltage does not need to be greater than 3V, the LED driver can be directly connected to the battery.

The DA9026 universal LED controller is available now and packaged in a 24-lead 4 x 4mm QFN package.

A product demo is available at www.vegaschip.net.

Research and Markets: Argentina, Brazil and Mexico Recorded Impressive Broadband Growth Over Past Year, But Is This Set to Continue?

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c17749) has announced the addition of Latin America Broadband to their offering.

Dublin (PRWEB) May 23, 2021 -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c17749) has announced the addition of Latin America Broadband to their offering.

A relatively stable economic environment has helped get the Latin American broadband marketplace on track. Argentina, Brazil and Mexico recorded impressive broadband growth over the past year, while Chile leads the region in broadband penetration—all good news for broadband equipment and service providers.

Attention: ISPs, Telecom and IT Equipment Manufacturers, Global 2000 Companies, E-Retailers, Video, Music and Game Producers, Marketers and Advertisers.

The Latin America Broadband report explores why the broadband markets of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico are growing, why ADSL has become more widespread and affordable and why bandwidth offers are beginning to increase from a typical connection of 256Kbps to 512Kbps or more. In other words, why broadband markets in Latin America, like the rest of the world, are picking up speed.

While the availability and adoption of broadband in Latin American is still well behind North America, Western Europe and much of the Asia-Pacific region, many factors now suggest that the Latin American Internet sector is on a path of stable and continued growth. Unfortunately, history would suggest that this projection might be a tad rash.

With the economic downturn in Latin America between 2001 and 2003 there was a corresponding downturn in research coverage of the region, particularly from local Latin American research firms. This fact, combined with the economic volatility over the last few years, has made forecasting for the region, even two years out, perilous at best. eMarketer has therefore taken a relatively conservative approach to its forecasts in this report and attempted to provide alternative perspectives wherever possible.

Key questions the Latin America Broadband report addresses:
- Why is the region lagging behind the rest of the world in broadband development?
- What were the major causes of the downturns in 2001 and 2003?
- Does 2004 mark the start of prolonged broadband growth in Latin America?
- What is proving to be the dominant technology platform, DSL or cable Internet?
- Who are the leading broadband access providers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico?
- How do broadband prices compare among the leading countries in the region?
- What does the future hold?
- And many more…

The Latin America Broadband report aggregates the latest data from leading researchers—EIU, Internet World Stats, ITU, Point Topic, PricewaterhouseCoppers, Pyramid Research and many others—with eMarketer's objective, unbiased analysis to give you the information you need to make well-informed business decisions on the Latin American broadband market.

Produce Processor Selects Ronningen-Petter DCF Filter for Innovative Sanitizing System

A produce processing company in Tennessee, with assistance from an ozonation system manufacturer in California, has developed an ozonation system for cleaning and sanitizing water used to wash fresh-cut vegetables and lettuce. It is among the first of its kind to be successfully implemented in a fresh-cut processing plant, and the Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filter is the processor’s filter-of-choice.

(PRWEB) May 20, 2021 -- A produce processing company in Tennessee, with assistance from an ozonation system manufacturer in California, has developed an ozonation system for cleaning and sanitizing water used to wash fresh-cut vegetables and lettuce. It is among the first of its kind to be successfully implemented in a fresh-cut processing plant, and the Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filter is the processor’s filter-of-choice.

Situation
The company processes and packages fresh-cut vegetables and lettuce in bags for the ready-to-eat market. Produce is washed, sanitized and transported through the plant by flume water, which is recycled in a closed loop. Previous cleaning methods used chlorine to sanitize the flume water, however, the water quickly became discolored and contaminated with suspended solids and chlorine residue. As a result, the flume water had to be replaced every two to three hours.

To improve product quality and conserve water resources, the owner of the company and his team of consultants spent nearly five years developing an ozonated wash system that applied the known benefits of injecting ozone into water as a means of sanitizing the flume water.

His goals were:
1) to obtain a longer shelf life
2) fresher taste and lower bacterial counts for his product
3) reduce the plant’s water consumption

In the original system prototype, coarse suspended solids were removed from the flume water by a rotary screen with a two millimeter gap. It became apparent during initial testing, however, that fine suspended solids also needed removal
before ozone was injected — to improve the dissolution of ozone in the flume water.

RPA Process Technologies Solution
After further design and testing, a new water cleaning and ozonation system was installed, which included two Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filters equipped with 50 micron wedge wire screens. The DCF filters were placed immediately after the coarse rotary screen, to capture fine lettuce particles and prepare the water for ozone injection. The DCF filters perform a self-cleaning action by mechanically scraping collected particles from the filtering screen with a patented disc that moves up and down the screen, parallel to the liquid flow. Particles are then purged from the collection chamber at the bottom of the filter. This self-cleaning action is performed without halting production, and provides the highest quality filtering under continuous demand. Because the screen is cleaned without interrupting production, a consistently high flow rate is maintained.

Results
Continuous filter: Flume water is cleaned and recycled in an 800 liters-per-minute loop.

Fine filtering: Improves the dissolution of ozone, resulting in dramatically cleaner water, longer run times, and reduced water consumption.

Labor savings: Flume water replacement is required only once a day, instead of every two to three hours.

Ronningen-Petter DCF’s continuous filtering capability means the flume water is cleaned and recycled in an 800 liters-per minute loop without interruption.

Its fine filtering improves the dissolution of ozone in the flume water, resulting in:
1. dramatically cleaner flume water
2. longer run times between water changes
3. reduced water consumption.

Now, flume water replacement is required only once a day, instead of every two to three hours. The company owner is also very pleased with the system’s impact on product quality. His goals of longer product shelf life, fresher taste, lower bacterial counts, and decreased water consumption have been realized.

DCF also provides the additional benefit of improving the performance of a water chiller in the sanitizing system. Immediately after filtering, the flume water is pumped to a chiller where it is cooled to 5°C by spraying the water onto heat exchanger plates. The high quality filtering provided by the DCF eliminates the risk of suspended solids clogging the sprayer nozzles, and keeps the water chiller at optimum performance.

Conclusion
RPA Process Technologies is pleased that its Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filters were chosen as a major component in the innovative sanitizing system developed by the produce processing company. DCF's continuous and high quality filtration make it the perfect solution for produce washing applications, giving the company improved quality and, ultimately, making their company more competitive.

Application Details
Filter model: (2) Ronningen-Petter DCF-1600s
Type of liquid: Wash Water
Pressure: 50 psi (3.4 bar)
Temperature: Chilled
Flow Rate: 211 gpm (47.9 m3/h)
Contaminants removed: Fine vegetable particles and debris

Revolutionary New Chrome Paint Finish

APPLICHROME is a process for spraying a finish that looks and feels just like electroplated chrome. The finish can be applied onto virtually any plastic or metal substrate. ACT is currently developing the process further to coat wood, ceramic and glass substrates.

(PRWEB) May 19, 2021 -- Since expanding into new premises in 2004, Applied Coating Technologies has continued to develop its finishing capabilities to meet customer expectations for a one-stop finishing source. Already supplying many industries with a wide range of high-quality decorative finishes to plastic mouldings, requests were often received from existing customers for a ‘chrome’ paint finish.

A ‘chrome’ finish is usually applied using conventional electroplating techniques and offers a bright, mirror finish. It is specified on a variety of everyday products, such as shower handsets and car door handles. However, conventional electroplated chrome can only be applied onto a limited range of plastic substrates, such as ABS. There are also constraints in terms of the size and geometry of parts that can be processed.

APPLICHROME is a process for spraying a finish that looks and feels just like electroplated chrome. It is a process that has been developed in the USA and is being introduced in the UK by Applied Coating Technologies. The finish can be applied onto virtually any plastic or metal substrate. ACT is currently developing the process further to coat wood, ceramic and glass substrates.

The APPLICHROME process involves the following key steps:
1. Application of an adhesion promoting primer. Various primers have been developed and now even adhesion to difficult substrates such as polypropylene can be achieved.

2. Application of bright metallic chrome finish. Since the coating is applied by spraying, selective areas can be coated.

3.Application of 2-pack polyurethane clear lacquer. The lacquers provide chemical and wear resistance. An added benefit is that the lacquer reduces finger marking, which can be a problem on conventionally plated parts.

The APPLICHROME process is carried out at low temperatures, typically below 60°C, so even thin wall plastic substrates can be coated.

The APPLICHROME process is not meant to be a direct replacement for conventional chrome electroplating and would generally be more expensive when compared to electroplated chrome. However, it fills the niche requirement for chrome, where electroplating is not an option.

The process is current being evaluated on a number of projects in various industries, these include:

Interior and exterior automotive components, domestic appliances, and bar top displays.

The development of the APPLICHROME process at ACT was in response to customer requirements for a one-stop shop finishing service. The core business of ACT is EMI shielding coatings and decorative finishing of plastic mouldings.

(PRWEB) May 19, 2021 -- The new Ask Filter Man forum is a community that provides industrial filtration answers within a 24-hour time period, and it is completely free.

Selecting the Right Filter for Your Process:
Factors to Consider

When selecting a filter for a particular application, the following criteria should be considered:
• How large is the process volume? What is the flow rate?
• Is it continuous or batch process?
• What are the material characteristics of the solids being removed? How large are the particles? Is the material hazardous? Can the material being removed be recycled back into the process?
• What are the waste disposal costs? How often do bags or cartridges need to be replaced? Can the waste volume be reduced or eliminated by switching to a different filtration method?
• What are the labor and downtime costs for filter or cartridge replacement? Can downtime be replaced or eliminated by switching to a different filtration method?

Here is your chance to tap in to a forum of RPA filtration specialist that have decades of experience. They understand the impact your filtration system can have on your process, and would like to help guide you in the selection of the right system for your application and process requirements.

Here is a sample of a few questions:
1. We have Sweet Gas Pipeline that contain a noticeable amount of black powder (Iron Oxides and Iron Sulfides) what will be the best filtration system for it Please note that the line size is 56" dia.

2. I have an aqueous and a solvent based systems with 5-150 micron pigment particles. What filtration system do you recommend for a batch(2000 gal)or 33 gal/min continuous operation.

3. I am looking for an alternative to our current method of filtration. We are filtering high viscosity materials (50,000 cps) at 15 microns. We are using wire mesh cloth and our of our major problems is blinding of the mesh. Our runs are short (less that 100 gallons), so I am looking for small units with minimal dead volume.

RPA Process Technologies owns four brands that have been in the filtration business for over one-hundred years. They are Ronningen-Petter, Filtres Philippe, Filtres Vernay, and Malaxeurs Guittard.

Here is your chance to let them share their knowledge gained by experience with you!

Pilkington’s New Anti-Reflective Glass Offers More Design, Application Freedom

Ever since clear glass was first used in buildings and shops, you have had to look at it as well as through it. Now, you don’t have to. Pilkington North America has developed OptiView™ Anti-Reflective Glass. It is produced in its Ottawa, Ill., plant.

Toledo, OH (PRWEB) May 18, 2021 -- Ever since clear glass was first used in buildings, shops, etc., you have had to look at it as well as through it. Now, you don’t have to. Pilkington North America has developed OptiView™ Anti-Reflective Glass – a glass that looks like no glass at all.

While clear glass reflects 8 percent of visible light, Pilkington OptiView Glass reflects less than 2 percent. This allows viewers to clearly see object(s) behind the glass, without looking at their own reflection.

Size Flexibility Means More Possibilities
"While anti-reflective glass is not new, Pilkington's online manufacturing process removes most size limitations, and opens the door to a wider array of application possibilities," explained Stephen Weidner, vice president of sales and marketing for Pilkington Building Products North America.

Until now, anti-reflective glass was made by making clear glass, then dipping sheets of the clear glass, into vats that contained a chemical composition that produced the anti-reflective properties. The size of the anti-reflective glass was limited by the size of the vats.

However, because the anti-reflective properties of Pilkington OptiView Glass are added during Pilkington's pyrolytic (also known as "online") manufacturing process of float glass, there is greater size flexibility.

"Typical anti-reflective glass applications include museum and retail display cases," Weidner said. "With Pilkington's proprietary process, the potential for anti-reflective glass is expanded to include retail store fronts, showrooms, and a host of applications where anti-reflective glass was never an option."

What is OptiView Glass?
Pilkington OptiView Glass is made by combining two proprietary pyrolytic surfaces into a single, clear PVB-laminated glass plate. Standard Pilkington OptiView Glass thickness includes ¼” (6mm) and ½” (12mm). Other thicknesses and laminated glass combinations are available.

The result is a fabricated glass that combines the strength, security and sound reduction of laminated glass with the low reflectivity of a high-end specialty glass product.

Other features of Pilkington OptiView Glass include:
* Transmits more than 90 percent visible light.
* Blocks more than 99 percent of UV transmittance.
* Durable pyrolytic surface, bendable and temperable.

Pilkington OptiView Glass is available throughout North America and the world through Pilkington Building Products North America from select glass fabricators.

Early Applications
Already, Pilkington sales personnel and fabricator partners have Pilkington OptiView Glass in the bidding stage of more than a half-dozen U.S. projects.

While there are a number of potential Pilkington OptiView Glass projects in the works, one project already underway is in London. Falcon Wharf, along the River Thames, is a 17-floor, 124-apartment and restaurant complex using Pilkington OptiView Glass in an exterior glass wall application. Glazing is scheduled to be completed during summer 2005.

Pilkington, with its North America headquarters in Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A., is a leading international producer of float glass for residential, architectural, furniture, mirror and specialty applications. Pilkington also supplies aftermarket and original equipment glass to car manufacturers and auto repair shops around the world.

Digital Control Systems Launches the New Model 90 PID Controller

The newest PID controller from Digital Control Systems. An ideal control for OEM Equipment Manufacturers servicing the global marketplace. The Model works from 80 - 280 VAC without modification, and can accept multiple inputs, including RTD probes, and thermocouples.

(PRWEB) May 18, 2021 -- Ideal for Equipment Manufacturers the Digital Control Systems, Inc. Model 90 PID Controller is the latest evolution in the Multistat series of temperature controls. Designed for the global equipment market, the Model 90 PID Controller can operate from direct or alternating current power mains from 80 to 280 volts, so it can be used anywhere in the world without modification or adjustment. “We developed the Model 90 in response to our customers who sell to the international market and who had to juggle the logistics involved with the various voltage requirements around the world -- in addition to flexible load and voltage requirements, the Model 90 is robust and reliable,” said Mike Mueller, President and founder of Digital Control Systems, Inc.

This single-channel PID controller will accurately control single electrical loads of up to 15 Amps. All of the Model 90 control electronics and the user interface are built on a compact (13.5 x 6 cm) circuit board for easy mounting and integration into medical, laboratory, and industrial equipment. Large bright LED digits make the display easy to read from across the room.

Recognizing the considerable safety benefits to be gained from reducing high voltage wiring, Digital Control Systems, Inc, designed the Model 90 to feature a second smaller power module that can be located near the output. This eliminates the need to run high current wiring to the front control panel. As an additional benefit, this power module is connected to the main circuit board with a low voltage cable. A second power module can also be added to control an auxiliary load.

The Model 90 offers more options than similar controls in the Multistat™ family of temperature controls. The extensive options available for the Model 90 make it easy for equipment manufacturers to differentiate similar products. Options such as an audible alarm, two pole alarm relay, RS-232, or a timer can be added individually based on application requirements. The optional RS-232 interface feature enables remote operation and data logging. “Rather than bundle all of the available features, we prefer to offer our customers options on a one by one basis, this way they aren’t paying for features they aren’t going to use”, adds Mike Mueller.

The Model 90 temperature controller works with a variety of inputs. For direct temperature control the Model 90 can be used with economical IC sensors (for operation below 100 °C), RTDs, or type ‘J’ and ‘K’ thermocouples. A direct voltage (5 volts Max) input configuration is also available for control of parameters measured by external sensors such as humidity or CO2.

Digital Control Systems Inc. is based in Portland, Oregon and has been designing and manufacturing a wide array of temperature controllers, motor speed controls, CO2 Sensors and Custom Products since 1984. The DCS family of products includes, the AirSense CO2 Monitor, Laboratory CO2 Sensor solutions, the Servomax DC Motor Speed Control, and the Multistat line of Temperature Control products. Technical information and brochures for the Model 90 and all of the Digital Control Systems products can be accessed online at www.dcs-inc.net.

Ltd., Beijing, China, completed deployment of NovAtel GPS-based systems for the Tianjin port Container Terminals (TCT), as per the terms of a contract awarded to BDStar in July 2004.

Calgary, Alberta (PRWEB) May 17, 2021 -- NovAtel Inc. (NASDAQ: NGPS), a precise positioning technology company, announced today that its dealer, Beijing BDStar Navigation Co. Ltd., Beijing, China, completed deployment of NovAtel GPS-based systems for the Tianjin port Container Terminals (TCT), as per the terms of a contract awarded to BDStar in July 2004. NovAtel executives were on hand to present the Company’s leading edge technology at the commissioning ceremony for TCT held last month. BDStar is also in initial deployment for a number of other port authorities in China, including ShenZhen and Hong Kong.

“This new contract, along with an additional contract to install receivers on port-specific heavy machinery, such as Rubber Tire Gantries (RTG’s) manufactured in China, builds on the number of customers worldwide using NovAtel for this demanding application. We believe our success rates in these ports will continue to expand our opportunities with other Port Authorities in China,” said Graham Purves, NovAtel’s VP Sales.

“Port LBS (Location Based Service) business is a strategic focus for BDStar. We have integrated BDStar’s customized software services with NovAtel’s accurate and reliable GPS technology to create a strong product offering for this market. Major Automotive Company Generates Over $60,000 of Annual Savings

In an effort to reduce operating costs, a major automotive company generated over $60,000 of annual savings, and a Return on Investment (ROI) in less than three months on their filter purchase. The idea was to discard the OEM-equipped replaceable media filters with the NEW Ronningen-Petter® self-cleaning magnetically coupled filter.

(PRWEB) May 16, 2022 -- The process in question was a group of three machining centers that machine aluminum transmission parts. The fluid to be filtered--machine tool coolant--is designed to lubricate, cool, and flush contaminants away from the part and tool. The fluid is collected under the machining operation where it is routed through a set of weirs to separate out the large particulate. A pump then sends the fluid to a housing containing three large 75-micron cartridge filters.

The filters needed to be replaced three times per week, generating a tremendous amount of annual costs to the automotive company. An in-house filtration audit highlighted the recurring high costs of the cartridges cost of disposal labor for change out machining down time. Other costs and inconveniences include tool life concerns, the inability to separate harmful chips from the fluid, all resulting in borderline product quality and safety concerns.

In their search for a solution for the costly and recurring problem, the customer selected a Ronningen-Petter Magnetically Coupled Filter (MCF), which features a permanent self-cleaning slotted filter media, which effectively removes the harmful aluminum chips and fines from the coolant. The automotive company chose the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter for its spring-loaded cleaning disc design that continuously regenerates the open area of the filter media.

The engineers responsible for the machining centers requested tighter filtration, 50 micron, upon installation as a potential opportunity to increase tool life. The new Ronningen-Petter MCF filter was installed seamlessly into the existing space of the removed cartridge filter.

The new Ronningen-Petter MCF permanent self-cleaning filtration equipment positively affected the machining centers with its ability to more efficiently manage the full coolant flow and chip loading. The more efficient cleaning cycle and purge frequency were adjusted to meet the customer's needs. Extending the cycle times greatly increased the life of the moving parts, and allowed for a greater concentration of chips to be discharged. The purge, or concentrated chip stream, was rerouted three weeks into the installation back to a large paper band filter for recycling purposes.

The quality of the filtrate under the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter was evaluated every shift for the first few weeks to ensure the quality of the machined parts. Full evaluation of the economic impact of the MCF installation was completed following three months of continuous operation. The final review determined that the Ronningen-Petter MCF paid for itself within that three-month evaluation period.

How the MCF Works
Machining fluids enter the filter at the top inlet connection and flow into the 316L stainless-steel filter element. As the liquid passes from the inside to the outside of the filter element, unwanted particles are retained on the inside of the slotted screen. Filtered coolant passes thru the outlet connection to the downstream requirement.

With the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter, the collected debris is automatically wiped from the filter media by a cleaning disc that deposits the solids in the lower chamber of the housing, out of the flow path. An adjustable timer sets the cleaning disc stroke frequency.

Periodically, the collected debris gathered by the cleaning disc is purged from the lower chamber in less than a second, using system pressure. Like the stroke frequency, an adjustable timer presets the purge timer.

With shrinking budgets, increased production and reduction of labor forces, mechanically cleaned filtration such as the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter offers a tremendous advantage over replaceable media.

Business Investment Opportunities: New Agricultural Mulch Poised to Revolutionize Commercial Agriculture

As far as business investment opportunities go these days, EcoCover® may be one of the most sustainable. The company’s product, an agricultural mulch, eliminates the need for polyethylene covers and herbicides. The company is looking for investors to begin global expansion.

Auckland, NZ - (PRWEB) May 6, 2022 -- EcoCover, a New Zealand manufacturing firm, has developed an agricultural mulch cover, a world first, that offers a unique manufacturing business opportunity. “Business investment opportunities come and go but the introduction of our product may prove to be one of this century’s most promising because it could very well revolutionize commercial farming, marginal forestry plantings and landscaping methods. It’s already starting to do that in New Zealand,” says Murray Cruickshank, the company’s CEO and founder.

An alternative to plastic agricultural mulch covers, EcoCover solves a myriad of problems faced by commercial growers and landscapers and it is environmentally friendly. “EcoCover is not only compostable and biodegradable, it conserves water, reduces plant mortality, controls weeds, promotes plant growth, moderates soil temperature, reduces soil erosion, eliminates or reduces herbicide use and can also be used to carry beneficial soil additives,” Cruickshank says. “This makes EcoCover the only environmentally friendly, sustainable agricultural mulch mat in the world. Its attributes make it the ultimate solution for a variety of problems.”

EcoCover is produced as a patented composite laminate from paper that would otherwise be introduced into the waste stream. “To our way of thinking, the fact that EcoCover is manufactured using landfill waste makes it the perfect environmentally sustainable product. Unlike traditional agricultural mulch and plastic agricultural mulch covers, it doesn’t have a single negative attribute,” he says.

Cruickshank points out that while the developed world is currently preoccupied with concerns about energy supplies, sooner or later it’s going to have to deal with what the underdeveloped world is already coming to grips with and that’s a growing shortage of fresh water. “EcoCover allows growers to make more efficient use of limited water resources, reducing usage by as much as 80%. In addition, it also reduces and in most instances eliminates the need to use herbicides which prevents the contamination of local groundwater supplies.”

Currently, the only truly effective agricultural mulch covers available to commercial growers are made of plastic and, as derivative petroleum products; they have limited application and present several unique handling problems. “Aside from the fact that polyethylene mulch mats share few of EcoCover’s positive attributes, landscapers increasingly dislike introducing further plastic on the landscape and farmers are fed up with the high cost and hassle of removing plastic from their fields. Many are also facing two additional problems - increasing landfill charges and outright refusals to landfill the material at all, he says.

EcoCover solves both of these problems. Since the product is 100% biodegradable, it doesn’t have to be removed let alone disposed of. Its use also reduces paper and plastic waste which accounts for more than 40% of most landfills.

EcoCover’s agricultural mulch covers are backed by two years of independent University research which can be viewed on the company's website. An additional four years were devoted to the perfection of the current production facility which serves as a model for expanded global operations.

EcoCover has received the coveted endorsement of AgriQuality, New Zealand’s leading organic certifier, as well as the right to display the prestigious label “Environmental Choice New Zealand”. AgriQuality, New Zealand's leading organic certifier has approved EcoCover in respect of granting organic certification. AgriQuality is a fully accredited member of IFOAM, The International Federation of Agricultural Movements.

Founded in Switzerland in 1972, IFOAM has more than 750 member organizations and institutions accredited to it, from more than 100 countries. The Environmental Choice Label License is all important because it opens doors. “Governments or companies subscribing to a ‘Buy Green’ or ‘Greening of Purchasing’ policy use such accreditation to determine their preferred suppliers.

EcoCover is environmentally beneficial (not neutral) and the New Zealand Government through the Ministry for the Environment has 19 core Government agencies including the country's largest roading landscape enterprise signed up to this standard. A company with the approved accreditation such as the Environmental Choice Label will be a preferred supplier to all such agencies. EcoCover is only the 13th company in New Zealand to meet the demanding audit requirements for this License. The standard is measured against the three pillars of sustainability, namely environmental, economic and social. EcoCover excels in each category.

EcoCover has been patented in 21 countries and presents itself as an attractive business investment opportunity for companies in commodity (price taker) markets. “An investment in an EcoCover production plant affords them the means to reinvent themselves and to remain competitive. EcoCover also allows manufacturers in traditional agricultural supply markets facing increasing global competition brought about by the removal or lowering of trade barriers, the means to get a jump on the competition,” Cruickshank says.

As a manufacturing business for sale, Cruickshank believes EcoCover offers a uniquely sustainable business plan not only because the demand for the product is assured, but that the production process is not labor intensive nor is it challenging to operate. A plant can be profitably run with a staff of 4-6 individuals who in New Zealand have been resourced from a long term, unskilled unemployment pool. Low labor costs and other key components of the manufacturing process afford early profitability.

EcoCover's use is not defined by geography, climate or industry. The product has been tested in a variety of climates and has proven to be a valuable means to insulate soil and plant roots in colder climates. In arid climates it provides growers the means to reduce water consumption and to sustain soil moisture.

What is more, as a manufacturing business opportunity, EcoCover offers an unlimited potential for diversification. “To cite just a few examples, in the construction industry EcoCover could be used as an insulator. It can be used for livestock bedding, as landfill daily cover, padded floor coverings, used in a wide variety of packaging materials as well as an unlimited number of molded products,” Cruickshank says.

With satellite offices in Auckland, Brisbane, California, Tennessee, London and Dubai, the company has positioned itself to start duplicating production facilities through the sale of this unique sustainable environmental business opportunity around the world. “We have every reason to believe that once a serious investor compares EcoCover’s Investment Profile and Information Memorandum and sample manufacturing business plan to the business plans of other manufacturing companies for sale, it will be one of those business investment opportunities that immediately rises to the top of the list.

“As an investor, if you are looking at starting your own manufacturing business, one with a sustainable business plan, EcoCover may be the answer you’ve been looking for,” Cruickshank says.

Investors looking for business investment opportunities are encouraged to add EcoCover's manufacturing investment opportunity to their list. To obtain further information as well as a sample of the product itself, interested parties are encouraged to contact one of the company’s regional representatives. Their contact information is provided at EcoCover.com.

Software Is Not the Answer

Manufacturers seeking performance improvement are learning that software alone does not deliver strategic advantage

Framingham, MA (PRWEB) May 12, 2022 -- Manufacturers pursuing performance improvement through the implementation of enterprise systems and supply chain systems are learning an important lesson: New information systems and software alone are almost never the solution. To the contrary, many companies have tried to solve performance deficiencies by using information technology and have been greatly disappointed in the results.

“These companies rarely, if ever, get the “quick fix” they were hoping for,” according to Lean Manufacturing expert Mike Donovan of R. Michael Donovan & Co. “More often than not, they find themselves saddled with expensive new information technology that not only does not achieve the results intended but actually creates new problems. This can lower company performance below levels that existed before new information system applications were introduced into the business.”

This is not to imply that information systems are not important tools for performance improvement. “The point is,” Donovan adds, “systems are tools and by themselves they don’t change the way a company performs. Properly implemented, however, in conjunction with process changes designed to take advantage of what these systems have to offer, new systems can be the key to a quantum leap in performance.”

Process changes make the difference, not the software. Modern-day systems are built around industry best practices and are designed to support state-of-the-art business processes and techniques. A company that wants to move to industry-leading practices really needs the proper information systems to support those new practices – after all is said and done, it is information that drives these leading-edge businesses.

Expecting the system to deliver the results is a serious mistake. Without recognizing this truth, a company might invest in a new system only to find they are paying the price, not only in their systems investment, but also in cumbersome data collection and entry and awkward procedures, but without gaining the benefits. When the system and its requirements are embedded in new processes, they work together for improved results.

“Bottom line,” says Donovan, “performance improvement comes down to process improvement. Process improvement can be enabled by the functionality built into information systems. A systems upgrade is quite often (but not always) a part of a major performance improvement project. But you have to realize that the system is an enabler, not the answer.”

Visidot Installs Unique Ford F150 Chassis Identification AIDC System

ImageID Ltd., a leader in Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technology has successfully installed a Visidot AIDC System at the Ford F150 plant in Dearborn to improve production speed and increase plant efficiency. The installation was implemented in conjunction with Visidot partner Wireless & Barcode in Michigan.

Tel Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) May 11, 2022 -- ImageID Ltd., a leader in Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technology has successfully installed a Visidot AIDC System at the Ford F150 plant in Dearborn to improve production speed and increase plant efficiency. The installation was implemented in conjunction with Visidot partner Wireless & Barcode in Michigan.

Ford considered other options before selecting Visidot. The particular conditions at the plant meant that the right system would need to meet several criteria. First, due to the size of and position of the chassis, the system had to be able to capture a label from a distance of more than 20 feet and encompass a large field of view of over 3 feet wide. Secondly, the company needed to find a solution that would not incur up-charges from parts suppliers. For this reason, RFID would have been cost-prohibitive whereas the price of adding the 2D Data Matrix symbol to the existing paper label is practically zero.

Rami Kopelman, VP Sales & Marketing for ImageID, commented, “The Visidot installation at Ford has demonstrated the product’s unique advantages over other automatic identification technologies, such as RFID and linear barcode. We are very glad to work with Ford and I am pleased that the plant is already experiencing greatly improved accuracy."

About ImageID Ltd.
ImageID, the provider of the Visidot™ solution (http://www.visidot.com), develops and markets advanced multiple-asset Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) solutions. Based on imaging technology and sophisticated algorithms, the Visidot solution is capable of identifying and decoding hundreds of unique standard barcodes simultaneously in a single read, with unprecedented speed and accuracy. The Visidot solution is being used in retail supply chains, automotive manufacturing and reusable assets pool management operations to provide per-asset visibility and to increase operational efficiencies. ImageID is a multinational company with R&D; facilities in Israel and direct sales and partner networks in the US and Europe.

Atlanta Seminars to Discuss Future Surge in China's Energy Consumption

New Jersey consulting firm Business Restoration Partners will conduct two one-day seminars in Atlanta during the first week of June that will address the alarming rise in Chinese energy consumption. (Go to www.business-restoration-partners.com for seminar info) International economist James A. McCune will cover the segment on China's economic outlook, as well as the segment on long-term forces impacting the U.S. economy.

Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) May 10, 2022 -- New Jersey consulting firm Business Restoration Partners will conduct two one-day seminars in Atlanta during the first week of June that will address the alarming rise in Chinese energy consumption. (go to www.business-restoration-partners.com for seminar info) International economist James A. McCune will cover the segment on China's economic outlook, as well as the segment on long-term forces impacting the U.S. economy.

Atlanta seminar attendees will hear Mr. McCune make the case that China is poised to import 10 million barrels of oil per day by 2010 – an amount roughly triple what they imported in 2004. This result, or anything near it, will affect all of China’s competitors, including anyone who drives a car!

The Atlanta seminars will focus on changing patterns of consumption and development that have already begun to increase the energy intensity of China’s economic growth. This trend, says McCune, will only intensify going forward: “For the ten years between 1990 and 2000,” McCune states, “China’s real GDP grew at an average rate of 10% per year, while energy consumption grew 3% per year. This means energy usage per unit of real output fell about 6% per year...but this is changing fast.”

“This trend abruptly turned around in 2002,” McCune says, “with energy consumption growing 2 percentage points faster than real GDP.” With China’s jump in oil imports during 2004 already having a significant tightening effect on the oil market, and on oil prices, “this is just the beginning,” says McCune, “with new auto plants being built rapidly, and with 50 million or so Chinese that make over $7,000 per year, China is on the verge of explosive growth in both auto production and auto purchases, and it takes a great deal of energy both to make them and to drive them.”

But according to economist McCune, it's not just autos driving China's energy consumption.

Ten million barrels of oil imported every day would be bad enough, but McCune is concerned that his forecast has a real chance of being too low: “China's place in its development cycle suggests that future growth will be higher up the value added chain, and therefore more capital and energy intensive than in the past. Adding this to the auto component, energy growth per unit of real economic growth could actually be higher than the 1.2% per year I have built in...but if it is, something will probably come unglued along the way.” (Go to www.business-restoration-partners.com for info on attending one of the Atlanta seminars.)

In Atlanta Mr. McCune hopes to get some lively input from seminar participants. “The study isn't finished yet,” he states. “I plan to tweak the China forecast based on input from the Atlanta seminars and have the finished report available to the general public by the end of June.”

Persons interested in attending one of the Atlanta seminars on China can go to www.business-restoration-partners.com for more information on the topics covered in the seminars and how to register, or they can call Mr. McCune at the number listed below.

Agent QC Announces New Wireless Risk Management Solution for Supply Chain Monitoring

This patented solution consists of a custom designed bi-directional wireless Sensor Module developed as a unique active RFID tag. This solution differs from traditional RFID technology as it can mimic real product shapes and sizes or be attached directly to product assemblies.

Prince Edward Island, Canada (PRWEB) May 10, 2022 -- Agent QC, a subsidiary of Sensor Wireless Inc., is launching their new Production Line and Supply Chain Risk Management Solution. The solution is available for use in various industries such as electronics handling, automotive, consumer products, packaged food, beverage handling and perishable goods and is available immediately for commercial use.

Agent QC was developed to assist plant engineers and quality conscious companies with the ability to instantly identify, measure, control and validate occurrences in the production of perishable and non-perishable goods which are resulting in lost revenues.

This patented solution consists of a custom designed bi-directional wireless Sensor Module developed as a unique active RFID tag. This solution differs from traditional RFID technology as it can mimic real product shapes and sizes or be attached directly to product assemblies. The Sensor is capable of communication with Position on Demand (PODs) readers installed at transfer points to monitor the position of the sensor both in-line and/or as part of a package while also transmitting condition measurements instantly to remote laptop running Instant Quality Analysis (IQA) Live software. This allows immediate alerts to be issued as to exactly where, what and how defects have occurred or to verify efficient equipment operation and human action.

An important aspect of the solution, PODs can be placed throughout the materials handling system and in other known transfer points in plant or throughout the supply chain. These PODs act as markers (RFID readers) that send real-time unique identifier ID’s to the sensor module. PODs are removable and can be either battery operated or wired to a permanent power source. When the sensor module passes the POD an event marker is placed in the software. When using IQA Live desktop software users are alerted to above limit thresholds between POD locations. Users can troubleshoot specific problem areas and historical information can be saved for verification and audit purposes. With this new software you also have the ability to convert to PDF or Excel, so your data can be saved for future use.

This cost effective Supply Chain Risk Management Solution is easily integrated into Six Sigma processes for identifying defects in production systems, as well TQM and other quality methodologies. The Solution is targeted specifically at brand loyalty/brand maintenance, liability and accountability of product quality, uptime improvements, elimination of waste, noise reduction and food safety.

Agent QC specializes in providing complete in-plant and supply chain monitoring solutions. Soon to be released, new developments incorporate satellite based technology to offer value in monitoring in transit activity utilizing the benefits of our bi-directional wireless sensor technology. Commercial availability is expected in July 2005.

Business Investment Opportunities: New Agricultural Mulch Poised to Revolutionize Commercial Agriculture

EcoCover®, having completed independent testing, has gone into full scale production of an environmentally friendly agricultural mulch that eliminates commercial agriculture’s dependence on polyethylene covers and herbicides for weed control. One of the more interesting business investment opportunities available today, EcoCover is looking for investors interested in setting up and operating additional production facilities across the globe.

Investors looking for business investment opportunities are encouraged to add EcoCover's manufacturing business opportunity to their list. To obtain further information as well as a sample of the product itself, interested parties are encouraged to contact one of the company’s regional representatives. Their contact information is provided at EcoCover.com.

Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. Goes Rampless

Innovative rampless Concrete Washout Systems™ container to compliment and add versatility for jobsites.

Elk Grove, CA (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) May 2, 2022 -- Concrete Washout Systems, Inc., (CWS) announced today that it has developed a new rampless version of its pioneering and patent pending product, Concrete Washout Systems™ container.

The new rampless container is essentially a stripped version of the flagship Concrete Washout Systems™ container, with the ramps removed. The new container will have more holding capacity at six (6) cubic yards and have the ability to hold more washwater on the jobsite, up to 400 gallons more. The new rampless version can be configured with hook points for craning the box onto commercial high-rises to add even more options for clients.

"The rampless box was put into production to continue providing our customers with the best available technology and as a direct result of feedback obtained from the customers and end users on the jobsites," stated Mark Jenkins, President of Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. "The rampless box is not a replacement for our flagship ramped box, but a complimentary tool when more than one box is needed on a jobsite or when there are no concrete pumps being used. The added versatility will allow our customers the opportunity to use our patent pending systems on various applications where before, they had very little if any compliant options available," added Mr. Jenkins.

The patent pending CWS is a portable, self-contained and watertight bin that controls, captures and contains concrete washout material and wastewater. It allows trade personnel to easily washout concrete trucks, pumps and equipment on site and facilitates easy off site recycling of the same concrete materials and wastewater, while protecting the storm drain system from potential illegal discharges. The off site recycling component creates an even more environmentally sound application. This system replaces other outdated washout BMP's, which are costly, unsightly and damaging to the environment since their containment value diminishes, due to inherently faulty material, over use and lack of maintenance.

About Concrete Washout Systems, Inc.
Concrete Washout Systems is a risk management specialist and industry pioneer in concrete washout and wastewater removal, treatment and recycling. The patent-pending Concrete Washout Systems provides a cost effective, environmentally friendly and compliance alternative for homebuilders, contractors, ready mix and pump operators and environmental engineering firms. Italy: Capitalizing on Commercial Opportunity and a Rich Cultural Heritage

International Trade Week in New Jersey will be dedicated to explore Business Opportunities between US and Italy

(PRWEB) May 2, 2022 -- To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of World Trade Week in the United States, as proclaimed by the President and the U.S. Department of Commerce, New Jersey will dedicate its 34th annual edition to Italy, with a day-long conference to be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2021 at The Birchwood Manor in Whippany, (NJ). The theme is Italy: Capitalizing on Commercial Opportunity and a Rich Cultural Heritage, stressing the important component of our ethnic group in the state. It will address the strategic challenges of doing business with Italy as well as import/export and investment opportunities.

The U.S. – Italy bilateral relationship is strong and growing, with the two countries cooperating closely on major economic issues. Italy is one of the United States’ and New Jersey’s most important trading partners. In 2003, the U.S. was the fourth largest foreign supplier in the Italian market, and the largest supplier outside the European Union. In 2003, the State’s exports to Italy were valued at approximately $470 Million, thus placing Italy, from an economic standpoint, well within the top ten countries conducting business with New Jersey. Both New Jersey and Italy enjoy a strong and diversified manufacturing sector and are equally strong agricultural producers.

New Jersey is a unique location for international trade, with a diverse population and proximity to Newark Liberty International Airport, major railroad and trucking routes, and the important commercial Port of Elizabeth. Each year, the New Jersey World Trade Council Conference attracts hundreds of investors, government officials, businessmen and educators from New Jersey and the host country. This edition is designed to stimulate business between American and Italian operators. The annual gathering has captured national attention and is regarded as a key event during World Trade Week.

Open to the public, the conference provides the whole Metropolitan area and Italian businesses and corporations a forum to learn about the growing commercial opportunities between New Jersey and Italy. The conference will feature panel discussions, trade exhibits and speakers that highlight important import/export, foreign direct investment and portfolio investment opportunities. Speakers from the New Jersey, Federal and Italian governments will describe mechanisms for establishing corporate trading relations, the procurement of financing, regulations and the business environment. QSI Corporation Releases New Version of Qlarity Foundry™ and Qlarity™ for Graphic Operator Interface Terminals

QSI Corporation, manufacturer of rugged operator interface terminals, has released the latest version of Qlarity Foundry™ and Qlarity™ Firmware for its family of award-winning human-machine interface (HMI) terminals — the QTERM-G70, QTERM-G75, QTERM-G55 and QTERM-Z60.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (PRWEB) May 2, 2022 -- QSI Corporation, manufacturer of rugged operator interface terminals, has released the latest version of Qlarity Foundry™ and Qlarity™ Firmware for its family of award-winning graphic operator interface terminals — the QTERM-G70, QTERM-G75, QTERM-G55 and QTERM-Z60.

“The most significant enhancement in version 2.31 is the AutoHelp function,” said Jeremy Richards, Senior Software Engineer, “AutoHelp aids programmers by dynamically displaying textual help and making suggestions.”

Other significant new features include Object Inheritance, AutoDoc, Workspace Resizing, Multi-Object Edit, Error Stepping and Parenthesis Matching, Win32 Command Line Compiler, Workspace Locking, new APIs and new objects.

- Object Inheritance – When creating new objects that are based on other objects, there is no need to copy and maintain two code bases. Simply add the unique code to the new object and all of the base code remains in the source object. Changes in the code of the source object are inherited by the other objects.

- AutoHelp – Displays function parameters and their descriptions, suggests possible completions for object properties and methods and suggests valid values when entering function parameters on the right hand side of an assignment statement or comparison expression.

- AutoDoc – A major overhaul of the AutoDoc system provides improved documentation, links to related items, tables describing parameters and enumerated items, improved formatting and sample code snippets. In addition, AutoDoc now supports keyword searching and displays Qlarity code samples and installed tutorials.

- Workspace Resizing – Applications that were created for 320x240 screens can be resized for 640x480 screens, or vici versa. Some objects (e.g. bitmaps) cannot be automatically resized.

- Mutli-Object Edit – When selecting multiple objects in your workspace, the properties window now shows the properties common among the selected objects. The values in these properties (e.g. background color) can be changed and all selected objects will inherit the change.

- Error Stepping and Parenthesis Matching – Errors in your programming code can be sequentially stepped through by pressing a hot key rather than double-clicking each error. In code view, parentheses are now underlined to aid in matching.

- Win32 Command Line Compiler – Compile BFF files without launching Qlarity Foundry and exporting the workspace.

- Workspace Locking – Prohibits workspaces from being overwritten if the same workspace is open in multiple instances of Qlarity Foundry on the same machine.Objects for alphanumeric key entry, grouping related items and pop-up windows have also been added.

- New APIs have been created to aid in finding object pixel regions, setting color palettes, searching for pattern matches and replacing a string after is has been found

- Objects for alphanumeric key entry, grouping related items and pop-up screens have also been added.

What's New In Design? New Hi-Tech, Low Cost Innovative Metallic Panels from DPI Help Designers Worldwide Create With New Style.

(PRWEB) April 30, 2022 -- The new lines of textured Carbon Fiber and smooth Metallic panels by Decorative Panels International (DPI) will be the hottest new products of Interzum 2005 in Cologne Germany.

Originally designed for hi-impact areas of style-conscious homes and office environments, the CarbonTech™ and Metallic™ lines feature DPI’s Premium Tempered Hardboard base with scratch and moisture-resistant coating, and are available both in perforated and non-perforated panels. A lower cost alternative to traditional metallic panels, the CarbonTech line delivers the look and texture of a carbon fiber inlay, while the Metallic line features the popular look of brushed stainless steel, copper and bronze. Available in several stock colors as well as any custom PMS color, these panels are giving furniture and cabinet designer’s unlimited options.

According to DPI President, Fred Thompson, this combination of style, durability and attractive cost compared to traditional carbon fiber and metal materials makes them a perfect fit for Interior Designers, Architects as well as Furniture and Cabinet designers.

“These new products allow Designers and Architects to achieve high-end looks and performance, at a considerable cost reduction. DPI has positioned itself in the finished panel marketplace as the premier innovator of unique, cutting-edge designs. Because of our fully integrated manufacturing capabilities, we are able to respond quickly to the latest wall covering and interior design trends” Thompson said.

DPI will also showcase custom colors that include red, pink, yellow, green and blue panels to inspire those that are looking for panels to use in their projects that require a more specialized look. Thompson adds, “These panels are displayed because we want the industry to know that we have in-place capability to go well beyond the standard product. We can work with them to design panels that match their project or corporate colors, and can even provide specialized value-added options like including an image of their logo printed onto the board to make a great brand statement in their retail merchandising.”
