Switch to Direct Drive Air Compressor System Increases Production Time by 30-40%
Improved reliability during 12-hour shifts keeps woodworking tools humming to increase production of doors, moldings, stair parts and more.
(PRWEB) May 24, 2005 -- When the challenge for any successful manufacturer is keeping up with demand, all industrial equipment must operate at maximum potential in order to capitalize fully on sales opportunities. For this reason, plant engineers and operations managers within the burgeoning wood-products industry are increasingly turning to direct-drive electric air compressors to power their tools for longer durations with greater reliability.
Such is the case for Bayer Built Woodworks, Inc. of Belgrade, Minnesota¾a 2-step manufacturer and distributor of millwork, selling to almost 900 building-product retailers in six states. The company's wood offerings include pre-hung interior and exterior doors, wood moldings, stair parts, architectural columns and shelving, as well as storage and entry systems.
"Our building processes are automated, and we have an air compressor on each of four separate production lines to supply the air cylinders that position woodworking tools such as routers and saws" says Cory Bayer, maintenance team leader. "We also use air to power our staplers and nail guns, and we have a 40-horsepower compressor that runs the paint spray guns and air sanders in the pre-finish shop."
Yet, this high demand for air finally overtaxed the factory's existing compressors.
"We used to use regular piston compressors when our volume was less, so it didn't matter that they could only run 60-70% of the time," recalls Bayer. "But as our business grew we needed an http://www.palatek.com [air compressor system that would run all the time, for up to 12 hours a day. So we switched over to the Sullivan-Palatek screw-type compressors because they are more heavy duty and reliable enough to run the long hours that we needed."
Sullivan-Palatek, of Michigan City, Indiana, manufacturers a line of direct-drive rotary-screw air compressor systems that allow woodworking industries to profit from greater reliability and energy savings in their pressurized-air operations. The increased reliability of this design stems from the use of larger air-end assemblies, which results in slower turning rotors that yield extended service life and higher pressure using lower horsepower. Extra efficiency results from use of a direct-drive rotary screw that eliminates unnecessary moving parts such as belts, gears and pulleys—thus reducing the parasitic losses attributed to belts (4-8% loss) and gears (3-5%).
“I can't remember when we've ever had a Sullivan-Palatek unit break down," notes Bayer. "I would definitely recommend the use of these direct drive compressors to other woodworking operations."
Established in 1984, Sullivan-Palatek manufactures industrial equipment such as electric and diesel driven high performance rotary screw air compressors, along with a complete line of accessory items that include air dryers, filters, remediation systems and construction air tools.

Produce Processor Selects Ronningen-Petter DCF Filter for Innovative Sanitizing System
A produce processing company in Tennessee, with assistance from an ozonation system manufacturer in California, has developed an ozonation system for cleaning and sanitizing water used to wash fresh-cut vegetables and lettuce. It is among the first of its kind to be successfully implemented in a fresh-cut processing plant, and the Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filter is the processor’s filter-of-choice.
(PRWEB) May 20, 2005 -- A produce processing company in Tennessee, with assistance from an ozonation system manufacturer in California, has developed an ozonation system for cleaning and sanitizing water used to wash fresh-cut vegetables and lettuce. It is among the first of its kind to be successfully implemented in a fresh-cut processing plant, and the Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filter is the processor’s filter-of-choice.
Situation
The company processes and packages fresh-cut vegetables and lettuce in bags for the ready-to-eat market. Produce is washed, sanitized and transported through the plant by flume water, which is recycled in a closed loop. Previous cleaning methods used chlorine to sanitize the flume water, however, the water quickly became discolored and contaminated with suspended solids and chlorine residue. As a result, the flume water had to be replaced every two to three hours.
To improve product quality and conserve water resources, the owner of the company and his team of consultants spent nearly five years developing an ozonated wash system that applied the known benefits of injecting ozone into water as a means of sanitizing the flume water.
His goals were:
1) to obtain a longer shelf life
2) fresher taste and lower bacterial counts for his product
3) reduce the plant’s water consumption
In the original system prototype, coarse suspended solids were removed from the flume water by a rotary screen with a two millimeter gap. It became apparent during initial testing, however, that fine suspended solids also needed removal
before ozone was injected — to improve the dissolution of ozone in the flume water.
RPA Process Technologies Solution
After further design and testing, a new water cleaning and ozonation system was installed, which included two Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filters equipped with 50 micron wedge wire screens. The DCF filters were placed immediately after the coarse rotary screen, to capture fine lettuce particles and prepare the water for ozone injection. The DCF filters perform a self-cleaning action by mechanically scraping collected particles from the filtering screen with a patented disc that moves up and down the screen, parallel to the liquid flow. Particles are then purged from the collection chamber at the bottom of the filter. This self-cleaning action is performed without halting production, and provides the highest quality filtering under continuous demand. Because the screen is cleaned without interrupting production, a consistently high flow rate is maintained.
Results
Continuous filter: Flume water is cleaned and recycled in an 800 liters-per-minute loop.
Fine filtering: Improves the dissolution of ozone, resulting in dramatically cleaner water, longer run times, and reduced water consumption.
Labor savings: Flume water replacement is required only once a day, instead of every two to three hours.
Ronningen-Petter DCF’s continuous filtering capability means the flume water is cleaned and recycled in an 800 liters-per minute loop without interruption.
Its fine filtering improves the dissolution of ozone in the flume water, resulting in:
1. dramatically cleaner flume water
2. longer run times between water changes
3. reduced water consumption.
Now, flume water replacement is required only once a day, instead of every two to three hours. The company owner is also very pleased with the system’s impact on product quality. His goals of longer product shelf life, fresher taste, lower bacterial counts, and decreased water consumption have been realized.
DCF also provides the additional benefit of improving the performance of a water chiller in the sanitizing system. Immediately after filtering, the flume water is pumped to a chiller where it is cooled to 5°C by spraying the water onto heat exchanger plates. The high quality filtering provided by the DCF eliminates the risk of suspended solids clogging the sprayer nozzles, and keeps the water chiller at optimum performance.
Conclusion
RPA Process Technologies is pleased that its Ronningen-Petter DCF Mechanically-Cleaned filters were chosen as a major component in the innovative sanitizing system developed by the produce processing company. DCF's continuous and high quality filtration make it the perfect solution for produce washing applications, giving the company improved quality and, ultimately, making their company more competitive.

Selecting the Right Filter for Your Process:
Factors to Consider
When selecting a filter for a particular application, the following criteria should be considered:
• How large is the process volume? What is the flow rate?
• Is it continuous or batch process?
• What are the material characteristics of the solids being removed? How large are the particles? Is the material hazardous? Can the material being removed be recycled back into the process?
• What are the waste disposal costs? How often do bags or cartridges need to be replaced? Can the waste volume be reduced or eliminated by switching to a different filtration method?
• What are the labor and downtime costs for filter or cartridge replacement? Can downtime be replaced or eliminated by switching to a different filtration method?
Here is your chance to tap in to a forum of RPA filtration specialist that have decades of experience. They understand the impact your filtration system can have on your process, and would like to help guide you in the selection of the right system for your application and process requirements.
Here is a sample of a few questions:
1. We have Sweet Gas Pipeline that contain a noticeable amount of black powder (Iron Oxides and Iron Sulfides) what will be the best filtration system for it Please note that the line size is 56" dia.
2. I have an aqueous and a solvent based systems with 5-150 micron pigment particles. What filtration system do you recommend for a batch(2000 gal)or 33 gal/min continuous operation.
3. I am looking for an alternative to our current method of filtration. We are filtering high viscosity materials (50,000 cps) at 15 microns. We are using wire mesh cloth and our of our major problems is blinding of the mesh. Our runs are short (less that 100 gallons), so I am looking for small units with minimal dead volume.
RPA Process Technologies owns four brands that have been in the filtration business for over one-hundred years. They are Ronningen-Petter, Filtres Philippe, Filtres Vernay, and Malaxeurs Guittard.
Here is your chance to let them share their knowledge gained by experience with you!

Digital Control Systems Launches the New Model 90 PID Controller
The newest PID controller from Digital Control Systems. An ideal control for OEM Equipment Manufacturers servicing the global marketplace. The Model works from 80 - 280 VAC without modification, and can accept multiple inputs, including RTD probes, and thermocouples.
(PRWEB) May 18, 2005 -- Ideal for Equipment Manufacturers the Digital Control Systems, Inc. Model 90 PID Controller is the latest evolution in the Multistat series of temperature controls. Designed for the global equipment market, the Model 90 PID Controller can operate from direct or alternating current power mains from 80 to 280 volts, so it can be used anywhere in the world without modification or adjustment. “We developed the Model 90 in response to our customers who sell to the international market and who had to juggle the logistics involved with the various voltage requirements around the world -- in addition to flexible load and voltage requirements, the Model 90 is robust and reliable,” said Mike Mueller, President and founder of Digital Control Systems, Inc.
This single-channel PID controller will accurately control single electrical loads of up to 15 Amps. All of the Model 90 control electronics and the user interface are built on a compact (13.5 x 6 cm) circuit board for easy mounting and integration into medical, laboratory, and industrial equipment. Large bright LED digits make the display easy to read from across the room.
Recognizing the considerable safety benefits to be gained from reducing high voltage wiring, Digital Control Systems, Inc, designed the Model 90 to feature a second smaller power module that can be located near the output. This eliminates the need to run high current wiring to the front control panel. As an additional benefit, this power module is connected to the main circuit board with a low voltage cable. A second power module can also be added to control an auxiliary load.
The Model 90 offers more options than similar controls in the Multistat™ family of temperature controls. The extensive options available for the Model 90 make it easy for equipment manufacturers to differentiate similar products. Options such as an audible alarm, two pole alarm relay, RS-232, or a timer can be added individually based on application requirements. The optional RS-232 interface feature enables remote operation and data logging. “Rather than bundle all of the available features, we prefer to offer our customers options on a one by one basis, this way they aren’t paying for features they aren’t going to use”, adds Mike Mueller.
The Model 90 temperature controller works with a variety of inputs. For direct temperature control the Model 90 can be used with economical IC sensors (for operation below 100 °C), RTDs, or type ‘J’ and ‘K’ thermocouples. Major Automotive Company Generates Over $60,000 of Annual Savings
In an effort to reduce operating costs, a major automotive company generated over $60,000 of annual savings, and a Return on Investment (ROI) in less than three months on their filter purchase. The idea was to discard the OEM-equipped replaceable media filters with the NEW Ronningen-Petter® self-cleaning magnetically coupled filter.
(PRWEB) May 16, 2005 -- The process in question was a group of three machining centers that machine aluminum transmission parts. The fluid to be filtered--machine tool coolant--is designed to lubricate, cool, and flush contaminants away from the part and tool. The fluid is collected under the machining operation where it is routed through a set of weirs to separate out the large particulate. A pump then sends the fluid to a housing containing three large 75-micron cartridge filters.
The filters needed to be replaced three times per week, generating a tremendous amount of annual costs to the automotive company. An in-house filtration audit highlighted the recurring high costs of the cartridges cost of disposal labor for change out machining down time. Other costs and inconveniences include tool life concerns, the inability to separate harmful chips from the fluid, all resulting in borderline product quality and safety concerns.
In their search for a solution for the costly and recurring problem, the customer selected a Ronningen-Petter Magnetically Coupled Filter (MCF), which features a permanent self-cleaning slotted filter media, which effectively removes the harmful aluminum chips and fines from the coolant. The automotive company chose the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter for its spring-loaded cleaning disc design that continuously regenerates the open area of the filter media.
The engineers responsible for the machining centers requested tighter filtration, 50 micron, upon installation as a potential opportunity to increase tool life. The new Ronningen-Petter MCF filter was installed seamlessly into the existing space of the removed cartridge filter.
The new Ronningen-Petter MCF permanent self-cleaning filtration equipment positively affected the machining centers with its ability to more efficiently manage the full coolant flow and chip loading. The more efficient cleaning cycle and purge frequency were adjusted to meet the customer's needs. Extending the cycle times greatly increased the life of the moving parts, and allowed for a greater concentration of chips to be discharged. The purge, or concentrated chip stream, was rerouted three weeks into the installation back to a large paper band filter for recycling purposes.
The quality of the filtrate under the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter was evaluated every shift for the first few weeks to ensure the quality of the machined parts. Full evaluation of the economic impact of the MCF installation was completed following three months of continuous operation. The final review determined that the Ronningen-Petter MCF paid for itself within that three-month evaluation period.
How the MCF Works
Machining fluids enter the filter at the top inlet connection and flow into the 316L stainless-steel filter element. As the liquid passes from the inside to the outside of the filter element, unwanted particles are retained on the inside of the slotted screen. Filtered coolant passes thru the outlet connection to the downstream requirement.
With the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter, the collected debris is automatically wiped from the filter media by a cleaning disc that deposits the solids in the lower chamber of the housing, out of the flow path. An adjustable timer sets the cleaning disc stroke frequency.
Periodically, the collected debris gathered by the cleaning disc is purged from the lower chamber in less than a second, using system pressure. Like the stroke frequency, an adjustable timer presets the purge timer.
With shrinking budgets, increased production and reduction of labor forces, mechanically cleaned filtration such as the Ronningen-Petter MCF filter offers a tremendous advantage over replaceable media.

UBiee Team Fuels Global Market
The UBiee Team, a global community of professional visionary marketing experts, integrating communications via online Hot Conference and 3WTel Superior VoIP services, announces the fusion of its third international eBusiness, the UBiee Power Pill FE-3. This extraordinary harmonic trio creates a promising future for consumers worldwide, as well as UBiee Team members.
(PRWEB) May 14, 2005 -- The size of a quarter, the UBiee Power Pill FE-3 is a new generation fuel conditioner, not an obsolete additive. It is not only the ultimate environmentally friendly fuel conditioner that increases engine power, but it literally reduces carbon deposits, increases fuel economy, reduces exhaust emissions, and saves money. Its ability to be used on all engines performing on either gasoline or diesel fuel makes it an extremely attractive and formidable product.
Major US companies and utilities such as the Navy, Coast Guard, Power Stations, Railways, etc. have used the UBiee Power Pill FE-3. Thanks to the ingenuity of the UBiee Team, the UBiee Power Pill FE-3 is being made available to the general public.
The global impact of the UBiee Power Pill FE-3 is an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) dream, as it significantly reduces harmful exhaust emissions such as Greenhouse gases – carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. Made of non-toxic, all natural formulation, with 100% active ingredients, it improves fuel combustion by enabling engines to burn completely with absolutely no residue left.
Prior to using the UBiee Power Pill FE-3, emission tests were conducted in 1998 by Swedish laboratory, Rototest, on 84 different models and revealed that on both old and new cars, exhaust emissions continued to be a problem. Research included testing for hydrocarbons, including carcinogens such as benzine and smog-producing volatile organic compounds, poisonous carbon monoxide, and oxides of nitrogen, which negatively impact our environment and contribute to asthma, acid rain, and smog.
All models were then re-tested after applying the UBiee Power Pill FE-3. Reports showed that dangerous exhaust emissions were significantly reduced 24% to 78%.
78% reduction in Carbon Monoxide emissions
24% reduction in Hydrocarbon emissions
73% reduction in Smoke Pollutant emissions
The UBiee Power Pill FE-3 also dramatically improves fuel economy, thus consumers experience substantial savings on gasoline and/or diesel consumption.
A test conducted by SAE International (The Society for Advanced Mobility, Land, Sea, Air, and Space) using data from 49,710 miles (80,000Km) indicated an immediate improvement in fuel economy upon the addition of the UBIEE Power Pill FE-3. Mileage improved by 8.4% -- from 23.1 to 25.03 -- which represents a tremendous cost savings for consumers.
Carbon deposits in engines result in loss of engine power and octane requirements. The UBiee Power Pill FE-3 has a dual affect on carbon deposits. It not only eliminates existing built up carbon deposits, but it also combats and eradicates the formation of new deposits. The result is a reduction in vehicle octane requirements along with a significant restoration of engine power.
The rising prices of leaded gasoline, subsequent to the Federal Government attempting to “wean” consumers off leaded gasoline, has negatively impacted engine durability. A joint report by the EPA and the Department of Agriculture stated that, “medium and high speed engines with soft valve seats will experience excessive valve-seat wear if operated on unleaded gasoline”. The UBIEE Power Pill FE-3 formulation renders the optimum solution, as it acts as a lead substitute for engines designed to run on leaded gasoline while it conditions the engine.
The makers of the UBiee Power Pill FE-3 guarantee their product is safe to use in all gasoline and diesel applications. For consumer peace of mind, their claim is backed by a $10 million insurance policy for any single claim proving engine damage caused by product usage.
In today’s economy, the UBiee Team’s vision and commitment to relieve poverty in the world and create a wealthy welfare for everyone, is evident in their ever-widening range of global opportunity businesses. The synergy of online Hot Conference, 3WTel Superior VoIP, and their latest business, the UBiee Power Pill FE-3, promises a brighter future for all. The UBiee Team’s universal circle of friendship continues to extend a hand to all who desire to change their financial destiny.

Taking care of the dust
May 13, 2005
A new conveyor design for dusty applications.
The main features are for taking care of the dust in the tissue industry, between the log-saws and the primary packaging.
Instead of the dust being collected and hardened inside the equipment it will be easier evacuated. The new conveyor is designed for transporting round items; it enables smooth contact with the naked products, minimizing product damages. Further wear resistance has been achieved with new slide rails, a modified chain link and a new idler end unit. These new components fit into FlexLink’s existing conveyor platforms.
Reduced time for change-over
A simple but unique concept for guiding roll products in an efficient way has been used for several years by FlexLink. The guide rails eliminate the need for changing over the conveyors between different product sizes. This concept maintains the reliability, preventing products to be dislocated.
FlexLink also has a wide range of guide rails system for larger products like packs, bags and bundles, from easy manually adjustable to a system for automatic and centrally changed over systems.

Visidot Installs Unique Ford F150 Chassis Identification AIDC System
ImageID Ltd., a leader in Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technology has successfully installed a Visidot AIDC System at the Ford F150 plant in Dearborn to improve production speed and increase plant efficiency. The installation was implemented in conjunction with Visidot partner Wireless & Barcode in Michigan.
Tel Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) May 11, 2005 -- ImageID Ltd., a leader in Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technology has successfully installed a Visidot AIDC System at the Ford F150 plant in Dearborn to improve production speed and increase plant efficiency. The installation was implemented in conjunction with Visidot partner Wireless & Barcode in Michigan.
The Ford plant, which produces Ford F150's, uses a fully automated Build Order system to produce its trucks. With multiple frame types to choose from, the company was looking for the most efficient way to expedite verification of the chassis type as it was being placed onto the production line. In December 2004, the company decided to install the Visidot system at the frame entrance to the plant to identify and verify the correct selection of the chassis type before it reached the conveyor belt inside. The newly installed Visidot reader captures a 2D Data Matrix label affixed to each chassis and confirms, in real-time with Ford’s production line controller, that the chassis is correct and can enter the assembly line. Since installation, the system accuracy has been perfect - 100%.
Ford considered other options before selecting Visidot. The particular conditions at the plant meant that the right system would need to meet several criteria. First, due to the size of and position of the chassis, the system had to be able to capture a label from a distance of more than 20 feet and encompass a large field of view of over 3 feet wide. Secondly, the company needed to find a solution that would not incur up-charges from parts suppliers. For this reason, RFID would have been cost-prohibitive whereas the price of adding the 2D Data Matrix symbol to the existing paper label is practically zero.
Rami Kopelman, VP Sales & Marketing for ImageID, commented, “The Visidot installation at Ford has demonstrated the product’s unique advantages over other automatic identification technologies, such as RFID and linear barcode. We are very glad to work with Ford and I am pleased that the plant is already experiencing greatly improved accuracy."

The New Competitive Edge in Industrial Equipment: The Direct-Drive Air Compressor
Those who demand optimum performance of an air compressor system capitalize on the advantages of less moving parts
Michigan City, IN (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) May 4, 2005 -- In a quest to wring every ounce of performance from a manufacturing or processing plant, every piece of equipment must operate at maximum output with minimal maintenance. Realizing that less moving parts translates into greater reliability and increased efficiency engineers requiring an air compressor are now turning to today's new direct-drive systems.
The reasons for this shift are apparent. Air compressor belts stretch over time and require adjustment of the pulleys. Belts also occasionally break, bringing production to a halt. Gears fare only marginally better, requiring constant lubrication while suffering parasitic losses. Once the teeth wear down, replacement gears must be installed while production waits.
"Gears and belts have persisted for a surprisingly long time because it's the least expensive and most flexible way of building machinery," observes Steve Van Loan, President of Sullivan-Palatek, a manufacturer of direct-drive rotary screw air compressors. "But businesses now operate with scalpel-thin operating margins where any break in production can put you 'in the red.' In such environments, the advantages of direct drive prove invaluable."
While the majority of electric air compressors in the 5-100 hp range are belt or gear-driven, the Sullivan-Palatek air compressor system utilizes a direct-drive rotary screw which eliminates many unnecessary moving parts such as gears and pulleys. Sullivan-Palatek compressors also employ larger rotors in the air-end assemblies that, in effect, offer a "higher displacement" so that they turn slower. The net result is extended service life while delivering more air at higher pressures using lower horsepower.
The simplified design advantage of having the electric motor directly drive the rotary compressing unit also translates into electrical cost savings up to 8% over compressors that employ intermediary drives.
Given less maintenance, more up-time, and greater operating efficiency, direct drive air compressors allow plant and facility managers to concentrate on achieving peak performance.
Sullivan-Palatek manufactures electric and diesel driven rotary screw air compressors, along with a complete line of accessories.

New Oscilloscope Provides Sophisticated Features – Without the Price Tag
The growing need for a high-bandwidth, full-featured oscilloscope - without the premium price – is intensifying for advanced, high-speed electronics testing
(PRWEB via PR Web Direct) May 3, 2005 -- With advances in high-speed digital circuitry, many engineers require a powerful digital oscilloscope that can perform a variety of test and measurement functions including multi-channel operations at high acquisition speeds, scalable memory settings (without sacrificing speed), and real-time waveform persistence that offers insight into waveform behavior over time.
Unfortunately, a digital oscilloscope with this array of features often comes with a prohibitive price tag. As a result, engineers are forced to cope with outdated and underpowered equipment, which can result in serious setbacks in R&D, quality control, delivery schedules and customer satisfaction.
With this in mind, Yokogawa, an innovator in test and measurement equipment, is offering its signalXplorer DL9000 Series of high-bandwidth, high-speed digital oscilloscopes – without the premium price tag. Features include 1 and 1.5 GHz bandwidth with four analog channels; scalable memory that maintains high-speed acquisition; and real-time statistical representation of waveforms. The series includes a high-definition 8.4” LCD, memory purge, the ability to save up to 2000 waveforms into history memory, along with advanced display capabilities.
The DL9000 series starts at $10,995, a considerable value compared to high-performance oscilloscopes that have less memory yet are 25-65% more expensive.
High-speed waveform acquisition is provided by two main components: The A/D conversion section includes cascade-type 2.5 GS/s 8-bit converters that are run in parallel and designed for low power consumption. The signal processing circuits generate display data and also perform high-speed waveform and parameter calculations.
Unlike oscilloscopes that offer fast acquisition modes but place limits on the amount of memory used in such modes, the DL9000 Series allows engineers to choose as much memory as necessary for a given measurement.
The series provides four-channel, parallel signal processing for board-level testing via a proprietary Advanced Data Stream Engine (ASDE). As such, the DL9000 can perform 9,000 acquisitions/sec/channel @ 12.k word memory using one or more channels; with all four channels this is equivalent to 450 million points/sec.
Thousands of waveforms per channel can be simultaneously displayed through a new waveform accumulation system. This function utilizes the History memory of the oscilloscope to provide valuable insight into occurrences on other channels during an anomaly, along with the ability to replay or manually step through acquisitions to find the cause.
The images displayed through accumulation on the oscilloscope can be viewed in multi-color or single-color-multi-intensity modes, where the color or intensity changes based on the frequency of waveform events. These images provide visual information about waveform behavior over time, similar to older analog models.

Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. Goes Rampless
Innovative rampless Concrete Washout Systems™ container to compliment and add versatility for jobsites.
Elk Grove, CA (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) May 2, 2005 -- Concrete Washout Systems, Inc., (CWS) announced today that it has developed a new rampless version of its pioneering and patent pending product, Concrete Washout Systems™ container.
The new rampless container is essentially a stripped version of the flagship Concrete Washout Systems™ container, with the ramps removed. The new container will have more holding capacity at six (6) cubic yards and have the ability to hold more washwater on the jobsite, up to 400 gallons more. The new rampless version can be configured with hook points for craning the box onto commercial high-rises to add even more options for clients.
"The rampless box was put into production to continue providing our customers with the best available technology and as a direct result of feedback obtained from the customers and end users on the jobsites," stated Mark Jenkins, President of Concrete Washout Systems, Inc. "The rampless box is not a replacement for our flagship ramped box, but a complimentary tool when more than one box is needed on a jobsite or when there are no concrete pumps being used. The added versatility will allow our customers the opportunity to use our patent pending systems on various applications where before, they had very little if any compliant options available," added Mr. Jenkins.
The patent pending CWS is a portable, self-contained and watertight bin that controls, captures and contains concrete washout material and wastewater. It allows trade personnel to easily washout concrete trucks, pumps and equipment on site and facilitates easy off site recycling of the same concrete materials and wastewater, while protecting the storm drain system from potential illegal discharges. The off site recycling component creates an even more environmentally sound application. This system replaces other outdated washout BMP's, which are costly, unsightly and damaging to the environment since their containment value diminishes, due to inherently faulty material, over use and lack of maintenance.
