From shortness of breath to back to work.
(PRWEB) June 9, 2005 -- The first 10 Heart Failure patients all over the world who received Embryonic-Fetal Human Stem Cells directly into their hearts were operated on by Federico Benetti MD, Luis Geffner MD, Teodoro Maldonado MD and Yuliy Baltaytis MD, PhD. in Hospital Luis Vernaza, from the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, between January 24th and February 5th, 2005. At 4 months follow up the patients are alive, did not show any side effects or rejection reactions due to the cells, their cardiac function improved and there was a dramatic change of their quality of life, cardiologist Ernesto Penaherrera MD said. The details were presented at the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (ISMICS) last June 4th in New York.
