Envirocycle Opens New Bay Area Collection Facility

Hayward, CA facility is first of many planned collection and consolidation points in Envirocycle's expansion effort. The electronic recycling company now has three operations serving California and the rest of the West Coast.

Envirocycle, Inc., one of the nations leading recyclers of electronic
equipment, has opened an electronic recycling consolidation center in
Hayward, California. The facility at 30968 San Benito Court serves as a collection and consolidation point for the Northwest United States, where recyclable material is prepared for shipment to the Rancho Cucamonga facility for processing.

Notifications and applications are being processed for the facility to be approved by the California Integrated Waste Management Board and the Department of Toxic Substances to collect and recycle electronics, and it will be authorized to participate in the CEW payment system.

“Envirocycle is expanding quickly, having just opened processing centers in San Diego and Rancho Cucamonga in the last few months, with a soon to open West Virginia operation,” said Envirocycle COO Greg Voorhees. “We see an urgent need for collection centers like Hayward, which will allow us to reach our customers more quickly, efficiently, and at less expense.”

Envirocycle, with corporate offices in Hallstead, PA, offers complete
recycling services from dismantling of electronics to asset management, and specializes in glass-to-glass recycling. They are one of the largest processors of post-consumer Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) glass in the country.

Envirocycle accepts all types of electronics, from mainframe computers to PDA’s, with the only exceptions being smoke detectors and thermostats. California residents and businesses are encouraged to bring their obsolete equipment to the Hayward facility between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or schedule a pick-up by calling 510-299-3957. Some monitors and TV's are accepted free of charge, but for other equipment there may be a small fee to cover the cost of recycling. Information is also available at www.enviroinc.com, or by calling (800) 711-6010.
