Cornwall Glass Buck Industry Trend With New Shift

A successful Cornish manufacturing business is bucking the negative trend in their industry by creating new jobs with the introduction of a new shift to keep pace with demand for their products and services.

(PRWEB) April 29, 2006 -- St. Austell-based Cornwall Glass and Glazing have introduced a twilight shift at their £2million purpose built state-of-the-art factory where they toughen glass and manufacture around 2,500 sealed double glazed units each week. The extended hours will see production at the Holmbush site increase by 15%. Enabling the company to satisfy demand and be more responsive to the needs of their customer base across the region.

Mark Mitchell, managing director, said: “The current trend in our industry is one of gloom and doom, site closures and reduced sales. We are pleased to be bucking this trend by creating jobs, increasing output and are optimistic about the future.”

This is the latest in a line of achievements for this Cornish family owned company. This year has already seen them securing the prestigious BSI kitemark status and the opening of the £1.5million Exeter Glass Centre, their ninth outlet in Devon and Cornwall. Summing up, Mark Mitchell says: “We are a proud Cornish business and pleased to be contributing to the local economy. Despite the currently challenging climate we are determined to continually improve and grow.”
