American Elements' Hafnium Metal, Hafnium Carbide, Hafnium Telluride and Hafnium Thin Film Deposition and Evaporation Coating Materials to be Consolidated into Product Group
American Elements announced plans to merge the sales and distribution of its hafnium products into a single marketing product group.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 30, 2007 -- American Elements announced plans to merge the sales and distribution of its hafnium products into a single marketing product group.
American Elements is a manufacturer specializing in hafnium based metal, alloy, compound and crystal materials, including hafnium rod, pellets and foil, hafnium carbide, hafnium crystal structures such as hafnium telluride and hafnium selenide and hafnium compounds, such as hafnium chloride, hafnium nitrate, and hafnium oxide. Hafnium for deposition and evaporation uses in thin film and coating applications include hafnium foil, hafnium sputtering targets, hafnium rod and hafnium pellets and hafnium oxide as tablets and pellets.
This expanded availability of hafnium forms will advance the to use of hafnium to replace polysilicon as the principle gate or electrode material in metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) which are the basis for all modern semiconductors. As semiconductors have gotten smaller, the limiting factor in further size reduction has been the ability of the silicon oxide gate to perform below 10 angstroms where leakage occurs. Recent research has been devoted to the development of High-k materials which can function as
di-electric barriers or gates with lower leakage. Using hafnium based alloys as this di-electric gate has allowed for the development of MOSFET gates smaller than 10 angstroms. This also allows for further size reduction, reduced switching power requirements and improved performance.
This consolidation is intended to streamline sales and customer support and combine production capabilities where possible for better efficiency. The consolidation will not result in any worker or staffing reductions.
For further technical and pricing information on American Elements products, please visit us at www.americanelements.com or contact your local American Elements distributor or American Elements U.S. corporate headquarters at (1)310-208-0551 or FAX (1)310-208-0351. American Elements is America's leading manufacturer and supplier of rare earth and other advanced material products with distribution offices in Europe, Asia, South America and India.

John Mehrmann to Speak at the Reverse Logistics Conference & Expo in Las Vegas
John Mehrmann, a leading authority and industry expert, will serve as a speaker at the Reverse Logistics Trade Show (RLTS) Conference and Expo. Third Party Service Providers (3PSPs) will be exhibiting Reverse Logistics services and solutions at the conference to take place February 5-7, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) January 30, 2007 -- John Mehrmann, a leading authority and industry expert, will present "Evolve or Become Extinct, A Reverse Logistics Model to Deliver Expanded Shareholder Value."
In the evolution of Supply Chain Management Services and Solutions, Reverse Logistics evolved from a requirement for merely managing returns into a competitive advantage for Retail, OEMs and Branded companies that manage the process wisely. Reverse Logistics has become a keystone for balancing customer satisfaction, supply demand responsiveness and bottom line performance. Properly managing Reverse Logistics and the Supply Chain Solutions can make or break the financial stability of an organization.
"In the Supply Chain you are either the one driving the truck, the one pumping the gas or the one paying the other two. The simple goal is to know what needs to be moved and to do it less," said John Mehrmann.
John Mehrmann has more than 20 years of management experience that spans logistics, operations, e-commerce, finance, customer relations, marketing, training and consulting. Prior to his role of Regional Director at DEX, he worked for Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc, Toshiba Imaging Systems Division, Toshiba America Consumer Products and SatisFusion.
John Mehrmann is a member of the advisory committee for Motivation Education, an education development program designed to promote social and scholastic advancement through science and Technology. He has received the Certificate of Recognition and Industry Achievement Award Honors, the NPSC Award of Appreciation, and the USA Certificate of Appreciation for the Institute of Service Management.
At the Reverse Logistics Trade Show (RLTS) Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, Third Party Service Providers (3PSPs) will demonstrate Reverse Logistics services and solutions on a global basis to OEMs, Retailers and Branded companies.
Reverse supply chain providers working independently have difficulty to achieve and demonstrate value. Technology is essential to leverage integration and expedite intelligent decisions with multiple tiered operators. Collaboration is required to provide Best Practices, increase revenue, reduce expense and optimize capital.
"In Service, to be competitive is to be the first to provide the services that would otherwise put you out of business. If you can do this, you will place your competitors out of business, or at least have them working for you," said John Mehrmann.
Conference Highlights will include:
"Industry Overview Size and Forecast", by Gailen Vick, President & CEO of Reverse Logistics Trends, Inc
"How do you use Reverse Logistics to Impact Forward Logistics and Customer Satisfaction", by Thomas Maher, Director of America's Enterprise Logistics at DELL

New Beverage Development Eyes Functional Food Trend
Food technologist reviews newest beverage innovations.
(PRWEB) January 30, 2007 -- Consumer demand for healthful foods and beverages is on the rise in the US. New beverage development utilizing scientific discoveries of specific ingredients can produce specific functions that provide a health benefit to the consumer. These ingredients have led to innovative beverage development that seems to garner much attention from the consumer.
Functional foods and beverages contain specific ingredients that strive to enhance a specific physical or mental function. Functions can be as broadly defined as smart drinks, energy drinks or beverages that can promote overall wellness.
New beverage development is becoming more of a creative art form these days. Developing beverages that have many functions take an extreme amount of experience in not only the beverage industry, but the nutraceutical industry as well.
Expert industry consultant and beverage technologist Pete Maletto of PTM Food Consulting http://www.foodconsultant.biz talks about the latest functional beverage trends and how the consumer will react to new innovations he's applying in new beverage development utilizing his experience in the nutraceutical industry.
The energy drink trend is one that seems to be riding an upward trend, but that may soon level off. "Energy drinks are now starting to receive a negative reaction as some consumers worry about the high levels of caffeine in these beverages. Energy drinks may contain as much as 200 mg of caffeine per can, the equivalent to a very large cup of coffee. Compared to the 65 mg. of caffeine in a Mountain Dew, or the 55 mg. in a Coca-Cola, that's a huge jump. Many consumers are starting to see the side effects from too much caffeine in these beverages such as a rapid rise in heart rate and blood pressure (sometimes to the point of palpitations). Abuse can also wreck havoc on the central nervous system from the increase in stress, dehydrate the body, and, like other stimulants, prevent sleep." said Pete Maletto
Maletto has utilized innovations in amino acid technology in energy drinks and dietary supplements he has developed, which can allow lower levels of caffeine, but provide the same kick to the consumer without doing as much damage to the central nervous system and minimizing side effects.
Other upcoming trends are beverages that can provide a lift to the user, without caffeine, such as smart drinks or even beverages that can enhance sex functions. "The category should see a branch off of energy drinks into other functions consumers in the same age demographic can feel, such as hangover prevention, sex drive, and even drinks that can improve memory and mental focus. We have several innovative formulations we are currently developing and everyone is raving about how well they actually work. Imagine drinking a beverage that actually provides an increase in sex drive about twenty minutes after consumption." said Maletto
Other trends in new beverage development are those that contain high levels of antioxidants and phytochemicals. Consumers know these nutrients as the common vitamins A, C, E, and the minerals selenium and zinc. But more recently, another class of antioxidants is taking center stage. These antioxidants are known as phytochemicals, which are natural organic compounds found in plants, fruits and super foods.
"Green tea has been the leading antioxidant beverage that has seen mainstream acceptance, but new super foods are coming this way. These include very powerful antioxidant super foods that can come from berries such as Wolfberry, Acai, Blueberry, Raspberry and Bilberry and they have the highest antioxidant capacity of any fruit. Pomegranate juice is the first product that has become very popular pushing these antioxidant health benefits and the increased popularity with the juice has been phenomenal. From a beverage development standpoint we are now looking at infusing these products with even higher concentrations of the natural occurring phytochemicals to provide an even greater consumer health benefit," said Maletto.

Victrex plc Launches www.victrex.mobi, the First Web Site of its Kind in the Global High Performance Materials Market
Victrex plc launches www.victrex.mobi, the first website of its kind in the global high performance materials market. This new domain provides mobile phone and PDA users instant access to materials and application data.
Thornton Cleveleys, UK (PRWEB) January 29, 2007 -- In a bid to improve access to materials data, Victrex has launched Victrex.mobi, an 'on-the-go' version of its website designed specifically for PDAs and handheld devices. As part of the Victrex's strategy to continually innovate in all areas of the company, victrex.mobi is the first of its kind to hit the global materials market.
VICTREX® PEEK, VICOTE® Coatings, along with company and application data is featured on the site.
"As the world has become more mobile and we all spend more time away from our desks, we realize the importance of accessing data while on the move," said Terri Jordan, Global Marketing Manager at Victrex. "With the launch of Victrex.mobi, we are giving designers and engineers instant access to important information while they are in the field."
Victrex.mobi is a redesigned snapshot of the existing Victrex.com website which is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Victrex.mobi is available in English, with a planned roll-out into other languages in the next month. Phase two includes the ability to download technical data, literature, seminars, and podcasts. In addition, Victrex trade show locations and Victrex location addresses will be tied to on-line mapping, giving users the ability to follow a map on the mobile device to the Victrex location.
"The launch of Victrex.mobi is another element of Victrex's customer-first strategy," says Jordan. "Customers in Asia and the US in particular identified a need to access information while they are in the field or on the road, where they are often only able to access the web through handheld devices, such as Blackberry's, Treo's and other PDAs. Viewing and downloading information from a website can be difficult with handheld devices. With Victrex.mobi, users have simplified access to data no matter where they are in the world."
"The introduction of Victrex.mobi is an innovative step for a materials company like Victrex and we applaud their foresight. The availability of mobi domains just became available a few months ago, and Victrex wanted to be one of the first companies in the world to have this type of offering. Users of mobi websites don't have to worry about compatibility or bandwidth issues and, with the touch of a button, they can toggle around numbered pages, making navigation easy," said Steve Williams, Creative Director / President at AllWebCafe, Victrex's Interactive agency. "As the demand for online services intensifies, companies have to implement different and often sophisticated tactics to keep customers up-to-date. Mobi website technology is new and currently offers static sites that are simplistic in appearance such as sites were when the Internet first began."

Enterprise Asset Management Summit and Reliability Forum Highlight "Best in Class" Companies
Data shows proactive techniques and leaders create asset uptime of 92% and return of invested capital of 97% to outpace laggards.
Fort Myers, FL (PRWEB) January 29, 2007 -- Reliabilityweb.com, an online community of over 50,000 maintenance and reliability professionals, recently partnered with the Aberdeen Group to encourage members to participate in a study titled "Collaborative Asset Management Strategies".
Aberdeen's analysts and researchers Mark Vigoroso and Michael Israel have uncovered significant characteristics of "best practice" companies. According to the recently issued report these "organizations reap substantially larger benefits from improved maintenance practices than do average and laggard establishments, including:
• Significantly improved asset reliability,
• Greater asset uptime and availability,
• Lower costs of servicing assets,
• Fewer unexpected downtimes and outages, and
• A higher return on invested capital."
According to Reliabilityweb.com Publisher, Terrence O'Hanlon, CMRP "This report validates our position that companies need Reliability Centered Maintenance as an advanced maintenance strategy and Enterprise Asset Management or Enterprise Analytic software to manage maintenance. Many companies are stuck in a reactive mode as they struggle with aging assets, increasing costs, fewer skilled workers and increased competitive pressures. Creating operation excellence through effective physical asset management is proven to "pay off" for companies that have blazed the trail. Reactive maintenance and a lack of strategy is a losing proposition."
Reliabilityweb.com events showcase best practice companies at conferences like RCM-2007 - The Reliability Centered Maintenance Managers' Forum and EAM-2007 - The Enterprise Asset Management Summit which take place at the Sheraton Waikiki in Honolulu Hawaii from April 3-6, 2007.
"We appreciate the response from the maintenance and reliability professional community by selling out this event last year and encouraging us to meet in place to attract a larger international audience. Maintenance and reliability professionals appreciate the difference a practitioner facing organization can deliver" states event organizer and Publisher Terrence O'Hanlon. "Physical Asset Management is the last untapped bastion of corporate productivity and shareholder value. Equipment reliability is the key that will allow "best practice" companies to outpace competitors who are late adopters or laggards."
Reliability Centered Maintenance is a strategy to ensure production and process equipment reliability by determining the "right" maintenance work to perform. Enterprise Asset Management is the tool to ensure that that work and material are managed as effectively as accounting transactions. Together these strategies and technologies propel asset management for 21st century leaders.
Attendance at all Reliabilityweb.com events is limited to ensure the best possible experience and interaction. Early registration is encouraged through discounts and the fact that 2006 events sold out.

Rohm and Haas Announces Leadership Changes in its Electronic Materials Business Group
Rohm and Haas Company's (NYSE:ROH) Electronic Materials business group, an innovator of advanced material solutions for the electronics industry, has announced several changes in its executive leaders. These moves, effective immediately, are associated with the company's "Vision 2010" growth strategy and reorganization, which was announced in October 2006.
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (Vocus/PRWeb ) January 29, 2007 -- Rohm and Haas Company's (NYSE:ROH) Electronic Materials business group, an innovator of advanced material solutions for the electronics industry, has announced several changes in its executive leaders. These moves, effective immediately, are associated with the company's "Vision 2010" growth strategy and reorganization, which was announced in October 2006.
Dr. Pierre Brondeau, vice president and business group director for Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials, has been promoted to executive vice president and business group executive for both the Electronic Materials and the newly configured Specialty Materials business groups. Dr. Brondeau, who joined Rohm and Haas in 1989 and has held several leadership positions in the Electronic Materials business since 1995, will also retain senior executive oversight for the company's European and Asia-Pacific regions.
The broader, increased responsibilities for Dr. Brondeau have led to several changes in Electronic Material's senior leadership.
Dr. Yi Hyon Paik, vice president and business director for the company's Microelectronic Technologies business, has been promoted to business group director for Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials. He will focus on the business's overall growth strategy and the creation of new business models, including ongoing development of the Flat Panel Display Technologies business. Dr. Paik joined Rohm and Haas in 1990, and has held several leadership positions in the U.S. and Asia.
Dr. Dominic Yang, Asia-Pacific region general manager for the CMP Technologies business unit, has replaced Dr. Paik as business director for the Microelectronic Technologies business. He brings to this assignment deep experience in the semiconductor industry, having worked for IBM and Motorola, Inc. in several leadership roles. Dr. Yang joined Rohm and Haas in 1996.
Sam Shoemaker, previously vice president and business director for Rohm and Haas's Circuit Board Technologies business, has been named business director for CMP Technologies. He joined Morton International's Electronic Materials Division in 1984, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in research, technical service, and sales/marketing. (Rohm and Haas acquired Morton in 1999.) Mr. Shoemaker continues to serve as Rohm and Haas Company's director of the Asia-Pacific region.
Bob Ferguson, North American general manager for Rohm and Haas's Plastics Additives business, replaces Sam Shoemaker as business director for Circuit Board Technologies. This marks a return to a business and industry Mr. Ferguson knows well--he previously served as Circuit Board Technologies' general manager for North America and Europe. He has over 20 years experience in the electronic materials industry, and serves on the board of directors of IPC, a leading association serving the circuit board industry.
David Schram, recently elected a Rohm and Haas Company vice president, will continue to serve as business director for the Packaging and Finishing Technologies business. Mr. Schram has over 30 years of experience in the advanced packaging, plating, and finishing industry.
"I could not be more pleased with these leadership changes," Dr. Brondeau said. "Every one of these individuals brings significant industry experience to their roles, many having spent their entire careers in the electronics area. Each has demonstrated the kind of skill, commitment, and passion that has helped position Rohm and Haas as one of the premier electronic material suppliers."

AmeriChinaB2B Launches "Gateway to the Chinese Business Market" Internet Sales Portal
Small and medium sized businesses benefit from the web-marketing platform, which will help U.S. businesses sell into the Chinese business market. American company will be able to grow their businesses in a new market and reach millions of distributors, agents and manufacturing sourcing sites by posting their sales message on the new web platform.
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) January 29, 2007 -- After completing a year long development AmeriChinaB2B the Palo Alto California headquartered internet B2B company is proud to announce the launch of its global exporting portal to China, "Gateway to the Chinese Business Market."
AmeriChinaB2B's web platform targets small and medium sized U.S. businesses interested in exporting their products or services through distributor, partnership ventures and manufacturing sourcing companies throughout China's vast industrial base.
The newly built web platform services will provide clients an integrated marketing and sales focused portal to deliver their sales message to Chinese businesses. U.S. companies will be able to open up potential new business opportunities and establish a unique competitive advantage of fully targeting Chinese buyers in need of US export products and services.
Operating as both a "sales lead generation tool" and a provider of special consulting services, AmeriChinaB2B will assist U.S. businesses to navigate through the difficult and often peculiar hurdles when entering into new markets.
AmeriChinaB2B services will include on-line and off-line marketing promotion, Chinese company credential investigation, language training, market research, website and documentation. Additional features include Chinese translation, local domain hosting services, sales assistance and off-shore feasibility research. In addition AmeriChinaB2B will also focus on aiding U.S. companies to recruit sales representatives and form partnerships in China.
And with many U.S. businesses now confronted with maturing domestic markets and greater foreign competition these businesses are beginning to recognize the need to export into China one of the worlds greatest expanding markets.
AmeriChinaB2B President Ben Lee believes that it is most important and imperative that American small business firms recognize that their companies will have a distinct advantage by entering the Chinese business-to-business markets. An advantage that many U.S. businesses have not had before.
"It is the advantage of working with AmeriChinaB2B, a company that clearly has the understanding and familiarly of the Chinese culture as well as the understanding of how to overcome the difficulties of trade barriers that many American companies have faced for decade," Lee said.
Accepting that U.S small business can no longer avoid selling to China because of concerns over trade barriers, Lee suggests that there is great opportunity for selling industrial business and consumer goods to a nation starving for new and innovative products.
"Instead of importing cheap made goods from China, instead of seeking out sourcing locations we can now begin to export; to sell to China and that helps America," Lee insists, "And just maybe we can even be able to impact the trade deficit we have with China."
One of the major goals of AmeriChinaB2B has been to build a strong collaborative team of experienced businesses both here and in China.
"And with the complexities of entering the Chinese business market it is important that outside firms consider partnering with firms that can help cut through the red tape and help with the complexities of the Chinese business practices," Lee suggest.
Lee also points out that the Chinese government as recently as January 19, 2007 through its Department of Commerce promotes greater activities in importing. Now China will offer more favorable trade polices to companies who focus on importing as well as lowering tariff and the possibility of eliminating import quotas. Greater importing by China is driven by its desire to reduce its trade surplus with other nations. The Chinese Government has set a three years goal (2007-2010) to achieve its surplus reduction.
The evidence is clear that there are even more growing opportunities for expanding the selling of American products to China for both sourcing manufacturing and exporting for domestic consumption in the country. To take advantage of the Chinese markets U.S. business firms clearly need the guidance of marketing firms like AmeriChinaB2B.

World's First "Capped and Wrapped" Beverage Can Debuts
"Clean Mean" energy drink is introduced with Advercan's "Clean Cap"
(PRWEB) January 26, 2007 -- The innovators at Clean Mean Energy are the first in the world to introduce an energy drink that has a new clean can-top-label, a mean energy jolt, and a colorful "Keep Cool Can" plastic wrap around a new drink.
"Clean Mean Energy" has all the taste and power drink attributes as the top three energy players, but with an outstanding unique packaging design never before available globally.
The lemon lime Taurine packed drink is sure to appease its targeted consumer profile with a boost of mean energy and pictures of the "Clean Mean Girls," BMX, motor cross, potential of NASCAR, Xbox, Play Station, sports figures and other interests printed on the can's top and side.
The drink is sealed with Advercan's new biodegradable waterproof can-top-label called the "Clean Cap." The can top label is made of a proprietary material recently developed by Advercan and is now ready for high-speed beverage lines globally. Both IWKA PT, and Krones claim they can reach line speeds with can top labeling.
The 16oz can is also wrapped with ITW's Advercan inspired method of sleeving aluminum containers. Says John Krukemeyer of ITW, "We at ITW Autosleeve think that Advercan's 'Clean Mean' promotional package offers a new and exciting way to promote your can packaging, whether it is sports teams, grocery chains or just doing a prize promotion. Another big benefit is the Clean-Cap. You no longer have to worry about dust or dirt on the lid." Tom Bachman, of Beverage Industry Magazine adds, "Now for the first time, cans have the capability of 'under the cap' type of promotions previously restricted only to bottles. In addition, there are the opportunities for aroma and electronic chip technologies that have never before been available. In Today's consumer products world, security and sanitation are of utmost importance in providing products that are attractive, convenient yet safe." He goes on to say, "The ADVERCAN system is the emerging technology for touch and target TNT marketing."
"I thought it would be an exciting way to introduce a uniquely wild energy drink if I applied Advercan's can top label technology to allow retailers and C-stores a targeted branding and co-promotion ad space at no charge atop a new drink," says K Mac McClintock, the inventor of the Clean Mean packaging concepts. "Great examples would be 7-11's new performance fuels, can-top-lotto, a 'Peel to Reveal' free Xbox contest, or Wal*Mart's 'Always low prices' printed on each can." Clean Mean Energy has already experienced interests from many retailers, sports teams, and assorted Mom 'n Pop C-stores. The Dallas based team hopes Seven & I Holdings will realize the benefits in Japan where most canned beverages are sold in hand loaded vending machines and 7-11 shelves.
Besides the innovative "Clean Cap 'n Wrap" concept, the new brand is also the first canned drink in the world to show off the "Clean Mean Girls" which allows for actual photographs of the models on the sides of the can. Surely an added bonus for their targeted consumer of 15 to 25 year old males.
See the www.cleanmean.com web site for info.
Advercan's "Clean Cap" BioFilm can-top-label has been distributed at NACS, NBWA, INTERBEV, PACK EXPO, and sent to most of the major BevCo packaging companies. See www.ADVERCAN.com
The unique Clean Mean Energy packaging concept is protected by numerous copyrights, publications, and patent files. Licensing of this Intellectual Property is invited.

New Debit, Credit and Bank Cards Are Made of Recycled PVC
Paying with plastic took a green turn earlier this month with the new AB RecycledCard, a 100-percent recycled PVC product, introduced by Arthur Blank and Company, a Boston-based manufacturer of custom debit, credit, and bank cards.
Boston, MA -- Paying with plastic took a green turn earlier this month with the new AB RecycledCard, a 100-percent recycled PVC product, introduced by Arthur Blank and Company, a Boston-based manufacturer of custom debit, credit, and bank cards.
According to company spokesperson Suzanne d’Amonville, the new product also “closes the manufacturing loop” and eliminates waste. Using the overruns and other scraps generated from its traditional PVC card manufacturing process, the company supplies the feedstock to create new sheets, from which they punch out the AB RecycledCards.
D’Amonville explains that the off-white, speckled card is identical to traditional plastic cards in look, feel, and reliability. Writing in the Gift Card Newsletter, Leo Jakobson reports that Arthur Blank is the first volume card manufacturer to offer a wholly recycled product.
The AB RecycledCard is part of the company’s Green Line, developed in response to the general market trend towards environmentally friendly products. The other Green Line product is a card blank made entirely from corn.

Keltech Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of tankless water heater solutions has launched its new website at www.keltech-inc.com. Keltech’s Three New Online Tools Are:
1) Product Selection Guide (http://www.keltech-inc.com/product_guide.html)
2) Downloadable Product Spec Sheets in PDF format
