ADMET Introduces Low-Cost Digital Controller for Single Channel High Speed Cyclic Testing
ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, today announced the eP DS dynamic servo controller - a single channel high speed servo controller for use with fast-acting electro-mechanical and hydraulic mechanical testing machines.
Norwood, Mass. (PRWEB) June 29, 2007 -- ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, today announced the eP DS dynamic servo controller - a single channel high speed servo controller for use with fast-acting electro-mechanical and hydraulic mechanical testing machines. The eP DS is ideal for low-force cyclic testing of medical devices, biomaterials, and plastics, as well as higher force component testing.
The eP DS is a low cost alternative to Microsoft Windows/PC-based dynamic servo controllers. It features a user programmable PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) digital filter with sampling rates that exceed 1kHz. The operator can program square, ramp and triangular waveforms plus change the control gains and waveform endpoints on the fly. The user can also activate amplitude control which automatically adjusts the end points to assure that they are met. WinCOM Live, an optional LabVIEW-based program, enables users to view real-time waveforms on a computer. It can also save raw data to a computer disk.
"The eP DS satisfies requests that we've had from customers asking for an inexpensive, easy-to-setup and easy-to-use digital controller for high speed cyclic testing," explained Richard Gedney, ADMET founder and president. "We group it with compatible DC servo motors/drives or hydraulic servovalves to create a tightly integrated testing system that delivers reliable results."
The eP DS features a four-line by 20-character display for indicating cycle count, minimum and maximum values plus error conditions. A 24-key tactile keypad is used for entering test parameters. The eP DS includes AC/DC signal conditioning and also accepts quadrature encoder inputs.
The eP DS digital controller is available immediately directly from ADMET and through ADMET representatives. Pricing starts at $3,995. Full specifications are available at: http://www.admet.com/digitalIndicators.htm
