Ergotron's M&E Operation Showcased by Chinese Government Recognizing Fast Development of Industry
Ergotron, the global leader in computer and video display mounting equipment, announced its manufacturing facility in Southern China (Min Aik Ergotron Precision Technology Co., Ltd., M&E) was showcased by the local government in the Dongguan ShiJie Investment Guide. A total of ten factories were featured in this year's guide out of over 65,000 factories that exist in the greater Dongguan area.
St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) August 31, 2007 -- Ergotron, the global leader in computer and video display mounting equipment, announced its manufacturing facility in Southern China (Min Aik Ergotron Precision Technology Co., Ltd., M&E) was showcased by the local government in the Dongguan ShiJie Investment Guide. A total of ten factories were featured in this year's guide out of over 65,000 factories that exist in the greater Dongguan area.
The investment guide is an official government publication used as a promotional piece for potential manufacturers interested in investing in or setting up operations in China. The M&E operation was highlighted as one of the high growth manufacturers in the "fast development of industry" category.
Ergotron established the joint venture in China with Taiwan based Min Aik in 2004 to leverage world class competitiveness and to better serve its international customers. Located in ShiJie town, Dongguan City, Guangdong, China, the manufacturing facility is solely dedicated to world class manufacturing and distribution of Ergotron products.
The Dongguan facility is staffed by an international team of senior management with many years of successful Asia manufacturing and engineering expertise. The facility follows stringent in-process test and audit processes, 100% end-of-line functional test, cosmetic inspection and life-cycle /reliability testing on each production lot, ensuring the highest quality on all products.
"Our growth has been fueled in large part by ensuring our facility in China is always focused on product quality and 'best practices' in personnel management and production processes," explained Dan Miller, Senior Vice President of Operations for Ergotron. "We have committed and productive people, continuously refined processes and high quality products as a result. We are committed to being a leading employer in the area, working closely with the local Government on environmental and employee care initiatives as they evolve. The Dongguan operation--through the commitment of the employees--has helped enable us to become the industry leader in mounting solutions."
In early 2007, Ergotron became majority owner of the M&E joint venture by acquiring 51% ownership of the manufacturing facility, in partnership with Min Aik Technology Co., Ltd., of Taiwan, who now owns 49%. This ownership structure enables Ergotron to continue its innovative approach and remain the industry leader in display mounting and healthcare solutions. "We have had a successful partnership with Min Aik since 2002, and we look forward to that continuing and mutually beneficial relationship," said Mr. Miller.
"Now that we are majority owner of M&E, we will be able to strengthen our commitment to China and foster our growth strategy of expanding into emerging markets," explained Joel Hazzard, President and CEO of Ergotron. "Asia represents tremendous opportunity for Ergotron and this investment positions us for even greater growth."

(PRWEB) August 30, 2007 -- Profiles International announced today a special promotion for companies wanting to improve the quality of their hiring decisions. For a limited time, Profiles is inviting these companies to try a free online assessment with an existing employee or job candidate. This offer is part of Profiles' effort to help organizations increase the effectiveness of their employment hiring practices and improve employee engagement.
In response to a recently released statistic -- nearly 66 percent of all hires do not meet expectations -- Profiles International is going beyond just explaining the benefits of job matching to actually showing companies how they can improve their hiring odds.
"Profiles International specializes in understanding and objectively measuring competencies, behaviors and interests of employees to insure applicants fit the job the first time," explains Jim Sirbasku, CEO, "When the wrong employee is hired for the wrong job, it leads to an unengaged worker and that is bad for everyone in organization."
Workforce engagement is fast becoming a crisis in many corporations today with up to 80 percent of workers not actively engaged in their jobs. This crisis can result in high employee turnover and, ultimately, impact the overall financial health of a company.
Through a tremendous amount of research, Profiles International has found the first step in addressing employee engagement is to ensure you have the right person in the right job. From there, Profiles International has helped many organizations utilizing Profiles' employment assessments (known to some as employee tests) and job matching to increase their probability of successfully hiring the right candidate from 14 to more than 75 percent.
Mr. Sirbasku continued, "Using job matching to align people and jobs is a positive thing for everyone. It should be a standard part of every hiring and employee evaluation process."
Employers can request a free online job match assessment today by visiting the Profiles International Free PXT Employment Assessment Offer.

New Motor Shaft Grounding Ring Comes in Halves for Simplified Installation on Coupled Equipment
The new split-ring version of the AEGIS SGR Bearing Protection Ring™ comes in halves for easy field installation with little or no disassembly of equipment. For VFD-controlled AC and DC motors, the SGR Split Ring protects bearings from electrical damage caused by circulating or shaft currents, dramatically extending motor life as well as preventing bearing noise, downtime, and costly motor repairs/replacements.
Mechanic Falls, ME (PRWEB) August 30, 2007 -- The new split-ring version of the AEGIS SGR Bearing Protection Ring™ comes in halves for easy field installation with little or no disassembly of equipment. For VFD-controlled AC and DC motors, the SGR Split Ring protects bearings from electrical damage caused by circulating or shaft currents, dramatically extending motor life as well as preventing bearing noise, downtime, and costly motor repairs/replacements. Additional information on bearing protection is available at www.est-aegis.com.
The SGR Split Ring simplifies predictive/preventive maintenance programs for motor repair shops, maintenance contractors, HVAC service contractors, and in-house plant maintenance departments. Unlike conventional shaft grounding brushes, the ring is maintenance-free and lasts for the life of the motor, regardless of RPM. Its conductive microfibers work with virtually no friction or wear; are unaffected by dirt, grease, or other contaminants. The SGR Split Ring is available from stock with mounting hardware in sizes to accommodate motor shafts up to 6" in diameter, and larger rings can be specially ordered.
When used to control motor speed, a variable frequency drive (VFD) induces currents on the motor shaft which discharge through bearings, causing fusion craters on bearing race walls. Over time, this can lead to noise, vibration, bearing failure, and catastrophic motor failure. The SGR Split Ring prevents bearing damage by channeling shaft currents to ground. Conductive microfibers in the ring provide the path of least resistance, allowing these shaft currents to discharge safely to the motor frame.

Weather- and Hurricane-Proofing a House with Through the Roof® from Sashco Helps Prevent Unnecessary Damage
In the wake of dangerous flooding and on the heels of another impending winter and hurricane season, homeowners and contractors alike should prepare their homes early by sealing rooftop items with Through the Roof® from Sashco, to help keep them in tact during severe weather.
Brighton, CO (Vocus/PRWEB ) August 30, 2007 -- Another year of imminent severe winter weather and hurricanes means now is the time for homeowners and housing contractors to prepare their homes. Consecutive years of treacherous weather have devastated areas all across the country.
In preparation for severe weather, contractors and homeowners should walk around the entire roof area to identify any potential problem areas. Areas to look for include:
Skylights, skylight tubes, and roof vents
Nail holes
Lose or missing shingles, tiles, or shakes
Broken or cracked gutters
Damage, holes, or gaps in metal flashing
If these areas are identified, generously apply Through the Roof® clear roof sealant and seal firmly.
Through the Roof® is a clear roof sealant from Sashco Sealants that keeps homes in tact regardless of the weather conditions. Severe weather brings to mind images of blown shingles strewn across yards, and water leaking into the house from the rooftop. Through the Roof® was introduced to offer an alternative to black roof asphalt which can’t endure severe weather changes. Through the Roof® is formulated to perform under the harshest conditions and decrees the odds that roofs will fall prey to damage this winter.
“Wind gusts and severe weather changes put roofs in constant motion. Because asphalt roof repairs dry hard, they can’t handle the degree of movement weather changes cause and result in cracks that allow leaks to return. Through the Roof® is different. Through the Roof® never hardens. Because it stays elastic and flexible, the product will never crack, making it perfect for use on roofs in the most severe climates. Through the Roof® is an ideal solution for homes in hurricane areas. Aggressive adhesion seals roof top items tightly for a permanent seal,” explains Andy Spolestra, a chemist at Sashco.
Unlike asphalt, Through the Roof® can be applied to wet surfaces, an additional benefit for those in wet, rainy climates. Now, homeowners and contractors don’t have to wait for a dry, sunny day to repair a leaky roof; Through the Roof® will stick immediately to a wet roof so it can be repaired right when the leak is identified.
A store owner in the Northeast explains that, “During a rainstorm, our roof was leaking badly. One of our guys went up and applied the brush grade Through the Roof®. Even on the wet roof, it sealed up the leak immediately. To this day it’s still holding up and we’re still reaping the benefits of how well Through the Roof® works.”
Through the Roof® is not only tough, it’s beautiful. Nobody wants areas of ugly, black roof asphalt blemishing the appearance of their beautiful home every time the roof has a leak, a shingle needs to be repaired, or the flashing needs to be sealed. Through the Roof® clear roof sealant is a smart alternative to messy, black asphalt - perfect for custom tile and shake roofs.
Through the Roof® is made of a clear, UV resistant, synthetic rubber-based material that can be applied to most any rooftop material including:
Galvanized metal and aluminum flashing vents, downspouts, copper and brass
PVC and ABS vent pipe
Neoprene and plastic pipe flashing
Brick, block and mortar
Acrylic and polycarbonate skylight plastics
Roofing Materials Fiberglass / asphalt shingles
Cedar shakes, plywood and OSB
Water-based acrylic roof coatings
Cement, slate and glazed tiles
Asphalt roof cement and patch
Through the Roof® is available in a 10 oz. cartridge size that fits any standard caulking gun, as well as quart and gallon size brushable grade.
For more information about Through the Roof® and other Sashco products, visit www.sashco.com, or call 1-800-289-7290.

An Alarming 75% of Employees Do Not Take Earned Time Off
FPC Workplace Web Poll Data indicates that only 25 % of employees polled nationwide always take their allotted time off each year. "Numerous articles have been written about how this new generation is more focused on work-life balance but the fact is that people are still feeling immense pressure to spend time at work..." said FPC CEO & President Ron Herzog.
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 30, 2007 -- FPC Workplace Web Poll Data indicates that only 25 % of employees polled nationwide always take their allotted time off each year.
FPC, a national executive search firm, anonymously polls job candidates visiting www.fpcnational.com on their perspective on workplace issues. This latest data from the FPC Workplace Web Poll indicates that the nations' employees are not enjoying the time off they've earned throughout the year.
Of 1042 respondents across all industries and job levels answering the question "With respect to my time off from work I…"
25% "…always take my allotted time off."
37% "…take time off if I have something to do but do not monitor the days I use."
33% "…do not take the full time allotted but without a particular reason."
5% "… work through the vacation time to get the extra money."
There is a difference in the time-off behavior between the Entry and Mid-level employees' versus Managerial, Director, VP and other Executive Level employees. In answer to the question, "With respect to my time off from work I…" 29% of the 472 Entry or Mid-level respondents answered that they "do not take the full time allotted but without a particular reason." Compared to 36% of the 559 Managers, Directors, VP's and other Executive Level respondents.
Another difference between the two groups is how many of them "…work through the vacation to get the extra money." 9% of Entry or Mid-level respondents vs. only 2% of Manager, Director, VP and Other Executive respondents take this approach to their earned vacation.
Even given this difference in the desire to earn the unused-vacation income based on job level, there is little variation in vacation behavior based on income-level:
Of 919 respondents earning less than 100k answering the question "With respect to my time off from work I…"
25% "…always take my allotted time off."
36% "…take time off if I have something to do but do not monitor the days I use."
33% "…do not take the full time allotted but without a particular reason."
6% " ...work through the vacation time to get the extra money."
Of 125 respondents earning greater than 100k answering the question "With respect to my time off from work I…"
27% "…always take my allotted time off."
39% "…take time off if I have something to do but do not monitor the days I use."
30% "…do not take the full time allotted but without a particular reason."
3% "...work through the vacation time to get the extra money."
"Even though a study by salary.com noted that human resources executives reported that time off is now among the top 3 concerns with new hires, the FPC study shows that even though they negotiated to get the option to take the time off, they are not actually taking it." said FPC CEO & President Ron Herzog. "Numerous articles have been written about how this new generation is more focused on work-life balance but the fact is that people are still feeling immense pressure to spend time at work. A previous FPC web poll showed that people were spending their vacation time on work emails and voicemails, and now it seems they are not even taking the vacation."

Varsity Logistics and SYSTIME Form Partnership to Better Address the Supply Chain Management Needs of Oracle JD Edwards/IBM® System i Users
Varsity Logistics (www.varsitylogistics.com), the leader in integrated shipping/transportation management solutions for the IBM System i platform, and SYSTIME, a global business solutions provider, today announced a new partnership focused on making high-performance, high-ROI supply chain management solutions more accessible to companies that run Oracle JD Edwards and routinely ship goods.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2007 -- Varsity Logistics, Inc., the leader in integrated shipping/transportation management solutions for the IBM® System i platform, and SYSTIME, a global business solutions provider and the third largest JD Edwards practice worldwide, today announced a new co-marketing partnership focused on making high-performance, high-ROI supply chain management solutions more accessible to companies in North America that run Oracle JD Edwards and routinely ship physical goods. SYSTIME has chosen to work more closely with Varsity in order to ensure that its clients better understand and have access to a full range of shipping/transportation management solutions that can mitigate rising costs, improve business performance and secure customer satisfaction within a very short, multi-month timeframe.
Rising fuel and transportation costs and increasing shipping and supply chain complexity are driving more and more companies (large and small) to upgrade their capabilities to manage and optimize shipping processes and outcomes. The area of shipping and transportation management is increasingly being recognized as a missing link in the supply chain management process and the order-to-cash business cycle. Transportation carrier alternatives and trading partner compliance requirements have become so complex and dynamic that shipping and transportation can become a costly bottleneck and source of customer dissatisfaction, if not properly managed.
Varsity's ShipSoft™ modular solution suite for the System i allows U.S. based shippers to optimally plan, execute and control their shipment flow through a complete range of parcel and freight shipping alternatives. Varsity's solutions enable end-to-end shipping process and data integration not only within a shipper's enterprise, but also across external transportation carriers, customs and other regulatory agencies and the shipper's customers/trading partners themselves. Varsity's solutions are already implemented and proven at significant numbers of JD Edwards user companies in the manufacturing, wholesale and retail sectors.
"We are very honored to team-up with a premier service specialist like SYSTIME to bring additional value to the JD Edwards/IBM® System i base. SYSTIME shares our long-standing commitment to high value, integrated IT/business solutions and uncompromising customer support," reported Andrew Karpie, Senior Director of Business Development at Varsity Logistics. The Cat's Meow of Fast Package Printing Partners with Waukesha All Temp Storage
CL&D Digital aligns with cold storage company, caters to food manufacturers with products that must be refrigerated or frozen while packaged.
Delafield, WI (PRWEB) August 29, 2007 -- CL&D Digital, a short-run, quick-delivery printer of consumer goods products packaging and labels for sales samples, prototypes, and comps has aligned with Waukesha All Temp Storage, LLC, a full-service, state-of-the-art warehousing and distribution company specializing in the storage and handling of food and pharmaceutical products. CL&D Digital, 'the cat's meow of fast package printing,' now extends their expertise and services to provide manufacturers of refrigerated and frozen foods with the cold temperature packaging facilities they need to maintain product quality from inception through consumption.
In addition to digital printing and packaging dry goods including food, candy, coffee, sundries, and personal care items since 1995, CL&D Digital can now oversee the packaging of refrigerated foods in a consistent 38 degree-temperature warehouse, or frozen foods in zero degree-temperature warehouse, both within over 600,000 cubic feet of state-of-the-art, ASI-certified space. CL&D Digital and Waukesha All Temp Storage are both certified by The American Sanitation Institute (ASI) for food contact packaging and non-food contact packaging.
About CL&D Digital and digital package printing
Bob Scherer, Vice President of CL&D Digital, is a respected conference speaker and contributor to industry trade journals on the subject of digital technology and digital package printing. In 1995 along with two partners, Scherer established CL&D Digital as one of the first packaging printers to use Hewlett-Packard (HP)/Indigo digital printing technology. The company's customers - including many Fortune 500 consumer products manufacturers - count on CL&D Digital's full production run quality for their package and label sales samples, prototypes, and comps.
Digital printing can help a manufacturer avoid the high costs and long lead times associated with conventional printing. Depending on the quantity and number of colors, digital printing can cost up to half as much as conventional printing - in part because digital printing is achieved direct from the computer without plating. Digital printing can allow for less waste and storage, too, by printing only the quantity needed. It can also provide the flexibility of showing different versions of the same packaging at minimal cost, which offers the capability of moving a product into niche markets once deemed too cost prohibitive.

(PRWEB) August 29, 2007 -- Jieh Hong has striven for new technology in filling and packaging machinery for many years. "Three in One Unit-Bottle Rinsing Filling Capping Machine" brings customers an excellent choice for a beverage turnkey solution. Jieh Hong continues to offer their service to Southeast Asia, The Middle East and Africa.
Jieh Hong was established in 1991 as a beverage machinery manufacturer. Having worked with well known beverage companies and as a member of Taiwan Turnkey-Project Association, Jieh Hong has been regarded as a well-experienced team for turnkey projects from case analysis, solution design, installation service, to technical support and operator training. Its turnkey services include Hot filling line for PET containers, Mineral water filling line, Hot filled line for can containers, Carbonated drink filling line, Wine filling line.
"To pay attention to the details in design, every turnkey project is conducted by a group of three or four experienced personnel who follow it from a single machine to integrated production line. It streamlines the production process so our customers can expect the best." Sales Manager Liang Yu Chen said.
According to a long-standing cooperation with components suppliers, all products are manufactured under an ISO9001 control system. Jieh Hong's high quality products include Auto De-Palletizer, Bottle Rinsing / Filling / Capping machine, Bottle Inverter for Cap sterilization, Cooling or Warming Tunnel, Labeling Machine, Shrink Film Wrapper & Shrink Tunnel, Case Packer, Stretch Film Wrapper, etc.
"Our Three in One Unit Bottle Rinsing Filling Capping Machine is a good choice to increase manufacturing effectiveness and sanitation requirement," Mr. Chen said.
When the 'Three in One-Bottle Rinsing Filling Capping Machine was invented by Jieh Hong and Shanghai Triown Company this year, it was regarded as a new development in the market. Equipped with a unique bottle neck holder and air conveyor, this machine can effectively reduce the possibility that the bottles might be deformed by high temperature in hot filling process and can change various bottle sizes without height adjustment. The advanced Human Interface can make operations easier and also display error massages for the operator.
Auto De-Palletizer can stack the pallets automatically, which leads to savings in manpower and effective transportation. It is also operated with a frequency inverter in order to reduce the possibility of bottle damage. Auto De-Palletizer is also equipped with automatic cardboard pile-on and take-out. This feature can resolve inconvenience of manual operation and is easy for forklift carrying.
"Case packing equipment can adapt to a wide range of bottles, and do so quickly and easily during frequent changeovers," Mr. Chen recommended. The Jieh Hong case packer adapts to different bottle sizes and shapes, as well as to different case sizes in term of wrap-around or tray packing adjustment. Its touch-screen operator interface makes quick changeovers possible and indexing transmission effectively control packing accuracy.
More recommended products include the Auto Sleeve Labeling Machine & Shrink Tunnel. It also handles various container specifications with cylinder and multi-bottle design. Through high temperature steam or electro thermal system, the machine can make labels perfectly fit on bottles. Due to high quality product assurance, all components are either from Europe, Japan or Taiwan.

Nanovations Pty Ltd is introducing a product that is a break through in concrete and masonry protection technology.
Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) August 29, 2007 -- Common surface sealants for concrete and masonry tend to wear off and be subject to weathering and abrasion, and need regular re-applications. Now Nanovations Pty Ltd is introducing a product that is a new revolutionary concept in concrete and masonry protection technology.
The product, known as 3001, is simply added to the concrete or masonry during the mixing process, providing it with water repellent properties and outstanding protection from efflorescence (the formation of white powder on the surface of the concrete), salt damages, and moss and algal growth.
3001 significantly reduces rising damp, thereby preventing paint bubbling and lifting of exposed surfaces. It also results in masonry being more stain resistant, by significantly reducing the ingress of liquid water and any dissolved salts and dirt that the water may carry. It also protects colored concrete products from unsightly discolorations.
3001 protects pavers used in coastal areas or near swimming pools from salt and chlorine damage. Concrete with added 3001 is water vapor permeable. However, after the normal curing time, the concrete or masonry product has a significantly lower water absorption rate than that of untreated concrete.
The bulk impregnation for complete concrete parts, pavers and masonry or roof tiles can't be worn off like surface treatments.
Surface abrasion and high traffic which usually wears off any sealer will not affect the treatment and the function.
Concrete treated with 3001 is also frost/thaw resistant, which makes it especially suitable for climates with severe winters including North America, and northern Europe and Asia.
Because of Nanovations 3001's mass impregnation technology, common water repellent surface sealants are no longer required. In addition, concrete additives for salt resistance and the prevention of efflorescence can be avoided. Unlike common surface sealants, 3001 requires no re-application, saving considerable expense and inconvenience.
"3001 is completely water-based and VOC free," says Harry Stulajter, Director of Nanovations. "This is the long awaited technology to avoid millions of gallons of polluting solvents currently used in penetrating sealers. The product has been tested for salt resistance, efflorescence, water absorption and frost/thawing behavior."
Nanovations welcomes enquiries from concrete, pavers and masonry manufacturers, as well as concrete mould producers and any professional organizations involved in the industry.

Hawker 900XP Earns Type Certification
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) achieved certification of the newest aircraft in the Hawker family, the Hawker 900XP on August 24, 2007.
Wichita, Kan. (Vocus/PRWEB ) August 29, 2007 -- Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) achieved certification of the newest aircraft in the Hawker family, the Hawker 900XP on August 24, 2007. The aircraft is the latest evolution of the world’s best-selling, mid-size Hawker 800-series. It is part of a strategically planned sequence of upgrades for the Hawker fleet of airplanes.
"The Hawker 900XP is the perfect combination of new engine power and efficiency with a leading class airframe," said Jim Schuster, chairman and CEO. "Significant improvements in fuel efficiency, range, hot and high altitude takeoff performance and reduced cost of operations will ensure that it remains the world’s best selling mid-size jet."
The Hawker 900XP launches Honeywell’s new TFE731-50R engine exhibiting improved hot and high altitude performance. At 5,000 feet airport elevation with ISA+20 Celsius, the engine produces 3,970 pounds of thrust, a 4.5 percent improvement over the 850XP’s 3,800 pounds of thrust. Engine temperature ratings at sea level are 19 percent better for NTO and 15 percent better for APR. Major Periodic Inspections (MPI) and Compressor Zone Inspections (CZI) will increase from 2,100/2,400 hours to 3,000/6,000 having a positive impact on engine cost of operations.
Long range cruise improves to almost 2,800 nautical miles NBAA IFR range with six passengers allowing it to make a non-stop flight from New York to anywhere on the West Coast 99.9 percent of the time. At high speed cruise, range improves from 2,111 nautical miles in the new Hawker 850XP to 2,307 nautical miles in Hawker 900XP. Departing from a 5,000 foot runway at ISA+15 degrees Celsius, sea level, at high speed cruise, the Hawker 900XP requires 611 feet less runway and range improves by more than 400 nautical miles; for example a flight from Hilton Head to Aspen. Departure from an airport at 5,000 field elevation at ISA+20 degrees Celsius requires 1,767 feet less runway and provides 611 nautical miles more range, making a flight from Aspen to Miami quite easily.
Operators will also see lower cost of operations as a result of the efficiencies of the new Honeywell TFE731-50R engines resulting in five percent lower fuel burn and 10 percent lower engine maintenance costs on MSP enrolled engines. Thus, total direct operating costs will be reduced five percent and cost per nautical mile drops six percent.
The Hawker 900XP has the same cabin size as the Hawker 800-series, the largest and most successful cabin in its class. Featuring a factory-customized interior by HBC’s Little Rock Completion Center, and HBC designed winglets, the 900XP is well positioned to continue to be the most preferred airplane in the mid-size segment.
At a 2007 typically-equipped price of $14.3 million, deliveries of the Hawker 900XP will begin in September and foreign certifications are already being pursued.
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation is the world’s leading business, special-mission and trainer aircraft manufacturer – designing, marketing and supporting aviation products and services for businesses, governments and individuals worldwide. The company’s headquarters and major facilities are located in Wichita, Kan., with operations in Salina, Kan.; Little Rock, Ark.; and Chester, England, U.K. The company leads the industry with a global network of over 100 factory-owned and authorized service centers.

Pros Share Insights on Successful Job Search Model
Borden Elliott Pierce has developed a highly successful job search strategy, featuring unique technology along with networking and resume strategies to accelerate the job search process.
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) August 29, 2007 -- Borden Elliott Pierce has developed a highly successful job search strategy, featuring unique technology along with networking and resume strategies to accelerate the job search process.
Borden Elliott & Pierce offers job seekers key tips for more effective networking; resume development for the current job market; a improved strategies for maximizing the candidates value to an organization.
Borden Elliott Pierce is a Florida based professional career management and career marketing firm. Their online real time networking resources assist their clients to maximize job opportunities in today's competitive market. A spokesperson for the company said, "We previously announced plans to upgrade the online system, and we are on schedule to have this completed before the end of the year." Recognized authorities on career transition for over a decade, Borden Elliott Pierce has assisted hundreds of jobseekers.
Borden Elliott & Pierce says a resume is not enough any more, and may become less and less important for the savvy job seeker; although it may be so pervasively paradigmatic that it will always be a part of the employment/search process.
Only a few percent of the jobs currently available are posted on the Internet, and there are over 30 million resumes currently online. "It is like looking for a needle in a huge and highly competitive haystack of job seekers. The fact is, most jobs are filled by research and networking."
A spokesperson for the Borden Elliott Pierce added "The challenge is how to identify the companies who are in the growth mode, management change mode, expansion mode, in growing and profitable industries, who are not necessarily advertising positions, where they often create, replace or fill positions when candidates get their attention. The job seeker must do their homework and then launch a strategic, proactive and targeted marketing campaign, with aggressive follow up. This is a powerful networking approach to identify significant career opportunities rather than having to settle for just a job." Doe Run Peru Begins Engineering on Third Sulfuric Acid Plant in La Oroya; New $71 Million Plant Expected to Help Further Reduce Emissions
Doe Run Peru said Monday it has begun the engineering design phase of a $ 71 million sulfuric acid plant for the copper circuit at the company's La Oroya metallurgical facility. The new plant, which is scheduled to be operational in late 2009, is expected to further reduce emissions at the La Oroya metallurgical complex and bring them well below governmental limits.
La Oroya, Peru (PRWEB) August 29, 2007 -- Doe Run Peru said Monday it has begun the engineering design phase of a $71 million sulfuric acid plant for the copper circuit at the company's La Oroya metallurgical facility. The new plant, which is scheduled to be operational in late 2009, is expected to further reduce emissions at the La Oroya metallurgical complex and bring them well below governmental limits.
Earlier this year Doe Run Peru announced that lead and arsenic emissions from the 80-year-old facility are down to within monthly Peruvian environmental guidelines.
The new plant is the third and final stage of the last of nine projects encompassed under Doe Run Peru's environmental operating agreement with the Peruvian government (known by its Spanish acronym, PAMA). Earlier stages of the sulfuric acid project included upgrades to the zinc circuit plant (completed at the end of 2006) and the construction of the lead circuit plant (begun in July 2007).
"Doe Run Peru continues to operate under agreed-upon timetables and remains committed to environmental awareness and operations that benefit the city and community of La Oroya," said Juan Carlos Huyhua, president and general manager of Doe Run Peru.
Construction on the new copper circuit plant is estimated to be completed by October 2009. Doe Run Peru's first steps on the effort have included contracting industry leaders Fleck Chemical Industries Inc. and Aker Kvaerner to look into the specific engineering requirements necessary for the project, including the necessary teams, design, materials, control systems and instrumentation.
So far, Doe Run Peru has invested more than $132 million on various environmental improvements, well in excess of the initial agreed-upon amount of $107.5 million. Once the PAMA projects are complete the company's related investment is expected to reach $244 million, nearly 2.4 times the initial figure.
About Doe Run Peru
Doe Run Peru is a mining and metals company operating in Peru's central Andes. The company has run the La Oroya metallurgical complex since 1997 and the Cobriza mine in Huancavelica since 1998, producing high quality refined metals while at the same time working to operate in a socially and environmentally responsible way.

"Think Pink" with Rembrandt Charms
"Wear a charm, show your support." October is breast cancer awareness month and Rembrandt Charms is asking consumers to wear a pink ribbon charm to show their support for breast cancer awareness and research.
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) August 29, 2007 -- "Wear a charm, show your support." October is breast cancer awareness month and Rembrandt Charms is asking consumers to wear a pink ribbon charm to show their support for breast cancer awareness and research.
Rembrandt Charms will run its "Pink Ribbon" campaign during the month of October, promoting the sale of the pink ribbon charm through retail jewelers. Rembrandt will donate ten percent of the annual net proceeds from the sale of its Breast Cancer Awareness charm to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In 2007 alone, an estimated 178,480 new cases of breast will die from breast cancer. An estimated 2,030 men will be diagnosed and 450 will die of breast cancer. "With the support of our jewelers, we are hoping to make this campaign an overwhelming success," states Christopher Lux, founder of Rembrandt Charms.
Over the years, Rembrandt's Story of Your Life contest has received thousands of entries, many of which are survivor stories written by those diagnosed or by friends and family members. The pink ribbon is a symbol for support, hope and survival, and holds special meaning in all of the stories:
"My only aunt is currently battling spinal cancer that metastasized from breast cancer. When my son was 9-months-old my mother underwent a lumpectomy. Breast cancer is a reality in my life; my family is living 'the power of pink' everyday," said Georgia Siebenaler, Perrysburg, OH.
"Six years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and my life was filled with uncertainty. I am happy to say that with my faith and the faith, hope and charity of my friends and loved ones, I am now a breast cancer survivor and I would be happy to mark that milestone with a breast cancer ribbon. My battle with cancer taught me to treasure the small things in life," said Debra Fisher, Harrisburg, PA.
"The breast cancer symbol represents my grandmother. She is very close to my boys and my husband and I. She has been a constant source of strength and love and is one of my favorite people. She has survived five surgeries due to breast cancer," said Danielle M. Ball, Zephyrhills, FL.
Rembrandt will dedicate the homepage of its website to the campaign during the month of October. Online guests will be invited to share their survivor stories, making them eligible to win a sterling silver bracelet with up to ten sterling charms. Please visit www.RembrandtCharms.com for details and to find a jeweler in your area.
"Breast cancer is a devastating disease," explains Lux. "Through courage, dedication and research we create hope for all those affected, reinforcing the belief that one day a cure will be found. We are proud to support such a worth-while cause."
Rembrandt Charms offers thousands of handcrafted charms, the world's largest collection, in sterling silver and karat gold. Jewelers have relied on Rembrandt Charms' superior quality for over 40 years.

Increased METTLER TOLEDO Lab Presence Supports Unique Culture/Industry Demand in Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico has one of the most dynamic economies in the Caribbean region, with industry as the primary sector of economic activity and income. Key island industries, including the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare products, and personal care product manufacturing continue to be major components of the Puerto Rican economy .
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) August 29, 2007 -- Puerto Rico has one of the most dynamic economies in the Caribbean region, with industry as the primary sector of economic activity and income. Key island industries, including the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare products, and personal care product manufacturing continue to be major components of the Puerto Rican economy .
To meet the demand for on-site local representation, the METTLER TOLEDO Laboratory products division increased local presence with the addition of Puerto Rico-based sales and service representative team. "We can better assist both our distributors and customers by creating a full-time, highly-trained sales and service presence on the island," notes Tom Butta, Business Unit Manager.
The effort to increase local presence began in 2005 and now, in 2007, the on-island team consists of a full-time Laboratory Sales Specialist for weighing, pH, titration, density, refractometry, and thermal analysis instrumentation, and two Field Service Technicians.
"We're able to take a more active role in ensuring that we support, protect and grow our brand in the eyes of our customers on a daily basis, as well as provide key regulatory and compliance services unique to their respective products and expertise," says Butta.
For customers, knowing that a product can be supported and serviced locally (as opposed to shipping off-island) by qualified and fully-trained METTLER TOLEDO factory sales and service representatives plays a significant role in the purchase and service provider decisions. "Puerto Rico has a unique business culture," says Service Team Manager Dave Cirullo, "The interaction between departments of different companies happens all of the time. Word spreads rapidly when you perform a good or poor job."
Although Puerto Rico is experiencing some of the slow-down felt in pharmaceuticals manufacturing, e.g.: plant losses and consolidation, the long-term outlook is positive. "The potential is there as long as the economic conditions of the Pharmaceutical industry support the objective, and Puerto Rico can enhance its competitive position with new focus on Biotech and similar sub-categories in the Pharma/Healthcare industries," says Butta.
The Industrial and Retail business areas also carry a METTLER TOLEDO presence on the island; these product lines are available through Mitel, Inc.
METTLER TOLEDO is a leading global supplier of precision instruments and is the world's largest manufacturer and marketer of weighing instruments for use in laboratory, industrial and food retailing applications. Benchmark Professional Careers Announces New Relationship
Benchmark Professional Careers gets complaints that recruiters do not respond when they get someone's resume; and recruiters complain that they simply don't have the time to respond to each resume.
Oakbrook Terrace, IL (PRWEB) August 28, 2007 -- Benchmark Professional Careers say complaints that recruiters cannot respond to every job seeker have prompted two companies to resolve that problem, providing a full range of services.
Benchmark Professional Careers gets complaints that recruiters do not respond when they get someone's resume; and recruiters complain that they simply don't have the time to respond to each resume. According to one source, "If recruiters took the time to respond to each resume, we'd spend all of our time responding and wouldn't have time to work on placements. Part of the problem is that most of the resumes we get for any given posting simply don't qualify for the job."
Benchmark Professional Careers (and select affiliates) have developed a relationship with Whitehall Price recruiting that might solve the problem brought on by complaints on both sides of this dilemma.
Whitehall sends an email response to each applicant that acknowledges their receipt of interest from the candidate. Within that email is an invitation to fill out their inquiry form. If the job seeker agrees to have information shared with a career marketing firm Whitehall will (if appropriate) forward the inquiry to Benchmark Professional Careers. "Complaints that we are not responding have already dropped," says Whitehall.
Benchmark Careers feel complaints about recruiter's lack of response will always exist. According to Benchmark Careers "The problem is that recruiters only find a job for one person at a time, even though they may get hundreds of resumes for the same job. They (recruiters) are not bad people just busy people. Facts are facts; unless a company is looking to fill a lot of positions at once (which seldom happens) it will always be the case that the recruiter will ultimately only get one candidate that job."
When asked what makes Benchmark Professional Careers different from recruiters? "Recruiters get a position to fill for a company and seek the one candidate out of many to fill that need. We work with our clients to approach companies. It's kind of like recruiting in reverse. We work with a client on approaching many companies, instead of a company seeking one prospective employee out of many."
