Intertek Offers Industrial Truck Certification
Manufacturers of forklifts, platform lift trucks and industrial trucks now have a choice in safety certification. Intertek is offering ETL listing to the ANSI/UL 558 Standard (Safety of Industrial Trucks, Internal Combustion Engine-Powered).
Boxborough, MA (PRWEB) March 31, 2008 -- Intertek, a global leader in product testing, inspection and certification, is now offering ETL listing to the ANSI/UL 558 Standard (Safety of Industrial Trucks, Internal Combustion Engine-Powered). These requirements cover the fire safety aspects of industrial trucks with internal-combustion engines, such as tractors, platform-lift trucks, fork-lift trucks, and other specialized vehicles for industrial use.
Specifically, the standard covers the following types of trucks:
Types G, D, LP, and G/LP - Trucks fueled with gasoline (G), diesel fuel (D), liquefied petroleum gas (LP), or either gasoline or liquefied petroleum gas (G/LP), having fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems provided with minimum acceptable fire safeguards.
Types GS, DS, LPS, and GS/LPS - Trucks fueled with gasoline (GS), diesel fuel (DS), or liquefied petroleum gas (LPS), or either gasoline or liquefied petroleum gas (GSLPS), provided with safeguards in addition to those required for Types G, D, LP, and GILP.
Type DY - Trucks fueled with diesel fuel (DY), provided with all safeguards required for Type DS, without any electrical equipment, including ignition equipment, and equipped with temperature limitation features.
