This significant progress shows Wise Center's strong determination to enhance its high efficiency working process, great quality products and considerate service for customers.

After conducting an extensive benchmarking survey of resumes, Palladian International identified several trends, including common mistakes most job seekers make.

Waynesboro, VA (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- For an active job seeker, their resume is one of the most important tools at their disposal. Long before the first interview, a job seeker needs to present their background, experience and potential in a one to two page document, and make that document count. Without a good resume, nothing happens.

After conducting an extensive study of resumes currently in use by job seekers, Palladian identified the following trends:

Format: One third of resumes utilize the wrong structure - either a chronological when a functional would do better or vice versa. The choice of structure can make a significant impact on the effectiveness of a resume.
Generic Objectives: Almost half of the objective statements did not provide any information on the job or industry that the job seeker was pursuing. Generic objective statements, such as the common "I want to utilize my skills and abilities to the benefit of my employer" serve no purpose and are, at best, a waste of space.
Accomplishments: 27% of job seekers provided no accomplishments and only 40% of job seekers provided three or more accomplishments for each job held. Most job seekers emphasized their responsibilities. Although responsibilities are important on a resume, they must be backed up by accomplishments. The average resume contained 2.5 accomplishments per position and 3.2 responsibilities per position.
Personal Information: When personal information, such as hobbies, interests and family status was provided, it very rarely related to the job seeker's career.
Grammar and Spelling: Very few resumes have a mistake. Less than 8% of the resumes surveyed contained a single spelling or grammatical error and less than 3% contained multiple errors.
Continuing Education: 77% of resumes included a list of continuing education activities that the job seeker had completed within the education section of their resume.
Employment Dates: Only half of the resumes provided both months and years for the start and end date of each position listed, leaving the other half of resumes missing key data most hiring managers want.
The 2008 Resume Benchmarking Survey is available for download on Palladian International's Career Resources website at www.palladiancr.com/survey.html. The 2008 Resume Benchmarking Survey evaluated resumes from active job seekers within three categories: Manufacturing Executives with more than 10 years of experience, Sales & Marketing Managers with more than 10 years of experience and recent college graduates entering the workforce.

DeWys Manufacturing, a west-Michigan based metal fabrication company announced that it is expanding in equipment and capacity

Marne, MI (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- DeWys Manufacturing, a west-Michigan based metal fabrication company announced that it is expanding in equipment and capacity. The company has purchased a PERformER+ ABT® compact panel bender from the Italy-base Salvagnini Group, renowned for its sheet metal technology. The unit will allow DeWys to better meet their customer's need for precision sheet metal bending.

"It's an amazingly flexible device," says Jon DeWys, President of DeWys Manufacturing, Inc. "The Salvagnini Compact Metal Bender lets us provide faster, more accurate metal fabrication for a wide variety of customers. This machine is what we call semi-automatic. While not fully automated, it requires far less operator interaction than a traditional brake-press."

With the Salvagnini Compact Metal Bender, notches in the sheet metal to be bent are aligned with mechanical stops. A computer-driven Sheet Manipulator then moves the part in and out of the bending area and rotates it by the exact angle required for correct bending by the universal bending tool. "It's amazing to see, says Jon DeWys. "The system moves the sheet automatically and makes a series of highly accurate bends. This is not only more accurate, it's safer for the operator." The system is extremely flexible, allowing bends to be negative and positive, single or multiple, radiuses or flattened, all within a single process.

What sets the Salvagnini Compact Metal Bender apart from the traditional brake-press is a computer-controlled range of technologies called ABT. With ABT, the machine continually checks and compensates for thermal expansion caused by environmental factors. It self-adjusts for the spring-back which occurs when processing sheet metal, based on the material being machined.

About DeWys
DeWys (pronounced De-Wise) Manufacturing provides precision metal fabrication to a range of clients from office furniture to mailboxes for the United States Postal Service. From its manufacturing facility in West Michigan, the company provides a wide range of production and assembly capabilities to more than 100 clients in Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and Ohio. (Vocus/PRWEB ) May 7, 2008 -- Hawker Beechcraft Acquisition Company, LLC (HBAC) reported continued strong market acceptance and demand for its products, resulting in net bookings of $1.1 billion during the three months ending March 30, 2008. This continued strong order activity resulted in a record backlog of $6.8 billion.

Net sales for the three months ending March 30, 2008 were $576.5 million. The company delivered 72 business and general aviation aircraft consisting of 20 jet, 29 turbo-prop and 23 piston aircraft. During the quarter, the company launched a reorganization of its Little Rock Hawker completions operations. This reorganization effort will support the increased aircraft completion volumes that are associated with the introduction of two new aircraft, the Hawker 750 and Hawker 4000, this year. These reorganization activities impacted the normal completion cycle for aircraft during the quarter, resulting in the delivery of five Hawker 900XP and one Hawker 850XP being shifted to the second quarter. HBAC’s trainer segment also delivered 17 T-6A aircraft to the US Government during the first quarter.

The company recorded an operating loss of $1.5 million for the quarter. The loss was the consequence of an $18.4 million charge related to early production Hawker 4000 aircraft. This resulted from an increase in the cost to conform the early aircraft to the final type design. Also included in the operating results were non-cash charges of $22.1 million resulting from increased depreciation and amortization expense due to step-up in the cost basis of long-term assets and from foreign currency derivative contracts, all incurred as a result of purchase accounting related to the acquisition of HBAC.

Operating cash consumed during the three months ending March 30, 2008 totaled $181.9 million. This resulted from a growth in inventory in connection with increased build rates and the delay in aircraft deliveries noted previously.

“While disappointed by this quarter’s operating results, we are still extremely excited about our record billings, increasing backlog and our position in the market,” said Jim Schuster, chairman and CEO of Hawker Beechcraft Corporation. “The end of the first quarter marks a tremendous first full year as Hawker Beechcraft, having solidified our future as the largest privately-held aircraft manufacturer in the world. We invested in new products, expanded infrastructure and added talented people – strategically positioning our brands for continued growth worldwide.”

Financial and other information for the three months ending March 30, 2008 is available on the Company’s Web site at www.hawkerbeechcraft.com. An earnings call will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 9:00 am CDT.

Earnings Conference Call:

MIAMI (Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) May 7, 2008 -- Ronald DeMeo, MD, MBA, president and chief executive officer with Radiation Shield Technologies (RST), today announced the company has been granted a new Australian patent for Demron, the world’s first nuclear radiation-blocking, anti-chemical and biological-protection material.

Demron, which also has other Australian, United States, Singaporean and Russian patents, is an advanced radiopaque nano-polymeric compound fused between layers of fabric and manufactured into several lightweight, nuclear-radiation blocking garments. Its new Australian patent secures all its applications, including full-body nuclear, biological, and nuclear-biological chemical (NBC) suits, tactical anti-nuclear vests, high-energy suppression blankets, medical X-ray vests and aprons. Its first Australian patent concerns the Demron compound and its manufacturing processes.

“The global demand and deployment of Demron exceeds our expectations and reaffirms its leadership as the only nuclear radiation-blocking material that also provides anti-chemical and biological protection,” said DeMeo, the surgeon who developed Demron. “Demron’s patents will help us expand its market potential, and we will continue to secure patents worldwide.”

Recent deployments include a NATO-funded purchase of a record number of Demron suits for use by the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus. Demron also is deployed worldwide by NATO, NASA, the National Guard, US Navy, UAE and the governments of South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia and Australia, among others. Scientists have selected it for space suits for future Mars and other space travel.

“Demron is a liquid metal that feels like fabric, and the suits are cool, lightweight and flexible,” DeMeo said. “Demron helps individuals more comfortably perform a broader range of duties and with the confidence of knowing they’re well-protected.”

Demron suits are made from a unique nanotechnology that surpasses the current NBC suits, which provide limited protection against radioactive sources. It is a lead-free, toxin-free, and PVC-free material that allows heat dissipation and resists chemical penetration and cracks. Demron has proved to block gamma rays and X-rays, as well as other nuclear emissions, by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, part of the National Nuclear Security Administration within the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

About Radiation Shield Technologies (RST)

Radiation Shield Technologies (RST), with headquarters in Miami, is a world leader in the research, design and production of personal-protection systems for ionizing and nuclear radiation. The company's core technology, Demron, is specifically engineered to combine radiation protection with ease of use to maximize radiological defense.
Swire Beverages, the largest Coca-Cola bottling and distribution franchise in Mainland China will employ more Profit Point infrastructure planning software licenses.

North Brookfield, MA (PRWEB) May 7, 2008 -- Profit Point today announced that its Profit Network™ infrastructure planning software, already in use for 3 years to optimize Swire Beverage's distribution network throughout China, will be expanded to cover the needs of the operations. Swire Beverages is an anchor bottling franchise of The Coca-Cola Company with bottling operations in 7 provinces in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and 10 states in the U.S. The Mainland China market is experiencing significant growth in demand for its products, which has in turn increased pressure on its bottling operations. Sales volume increased 20% in 2007 to exceed 500 million unit cases for Swire Beverages' Mainland China operations. The population in Swire's Mainland China territory is over 400 million. Swire will rely upon Profit Point's proven network optimization software to model infrastructure plans, test projected demand scenarios and maximize its return on infrastructure investments.

"Executing our Customer Service Policy is essential in Mainland China," said Douglas Holland, Swire's General Manager of Sales Operations in Mainland China. "Our infrastructure decisions must support the fast changing conditions in the marketplace. Our significant volume shifts by geography and by channel, create a daunting task for our operations to keep pace. And our distribution network design must be based upon clear visibility into our projected growth scenarios and the related impact on our distribution network. With our use of the tool Profit Network, we are able to develop least cost or most profit scenarios from our raw materials suppliers all the way through to our end retail outlets, including support for deciding when we should distribute our products via indirect channels, such as wholesalers and 3rd party distribution partners."

Profit Network is a robust application that helps decision maker optimize their supply chain for maximum profitability. The proven optimization tool is a stand-alone planning software package that is used to analyze the placement and location of production facilities, distribution centers, and warehouses over a multi-period planning horizon. The system is often used to help firms restructure their supply chains after mergers, periods of rapid growth and in anticipation of geographic or product preference shifts in the market.

"Infrastructure planning for a rapidly-growing operation like Swire is an extremely important process and involves significant mid and long-term investments," said Jim Piermarini, Profit Point's CEO. "The infrastructure solutions that we develop using Profit Network will allow Swire to make effective management decisions, reconfigure bottling operations as demand shifts, implement new business processes and realign resources."

Although the resource investments in value chain network design are significant, the return from an implementation of an optimized infrastructure study can be substantial. "We knew that the choices that we were making today will have a long-term impact on our business success, which is measured, both from a customer service level and cost perspective," said Holland. "Profit Point brings a compelling combination of optimization software and training experts which allow us to effectively manage the process and gain the greatest benefit from our network design. We initially selected and implemented Profit Network in 2005 focusing mostly on Distribution. Today and in the future we are adding more resources into the Profit Network enabled process to incorporate our entire value chain including manufacturing capacity planning, production line and plant locations."

Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) May 07, 2008 The new field-variable-focus infrared thermometry system (U. S. Patent No. 7,355,168) --the Vario-Therm -- will be on display at Sensors Exposition & Conference from June 9-11, 2008, by Everest Interscience. Sensors Expo is being held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. The fixed-mounted http://www.everestinterscience.com/products/app/variozoom.htm [Vario-Therm Series 6000 infrared temperature sensors combine the first infrared thermometry (IRT) system capable of both varying the focus of the infrared temperature sensor and identifying the exact target area where a surface temperature measurement is being taken.

The new optical system by Everest Interscience provides the first field-variable-focus IRT system capable of visible identification of the target area. S. Patent No. 4,494,881). With this system, the exact location and dimensions of the target area under test are precisely identified. This is true not only under static conditions but also under variable imaging conditions, which may result when re-focusing the infrared sensor.

The invention of the field-variable-focus IRT system to be shown at Sensors Expo 2008 arose from a long-time need in the field of infrared thermometry. Other conventional infrared thermometers (IRT's) have been unable to precisely align the infrared sensor on the target and identify the exact target area being measured.

Hand-held infrared thermometers that also employ the Vario-Zooom sighting system and the Intra-Optical Through-The-Lens (TTL/SLR) targeting system will also be exhibited at Sensors Expo. These instruments include the AGRI-THERM II nfrared thermometers which are Differential Infrared Thermometers that can measure the surface temperature of the target, the ambient air dry bulb temperature and the difference between them. These instruments have been used extensively for measurements in the Natural Environment Sciences.

Metso will embed Birdstep's latest release of RDM Server embedded database to provide true transactional support and high-availability for IMAS users bringing fault-tolerance to their IMAS - Integrated Mill-Wide Analysis System.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 7, 2008 - Birdstep Technology (OSE: BIRD), which offers state of the art embedded database technologies, today announced that Metso Automation USA, Inc. has selected Birdstep's RDM Server v8.0 to bring fault-tolerance to their IMAS - Integrated Mill-Wide Analysis System, including modules Advanced Quality Control Solution for Thermo-Mechanical Pulping (AQC Solution for TMP) and Sensor Reconsiliation.

"Our pulp and paper mill customers use our solutions to make sure production targets are met at the highest levels of quality with the lowest variability and production costs, says Daniel Cloutier, Metso Business Manager TMP and RCF Solutions, "We needed complete transactional support from our data management solution without sacrificing performance and without having to license a technologies that would raise our production costs. Birdstep's RDM Server product met these objectives".

Metso Project Manager for TMP and RCF Solutions, Devin Cole explains, "Metso IMAS Sensor Reconsiliation component will expand beyond servicing pulp and paper mills to include energy companies. As we expand our market we must maintain the highest level of processing speed critical to maintain real-time access". Devin continues, "We must also provide standard interfaces critical for SQL queries and web reporting. Birdstep's RDM Server database flexibility allows us to combine the use of a low-level native API for speed along with an industry standard SQL interface to meet our ease-of-use reporting expectations from our customers."

"As we consulted with Metso, we saw a major emphasis being put on eliminating any risk of corruption and, at the same time, being able to maintain the highest degree of performance along with supporting industry standards for reporting, said Duncan Bates, VP of Product Management for Birdstep, "We also saw the importance of being able to replicate to multiple servers to achieve fault-tolerance. RDM Server v8.0 delivered the transactional safety their customers require, kept performance at an optimal level, and allowed them to achieve piece-of-mind that their data would be kept replicated and in-sync should any system interrupt occur."

"If you look at where Birdstep is headed with our entire database portfolio, our roadmap is all about enabling our customers to manage data most efficiently, access data quickly, and protect the accuracy of that data", states Steinar Sande, CEO of Birdstep's Database Division. Steinar explains, "We are committed to providing our customers database solutions that offer unmatched flexibility and data reliability so they can deliver market leading products."
