Can You Explain Your Business?
Think it rare that business owners, government workers or agencies have difficulty explaining their business, work or purpose? Think again!
(PRWEB) April 29, 2022 -- Can you explain your business to others? If not, redefine your mission and vision statements says leadership trainer Stan Hakes.
Think it rare that business owners, government workers, or agencies have difficulty explaining their business, work, or purpose? Think again!
"Mission and vision statements are a critical part of leadership training" says Stan Hakes, President of Illuminative Concepts in southern California, "and a major component of a business management system. It is essential for a single proprietor, small business or government agency - all need to understand, define or perhaps update their mission and vision statements."
"One client I worked with said she felt scattered explaining her business to people" Hakes said. "After writing her mission and vision statements she began to focus; she dropped six or seven previously used statements on her business and narrowed them to three or four key areas that fit together."
The significance plays out in Fortune 500 companies as well. A Wall Street Journal article reported ona study conducted by Stanford University which showed 18 visionary companies who used mission and vision statements as the basis for their goals and objectives outperformed a control group of companies by a factor of six to one, based on earnings.
A survey referenced in Jay Levinson's "Guerrilla Marketing" shows the number one reason for any venture's failure is not competition, the trade, recession, a failure of creativity or a shortage of ideas. It's the leader, the honcho, the chief, the top banana. A whopping 63% report that top management at their companies do not have a clear strategic vision.
"Mission and vision statements help you and others to clearly see where you want to take your business or product and lay the foundation for strategic actions that can turn your business or product ideas and dreams into reality" says Don Midgett, author of "Mission and Vision Statements: Your Path To A Successful Business Future."

Heartland Oil & Gas (OTCBB: HOGC - News) has been rated "Speculative/3" by Investrend Research analyst David G. Tildesley, CFA, in a Benchmark research report, saying the company "has 853,000 acres of undeveloped land located near gathering pipelines, which were valued at $ 35.6 million at the end of 2004."
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 29, 2022 -- Investrend Research Syndicate: Heartland Oil & Gas (OTCBB: HOGC - News) has been rated "Speculative/3" by Investrend Research analyst David G. Tildesley, CFA, in a Benchmark research report, saying the company "has 853,000 acres of undeveloped land located near gathering pipelines, which were valued at $ 35.6 million at the end of 2004."
The analyst stated:
"Heartland Oil & Gas Inc. is an early stage exploration company involved in the drilling for Coal Bed Methane in the Forest City Basin of Kansas. The future value of the company will be determined by the magnitude of its ultimate exploration success over the next few years.
"Heartland has drilled 94 wells including 77 Coal Bed Methane Wells in eight pilots that are currently dewatering or venting gas. During 2005, Heartland will continue to evaluate the coal bed methane on its properties. It is anticipated that 15 wells will be completed and 16 new wells will be drilled. The total cost is estimated to be $ 3.1 million, which is well covered by available cash.
"The outcome of the drilling program is as yet unknown. But the company has a strong and experienced management team in place.
"While the shares are speculative, Heartland does have a strong balance sheet with no long-term debt liability as well as more than sufficient cash to carry it through 2005 and beyond. The shares are now trading near their 52-week low."

Silver Star Energy, Inc. (OTCBB: SVSE) today is pleased to announce that the Company has increased and doubled its land holdings in the "core" Joarcam Project area
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 29, 2022 -- Silver Star Energy, Inc. (OTCBB: SVSE) today is pleased to announce that the Company has increased and doubled its land holdings in the "core" Joarcam Project area. Silver Star has now acquired an additional two sections that are on trend to producing Viking sands, south of the current lease holdings. The two newly acquired full sections, if fully developed, would enable Silver Star the ability of drilling up to 32 additional wells.
The acquisition is from a private Alberta company. The purchase price for the two sections priced at $250,000 for the 70% working interest will be subject to the issuance of the equivalent value in Company common shares for the asset purchase.
The two sections are on trend to the Company's existing production holdings and represent an extension of the Viking sand that is currently in production from the 13-27 well since March 1, 2005. The Company has announced production results for the first 29 days, which was 1,414 barrels with an average daily production rate of 49 barrels per day. April production will be announced when the full month's production figures are received from the operator.
The long-life reserves in the Viking allow wells to be in commercial production for 20 years. Currently, the 38-degree API light oil at Joarcam is priced at $54.97 per barrel ($67.95 CDN). The prospect lands are located about 25 miles southeast of Edmonton, Alberta and there is year-round access to the property.
About Silver Star Energy, Inc.
The Company is committed to the exploration and extensive development of oil and natural gas reserves throughout western North America. Company management is focused on an acquisition program targeting high quality, low risk prospects provided via key strategic alliance partnerships.

Heartland Oil and Gas Provides Operational Update
Heartland Oil and Gas Corp. is continuing to focus its efforts on the Lancaster pilot project, located to the south near Ottawa, Kansas.
Vancouver (PRWEB) April 29, 2022 -- Heartland Oil and Gas Corp. (OTCBB: HOGC) ("the Company") is continuing to focus its efforts on the Lancaster pilot project, located to the south near Ottawa, Kansas. Management has been successful in cutting costs and improving the per well performance from when it had first acquired approximately 750,000 acres of CBM leases from Evergreen in October, 2004. Changes in the completion programs implemented by Heartland over the past 5 months at Lancaster have increased production from an average of 3 to 5 mcfpd to 15 to 20 mcfpd and reduced costs by some 40% per well.
Lancaster production continues to improve on the original nine wells drilled on 80 acre spacing. The company is collecting detailed pressure and production data from isolated coal intervals in seven new 40 acre infill wells, and will start accelerating dewatering when data collection is complete. The company plans to monitor progress, evaluate completion techniques and the impact of 40 acre downspacing, and evaluate pipeline alternatives to see if economic viability can be achieved.
The wells at Lancaster continue to show signs of improvement, but are still just below our economic threshold. Although there is no guarantee the rate will continue to increase, the Company plans to continue to monitor the per well averages.
The Company had earlier implemented a revised completion program on two of its northern areas. The results of the completions did not result in any sustainable or large increase in production from the wells tested. Before implementing a revised completion or drill program on its Northern acreage, the Company has determined that it is best to focus its efforts on the Southern Acreage and if successful, implement some of the same lower cost and seemingly more effective completion procedures on its Northern acreage. Accordingly, the Company will be shutting in its original Engleke pilot, located near Holton, Kansas, which to date has failed to produce economic quantities of gas. The BTA pilot, acquired from Evergreen Resources during the last quarter of 2004, will also be shut in due to noncommercial production. Both pilots produce gas, but despite extensive dewatering efforts, have failed to show the improvements in gas rate needed to justify pipeline investment and hookup.
In proceeding with the development of its Kansas operations, management has spent less than $5 million of its cash since closing the Forest City basin transaction in October, 2004. Currently the company is debt free and has nearly $10 million cash and is monitoring its current projects as well as other opportunities in order to create shareholder value.

IPA SBRB Study: Two-Thirds of Small Businesses Feeling Impact of Higher Fuel Costs; Owners Split about Passing on Increases to Customers
A majority of small businesses are feeling the heat of higher fuel costs according to the latest International Profit Associates Small Business Research Board (IPA SBRB) poll. Nearly two-thirds (64%) of the small businesses responding to the nationwide IPA SBRB poll said they are feeling the impact of rising fuel costs.
Buffalo Grove, IL (PRWEB) April 28, 2022 -- A majority of small businesses are feeling the heat of higher fuel costs according to the latest International Profit Associates Small Business Research Board (IPA SBRB) poll. Nearly two-thirds (64%) of the small businesses responding to the nationwide IPA SBRB poll said they are feeling the impact of rising fuel costs.
However, small business owners and managers are split on whether to pass on the increase to their customers with 48% saying they are passing on part or all of the increase and 52% indicating they are not, according to the IPA SBRB poll. This means about one-third of all those surveyed say they are passing on higher fuels costs to their customers.
A variety of comments from the small business owners surveyed indicate that they are aware of the impact of increasing fuel costs and looking for ways to deal with the issue. Some businesses are passing on at least part of the increase by adjusting the cost of service or materials or adding a specific fuel surcharge. Some businesses say that tight competition prevents them from passing on the increases. One of the poll participants, a business with a truck fleet, is replacing trucks with more fuel efficient models. Many owners indicated that for the present time they are absorbing the increased costs.
“Small business owners and managers are caught in an environment where costs are escalating and margins are being squeezed,” said Gregg Steinberg, President of International Profit Associates, the largest privately-held provider of management consulting services to small and medium-size businesses in North America. “As we celebrate National Small Business Week, small businesses need to proactively implement variable pricing strategies to maximize both revenue generation and profit potential.”
The International Profit Associates Small Business Research Board ascertains the opinions of small business owners and managers on a wide variety of topics related to their own businesses as well as national and international issues that may impact their operations.
Participants in the poll provide feedback on significant issues and allow for real-time insight into the state of small businesses nationwide. The universe of participants is developed from among small businesses across the United States. More than 220 small businesses owners and senior managers participated in this IPA SBRB poll. The IPA SBRB study is a voluntary survey conducted via phone and email. The poll was structured and supervised through an independent resource.

PatentCafe Adds Patent Portfolio Management Tool to its Intellectual Property Management Solution; IBM isn’t the Only Company that Can Profit from Patent Licensing
SME to Fortune 100 companies without IBM’s licensing infrastructure can create their own patent licensing opportunities using PatentCafe's ICO Portfolio Manager solution.
Yuba City, CA (PRWEB) April 27, 2022 -- PatentCafe has introduced ICO™ Portfolio Manager, the high value add-on module for the company’s ICO™ Suite of patent research and intellectual property management solutions for enterprise (http://www.IAMcafe.com).
IBM’s licensing efforts generate nearly $2 B annually. With ICO™ Portfolio Manager SME to Fortune 100 companies without IBM’s licensing infrastructure can create their own patent licensing opportunities.
“Nokia licenses from Acacia Technologies”; “Samsung licenses from Universal Display”; “Borland licenses from Certicom”; “Lexar Media Inc., I-O Data Device and GoVideo license from Microsoft”. Such headlines clearly echo the dramatic rise in patent licensing, a necessity in today’s competitive technology environment.
Patent licensing leverages past R&D; investment to boost bottom line profits and grow shareholder value. Licensing is also used as a defensive measure to mitigate the risks and expense of patent infringement litigation.
ICO™ Portfolio Manager is the first patent portfolio management solution that applies advanced linguistic data mining capability of the ICO semantic patent search engine to a company’s entire patent portfolio. The module helps patent attorneys, corporate counsel and IP managers fully exploit their company's patent assets by helping identify new licensees, mitigate litigation risk, and reduce duplicate R&D; costs.
“For those who identify prospective licensees first, there are fortunes to be made. It sounds trite, but Fortune 500 portfolio managers agree.” PatentCafe’s CEO, Andy Gibbs says “A couple of Fortune 100 portfolios ‘go live’ in next week”.
After a one-time setup process, a company’s portfolio is internally searchable enterprise-wide against more than 21 million patent documents in PatentCafe’s international patent data center. Thereafter, an authorized company representative can add or remove patents from their portfolio through an easy browser interface.
Using LSA’s natural language search capabilities, licensees can simply copy and paste the full text of a competitor’s product description into the search box, and identify the most closely related patents the competitor may be infringing. “No other patent management solution in the world delivers that capability” says Gibbs.
“Stick licensing”, or asserting a patent against a competitor in order to open the door to licensing negotiations, forces a prospective licensee to weigh the costs of licensing against the more expensive alternative, infringement litigation.
“Carrot licensing” requires the licensor to identify potential “friendly” licensees, and making an offer to license one or more patents that will bring future value to the licensee – the “carrot”.
ICO™ Portfolio Manager makes short work of winnowing huge portfolios down to the bundle of patents that a licensee would consider valuable to their business.
Literally, in minutes rather than weeks or months, the module’s LSA technology can group related patents from portfolios as large as IBM’s (nearly 40,000 patents), increasing the license value by identifying long-forgotten or obscure patents sitting at the bottom of the portfolio. PatentCafe launched the free Open Source Software Patent Search Engine with IBM’s 500 free OSS patents in early 2005.
Adding standard alerting functions to ICO Portfolio Manager allows companies to increase cross-licensing of their existing patents across their divisions and subsidiaries, something that makes CFOs happy.
The alert feature can boost corporate revenue, while significantly reducing duplicate R&D; activities in facilities unaware that the parent corporation already has patented technology they can exploit. Internal cross-licensing can also lead to faster time to market, while reducing the chance of infringement.

GENERON® IGS Awarded a Contract for Nitrogen Generator Packages On Board Drill Ships
Generon® IGS, an affiliate of Innovative Gas Systems, has recently been awarded a contract to supply ten (10) Nitrogen Generators of the Cabinet series HP 6500 to be installed onboard five diamond mining drill ships offshore South Africa and the Namibia west coast.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 27, 2022 -- The nitrogen will be used as a compensating medium in heave compensating systems. The replacement of compressed air with nitrogen for this application is relatively new in the O&G; industry.
The application came into being when an accident occurred on one of the drill ships - the accumulator exploded. The explosion was caused by the reaction of Air (Oxygen) and the Hydraulic Fluid under high pressure. The investigation found under certain operating modes the compensating cylinders and associated pistons act in a manner similar to a diesel engine. In this situation the auto ignition temperature of the hydraulic fluid is reached. If Oxygen is present in the form of air, conditions exist within the compensator cylinders that enable the auto ignition of the hydraulic fluid (mist) with air (oxygen) to occur.
The accumulator is situated between the working bottles and the compensating cylinders. The explosion caused extensive damage to the drill tower and associated drilling equipment. The drill bit and drill string had to be cut off beneath the vessel, in order for it to sail back to port.
The Nitrogen System chosen for this application was a Generon® Nitrogen Cabinet Series unit. The Nitrogen System is a fully enclosed generator, designed for unattended, silent automated operation and will provide uninterrupted supply of gaseous nitrogen up to 300 Nm3/h with purities from 95-99,9 Vol.% in a footprint of approx. 800 x 800 mm.
For information on Generon® IGS systems, please contact us through our website; igs-global or directly @ Generon® IGS, 11985 FM 529, Houston Texas 77041; Phone: 713-937-5200; Fax: 713-937-5250.

Improved Filtration Reduces Pollution and Helps Industry Squeeze Every Drop of Energy and Products Out of a Barrel of Oil or MCF of Gas
Explains how filtration reduces waste in Industry and reduces pollution. Cover gas turbine filter applications
Cypress, TX (PRWEB) April 26, 2022 -- Today’s energy and petrochemical industries are utilizing gas turbine engines, similar to those used on aircraft to manufacture electricity, produce steam, chilled water, and industrial gases from energy that used to be wasted and became pollution. Thermal recovery systems are collecting waste heat and using it to fuel drastic improvements in air quality. Recently engineered technologies are not only reducing pollution by the reduction of waste, but their improved efficiencies are reducing the costs of fuels, chemicals and electricity. Filtration is a small but important part of the overall improvements of today’s refineries, petrochemical and thermal power plants.
Gas turbine engines require clean air, fuel and quality lubrication to operate efficiently. Air is filtered through an inlet filter housing and is drawn into the engine by the spinning of the turbine blades where it is compressed and mixed with fuel and the expansion of gases spins the turbine and the generator. Small particles must be filtered out of the air stream supplying the turbine or they will collect on the turbine blades. Turbine blades are precisely manufactured to exacting tolerances and balanced to spin easily. Accumulation of fine particles will cause the blades to become fouled and unbalanced and greatly reduce the efficiency and the output of the generator. Newly introduced air filters with high particle efficiency require less energy (pressure drop) to draw air through the system and can improve power output by as much as 0.9%.
Fuels used to power gas turbines must be kept clean and moisture free to maximize combustion and reduce emissions. This is accomplished with filtration.
Hundreds to thousands of gallons of lubricating oils are used to reduce friction and wear on the parts of the turbine. Rotating engines require continuous lubrication and the oils used become contaminated with water from condensation and particles from incomplete combustion. Water in these oils reduces their lubricating qualities and promotes the growth of bacteria witch degrades the life of the oil. Special filters are set in series to remove small particles, capture water molecules, acid contaminants (from bacterial degradation) and expel air in the system. Filtration and /or oil reclamation can greatly reduce need to change out lubricating oils thus reducing oil waste.
Similar systems are intergraded throughout the modern or upgraded energy facilities with stream turbines, gas compressors, and pumps. Filtration systems can reduce the need for lube oils, and improve the efficiencies and performance of the equipment that is squeezing money out of every barrel and BTU of hydrocarbons.

Faster, Higher, Greater – The Outstanding Achievements Of The New CRx Tower
Faster scanning speeds, higher scanning resolution and greater throughput are just three of the benefits offered by the new CRx Tower computed radiography (CR) scanner from GE Inspection Technologies. Incorporating all of the acknowledged advantages of computed radiography over film radiography, in terms of faster exposures, wider latitude, fewer retakes and overall reduced materials and labor costs, the new scanner is the first CR system to achieve scan resolution, for certain formats, of up to 50 micron or 20 pixels/mm. It will find ready application in industrial NDT from corrosion monitoring in the oil and gas sector to castings inspection in the manufacturing environment.
Huerth, Germany (PRWEB) April 24, 2022 -- Faster scanning speeds, higher scanning resolution and greater throughput are just three of the benefits offered by the new CRx Tower computed radiography (CR) scanner from GE Inspection Technologies.
The new CRx Tower can be used with X-ray and isotope sources to carry out many of the inspection tasks associated with conventional radiography such as weld inspection and inspection of concrete structures. It is particularly suited to the inspection of multi-thickness and composite components, as multi-film simulation pre-sets allow different thicknesses to be captured in one image, eliminating the need for a sandwich of different sensitivity films required in film radiography.
When combined with GE Inspection Technologies’ Rhythm software and its embedded wall thickness software option, the new scanner is the ideal solution for on-stream inspection of pipelines for corrosion/erosion in petrochemical plants, oil and gas facilities, refineries and water treatment works and does not require the removal of insulation. Remaining wall thickness can be accurately measured tangentially, using a patent-pending semi-tomography algorithm, or by penetrating radiation measurement, using a density reference body.
There is no need to input physical pipe dimensions manually, as the data is communicated automatically from the plant’s maintenance database by means of the Rhythm software, which also transfers measurement results back to the database, together with the exact measurement location to ensure that periodical inspections are precisely replicated. A mobile ID station allows inspection personnel to provide all the relevant data from the database at the measurement location using a hand-held computer. This computer programs a chip in the CRx Tower imaging plate cassette to ensure automated image acquisition and storage.
The mobile ID station reduces the requirement for manual data entry or transfer, and with it the risk of errors in the workflow in the factory and in the field. It can be programmed with a work list at a main workstation and before each exposure, the data associated with that exposure is copied from the ID station onto the cassette to be used. The cassettes are collected upon completion of the work and fed into the CRx Tower scanner, which can scan the image and the chip at the same time, ensuring that the information is saved with the exact parameters into the software database.
The new scanner finds equal application as an in-house and a mobile unit, as it can be easily fitted in a vehicle for transport between sites. It incorporates many of the successful features of the long-established CR Tower, such as the automatic handling, reading and subsequent erasing of imaging plates to ensure cassette lifetimes of up to 4000 scans, but offers faster scanning speeds of up to 45, 14 x 17in (35.6 x 43.2cm) plates per hour at high resolution. It complements GE’s existing comprehensive range of computed radiography scanners and film digitizers and will be seen as the new “workhorse” of the technology.

Huerth, Germany (PRWEB) April 24, 2022 -- The latest version of the USM 35 portable ultrasonic flaw detector, from GE Inspection Technologies, is now totally protected against the ingress of dust and strong jets of water to IP 66 and contains new software which allows its operation to Japanese weld inspection standards. In addition, the mechanical design modifications necessary to achieve the IP 66 rating have ensured that this versatile flaw detector is now even more robust and suitable for application in the most aggressive of operating environments.
The new USM 35X offers all the functionality associated with the USM 35 but its new environmental protection rating means that it is now not merely splash-proof but can be used in applications ranging from the dusty deserts often encountered in pipeline laying, to the heavy seas met in oil and gas exploration and offshore structural inspection. It is also suitable for operation in ambient temperatures from 0°C to 60°C.
By incorporating a software module to meet the Japanese Industrial Standard Z3060-2002 weld inspection code and by having operating instructions available in Japanese as well as most European languages, applications for the new flaw detector can now be extended not only to Japan but also to worldwide projects which are subject to Japanese code compliancy.
Software improvements in signal processing, as well as circuit board and shielding redesign, account for a much better signal-to-noise ratio with the USM 35X, while new printer drivers now allow reports to be printed directly on-site, without the need to download to a computer.
The USM 35X offers extreme ease of use in inspection tasks ranging from simple flaw detection to corrosion measurement. Its two “spin & set” rotary knobs allow rapid setting of gain and function values and the operator can select the required dB step width, freeze the displayed A-scan or switch the A-scan to full screen size by means of direct access keys.
The color scheme of the high visibility color screen can be changed to suit prevailing light conditions or according to personal preference. The color display facility also enhances clarity when using angle beam probes in weld inspections, as the color of the signal changes with every reflection of the sound beam from the workpiece surface.
As with the USM 35, the new, extremely portable USM 35X is powered by Lithium Ion batteries which allow at least 14 hours of continuous use and can be recharged while still in the instrument.

SimSci-Esscor Releases Enhanced Steady-State Simulator for Safety Systems and Pressure Relief Networks
The SimSci-Esscor unit of Invensys Process Systems has announced the release of version 5.0 of its VISUAL FLOW simulation program. Version 5.0 features enhanced SIM4ME thermodynamics, improved reporting capabilities, and more efficient data entry workflows. Used in the design and modeling of safety systems and pressure relief networks, the VISUAL FLOW simulation software provides a complete solution for a variety of industries including oil and gas production, gas processing, refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, and engineering and construction.
(PRWEB) April 23, 2022 -- VISUAL FLOW software provides process and safety engineers with rigorous steady-state simulation for designing, documenting, and modeling plant fluid-flow systems. The seamless integration of SIM4ME thermodynamics provides users with access to extensive component databanks, more than 35 thermodynamic modeling methods including equations of state and generalised correlations, thus improving the range and accuracy of flow models for the process industries.
“Plants increasingly require sophisticated solutions in the form of simple-to-use environments that will deliver fast, reliable, and accurate answers to their toughest questions, from the rating of complex relief systems to highly looped cooling water systems,” said Jim Browne, SimSci-Esscor’s fluid flow product manager. “The enhancements we’ve added to this version of VISUAL FLOW software make it easy for customers to integrate the information and thermodynamic calculations they need to ensure safer design and operation in their plants.”
A translator allows users to automatically upgrade existing simulation models to the new SIM4ME-based thermodynamics. The simplified pull-down menus and point-and-click options in the new version require a minimum amount of information from users to develop and execute simulation models. Cost reduction and increased engineering efficiency can be achieved because engineers require less time to develop models for each application. The solution also enables consistency and reproducibility through its standardised processes.
VISUAL FLOW simulation software was developed to model the toughest single and multiphase fluid-flow systems by using point-by-point thermodynamics and pressure drop calculations. It is ideal for applications including the design and rating of flare networks, line sizing, relief valve sizing or rating, and vessel de-pressuring. This release is part of SimSci-Esscor’s continuing commitment to enhancing simulation technology and application within the SIM4ME common modeling environment. SimSci-Esscor simulation solutions are developed to increase engineering productivity and boost overall asset/plant profitability by enabling users to improve the accuracy of process engineering design and operational analysis of decision support.

Energy Hedge Fund Center Now Tracking 330 Funds in Energy - New Trend is Emergence of Natural Resources Fund of Funds
The Energy Hedge Fund Center (EHFC) reports that it now lists more than 330 hedge funds active in the energy and energy-related industries with two to three new funds in formation each week. The Energy Hedge Fund Directory lists hedge funds that are either specialist energy funds or more diversified funds that have exposed more of their assets under management to the energy industry. The directory is actively maintained by EHFC staff and subscribers receive monthly updates.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 22, 2022 -- The Energy Hedge Fund Center (EHFC) reports that it now lists more than 330 hedge funds active in the energy and energy-related industries with two to three new funds in formation each week. The Energy Hedge Fund Directory lists hedge funds that are either specialist energy funds or more diversified funds that have exposed more of their assets under management to the energy industry. The directory is actively maintained by EHFC staff and subscribers receive monthly updates.
Currently, EHFC has identified more than 100 hedge funds active in energy commodities markets and more than 70 that are pursuing energy focused equity long/short strategies. Additionally, the directory now lists a growing number of alternative energy and environmental or ‘green’ hedge funds. About 90 of the listed hedge funds have a 100% focus on the energy industry while many more are active across commodities including electric power, natural gas, refined products, crude oil, metals and agricultural commodities. A recent important trend identified by EHFC analysts has been the rise in interest in energy by fund of funds which bring more conservative investor in to the energy industry. The number of fund of funds with a natural resources and/or energy focus has tripled in the last three months.
“The recent interest in energy on the part of fund of funds represents a maturation of hedge fund activity in the energy industry,” reports Dr. Gary M. Vasey. “Fund of funds generally offer more conservative investors access to a more diversified portfolio of energy and energy-related hedge funds often institutional investors. To date, many of the energy hedge funds appear to have been funded by wealthy private investors and family money.”
“We still anticipate over 300 new energy hedge funds entering the markets this year. They will trading energy commodities but also involved in distressed debt, carbon, emissions, and renewable energy trading as well as water trading,” said best selling author Mr. Peter C. Fusaro, and Chairman of Global Change Associates.
The Directory of Energy Hedge Funds is available on an annual subscription basis from the Energy Hedge Fund Center website at www.energyhedgefunds.com. EHFC staff provides regular online seminar briefings on hedge funds in the energy industry and the next online seminar is scheduled for May 10th, 2005. For more details, please visit the Energy Hedge Fund Center.

Half of BC Residents Support Offshore Oil & Gas Drilling off BC Coast
Results from a Nordic Research Group poll show that half of BC residents support, either somewhat or strongly, drilling for oil and gas off the coast of BC.
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) April 22, 2022 -- Results from a Nordic Research Group poll show that half of BC residents support, either somewhat or strongly, drilling for oil and gas off the coast of BC.
The question: ‘Do you support or oppose drilling for offshore oil or gas off the coast of BC?’ was asked to 801 respondents between March 28th and April 6th, 2005. 52% either strongly or somewhat supported drilling for offshore oil or gas while 34% of respondents either strongly or somewhat opposed drilling .
“Those British Columbians who oppose offshore drilling tend to strongly oppose it while supporters are about evenly divided between those who strongly support it and those who somewhat support the idea,” said Adam Di Paula, Senior Vice President of Nordic Research Group. “This is clearly a polarizing issue. However, at least at this point in time, British Columbians appear to be more open to the idea than opposed to it.”, said Di Paula.
“Support for offshore drilling is highest in Vancouver Island and Coastal regions. This is not surprising since those areas would stand to benefit the most economically,” added Di Paula.
About the survey
801 randomly selected BC residents, proportionate to the province’s population, were interviewed on the issue of drilling for offshore oil or gas as part of Nordic Research Group’s monthly omnibus – Ask BC, BC’s leading monthly omnibus survey. Overall results are accurate to within +/- 3.5%, 19 times out of 20 and were collected from March 28 to April 6, 2005.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Senator Katherine Laforge Share a Common Goal
Gov. Schwarzenegger, among other high-ranking leaders, have demonstrated that they share many of the alternative energy views espoused by Senator Katherine Laforge on the urgent need to move away from our reliance on OPEC oil.
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2022 -- With oil prices at near-record highs this week, Senator Katherine Laforge, took the opportunity to speak out about the positive actions California has embarked upon to be more energy self reliant and less dependent on foreign oil. The energy issue is a major concern in California as indicated by numerous power outages and the fact that they have the highest average gas price of any state in the union.
Sen. Katherine Laforge praised Governor Schwarzenegger for his pledge to move towards creating “one million solar [paneled roofs” during his term as governor of California. Gov. Schwarzenegger stated: “I promised the people of California during the campaign that as governor I would push for solar power. Today, I am keeping that promise to harness renewable solar energy with the help of my friends… to create one million solar roofs.”
Sen. Laforge passionately protests the United States’ unquenchable thirst for oil and said,
“Our country has become the oil hog of the world, voraciously using more oil per capita than any other country in the world.” The United States uses twice as much oil per capita than any other country. She contends that we have become dangerously dependent on foreign oil in recent years. With the money the United States spends importing oil every year, it would be very easy and cost effective to develop and improve on existing technologies for wind, solar, BioDiesel, Thermal Depolymerization, and hydroelectric power.
Senator Katherine Laforge is expected to pioneer a key movement towards alternative energy both before, and after the next presidential election. Gov. Schwarzenegger efforts towards more solar power in California, is a positive step in her effort to make alternative energy a reality. In the Senator’s latest address, she focused on America’s over-dependency of foreign oil and expanded on the Governor’s plan by suggesting new programs to make us completely self-reliant through renewable energy sources. She said, "America has become a vassal state to OPEC. Our military men and women are offered as a serf army to the OPEC nations. We use billions of US tax dollars and the blood of our soldiers to preserve the power of these unpopular governments. Wind power and solar energy could quickly free us from OPEC’s shackles."
Sen. Laforge’s has made her belief clear that the energy problem should be a bipartisan issue solved by members of all political persuasions. Gov. Schwarzenegger, among other high-ranking leaders, have showed through actions that they share many of the views Senator Katherine Laforge espouses on oil and alternative energy issues. A major concern of Senator Katherine Laforge has always been the dream to implement an alternative energy program that would allow us to say “Hasta La Vista, Baby” to the tight grip the Middle East has on us.
Currently, the US spends three hundred billion dollars or more just to ensure that oil from the Middle East reaches us. This cost is not included in the barrel price that news sources use to gauge the current price of oil but you pay it in income taxes as the shipping charges for the oil to our shores.
Sen. Laforge proposes to, “…allocate a sum of money, equal in significance to the money budgeted to insure OPEC oil reaches our shores. A sum of that magnitude in billions of dollars should be used to create solar power plants, thousands of wind farms, thermal conversion processing plants, and pay for research on more efficient ways to use hydrogen energy. A billion dollars spend in that fashion would provide benefits for decades to come instead of simply being a one time fee to insure delivery of a shipload of oil.”
The United States government has failed to implement any policy that would seriously decrease our dependency on oil from the volatile Middle East and other foreign counties. President Bush released a statement last Saturday encouraging new energy legislation but nothing yet of any significance has been accomplished during the last congressional session. Sen. Laforge reminds her followers that it is the duty of elected leaders to find better ways to meet the energy needs of their constituents through alternative means and not by simply accepting the status quo or shoring up governments of friendly Middle East regimes. She hopes that concerned citizens will start grass roots campaigns insuring that bipartisan energy legislation is introduced that charts out a national move to reduce foreign oil dependency.
The Senator Katherine Laforge’s full platform may be viewed at http://www.hulagusweb.com/. She will be releasing her own book, “Hulagu’s Web – The presidential pursuit of Senator Katherine Laforge” in July 2005.

"I invite you to join me in celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Earth Day and take the time to reflect on our nation’s environmental accomplishments and recommit to challenges of the future", said EPA's Acting Administrator, Steve Johnson.
This year marks the 35th Anniversary of “Earth Day”. On April 22, 1970, 20 million people across America celebrated the first Earth Day. It was a time when cities were buried under their own smog and polluted rivers caught fire. Now 35 years later, Earth Day is being celebrated around the globe. Through the combined efforts of the U.S. government, grassroots organizations, and citizens like you, what started as a day of national environmental recognition has evolved into a world-wide campaign to protect our global environment.
Did You Know?
- Energy Star qualified lighting provides more light while using 2/3 less energy than standard incandescent lighting.
- The average home is responsible for more air pollution than the average car.
- If one room in every US household was brightened by Energy Star qualified lighting, the annual energy savings would be equivalent to removing more than 8 million cars from the road for one year.
- It’s easy to see that Energy Star qualified fixtures are a stylish addition to any décor. What you can’t see is that they use less energy with bulbs that last 6 to 10 times longer than standard incandescent bulbs.
- The US demand for electricity is due to increase 28% over the next 20 years. And global demand will double by 2025.

Employers Baffled by How to Legally Handle Military Leave Requests: BLR's Free Audio Conference Explains the ins and outs
When employees have to take military leave their employers face serious responsibilities under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). Business & Legal Reports Inc. is offering a free audio conference recording featuring two expert attorneys who explain the ins and outs of this important and confusing law.
Old Saybrook, CT (PRWEB) April 21, 2022 -- It’s hard on the employee, who has to leave family and job for a military leave. But when a worker gives notice that he must go on active duty, the employer suffers too.
Fortunately employers can avoid the pitfalls of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) by listening to a recent audio conference sponsored by Business & Legal Reports (BLR). It’s free with registration, and helps employers understand their responsibilities to employees under the federal law for military leave in plain English.
Employers must be up-to-date with USERRA requirements because employees who feel that their USERRA rights have been violated can go directly to court - without first filing an administrative action. If an employer makes a mistake, for example missing the latest notification requirements, it may have to pay huge sums, including back pay, attorney’s fees, and even double damages!
This streaming audio conference features two lawyers who are experts in advising employers on USERRA compliance – Steve Bernstein and Clancy Vettel Mendoza, a partner and associate, respectively, in the Atlanta office of Fisher & Phillips. They provide practical tips on how to avoid the pitfalls under this oft-misunderstood law. For instance, the requirements for healthcare insurance coverage depend on how long the employee is away: Those absent for 30 or fewer days are entitled to employer-sponsored coverage under same terms as when they were working. Those on leave for more than 30 days are generally entitled to COBRA-type continuation benefits.
Employers will benefit from practical guidance like this in this 90-minute conference, which includes a 60-minute presentation and a 30-minute question-and-answer session. Access it here: http://www.blr.com/82008400/PRS12
This audio conference was originally recorded on March 17, 2005.

60,000 People Join Virtual March for Earth Day 2005
Care2 and Defenders of Wildlife urge wildlife conservation action on April 22nd.
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) April 20, 2022 -- Wildlife conservation organizations Care2 and the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund today urged conservationists to join over 60,000 online activists and let their fingers do the marching in the first-ever environmental virtual march to coincide with Earth Day, April 22nd.
The joint effort, through a special website at Earth Day, by protesting the recent Senate vote to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling and other anti-conservation policies of the White House and the Congress.
Randy Paynter, Founder of Care2 said, "We wanted to give individuals the means to have their voices heard collectively by the politicians in Washington and see the viral impact of joining forces with activists across the country. Through the virtual march, our elected representatives will receive an avalanche of emails, phone calls and faxes that should help influence them to vote responsibly on issues affecting our wildlife, its habitat and the environment we share."
Speaking for Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, its President, Rodger Schlickeisen, said, "Through this first Earth Day virtual march, conservationists can send a message to the White House and the Congress that oil drilling in America's greatest wildlife sanctuary is not the way to prepare for America's energy future. It's time for the President, Senators and Representatives to stop listening to oil interests, and instead build a wildlife conservation legacy for our children and grandchildren."
Through www.earthdayvirtualmarch.org, individuals can sign up for the march and simultaneously send an email praising or criticizing their Senators on their Arctic vote. All of the emails will be delivered on Earth Day. Those participating in the march will also be urged to call or fax the White House, their Senators and their Representative on Earth Day.
In addition, those signing up will be encouraged to spread the word about the march and encourage friends to sign up. The www.earthdayvirtualmarch.org site provides an individualized map that will show the ripple effect of the viral effort by indicating how many people are in fact signing up and where they live. This attractive feature allows each participating individual to see how many marchers he or she produces, and how their impact spreads across the country.
Care2 is the leading online destination and action center for people with a passion for leading a healthy, responsible lifestyle and supporting progressive causes. Along with its own 4 million members, Care2 is building a powerful network of online communities to collectively make a difference in the most important social, health and environmental causes of our time.
The Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund is a non-profit organization that works to provide the wildlife conservation community with a voice in the legislative and political process. The Defenders Action Fund also educates the public about the legislative records of members of Congress, especially through its Conservation Report Card. Inpro/Seal Revises Its Introduction to Bearing Isolators Literature to Make it Even More Valuable to Plant Maintenance People
This is a reference, written by the inventor of the product and is worded in easy to understand language. It includes important and useful information on the evolution of the bearing isolator, including: how and why it was invented; how it works; how and why contact seals fail in a short period of time; how to eliminate catastrophic failure; how to reduce power consumption in rotating equipment; costs; maintenance; configurations and much more.
Rock Island, IL (PRWEB) April 20, 2022 -- Inpro/Seal Company has announced a revision to its highly successful brochure, “Introduction to Bearing Isolators, A short lesson in bearing isolation”.
Valuable Information
Authored by David C. Orlowski, well known for his knowledge of bearings, bearing protection and tribilogy, the literature is a valuable source of information and useful tool to anyone involved in the management, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) of motors, machine tool spindles, turbines, fans, gear boxes, paper machine rolls, pumps and other types of rotating equipment used in industrial/process plants.
Authored by Industry Expert
President and founder of Inpro/Seal Company, Orlowski has spent the last 41+ years working on ways to enhance and extend the service life of rotating equipment. In 1977, he received patent protection (#4,022,479) for the bearing isolator. (He also invented the term “bearing isolator” in the process.) In addition, he holds more than 40 other isolator related patents, some of which go out until 2018 and longer.
Importance of Research and Feedback
According to Orlowski, “For over 27 years Inpro/Seal has never stopped developing ways to help companies increase productivity and improve their bottom line. To this end, our manufacturing complex is the largest of its kind in the world devoted to the engineering, research, improvement, testing and manufacture of bearing isolators.”
Orlowski continued, “A very important aspect of our new technologies is direct end user feedback. Last year, we completed a two-year end-user based research project that was conducted on a market-by-market, application-by-application analysis. The end result of this research was that end users wanted to know a lot more about bearing isolators. “
“Whether they used bearing isolators or not, whether or not they read our literature or advertising messages, the majority of the respondents simply stated that they wanted to know more about the basics of the product. As a direct result of this research, we developed a brochure, “Introduction To Bearing Isolators, A short lesson in bearing isolation”.
Orlowski concluded by saying that, “Based on feedback, request and need, we have revised our reference to include additional technical information, artwork and drawings. It represents a major investment on our part to inform end users how bearing isolators eliminate the root cause of rotating and related equipment failure - moisture, dirt and abrasives contaminating the bearing environment.”
Unique Reference
What makes this reference unique is that it is written by the inventor of the product in easy to understand language. It includes important and useful information on the evolution of the bearing isolator, including: how and why it was invented; how it works; how and why contact seals fail in a short period of time; how to eliminate catastrophic failure; how to reduce power consumption in rotating equipment; costs; maintenance; configurations and much more.
What is a Bearing Isolator
A bearing isolator is a non-contact, non-wearing, permanent bearing protection device. It has a rotor and a stator, and the two are unitized, so that they don’t separate from one another while in use. Typically, the rotor turns with a rotating shaft, while the stator is pressed into a bearing housing. The two components interact to keep contamination out of the bearing enclosure and the lubricant in.
Inpro/Seal protected bearings have been known to run 150,000 hours (17 years) or more, eliminating the need for continual maintenance and repair. Documented cases show that a plant can easily double the mean-time-between failure (MTBF) and reduce maintenance costs by at least half, with users reporting an extremely high ROI (Return On Investment). Bearing isolators are installed by OEM’s, retrofitted on existing equipment or specified by end users. Approximately 1.6 million have been installed and most are still in operation in process plants around the world.
Inpro/Seal Products
Recent developments include: the only product that protects rolling element bearings on paper machines from the wet end to the dry end; IEEE-841 motors that use bearing isolators as part of their specification and set the standard for motor bearing protection; the VBX-H Series that protects machine tool spindle bearings from coolant, chips, humidity and heat; the OM 32 that optimizes oil mist applications by eliminating stray emissions, environmental and housekeeping issues; and the Air Mizer™- PS, a dry sealing system provides a positive seal in applications where dry particulates, powders and bulk solids are handled, processed, packaged and stored.

Increased Venture Funding and New Technical Service Launch Moves Coal Gas Technology Company Forward
WellDog closes a new round of funding from EnerTech Capital and announces a new market offering, Critical Gas Content™.
Laramie, WY (PRWEB) April 20, 2022 -- WellDog, Inc., a Wyoming-based energy technology company today announced two key advances: a new market offering, Critical Gas Content™, which increases the profitability of finding and producing coal bed natural gas; and closure of a new round of funding by Pennsylvania-based EnerTech Capital
WellDog’s Critical Gas Content service is changing the way coalbed natural gas reservoirs are developed. WellDog’s direct downhole analysis quantifies gas content, gas saturation and critical gas desorption pressure within hours. The service tells operators how much gas is available in the formation and how much water will be lifted before the well starts producing. With this service, coalbed operators can finally identify the most profitable potential wells quickly and confidently.
"Critical Gas Content revolutionizes coalbed natural gas exploration and development," said Wayne Greenberg, CEO of WellDog. "Developers can now receive immediate, accurate quantification of reservoir properties at a lower cost per well than coring. It means they can make confident decisions based on real measurements and not rely on inferred and lab-simulated results."
"WellDog is a unique managed service provider in the unconventional natural gas market," said Tucker Twitmyer, EnerTech Capital. "The value proposition to coal bed natural gas producers offers a dramatic increase in per well and per basin profitability with fewer non-producing wells and better performance of producing wells. We are excited to join them as they commercialize their new service." As part of the investment round, Twitmyer has joined WellDog’s Board of Directors.

Underwater Robot Keeps Divers Safe, Captures Detailed Video During Caribbean Refinery Inspection - ROV Assists Completing the Mission with Minimum Additional Cost
Ocean and Coastal Consultants, Inc. (OCC – ( http://www.ocean-coastal.com/ ) of Trumbull, CT is a recognized industry leader in civil, structural, coastal, and geotechnical engineering for waterfront structures. When tasked with inspecting an offloading pier at a Caribbean Refinery early this year, they started with standard Engineer-Diver techniques. However, due to safety concerns, making use of the Engineer-Divers was not possible.
Exton, PA (PRWEB) April 20, 2022 -- Ocean and Coastal Consultants, Inc.
Electronic Sales of New England (ESNE - http://www.esalesne.com/ ), a premier technology provider in nearby Old Saybrook, CT was tasked with finding a solution - fast. Mark Warren, a Principal of ESNE recommended a VideoRay (http://www.Videoray.com) Remotely Operated Vehicle for its portability, ease of use, and maneuverability in tight locations. He had a leased unit on the way to the site within 18 hours of getting the call.
Jeff Snyder of OCC was the engineer and ROV operator on site. He commented on the mission - "Despite the fact that we had a mid-level VideoRay - the Explorer model - and I had previously operated a Pro III model – I was able to get everything we really needed in a very short period of time.” We inspected almost the entire structure, penetrating through locations where divers could not have entered safely. We also inspected mooring dolphins away from the primary structure. When we had problems or questions, the VideoRay team talked us through them by phone."
To do the inspection, Jeff broke the structure into segments where the VideoRay was flown on the surface to a piling, where it submerged for the underwater inspection. A full video documentation was recorded. He was able to inspect 75-95% of the support beams and underside of the concrete deck and was able to determine the condition of the beams and concrete. He was also able to see a good sample of the "H" piles and the center beam to make their determinations about the structural integrity of the facility. Stan White, president of OCC commented further: "There's two aspects to doing a job like this right. One aspect is to understand what to look for, how problems develop and how they can be fixed - the engineering expertise our firm has worked years to develop. Another is stay on top of the right tools as they become available, and keep your people safe and productive.
The quick deployment of the VideoRay to solve a field discovered condition on this job is something we're proud of - and we're proud of Jeff for the way he pulled it off." Scott Bentley, the president of VideoRay, compared the development of ROV technology to the early years of computer development. "A popular misconception in the 1980s was that big computers were needed for 'big' computer jobs. Many people feel that way about ROVs - only big ROVs can do big jobs. We're now learning that smaller is better on inspection ROVs - VideoRays have the thrust, control, cameras, and accessories needed to inspect this site, which was very large and very complicated. Look for VideoRay to develop even more capable units in the near future."

Higher Gasoline Prices and Tougher EPA Regulations Fuels Growth for Clean Diesel Technology Company in Medway, MA
When gasoline prices soar, motorists look to alternatives and, in Europe, the choice is increasingly diesel, says clean diesel technology expert Klaus Peter, President of Medway, MA-based Rypos, Inc. Diesels extract more power from a gallon of fuel, reduce green-house gases and are a proven technology. Rypos has developed and tested technology that removes up to 90% of soot from diesel emissions.
(PRWEB) April 18, 2022 -- In Europe, where gasoline sells for over twice US prices, fuel-efficient diesel cars and vans are a growth industry. From the two-seater Smart Car to luxury Passats and an award-winning Jaguar, a third of Europe’s new car buyers pick diesel over gas -- not only for fuel efficiency -- but for extra power and pep as well.
With gasoline topping $2 a gallon, US auto experts are taking a fresh look at the advantages of diesel passenger vehicles. "Unlike hybrids, diesel is a here-today, proven technology and a viable alternative to gas-electric or diesel-electric hybrids whose costly batteries eventually have to be replaced. Diesels get more power from a gallon of fuel, emit fewer greenhouse gases, and are virtually indestructible and cheap to maintain. Due largely to electronics, today’s diesel engines are quieter, cleaner and more fuel-efficient and powerful than those Americans were introduced to during the 1970s gas crisis," says Klaus Peter, founder and president of Rypos, Inc., Medway, MA.
Rypos (www.rypos.com) developed and markets the Rypos DPF, a proprietary "active" or self-cleaning filter that eliminates up to 90 percent of soot from diesel engines with more reliability and less power loss than filters now in use. Prior to Rypos, Peter co-founded Media Logic, Inc., a major force in the worldwide magnetic media tester market and played an active role in its becoming an American Stock Exchange listed company.
Diesel Cars Present Growth Potential in US
Rypos is targeting the market for large diesel generators, marine engines, locomotives and big earth moving equipment. Many of these engines will have to be retrofit to meet US and Cal -EPA Regulations. The original equipment market is growing. The number of diesel generators produced annually is about 94,500 and increasing at 11 percent annually says Diesel Progress.
With mass production, the cost of the Rypos DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) can be cut sufficiently to make it practical as original equipment on diesel passenger vehicles. The market potential is extraordinary. Peter points out, "In Europe one in every three new cars sold is diesel powered. In Austria and Belgium diesel passenger vehicles are a substantial majority and, in France, 54 percent of passenger cars are diesel."
According to Diesel Forum, advanced European diesel passenger vehicles get 20-40 percent better fuel economy than gasoline powered vehicles. A 30-percent market penetration of light-duty diesel cars and trucks would decrease US crude oil imports by 350,000 barrels a day.
RYPOS Technology Presented at US-DOE Symposia
US-EPA and often-tougher California-EPA regulations, together with voluntary compliance incentives, are driving demand for clean-diesel technology among engine makers such as Cummins, Detroit Diesel and Caterpillar. US Department of Energy (DOE) encourages clean diesel power; organizing an annual Diesel Engine Emission Reduction (DEER) conference that draws 520 top scientists and engineers. DOE also invites European carmakers to showcase their hottest diesel offerings at these symposia. Rypos has been presented its technology at previous DEER conferences; next conference is slated for August 21-25 in Chicago.
How this Active Filter Works
The Rypos DPF is made of porous sintered metal mesh that looks like compressed steel wool and acts like a resistance heater. Electrical current, generated by the engine, passes through the mesh heating it to periodically burn off soot. Automated circuitry monitors the process by measuring backpressure and cleans the filter as needed. The Rypos DPF removes up to 90 percent of soot while using one percent of engine output. It works in concert with catalytic converters that eliminate nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, and carbon monoxide emissions and replaces the conventional muffler.
Most diesel emission filters in use today are made of less-porous ceramic materials. These filters need high exhaust temperatures to keep them clean, which is not always possible or in cold climates or with engines that run intermittently. Other systems spray fuel on the filter and ignite it to burn off accumulated soot.
The Rypos DPF is now installed on stationary generators including one at a large Caterpillar dealership in New Hampshire that is "off the grid." The US Navy has tested it for its 4,000 two-cycle marine engines. Rypos is soon expected to meet the requirements for California Air Resources Board Certification and the mining industry is evaluating the Rypos DPF to cut emissions from underground diesel equipment.

Mashita Electronics Adds Exclusive Online Distributor, "Solutions" for Watt-Minder, Appliance Cost and Current Meter
The Watt-Minder, a low cost tool to help consumers measure their energy usage at home and in the office, is now exclusively offered via the nationwide e-commerce retailer Solutions, as its exclusive e-tailer. The Watt-Minder in concert with the U.S. Department of Energy, via its Energy Star program, can work together to reduce home and office energy costs.
(PRWEB) April 15, 2022 -- Mashita Electronics announces the selection of “Solutions®” online retailer as the newest distributor of the “Watt-Minder” Appliance Cost & Current Meter. Vickie Desofi, Manager of Catalog, and Internet Sales for Mashita Electronics lauded the venture as an important step in the introduction of a new product into the consumer market. Solutions® is currently the exclusive online retailer for the Watt-Minder 90100G.
“The Watt-Minder is an innovative product”, says Desofi, and it requires a trusted marketer like Solutions to carry this type of product to the consumer. The Watt-Minder measures the consumption of electrical appliances and presents the cost by the hour, month, and year.
“The potential benefits are two-fold”, explains Desofi first, the consumer can get an understanding of the cost of appliance operation using variables such as timer settings, temperature settings, and over all appliance efficiency. Secondly, as consumers set, use, and replace appliances the combined effect is to reduce the energy load on our power grid, and thus help in the stabilization and efficiency, and thus the cost of delivering electrical power to society.
The Watt-Minder was first introduced in Fall 2004. It is currently offered for sale at home improvement, hardware, electronic parts and aquarium supply stores. The Watt-Minder carries the ENERGY STAR seal from the Environmental Protection Agency, a division of the U.S. Department of Energy. Once you determine the energy hogs in your home or office look for the ENERGY STAR to identify the most energy efficient replacements.

Revolutionary New Armor Can Save Lives by Protecting Soldiers and Helping Thwart Attacks at Home
New composite armor can shield people and facilities against the deadliest of conventional attacks, including car bombs, rocket-propelled grenades, and the so-called “unstoppable” .50 cal. BMG. Unlike other barrier materials that degrade under attack, this product actually gains strength by absorbing projectiles into its mass.
Rome, GA (PRWEB) April 13, 2022 -- Ballistics Research, Inc., of Rome, Georgia has developed a material that can save the lives of American servicemen and women and greatly increase security against terrorism at home and abroad.
The material, dubbed Advanced Anti-Ballistic Compound, or AABC, is a new, patent-pending, composite polymer with a very high strength-to-weight ratio. It is capable of stopping and safely absorbing projectiles from small arms fire and every kind of conventional (non-nuclear) explosive device. In testing, AABC has proven its effectiveness even against the .50 cal. BMG, a heavy military machine gun round previously called “unstoppable.”
AABC weighs less than most other viable protective materials and is the only known material that actually gains strength under attack. While other materials degrade under attack, AABC absorbs projectiles into itself, building density and mass, and becoming increasingly resistant to assault.
Teamed with a second new development, AABC holds tremendous promise for saving the lives of American troops and vastly increasing the security of buildings and sensitive facilities, such as chemical or nuclear plants. Though it may be produced in any form or shape in which its properties are desired, AABC offers additional unique advantages when in the form of the Three-Dimensional Interlocking Protective System, or 3-D IPS, also a development of Ballistics Research.
Interlocking cubic modules made from AABC, the patent-pending “building blocks” of the 3-D IPS, are produced in virtually any size. For example, some applications may call for cubes that measure 10” X 10” X 10”, while other applications may be better served by a system that utilizes very large modules of one cubic yard.
Each module interlocks on six sides with any other cube of the same size, affording speed of assembly and endless flexibility in configuration. No tools or formal instructions are required for assembly, and every cube of the same size is identical to all its mates; There are no special corner modules or end caps.
Utilizing a true three-dimensional, six-sided interlocking system, the IPS cubes form extremely strong structures that may be built to any desired size and configuration, with walls of any thickness. The system's structural integrity is "ram proof," impervious even to ramming with cars or trucks. After use, the modules are easily disassembled for storage or transportation for reuse.
The 3-D IPS may be used to armor bunkers, buildings, pipelines, pump stations — any critical need equipment or installation that requires protection from ballistic or explosive attack. Military units with a need for permanent, semi-permanent or highly mobile physical security are likely to find the modules valuable and convenient. Existing buildings are easily and quickly secured with the 3-D IPS, and the system is adaptable for new construction as well.
Founded in 1999, Ballistics Research, Inc., is dedicated to the development of new technologies with value for security and defense of personnel, sensitive facilities and other vital assets, as well as for law enforcement and forensic science.
For high-resolution photos suitable for publication, a white paper on AABC and the 3-D IPS, and additional resources for print, Web and broadcast media, visit http://www.redoakriver.com/aabc.htm.

Next Generation Rechargeable Hybrids Gaining Wider Support
Experts available to discuss implications of new, aggressively-electric hybrids vehicles that can help end America's 'addiction' to imported oil, while reducing greenhouse gases.
(PRWEB) April 12, 2022 -- An unusual alliance of the political left and the right is throwing its support behind a newly emerging, evolutionary adaptation of gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles. Unlike current hybrid models, these new plug-in hybrids will give owners the choice of running them off electric power, gasoline or renewable biofuels.
Background
A relative recent phenomenon, hybrids from Honda, Toyota and Ford are expanding their market share in North America at an accelerating rate. In 2004, Toyota Prius sales were up 118%. Similarly, Honda saw its hybrid sales grow from just under 10,000 vehicles in 1999 to nearly 50,000 in 2003.
Hybrids use a combination of internal combustion engine and electric drive motors, powered by high energy battery packs deftly hidden from view, to deliver improved fuel efficiency, enhanced performance and reduced greenhouse gas and tailpipe emissions. And while hybrid-drive architecture vary among carmakers, they do share one thing in common: no current models require owners to plug them in to recharge their batteries. The cars are self-recharging from the engine and brakes; and Toyota and Honda have labored hard to make sure potential buyers do not confuse hybrids with battery electric cars.
New Transportation Paradigm Emerging
But just as consumers are beginning to recognize the value of gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles in terms of their improved fuel efficiency -- and increasingly better performance compared to non-hybrid models; as in the case of the new Honda Accord Hybrid and Lexus RX400h -- proponents of home-rechargeable, plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) are starting to make political inroads within Washington policy circles.
Here are some recent developments:
* Austin, Texas city council endorses flexible fuel, gasoline-optional, PHEVs
* Austin Energy, the city's public utility, plans to offer substantial consumer rebates on PHEVs
* Set America Free – a "green-neocon" coalition -- endorses development of PHEVs
* National Energy Policy Commission study finds PHEVs rank top among automobile development pathways
* Energy Future Coalition, made up of 31 former national security experts and Republican and Democratic Presidential advisers, recommends development of plug-in hybrids.
* New York Times and Business Week have featured major articles on plug-in hybrids.
* A recent technical workshop on plug-in hybrids in Monaco attracts three times the anticipated audience.
When hybrids can be recharged from the local utility grid -- or even a homeowner's solar panels -- some, or most, of the energy propelling the car comes from domestically-produced electric power, replacing imported oil. This has important national security, global warming and local air quality implications. While no hybrid car maker currently offers consumers PHEV, it would require relatively minor changes to facilitate this capability, especially in the current model Toyota and Ford hybrids, which already have some limited electric-only driving range.
While the barriers are not trivial -- primarily because of the initial cost of a larger battery pack -- two California-based organizations are solving the engineering problems; and one has demonstrated a home-rechargeable, aggressively-electric Prius hybrid that is capable of delivering 120-180 mpg fuel efficiency numbers for the first sixty miles of range, triple the range of the current Prius.
The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Palo Alto, CA. and Austin Energy project that consumers who home recharge their plug-in hybrids will pay electric costs equivalent of less than 60 cents a gallon of gasoline. And in the city of Austin's case, if home recharging is done at night on Austin's Green Rate, the vehicles will end up being recharged primarily by wind energy from farms in west Texas, making these cars almost entirely wind-powered.
This is why groups as politically disparate as the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security and the National Resources Defense Council Foundation have joined forces, with others, to endorse the development of plug-in hybrid vehicles. They believe it is not just good for the environment and the consumer's pocket book, it's critical to national security.

Battery Reconditioning Company Has Unprecedented Success
Battery Doctors, a premier battery reconditioning service, has found unmatched success by having the only product that can successfully recondition lead acid batteries, thereby saving consumers money and conserving environmental resources.
(PRWEB) April 11, 2022 -- Battery Doctors, a premier battery reconditioning service and a division of ProTec International, LLC, has found unprecedented success by developing the only product that can successfully recondition lead acid batteries. Reconditioned batteries cost a fraction of a new battery and conserve environmental resources by reusing otherwise functional batteries.
Battery Doctors has found that their distinctive product has virtually no competition in the U.S. and International markets. While various methods for extending battery life have been tested and explored, Battery Doctors has developed a method of reconditioning the battery without taking it apart. Most batteries die prematurely due to hard sulphate build-up on the plates. Battery Doctors uses a non-hazardous chemical “ProBat” and a specifically designed charger “ProCharge” to safely remove the harmful lead-sulphate from the plates and inhibit its reoccurrence.
“There is a tremendous need for lead acid batteries in this $17 billion dollar worldwide market,” said Marc Keith, Director of Product Development for Battery Doctors. “We can hardly keep up with the demand for reconditioned batteries and that’s a good thing.”
There are over 1,100 Battery Doctors operators worldwide that provide reconditioned batteries for automotive, marine, heavy equipment, industrial applications, hospitals, farms, and the military. Battery Doctors expects continued growth of their product as their operator base expands.
The benefits of Battery Doctors reconditioned batteries include:
• More affordable batteries

Norwegian Government Stalls Merger Talks Between Utility Norsk Hydro and Centrica, Owner of British Gas
Norwegian government officials fearing a politically sensitive deal ahead of elections have intervened to call off merger talks between Norsk Hydro (Oslo: NYH) and Centrica (London: CAN) owner of British Gas writes Norwegian business magazine Farmann.no.
Oslo, Norway (PRWEB) April 11, 2022 -- Independent sources confirmed to Farmann.no on Sunday that Norway’s Norsk Hydro and U.K.s Centrica where in merger discussions. However, the sources all said that the talks had now been called off and that no deal is imminent at this time.
Undisclosed sources told the Sunday Times on Sunday that merger talks where held between Sir Roy Gardner, Centrica’s chief executive and Eivind Reiten the Norsk Hydro chief executive in detail about a nil-premium deal. Gardner was said to be advised by Goldman Sachs. Centrica is valued at USD 16.4 billion.
The deal was said to have been cut off by the Norwegian government who owns 44% of the USD 22 billion Norsk Hydro as they became nervous about such a controversial deal ahead of Norway’s Septembers parliamentary elections.
Norwegian officials from both Norsk Hydro and the government declined to comment but that negotiations where talking place was confirmed to Farmann.no by Norsk Hydro union leader Frode Alfheim as well as from Centrica spokesperson Andrew Turpin who also said that “The Norwegian government is very protective of its oil and gas assets. They would not like to part with it, as I understand.”
Norwegian politicians from the opposition parties Arbeiderpartiet (labor party) and Senterpartiet (country/farming party) both stresses the special case for Norsk Hydro and the need for keeping a strong vibrant Norwegian oil and gas industry within the borders of Norway.
Norwegian oil analyst Martin Mølsæter told Farmann.no that he thought a nil-premium deal with Centrica not to be beneficial financially as there where vast gas resources in Hydro not yet fully reflected in the Hydro share price. Recent deals like the “Ormen Lange” deal has show that foreign interest are willing to pay a huge premium to get access to Norwegian gas resources Mølsæter told Farmann.no.

Turan Petroleum, Inc. Enters Into Agreement to Acquire Turan EnerPetroleum
Turan Petroleum, Inc. (OTC: TURP), an independent energy exploration and development company, today reported that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Turan EnerPetroleum, a Kazakhstan limited liability company that owns a license to explore for oil and gas in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Santa Ana, CA (PRWEB) April 9, 2022 -- Turan Petroleum, Inc. (OTC: TURP), an independent energy exploration and development company, today reported that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Turan EnerPetroleum, a Kazakhstan limited liability company that owns a license to explore for hydrocarbons in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Turan Petroleum, Inc. (the “Company”) will acquire 100% of Turan EnerPetroleum, which holds a license from the government of Kazakhstan to explore for hydrocarbons in the ARIS region. Upon closing, which is scheduled for April 30, 2005, Turan EnerPetroleum will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. The Company plans to prospect and produce in the ARIS region under a concession license granted by the Ministry of Power and Minerals of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Turan EnerPetroleum’s concession license was granted for an extendable 25-year term (beginning in 2001). Following closing, the Company’s ARIS territories concession license will cover approximately 22,000 square kilometers in the South Kazakhstan Kizilordinskoy regions.
Initial geological studies have been completed by third parties, and show the potential of locating substantial amounts of recoverable oil and gas products inside the Company’s concession license territories. The studies have located over 50 geological formations that are typically oil or gas bearing. Northeast of the ARIS concession, gas has been discovered in an area known as Amangeldy. The ARIS concession contains similar geological formations as those found to produce hydrocarbons in the Amangeldy fields. Southeast of the concession site (approximately 120 km), oil is being extracted near the city of Tashkent. Northwest of the ARIS site (approximately 250 – 300 km) large oil deposits have been discovered in fields known as Kymkol and Zhanzhol. The main hydrocarbon deposits in the ARIS site are expected to be associated with salt deposits. Scores of these deposits have been identified within the ARIS site. The same Pre-Caspian cavity that is producing gas in Karachaganak and oil in the Tenzig region are connected to the ARIS site. Salt structures at similar depths as those producing in Tenzig and Karachaganak are also believed to exist within the ARIS site, based on the information contained in the initial geological reports. The Tenzig field contains one of the largest proven oil deposits in the world.
The Company intends to undertake further geological testing, conduct exploratory drilling, and extract hydrocarbons from the ARIS site. Following extraction, the Company plans to efficiently deliver its oil and gas production to both local and world markets. The South Kazakhstan region, which includes the Turan EnerPetroleum’s ARIS concession, contains population of about 2 million people. Currently, natural gas is delivered to the region from Uzbekistan, with the local supply being subject to shortages. The infrastructure to deliver natural gas locally is in place and a demand for locally produced gas exists. The regions where Turan EnerPetroleum’s concession license is located already have infrastructure in place, including asphalt roads, railways stations, with refineries located a relatively short distance from the ARIS site.
As recently as the 1990’s Kazakhstan was not well known.. However, since then, the Republic of Kazakhstan has proven to be a significant player in the world oil market. During 2003 Kazakhstan’s oil exports were valued at more than $7 billion. Since 1993 US companies have invested over $6 billion in Kazakhstan. The U.S Department of State estimates that Kazakhstan will be one of the top 10 oil producing nations in the world by 2015. Robert VanDuren, Turan’s President states, “We are thrilled to complete these contract negotiations, and look forward to being a significant contributor to the overall hydrocarbon production levels in Kazakhstan.”
Turan Petroleum, Inc., a Nevada corporation, is an oil and gas exploration and development company based in Nevada and California. The development stage Company is pursuing opportunities in new energy markets, focusing on the acquisition and development of oil and gas properties in Eurasia, and other resource rich regions of the former Soviet Union. The Company anticipates the need for additional capital during the next 12 months. The Company’s common stock is traded Over the Counter under the symbol “TURP”.

New Heat Transfer Options for Low-Temperature Processes
Food-Grade and Cryogenic-Range Heat Transfer Fluids Now Available for Industrial Temperature Control.
(PRWEB) April 7, 2022 -- Processors of custom chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients, precision plastic products, and food additives had a common need: heat transfer fluids better suited to the specific requirements of their cooling processes.
Paratherm Corporation, a long-time manufacturer of high-temperature heat transfer fluids, responded to these needs by developing a new line of low-temperature transfer fluids.
The newest, Paratherm MG™ mid-range fluid is a food-grade version of the Paratherm MR® heat/cool fluid. It eliminates the significant design and operational problems found in steam/chilled-water systems, and it is certified HT-1 food-grade by the NSF®, the follow-on to the retired USDA H-1 certification. The fluid is recommended for processes operating from 0°C to 260°C.
Processors with more severe low-temperature requirements have begun to discover the unique Paratherm LR™ low-range heat transfer fluid. This food grade (NSF HT-1) fluid operates between -40°C and +204°C. With a flash point of >60°C, it is classified as a Class III Combustible liquid (not a Flammable liquid) under 29 CFR 1910.106 (OSHA). This assists in reducing safety concerns. Chemical, cosmetic, and electronic-materials manufacturers have replaced Silicone-based, glycol/water, and other fluid chemistries with the Paratherm LR fluid.
Paratherm’s cryogenic-range Paratherm CR™ heat transfer fluid (Pat. Pend.) was specifically developed to provide the ultra-cold process temperatures (down to -100ºC) pharmaceutical and fine chemical manufacturers need to increase product purity while simultaneously cutting production time. The low viscosity permits higher fluid turbulence, resulting in faster heat removal than silicone liquids or d-limonene-based fluids.
"Visiting and talking to hundreds of thermal-fluid users about their system problems and production challenges," says Jim Oetinger, Paratherm Corporation Technical Manager, "you get a feel for what sorts of specialized products are missing from the marketplace."
In addition to the heat transfer fluids and system cleaners, Paratherm Corporation provides system-oriented troubleshooting services and thorough application and process assistance.

Oil & Gas Investments: A Viable Alternative For 1031 Investors
In todays active real estate market, real estate investors are frequently turning to alternative investments such as oil and gas.
(PRWEB) April 6, 2022 -- Introduction: As real estate prices continue to increase and investors are seeking different replacement property options for 1031 like-kind exchanges, Oil & Gas alternatives are beginning to emerge as viable alternatives for 1031 investors, and should strongly be considered to complement a real estate dominated portfolio. Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code classifies an investment in an Oil & Gas working interest or royalty interest (Oil & Gas production) as “like-kind” real estate for 1031 exchanges. An investor can exchange raw land, an apartment complex, an office building and all other types of investment real estate for an interest in Oil & Gas production.
Portfolio Diversification: While real estate prices have continued to increase, it has become difficult to accurately predict a profitable exit strategy for many passive real estate investments saddled with balloon financing and interest only loans. However, Oil & Gas production can provide a long term investment with secure cash flow without the headaches of additional 1031 exchanges for the investor. Also, Oil & Gas production is not management intensive, and the investment is wholly-owned by the investor who will control the exit strategy.
Unlike Tenant-In-Common investments, there is an active secondary market for Oil & Gas production. At anytime, an investor can sell directly to another investor or liquidate the investment at various auction houses that specialize in auctioning Oil & Gas production.
Diversification in Oil & Gas: Unlike traditional real estate investments where it is difficult to diversify across different asset types in different geographical locations, it is much easier to diversify with an Oil & Gas investment. Oil & Gas production is sold on a fractional basis, typically with a smaller minimum investment. Large producing fields can be sold to hundreds of investors where each individual investor owns a fractional interest in all of the producing wells.
Revenue Procedure 2002-22: Unlike Tenant-In-Common investments, Oil & Gas investments do not have to comply with the strict requirements of Revenue Procedure 2002-22. There is not a maximum investor requirement and Sponsors can earn carried and back-end interests as compensation to align their interests with investors.
Global Currency: Unlike United States based real estate, Oil & Gas is a global commodity that is not solely dependent on the United States economy. As the economies of China, India and other countries continue to emerge; many analysts agree that demand for Oil & Gas will continue to rise. If future supply can’t meet this increased demand, the price of Oil & Gas will continue to rise.
Experienced Operator: Similar to Tenant-In-Common ownership, it is important to invest with an experienced Sponsor. A good Oil & Gas investment depends on good engineering and a thorough understanding of the production life of the wells. An experienced operator will have the professionals in place to properly analyze these investments.
Types of Oil & Gas Investments That Qualify as “Like-Kind” Real Estate: Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code classifies an investment in an Oil & Gas working interest or royalty interest as “like-kind” real estate for 1031 exchanges. A working interest is a leasehold interest which allows the lessee the right to search for and produce Oil & Gas on a parcel of land. The Working Interest bears the expense of operating the Oil & Gas wells on the land (Royalty Interests do not), and receives a portion of the proceeds of the Oil & Gas produced.
Not all Oil & Gas investments qualify as “like-kind” for 1031 exchanges. While there are other tax benefits, drilling for Oil & Gas is not “like-kind” to real estate. Also, when selling Oil & Gas production, part of the sales price will be allocated to equipment and machinery. If this amount is 15% or less of the total sales price, it will be treated as de minimis to the sale and the entire sales amount can be exchanged into “like-kind” real estate. However, if the amount allocated to machinery is greater than 15% of the total sales price, it will be treated as personal property and not qualify.
Downsides & Risks: Like any investment, there are some downsides to Oil & Gas investing. Oil & Gas distributions will include a monthly income and principal return. For 1031 investors, it is difficult to continue exchanging the principal into other replacement property. Unlike real estate, Oil & Gas is very difficult to leverage. 1031 investors needing to replace debt in their exchange will have a difficult time acquiring Oil & Gas production.
Oil & Gas investments are valued based on the amount of potential production and the price of Oil & Gas as a commodity. As Oil & Gas commodity prices increase or decrease, values of Oil & Gas production fluctuate. If new areas of exploration are discovered, alternative energy sources are developed or supply begins to exceed demand, an Oil & Gas investment will likely decrease in value. While there are no drilling risks, Oil & Gas wells do require maintenance, and an Owner of a Working Interest will pay a pro rata share of the expenses associated with maintaining the wells.
Tax Treatment: Investors in Oil & Gas production can deduct against income the greater of “cost” depletion or “percentage” depletion. 1031 Investors often transfer a low basis into Oil & Gas production and will typically use “percentage” depletion. “Percentage” depletion is calculated as a percentage of the revenue generated by the wells. The cost or adjusted basis has no bearing on the amount of “percentage” depletion allowed. As a result, depletion deductions can exceed the cost or adjusted basis. Unlike depreciation of real estate, if the investor sells Oil & Gas production, there is no recapture of depletion taken.
Before making an investment in Oil & Gas production, please consult your Advisor to learn more about this viable alternative for 1031 Investors.

March Production at Joarcam 13-27 Well Totals 1414 Barrels Oil - Initial Production Averages 49 Barrels Per Day
Silver Star Energy, Inc. (OTCBB: SVSE) today announces the March production for the 13-27 well at Joarcam, Alberta. The well commenced commercial oil production on March 1, 2005, and the Company has received production results for the first 29 days. Total oil produced and shipped for sale was 1414 barrels with an average daily production rate of 49 barrels per day.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 6, 2022 -- Silver Star Energy, Inc.
The swab test analysis of the well during the completion phase indicated that the production rate should exceed the original estimate of 75 barrels per day. The I.P.R.s (Initial Production rates) are being evaluated and production has, over many days in the month, exceeded a rate of 60 barrels per day. The Company and operator are analyzing the results and will determine whether a larger down-hole pump may be required to increase the flow rates of the well. Total fluid measured during the testing period indicates the well should perform better. However, during this current period of Government imposed road bans, equipment to perform this operation cannot be moved to the well site until spring breakup is complete.
The 13-27 well is the first of a multi-well program drilled at Joarcam by Silver Star. The 2005 development program calls for the drilling of a minimum of 10 wells to develop the field. The Company has previously announced that the 5-22 well is ready to drill as soon as conditions allow following spring breakup in Alberta. When fully developed, the 10 wells should give a daily production rate at Joarcam of 500 barrels per day.
Robert McIntosh, President, states, "The first full month production at Joarcam is what we believe to be the start of a lengthy and profitable operation." On March 31st, statements were made by influential investment bank Goldman Sachs in a research report. The analyst predicted that oil prices could touch $105 a barrel in the next few years and that the world energy market is in the early stages of a "super-spike" period that could see 1970s-style price surges. This forecast was quoted as "conservative" from Goldman Sachs and staggered the oil markets. Mr. McIntosh further stated, "As Joarcam is developed, the oil reserves will become a core asset to the Company's future cash flow."
Using current "West Edmonton Light" pricing for Joarcam light crude oil, Silver Star has now projected that the well has generated $80,600 in revenue or $967,000 per year and will payout its entire cost in 7 months. The long-life reserves in the Viking allow wells to be in commercial production for 20 years. Currently, the 38-degree API light oil at Joarcam has been priced at over $57.00 per barrel ($67.00 CDN). The prospect lands are located about 25 miles southeast of Edmonton, Alberta and there is year-round access to the property.
About Silver Star Energy, Inc.
The Company is committed to the exploration and extensive development of oil and natural gas reserves throughout western North America. Company management is focused on an acquisition program targeting high-quality, low-risk prospects provided via key strategic alliance partnerships.

Care2 and Defenders of Wildlife Announce Earth Day Virtual March
First-ever virtual event protests U.S. wildlife conservation legislation and policies.
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) April 5, 2022 – Wildlife conservation organizations Care2 and the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund today announced the first-ever Earth Day environmental virtual march to take place April 22, 2005. The joint effort, through a special website www.earthdayvirtualmarch.org, provides an organized way for citizens to protest the recent Senate vote to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling and other anti-conservation policies of the White House and the Congress.
Randy Paynter, founder of Care2 said, "We wanted to give individuals the means to have their voices heard collectively by the politicians in Washington and see the impact of joining forces with activists across the country. Through the virtual march, our elected representatives will receive an avalanche of emails, phone calls and faxes that should help persuade them to reconsider their actions that harm our wildlife, their habitat and the environment we share."
Speaking for the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, President Rodger Schlickeisen explained, "Through this first Earth Day virtual march, conservationists can send a message to the White House and the Congress that oil drilling in America's greatest wildlife sanctuary is not the way to prepare for America’s energy future. It’s time for the President, Senators and Representatives to stop listening to oil interests, and instead build a wildlife conservation legacy for our children and grandchildren."
Through www.earthdayvirtualmarch.org, individuals can sign up for the march and simultaneously send an email praising or criticizing their Senators on their Arctic vote, for final email delivery on Earth Day. March participants are also encouraged to call or fax the White House and their Senators and Representative on Earth Day to urge greater wildlife conservation activism and protection.
In addition, participants may spread the word about the virtual event and encourage friends to sign up by utilizing the www.earthdayvirtualmarch.org site. Providing an individualized map showing ripple effect of each person’s efforts, this attractive feature allows each participating individual to see how their activism spreads across the country.
Care2 (www.earthdayvirtualmarch.org) is the leading online destination and action center for people with a passion for leading a healthy, responsible lifestyle and supporting progressive causes. Along with its own 4 million members, Care2 is building a powerful network of online communities to collectively make a difference in the most important social, health and environmental causes of our time.
The Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund (www.earthdayvirtualmarch.org) is a non-profit organization that provides the wildlife conservation community with a voice in the legislative and political process. Most All Motorists Never Questioned a Politician About High Gas Prices
Look what it got us. Don't question politicans and guess what? You go to the gas pump, fork up hard-earned money and you don't know why it's higher and getting higher. Thanks to the interent, you can now ask the questions and get the answers to make politicians answerable, accountable and repsonsible to you. It's the American way. Don't complain if you don't.
Rancho Mirage, CA (PRWEB) April 5, 2022 -- Most all politicians do their best to avoid things like commitment to constituents and just representation of all citizens.
To make changes in national policies and issues, the public needs to beat these so-called public servants that allow the price of gas to go up at their own game.
FOIL, the Foreign Oil Independence League has crafted an urgently needed tool to hold politicians’ feet to the fire when it comes to America’s addiction to foreign oil and failure to push alternative energy research and use.
It’s an Inquiry that citizens can download from the FOIL Web site www.joinfoil.org and email to their elected officials.
It’s a powerful tool that will force politicians to admit the nation is hostage to foreign oil interests and will continue to be unless something positive is done quickly about America’s dependence on foreign oil.
And they have to put their position on the line for all to see. Something they hate to do.
“The high gas cost buck stops here, I want answers why I'm paying obscene prices for gas," the Inquiry states.
The Inquiry contains 13 loaded questions, an unlucky number for the politicians who get them. If they don’t answer “true” to all the inquiries, they’re admitting that they’re playing games with the public’s money when it comes to the woes of oil dependence and the lack of a fat cat free domestic energy policy.
In other words, if they don’t answer “true” to questions asked, they’re admitting they don’t actually represent the needs and wants of American citizens. And they are hiding the connection between foreign oil, terrorism and the shrinking dollar for the sake big oil lobbyists..
If they don’t send back your inquiry at all, do the same thing, fire another e-mail. Just make it more emphatic. JOINFOIL’s Inquiry will empower all Americans to take a stand. Show that empowerment to representatives, senators and eventually to the White House. When you click on the “Inquiry” on www.joinfoil.org , you can link to the names and addresses of all congresspersons.
Show them you’re the boss, they're supposed to work for you. That you’ve got the power. These people serve at your pleasure.
And if they want your vote, it would be a good idea to start pleasing you in the energy arena. Particularly at the gas pump. Most of all, they have to acknowledge that you and millions like you have the clout to make them cringe.
The Joinfoil.org Inquiry works because it makes politicians come clean. How about that!

Protonex Raises $9 Million in Second Round - Portable Fuel Cell Company Adds Global Design/Manufacturing Partner
Protonex Technology Corporation, a manufacturer of high-performance fuel cell power systems for portable and remote applications, announced that it has raised $9 million in a second round of institutional funding. The financing was led by existing investors Conduit Ventures Ltd., SAS Investors, Solstice Capital and Commons Capital. New investors are Parker Hannifin Corporation, Contango Capital Management and the Massachusetts Green Energy Fund.
Southborough, MA (PRWEB) April 5, 2022 -- Protonex Technology Corporation, a manufacturer of high-performance fuel cell power systems for portable and remote applications, announced that it has raised $9 million in a second round of institutional funding. The financing was led by existing investors Conduit Ventures Ltd., SAS Investors, Solstice Capital and Commons Capital. New investors are Parker Hannifin Corporation, Contango Capital Management and the Massachusetts Green Energy Fund.
Scott Pearson, CEO, Protonex, states that the funds will be used to further develop Protonex’s patent-pending fuel cell technology, to commercialize and launch products, and to expand the company’s operations. "The high level of interest we received from venture capital funds and industry leaders is very gratifying because it provides strong evidence of our market leadership. Protonex has demonstrated fuel cell prototype systems and is focused on creating high-value products for specific applications. The addition of a world-class manufacturing partner, Parker Hannifin, further strengthens our position and will enable us to achieve economies of scale in a much shorter period of time."
Protonex’s high performance portable fuel cell systems are compact, lightweight and durable, and provide customers with a better solution than shorter term and/or heavier power sources such as batteries and generators. A soldier on a 3-day mission, for example, currently carries 13 primary batteries weighing over 29 pounds, whereas Protonex’s fuel cell system will provide the same amount of power while weighing less than 10 pounds (including all required fuel). In addition to its military efforts, Protonex also intends to adapt its product line to address a wide range of commercial applications.
Parker Hannifin Corporation sees its financial investment in Protonex as a natural extension of the existing strategic partnership between the companies. According to Akbar Naderi, Group Vice President, Parker Hannifin, “Parker has been successfully working with Protonex on joint product development, engineering, design, manufacturing and sales initiatives related to fuel cell products. Together, Parker and Protonex helped Vectrix Corporation deliver the world’s first high-performance fuel cell/electric scooter, and are actively engaged in developing other products. We look forward to leveraging the strong synergies between Protonex’s fuel cell systems and Parker’s industry-leading component design and manufacturing technologies.”
John Butt, Managing Partner, Conduit Ventures added, “As a worldwide fund specifically focused on fuel cells, we understand this market, and it is clear to us that Protonex is well ahead of competition in its power range. Conduit and our fellow investors feel that this funding, combined with the company’s strong military traction, positions Protonex for long-term success.”
